Went for Birthday lunch. Love the floral wall vibes. Our waitress Darlene was awesome, despite being only server our area she was attentive, welcoming and friendly. She and the bartender sung happy birthday totally made my day. I had the quessoBirira Tacos, Mexican candy shot (hibiscus), totally need that as a mixed drink loved it. And a chamoyrita blended. There was also chips, guacamole and chcirones for the table. Everything was flavorful and love when my hot food is hot. I also got the complimentary birthday ice cream which was a nice gesture.

Carne asada w/beans & rice. Had good flavor & beans & rice tasted good!

When we got there we waited a good while, maybe 10-15 min before drink order was taken. Then ordered appetizer & it came out 3 min before our meal. We had to Ask multiple times for refills that didn't get refilled. Water were not brought out when we had asked as our 1st drinks. Food was mediocre. Mole looked like paste, guacamole had no flavor, the barbacoa was super salty, they were serving their sodas from 2 liter bottles, not sure what that was about. The Chips tasted burnt. All in all I would not recommend this kalaveras as it did not seem like they were very organized or customer friendly. We have gone to the MoVal establishment & we have nothing but praise on that one. The only thing that was delicious was the flan, very creamy, Carmel tasted fresh & presentation was on point! Proceed with caution!

This is my second visit and second review. I had hoped my first experience was a fluke but again I was not impressed and will not be going back. First of all the parking lot was almost completely full when I got there and only had 2 spots available. When I walked in I was expecting it to be busy with a wait because of the parking. Nope plenty of seating and was seated right away. My friend and I were meeting for our birthdays. While we were waiting we saw the birthday celebration which included blowing whistles, flashing strobe lights and a very large sombero. We quickly told the waitress we did not want that lol. The menu is small and everything was expensive. Guacamole was $14 tacos were $6-$8.50 each depending on what you got and only came with the taco, no sides. Margaritas were $18+ The food was ok. Nothing special, no extra flavorful or anything. When we were sitting and chatting a large band started setting up in the dining room. (Over 10 people in the band) when they started playing it was so loud we couldn't hear each other at all. I'm all for live music but I should still be able to hear the people sitting at my table or next to me. Even the tables around us were looking shocked at the sound level. We were glad that we had paid our check and could leave shortly after they started.

It was ok Good service , the food ok. Not the tastiest. Probably wont go back. I tjink good for margaritas and chips and salsa. Maybe during happy hour or something. It's pretty dark bar Room type it was OK.

Great food! The flavors pop and the overall cook was great. They have authentic Mexican 500ml Coca Cola to help wash down the spice. Their wings have a kick to them so be sure to get a Coke, . I enjoyed the sample platter and I look forward to returning.

I've gone to Kalaveras in Long Beach but this was my first time in the Corona spot. A friend told me they had a different menu on the weekends but not sure. However, I really wanted their garbage burrito but this location didn't have it today (Sunday). Buffet is roughly $39 for adults and $19 for children. We ordered: Wet Klassic Burrito: 7/10 (I asked for Pastor and got Asada) Birria Tacos: 8/10 Green Enchiladas: 8/10 (needed more chicken) Staff/Server was perfect! Love the staff so much. Parking was full so had to do valet but they're complimentary!

Came here on Taco Tuesday. Such a great deal $1.99 each for street tacos stuffed to the brim with your choice of 8 different meats. There was also a side bar of toppings cilantro onions salsa etc. our server Darlene made our lunch even more enjoyable. Very courteous, great recommendations for our other table mates. Attentive making sure our chips were always hot and fresh. Our drinks never ran dry. Restaurant is super clean, music was appropriate but not too loud. The margaritas and cocktails looked great and were priced well, but we will have to come back to indulge since we had others stops to make. Overall just a nice relaxing way to spend our lunch time.

This place exudes great energy the moment you walk in, thanks to the vibrant decor and upbeat music. The staff is warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. The tacos were absolutely delicious, the meat was perfectly cooked and packed with rich, bold flavors. They also offer a great variety of tacos, and surprisingly, the sushi is quite impressive too!

I've been to so many of these restaurants for their taco Tuesdays. They're all consistent. They all have good food and I love going during Halloween because they have spooky festive drinks. The service is always amazing It's consistent across the board I think I've been to about seven of these locations now and have always had excellent service. The restaurant is a cool vibe across all of them a fun decorative bar area right colors good music I've always had a good time.

Thought I would give this place another chance since I was not real impressed the first time. Unfortunately this time was worse. My granddaughter and I went for taco Tuesday around noon. It wasn't that busy yet we waited and waited and waited for service. We ordered guacamole and queso. When that finally arrived we ordered our main course. I ordered one taco my granddaughter a burrito. Our drinks were never filled , we had to wave someone down to ask. Ordered a dessert they brought without silverware. Had to wait until our desert was cold to finally get silverware. All in all very frustrating . Not a great experience, certainly not relaxing or enjoyable. And BTW our lunch with tip was $95. Just not worth it. I won't go back!

I had dinner with friends, and unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. After our server took our drink and food order, we never saw her again. When our food arrived, one of the dishes had undercooked salmon and one of the tacos was cold. Since no one checked on us, one person from our group had to go to the front desk to explain the situation. We were told there was a miscommunication with the server, but no one came to our table to apologize or check if we needed anything else. Overall, the lack of follow-up and customer care made for a poor dining experience. read more

Ambiance is fantastic. Food is good. I wish they had more choices in the menu. Barbacoa was on point. Our server was very attentive. When we came in they had entertainment about to start so we were seated by the bar for a party of 6. We've been to Kalavaras before and had a much better experience, but this visit 08/31/25 was extremely disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was slow and inattentive. We waited far too long for everything, and when our appetizer finally arrived, it wasn't even what we ordered. To make matters worse, the women's restroom was in terrible condition--not a single stall had toilet paper, and there were seat covers scattered all over the floor. I brought this to the attention of two separate staff members, yet when I checked back over 25 minutes later, nothing had been done to address it. Unfortunately, this visit has us questioning whether we'll return. Over $75 later, and leaving disappointed, Kalavaras really missed the mark this time. read more

This is a great little spot. Right now it looks like it's empty but in the evening it's actually quite packed and there's good music playing. The food is delicious and the servers are awesome. I wasn't a big fan of the Paloma quite frankly I think they used Grapefruit juice and way too much of it. I'm not a fan a real Paloma should be made with squirt. Other than that, I have no complaints. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went here with the girls last weekend for the first time. We made a reservation and was seated right away. The ambiance is nice, kind of loud, and there is indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a margarita and couldn't even taste the alcohol in it, it was sweet and fruity. It was good, but wish there was more alcohol. I ordered the salmon taco for dinner and it was good. This was my second time here. The food is amazing. I've had the shrimp tacos, strawberry margaritas, the margarita flight, ceviche, and fajitas. All spectacular. The stand out is the ceviche with mango. The service is always great but our server tonight: Daniela was stand out. She was just really nice and genuine and had really good recommendations. So my family and I were attending a car show and our daughter had eaten here before and like the Barbados tacos so we decided to try them. The Barbacoa tacos were about the only thing that we liked! My hubby got a carnitas taco and I ordered the fish tacos, and he said the carnitas were okay & unfortunately, the fish in the tacos were very small. The strawberry margaritas or a solid five out of 10. But my daughter said it will do the job. Lol. If you haven't been to Kalaveras yet, you're missing out! The quesabirrias are next-level good, and honestly the whole menu is packed with flavor. Everything we tried was HH quesabirrias are only $7.99 (Great menu has such a good variety) Shoutout to Sugey, the manager -- she's so sweet and made the experience even better. I've been to Kalaveras a few times, but my last visit really stood out all because of Sal. From the moment we sat down, Sal was attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Being fluent in both Spanish and English, he made ordering a breeze and helped everyone at the table feel comfortable and understood. He guided us through the options, made great recommendations on drinks and food, and checked in on us without ever being intrusive. The food at Kalaveras is always good, but great service is what keeps me coming back. Sal has that rare ability to make you feel like a welcome guest rather than just another table. He was friendly, efficient, and clearly takes pride in what he does. If you're heading to Kalaveras, ask for Sal you won't be disappointed. Already looking forward to our next visit! read more

Great Service at Kalaveras! We had dinner at Kalaveras last night and while my plate (Lomo Saltado) was just okay (a bit mid, to be honest) meat was really dry but the service more than made up for it. Darlene was absolutely amazing--super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. She brought great energy to the table and really elevated the whole experience. If you're heading to Kalaveras, I definitely recommend asking for Darlene. She's a gem! read more

We had reservations for our monthly Dinner Date !! Our first time here The parking was full but they have valet parking, The drink menu was very extensive one full page, they have happy hour 3-7 pm We ordered appetizers and drinks from that menu, and dinner from the regular menu, my fiancé orders the shrimp fajitas well done, and no mushrooms!! When it arrived shrimp was undercooked, had to sensitive back, then when it returned he had mushrooms in it ‍, waitress spoke with manager, they took off one drink and gave us dessert, as we were paying at the table for our bill, the busboy went on to picking up the dirty dishes and had us pick up our stuff to wipe the table down !!! That was rude and disappointing!! Please clean when your customers are out completely!! Felt rushed and disappointed after all that. read more

Came here for bottomless mimosas with my friends and had a great time! Came around noon on a Saturday with a party of 12 and was seated immediately. Server was super sweet and checked on our table often. The only thing was they were pretty strict with the cut-off time for mimosas. In terms of food, I ordered the veggie omlette. Castanedas, Kalaveras & Ramos Trucking are all working together & need to knock it the Fuggg Off with this predatory parking/towing game. This review will go on each of their pages. KALAVERAS parking is a joke and they know it and are doing nothing about it. They offer no safe parking or force you to risk expensive towing if their lot is full (which is about 90% of typical dining hours). You're asking a lot and in return offering overpriced food with horrible wait staff. Take care of your customers!!! CASTANEDAS - their business sucks and because no one goes there, they have ample parking, which is the safest option if you are unable to find a spot at their bestie's place next door. If no one is at your business you don't need to tow people because they take aren't taking a spot away from a prospective diner. Your sign in the front warning of the towing is hidden in plain site also. It might be the drivers fault for parking there but the amount of times I've seen people get towed is like the tow companies are just sitting around like Uber drivers outside a night club at 2am waiting for their next cash cow. If you call the ph# on the sign, they say they aren't the company that does the towing. ???? Super helpful!! (Deep sarcasm) And that leads me to the tow company RAMOS TOWING LLC ..... how do you even sleep at night with your predatory business. Who has $481 just sitting unused to give you in cash or zelle. Saw a very nice truck pull up with a man in what looks like very high end sweats, and asked if he was the owner, to which he said yes and proceeded to tell me I can't come in to the yard yet. Then never speaks to me again. I saw another man there they wouldn't let in, but had to send his pregnant daughter back there to handle the business because her name was on the registration. Why can't her dad go with her? Why would you treat a pregnant woman like that? I would have lost it if that was me and was dying to scream at them, which I did not. I just asked questions. Something sounds EXTRA fishy when you refuse to accept a credit card. When you get to your tow lot you have 0 signs or lights and leave people stranded waiting for help. I had a surgery recently and only had a knee scooter to walk through their rocky/unstable yard. I asked if they had their rates posted somewhere but even when the person I was talking to said "I'm sure we do" (as if no one has ever asked that before) they still never showed me where I could find info. How do I know if they charged the person before me$250? They literally take so much time to do anything for you, in the dark, no office, no concern because, of course, they are making bank. It took someone 20 minutes to handwrite a receipt that they forced me to sign. I asked if I had to sign it and he said yes. What if I didn't ask for a receipt? You cannot convince me they aren't all in this together. Something is wrong with each and every one of these businesses. If someone ever says to you "Hey, meet me at Kalaveras for dinner" the answer is "hell no" May the worst karma be upon your profits. I would never wish harm on a person but these businesses don't care about anyone but themselves. I recently had the misfortune of dining at Kalaveras Mexican Restaurant with a large group of friends, and the whole experience left us utterly disappointed and disgusted. The night was planned for in advance, and we were all excited to try out the supposedly renowned Mexican cuisine at this establishment. However, our high expectations were shattered by the restaurant's appalling customer service. To begin with, we had made a reservation well in advance to ensure that our large party would be accommodated comfortably. The day finally arrived, and we arrived at the restaurant right on time, eagerly anticipating a delightful evening. But to our dismay, the restaurant staff informed us that they had somehow "lost" our reservation. Seriously? How can a reputed restaurant misplace a reservation for a large group? The staff's response to the situation was nothing short of insulting. Instead of offering a genuine apology or trying to find a solution, they seemed nonchalant and dismissive. Their lack of concern made us feel unimportant and unwelcome. We were left to stand there awkwardly as they shrugged their shoulders and failed to take any responsibility for their error. As if that wasn't enough, the staff didn't even attempt to find a way to accommodate us. They simply shrugged off the mistake and told us there was no room available for our party, essentially sending us away without any effort to rectify the situation. It was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful to treat a group of paying customers. This experience has left a sour taste in our mouths, both literally and figuratively. The lack of respect, accountability, and basic hospitality displayed by Kalaveras Mexican Restaurant is unacceptable. I can confidently say that none of us will be returning to this establishment again, and we will be warning our friends, family, and anyone who will listen to avoid it at all costs. In conclusion, if you're looking for a Mexican restaurant that values its customers and treats them with dignity and care, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Kalaveras. There are plenty of other restaurants in town that deserve your patronage and offer a genuinely positive dining experience. This place certainly doesn't deserve a spot on your list of dining options. This was our first time coming to Kalaveras. We had seen it off the side of the freeway for years and decided to give it a try. That was a mistake. Our "server" was Hector. It started off normal when he came and asked what we wanted to order. Since it was our first time, we didn't really know so we all started off with water while we looked. He walked off to flirt with the bartender. When he came back we ordered off the lunch menu, which supposedly includes drinks. Unfortunately for us the server didn't ask what drinks we wanted and ran off. We had to flag him down and ask if chips and salsa came with our meal because other tables had it and that prompted him to go and get it....after he finished flirting with the bartender again. The chips were good and the salsa was meh. He came around to ask if we needed anything and we asked for a refill on the chips and salsa. He never brought them and we had to ask another server for it. When the food came it was luke warm, and of course not brought by Hector who was nowhere to be seen. He came by again and asked if we needed any to-go boxes and we said yes and after 15 minutes we had to ask another server to give us the to-go box. After sitting there another 5 minutes without Hector showing up to take our payment we asked another server for the manager and he magically appeared within a minute. When we spoke to the manager she was just confused and was trying to explain that Hector supposedly was "training" the bartender. Hector WAS the guy that needed training. There were 3 other groups in the entire restaurant and we basically received no service. I could understand if it was a Friday night and the place was booked but it literally was just a few other groups. Maybe if we did to-go the food would have still been warm though. The food itself wasn't good but that's fine. Not every restaurant is designed for everyone to be happy. I am more just upset by the "service". read more

My second round at Kalaveras was like a sequel that actually outdid the original - a rare find in both cinema and dining. This time, we kicked things off with the ceviche, and for the main event, I went with the carne asada, while my wife dared the culinary fates with the Lomo Saltado. Our mains arrived with such speed, it felt like they were trying to qualify for the food Olympics, outpacing even our appetizer. When the ceviche made its grand entrance, it was so fresh, I half-expected it to tell me about its day swimming in the ocean. That dish alone has me plotting my next visit. The carne asada was fantastic, so tender and flavorful. It came with the usual suspects: rice and beans, which played their supporting roles to perfection. My wife's Lomo Saltado, on the other hand, was the culinary equivalent of a B-movie: not terrible, but you wouldn't rush to see it again. The sweet potato fries were an unexpected co-star, like casting a clown in a drama - interesting choice, but didn't quite fit the bill. We also indulged in the sampler margaritas, which were so expertly mixed, they could smooth over any family dinner tensions. Just the right touch of tequila - enough to make you appreciate life, but not enough to start dancing on the table. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with an inviting atmosphere that made you move your body and that set the tone for the rest of the evening. First and foremost, the drink recommendations from Kristine were absolutely amazing. The knowledgeable staff at Kalaveras truly know their craft and she was able to suggest the perfect drinks to complement our tastebuds. Each sip was a delightful journey of flavors, leaving us wanting more! Speaking of the meal, the food at Kalaveras was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From the appetizers to the main course, each bite was a true delight for the taste buds. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients were evident in every dish. What truly made our experience memorable was the great vibe of the place. A restaurant is most of the time judged or rated based on it's food quality and/or taste. Most of the time people ignore or simply do not pay much attention to one of the most important key factors that makes the entire experience a whole. That of course is the service. Most people only review when they are upset over something and hardly ever take the time to place a review when they have a great experience because they EXPECT it. While that might be true as explained sometimes we have to give recognition to the people that make it a great experience based on their professionalism, experience, attitude and character. I want to point out the outstanding work that Soleil delivers to her customers every time. My wife and I were there at the Corona location tonight celebrating her birthday. Soleil made us feel warm and extremely welcomed with her great attitude and personality. It is difficult to find great employees. She definitely falls in that category and Kalaveras should cherish her and do whatever necessary to not ever loose her. Our team's work lunch at Kalaveras is an absolute highlight of the week, and a huge part of that is thanks to Darlene. The moment we walk in, the place has such a great energy! And perfect for a midday break. But Darlene's service is what really makes it stand out. She is so incredibly efficient and friendly, which is exactly what you want on a work lunch when you're on a bit of a time crunch. She takes our orders quickly and is totally on top of our drinks, making sure we are never waiting around. She has great recommendations for the menu, and her suggestions are spot-on, especially for Taco Tuesday! The tacos are amazing, with so many fresh and delicious fillings. The food is delicious, always hot and fresh, and the drinks are perfect for a quick lunch boost. Thanks to Darlene, our lunch is not just a meal, but a genuinely pleasant and seamless experience. We celebrated my wife's birthday at Kalaveras, and Daniela, our waitress, made the evening truly special. Her warm welcome set a joyous tone right from the start. THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN A 50 MILE RADIUS and the ambience is just right for such a beautiful building!! I'm tellin you, you have to check out this place if you haven't already!! The waitress we had was the sweetest lady named Edy. She was super kind and very quick- very knowledgeable too! And actually, now that I think of it, every staff member we met was incredibly friendly, from the gusset to the manager! (Impressive!) The food was incredible with savory meat. We tried several tacos and they were all delicious!!! No chewy fat AND the prices were really reasonable. The food was the best Mexican food we've had out here (and we've been everywhere now), and it was fast!!! And equally important, the adult drinks were PHENOMENAL and were also served so beautifully and very very quick--we were shocked!!! You won't be let down here. We even noticed the daily specials are even ones you'll actually want to visit for!!! My hubby and I are stoked we found this place and will definitely be back quite often! read more

A word of caution for those less tolerant of spice: it's advisable to inquire about the spice level before ordering, as I discovered to my surprise. Despite my oversight, the dish was still exceptional, albeit fiery. The ambiance is undeniably impressive, though individuals over 45 may find it beneficial to bring reading glasses, as the lighting, while complementing the decor, can make menu reading a tad challenging. We took a friend to celebrate her birthday, and it was a first time for us all at such a fun place. Food was excellent, the appetizers we chose, were delicious and that green salsa, oh yeah. Molcajete bowl was so good and their Sushi is on point whoever the chefs are there, PROPS for sure. Drinks were excellent and fun to the decor. Most of all, Katherine our waitress, was top notch, very sweet and attentive to our needs we never had to look for her she constantly would stop at our table to see if we were in need of anything or just to chat (as we are a fun group) I hope they pay her well because good ones are hard to come by nowadays. Kalaveras is one of my go-to spots, and a big reason for that is Alex at the bar. Seriously, he's a total pro! I've been coming here for a while, and Alex always remembers my usual, which is a nice touch. He's not just quick with the drinks; he's also super friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. This was my first time here. We went during their brunch time and everything was amazing. It's was very bright and colorful inside and made it feel like you were in a dream almost. But it was still very inviting. Staff was super nice and the food was amazing. Their coffee was some of the best coffee I've had. Was served in a terracotta mug that was really nice! I had their Pozole verde And it was really good! Had a great balance of chicken and hominy. Had just a small spice but wasn't overpowering. The chips and salsa were also very fresh and had great flavor! Our waitress was Daniela and was super friendly and knowledgable about the menu when we asked her any questions. Fun atmosphere, great food, and great service. Our server Daniela was awesome. Professional, pleasant and friendly. Our food was really great. My husband loved the empanadas and his red and green wet burrito. I had chicken fajitas which was awesome. Even loved the chips and salsa! Again our server Daniela was great, food was served within minutes. She was attentive. The coffin drink was fun to see too. There was a few birthdays and it was fun to see 'the skull of shots' come out and the waiters and waitresses singing happy birthday made it even more fun. The decor was a beautiful and fun combination. The music was fun, but agree a tad loud but made you feel happy and feel like dancing. We will definitely be back. read more

Definitely give this place a try! For a soft opening, this Kalaveras will definitely surprise you from their well thought out decor (that sticks to its theme by the way) to the delicious food and drinks accompanied by top notch service. The quality and presentation of the food and service makes me want to go back, especially for the service that both my servers gave. First time I arrived, I was served by Jackie, who did an amazing job making sure I was well taken care of throughout my stay. I then left and came back with a friend because I needed to show her the new place in town. We were then taken care of by Jorge, who delivered that same, consistent service I was looking for. I had a wonderful dining experience! Our server, Alejandra L., provided excellent service throughout the entire meal. She was incredibly attentive to our whole party, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and that everyone at the table was taken care of.
