Worst nail extension job I've ever experienced. $96 later: massively misshapen nails, not at all what I even asked for with length and shape. Dismissive front desk. Uncooperative nail tech. Upon booking, I told the front desk I'm very picky. I'm a creative director by trade and I need someone very precise. She cut me off saying don't worry all my technicians are very good. Consequently, I had shown the nail tech my last manicure and asked him to recreate these very basic neutral medium length almond nails. I asked him for advice regarding what nail extension technique would achieve the look. We debated a bit. I know a lot about nails because I used to have a nail business in LA. I made a choice amongst the techniques and he insisted on another and proceeded with that, insisting I wait and see. He refused my feedback along the process as I watched him make big mistakes like cut the nails way too short, shape each nail unevenly, and taking shapes way too off to one side and yet kept telling me to wait and see. Well, too late now it's done and anyone in their right mind would see this is a garbage job in addition to being nothing that I asked for except for the color of the polish. See what they gave me compared to my previous mani and how much they differ. Nails sit lifted on some nail beds and straighter on others, but unevenly distributed gel. They're just all over the place. A salon is only as good as it's consistency. I do not recommend. read more

I made a same day appointment for a mani pedi and I didn't have much time. They asked if I preferred pedicure and then manicure or both at the same time. I appreciated the option and went for same time so I could leave sooner. They brought a few different color binders and I decided to try cats eyes which have a little bit of a holographic look. I was so wowed by that process!! Katie used a magnetic stick to change the way the glitter moves in the polish before curing one finger at a time. Overall it looks very cool and I catch myself admiring my nails in the light which I don't normally do or get into (I get a manicure only a few times a year for special occasions). I'll also add they gave me a bottled water when I came in and even gave me a nice quality mask when I asked for one. I am immunocompromised and there was a lot of sanding going on at the next station so I felt taken care of as best as they could. read more

I recently had a very disappointing experience. The person working on me nicked my skin and caused bleeding, which was both painful and concerning. The drill bits they used didn't appear clean, which raised hygiene concerns. Additionally, they were a bit aggressive when switching hands and handling tools, making the entire session uncomfortable. The nails turned out fine, though I don't know if I would pay $110 for this service and experience again. Overall, I would not recommend this place based on my experience. read more

Lana has helped reduced and eliminate my in-grown toenails with the care she shows. My feet and legs are in absolute heaven each visit. Compared to the other two spots, parking is a bit harder because it IS at Santana Row. However, inside is much roomier. However, the nail tech I got, Byrant, while removing the old builder gel, managed to get nail dust flying everywhere, including onto the nail tech next to him and her customer. Furthermore, he broke my previous gel x so we had to remove it. Luckily, my natural nails had some length (couldn't do almond, so I settled with round) and we went with putting the builder gel directly on top. Downside: The round shape he filed my nails, is growing out inconsistently. To add insult to injury, barely 2 weeks have passed and there is already chipping occurring! Today Lam did my nails and he was so awesome. Very gentle careful and kind. I had a great service acrylic fill for $75 and did cats eye green color. He was so patient with me when I had trouble deciding on the color and helped me make sure the set looked good. The original set was done elsewhere and it was a complete disaster and he was able to fix it and make it look so nice. So disappointed with my manicure here. Lana cut my cuticles too deep and filed aggressively. I was left with nicks and cuts on three fingers. A day later all of my cuticles are sore and the fingers with cuts are in pain! She then went ahead with the paraffin dip and gel over the open skin without ever pausing. She kept on telling me it's ok and fine and kept going! I'm very concerned about getting infection from the open wounds. My best and most consistent experience with any nail salon. They always answer their phones to take appointments, don't double book people, and greet you at the door. They also offer online bookings too, and they send confirmation texts, which always helps me remember. They also offer a 5% discount if you pay in cash. I usually pay anywhere from $70-$100 max if I get more designs and added elements. I am a regular and always see Lamiah. She is so friendly and we always have great conversations. I often like to bring inspo pics and she never disappoints. I live a very busy life and my work involves a lot of movement, at every length my acrylic nails have stayed intact and I almost never get any cracks or lifting in my nails, even when I go longer than 5 weeks, eek. I get in and out and never feel rushed. Lamiah is great at checking in throughout the appointment to check if you like your shape, color, design, or whatever you are doing. Another positive is that after every appointment my nails do not hurt or feel sore. I have been to many other salons where the tech is rough and files super hard, leaving your fingers sore for the rest of the day. Not the experience I have had here. The salon is in Santana Row so parking can be a little hectic but I have never had to pay while parking in the garage across, which offers the first 2 hours free. read more

I had a good experience here with Tammy for my builder gel cat eye fill-in. She was very attentive to detail and I'm in love with how she shaped my nails and the final result! I also got my eyebrows waxed here by Phuong, I thought that the price would be higher due to the location. I've visited the other Kitchen Nail Bar locations (Coleman and Santa Teresa) so I was a tad wary of coming here, but the quality of service and cost is the same. Came in with one of my girlfriends to get a pedicure and Uyen got my toes right! It was soo relaxing especially after working all week it was definitely relaxing. She gave us tea and water and put a heating pad on our shoulders which was definitely relaxing. The whole experience was good and definitely recommend her if you need any pedicure. read more

I usually go to kitchen nail bar on blossom hill but I wanted to try this one instead. Emily was the nail tech that did my nails. As she was gluing the nail tips on they kept popping off. She would just stick them back on even though they were clearly not staying. She finish my acrylic nails and charged me $70. 2 days later 3 of the nails have already come off. It's honestly not surprising thinking about it now. I went back to get a refund and they removed the nails. This is my first time at this kitchen location. I had gone to 2 other locations in the past and also was not happy with their service. I thought I'd try this location after the free Pilates class on Saturday mornings at Santana Row. The facility is nice and clean. This review is for the end result of my manicure and pedicure polish job. I noticed the clear top coat did not go the full surface area of the paint color and asked for correction. She fixed one nail and didn't understand what I was seeing with the others. For $108 for a regular manicure and pedicure, the quality is worse than I could do myself for the paint job. Save yourself the trip and go to OMG nails in Cupertino instead. They are 10/10 compared to any of the kitchen nail locations in the Bay Area. read more

The inside is very clean, the women are extremely attentive, and I always leave feeling like I had perfect service. Specifically, Ivy & Lam are two of my favorite technicians. But at this point I've been to 4 salons and I have to say kitchen nail bar has been the best and understandably a bit more expensive. I've been to two of kitchen nail bar branches and I really like the Santana row one but think the Palo Alto one is the worst I've been to of all the salons. I've actly been to the Santana row branch twice now and left satisfied and in awe both times! The first time I came was with my girlfriends to do my bridal nails and the second time was actually to do bridesmaids nails. I had a different technician both times but the results were both equally good. The pictures are more of a review than anything I can say right now, just look how pretty it is! The only reason I deducted a star was because with so many technicians, it's hard to remain consistent on the service, but overall I don't have any concerns about either technicians that I had! read more
