They offer reservations, which is great because it ended up being packed due to a soccer game. There's two entrances which was a bit confusing but eventually we found the one with the host stand. The host helped us pretty quick and we were seated in a booth. Our waiter was Brandon and he was great, he checked on us often throughout our visit. I ordered the Mi Novia Fresa, the Lomo Saltado and the Churro Sandwich. The drink had a nice strawberry taste with sugar on the glass. I ordered my Lomo Saltado to be chicken but unfortunately they gave me steak and they had to remake it. When I got the right one though it tasted very good! The Churro Sandwich was exceptional, great crispiness and drizzled with a strawberry sauce. I would come back just for the sandwich alone!

Amazing service and staff! Shout out Ana she was literally the best. Did bottomless mimosas and the were QUICK to refill and accommodate flavors. We had a group of 9 so we def kept them busy refilling our flutes lol Music a lil loud but hella seating and vibes inside. The adobada is BOMB and huge. The burrito is whatever, cheese grilled on the outside and not the inside. Chilaquiles were not soggy yay!!

We were a party of 5 and noticed on the menus it said gratuity is added for parties greater than 6. Well my friend and i spilt the bill and neither of us realized that our server lied on the bill and said we were a party of 13 and gave her self a tip. My friend and i both tipped her separately and wasn't till we got home that we realized that combined she had gotten almost a 70$ tip! I called the restaurant and spoke to Ismael who said he would help but we never heard back from him. 0 stars.

Made a reservation and check in was easy and we were seated immediately. Our server was Manny and he was there any time he was needed with friendly and prompt service . My sister and I hit the lunch specials, Lunch Fajita plate and one of the Kara Bowl (?) with chicken. Both meals were outstanding. The Jalapeño carrots were a nice adder to the fajita plate. Chicken was well spiced and moist. The flour tortillas appeared to be fries made fresh made. A great lunch for a great price

The Food is Delicious I had The Esquite appetizer and it was the drinks are amazing too Sal The Bartender does Killer Chamucos try them out!!! Emmanuel was our server and he was great. The Management team is phenomenal Ismael and a Gustavo are super friendly and informative. The Ambiance is the best Think Mexico Style in Orange County. We had the chance to see Bliss Band with Vanessa from Tease perform and they got down!! Definitely coming back again to try their Karaoke night on Thursday's.

Gotta say, this was a pretty cool place! Since the weather has been pretty hot, we decided to sit outside. The Margarita Flight has an aesthetic presentation however the drinks were STRONG. Wish I tasted more of the fruity flavors instead of pure alcohol. The Pepino one was probably the best tasting out of the four. I was skeptical about the nachos but the asada was REALLY GOOD! The meat was flavorful and tender. The ceviche tasted really bland, almost nothing. My friend who doesn't like seafood whatsoever had no trouble eating it because it had zero flavor. Would recommend to skip this next time. Not pictured but we last ordered the Mangonada Slushie because I saw another table had them and it looked so tasty! Unfortunately the mango taste was lacking and it was mostly alcohol :( I would definitely come again because the vibes were great. The food and drinks are more on the pricier side though. But they even had a live band playing inside playing Latin bangers (according to my friends).

Sunday April 5, 2026 for my Easter and Pre Birthday celebration at Kalaveras in Fullerton california with family. Had such a wonderful day the food and cocktails and service was outstanding can't wait to return. Emmanuel (Manny) our waiter was friendly and kind and had helpful advice regarding menu selections and cocktails. Manny was attentive and polite and had outstanding customer service and should be applauded and appreciated for his hospitality and service to the restaurant. I felt so special today and the happy birthday Duck was too to cute The ambiance was amazingly beautiful and comforting Thank you Kavaleras!!!

We stopped in to kick off our weekend after work and had a great time. Everyone we met was so nice and welcoming, it honestly felt like hanging out at a friend's house. Salvador and Theresa were amazing bartenders, checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the empanadas and my boyfriend got the Kala Burrito. He was very happy with his meal, and the empanadas were super flavorful. We'll definitely be back!

Stopped by for a late night dinner. We ordered a few dishes and these were all great portions and tasty. The staff provide friendly service, the manager made his rounds and greeted the tables. There was a separate room with a DJ paying some nice tunes so we stayed after dinner for drinks and dancing. Overall fun ambiance and cool wall graffiti art. There's plenty of paid parking both in the back private lot and a few free in the front street. Disability accessible and a day time patio.

The fruit included were watermelon, strawberries, mango and blueberries. The mango was not ripe yet. It was too firm. Other than that, I enjoyed the fruit. 9/10 My husband got the California burrito. He didn't like it. He said it tasted like French fries. He wouldn't order that again. 4/10 My husband ordered the taquitos and he loved those. The taquitos were very crispy. Great flavor and filled with a good amount of meat. 10/10 Overall, not bad. Service was good. We had all the condiments and utensils.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while based on the great reviews I've seen, so I took the opportunity to treat a friend to a birthday brunch this past Sunday. I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately, I left feeling underwhelmed. It was supposed to be a beautiful, warm day, so I made a reservation for patio seating. When we arrived, the patio wasn't set up, and we were escorted to the main dining room instead. That was fine at first, as it was cool and comfortable but as the restaurant quickly filled up, it became quite stuffy, which was a bit disappointing. Since the restaurant was busy, I anticipated that service might be a little slow. We were there to celebrate and catch up, so timing wasn't a major concern. However, we didn't receive water until at least 10-15 minutes after being seated, and the chips and salsa arrived sometime later. We each ordered a mimosa flight, but only one arrived at first. The staff apologized and explained that the bar was backed up, so we shared until the second flight came out. Unfortunately, all of the drinks were served at room temperature. Beautifully presented, but not very enjoyable. As for the food, my dish came out several minutes before my friend's so mine was almost room temperature before we both began eating. My one friend said the chilaquiles were good and the other seemed to think the tacos were okay. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. It had good flavor, but it was very dry, which made it unappetizing. I only finished half despite being hungry. I'm not wasting calories on meh food. On a positive note, the service staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. The team came by to celebrate my friend with a song, a complimentary dessert, and a $10 celebratory shot (upon request), which was a fun touch. However, despite the great ambiance and kind service, the overall experience didn't quite meet expectations, and I likely wouldn't return.

I came here the other day to celebrate a friend birthday and I had such a wonderful time! The parking is a little crowded since it is downtown Fullerton, so it took about 30 min to get parking and we were rushing to get to the bottomless mimosas that ended at 2 and we got there at 1! We were seated almost immediately and right away Lucia took our order and made sure we got enough of the mimosas to make it worth our while! Overall had a wonderful time would 100% recommend! We were at the Rams/Chargers game at SoFi but didn't want to eat out there since I live in the OC and it was late. We decided to go to downtown Fullerton and this place looks lively. We ordered a tama-lindo margarita and a la Kalavera which is just a regular margarita. Both were sooooo good! Best margaritas I've had! For food we had the Barbacoa entree and the Lomo Saltado. I've never had either and these were delish! Definitely going to come back and try more items! Service was excellent! Food came out fast and our waiter was attentive. Watch out for the servers, they will add the gratuity in your receipt, which is fine, but when you hand out the credit card they will give you the final receipt with a total amount that already includes the gratuity but without the items that you have consumed. How does a place that says it's closes at 2am turn me and my girlfriend away when I'm taking her there on her bday at 11:49 pm and have security tells us they're closing. Only to see a another couple go in and sat down and not get turn away 10 mins later while we are outside waiting for our Lyft home. I was served wine and unclean glass one I notified the bartender he acted as if it was my fault. He looked at me and said no the glasses clean after I told him how I felt all he needed to do was treat me how he would want someone to treat his mob or anyone else. We had such a great experience at Kalaveras in Fullerton. Our server Junior was amazing and made us feel taken care of from the moment we sat down. The food was delicious and especially impressive for the price point. Everything came out hot and flavorful without feeling heavy. Came here this past weekend for the first time to have some food and drinks. Food was nothing to rave about and the drinks were OK. Reason for the 1 star is I checked my credit card statement this morning and they added $20 more to the total bill for an extra tip on top of the tip I already gave them. We have been to other locations, and decided to try Sunday brunch here. They have been making some changes, but in the process, they are more than accommodating. Our server Roberto was soooo kind! He laughed along with our jokes and had the best recommendations. He is absolutely a reason we would come back! The food and drinks are always delicious. This location has really fresh and quality items. Definitely recommend! Plus, it isn't too loud or too chaotic. But has a really great vibe. Street parking is easy and there are lots close by in case street is full. read more

Truthfully, I've been boycotting this spot in Fullerton. To be fair, mostly just because I was such a big fan of the venue whose place it took: Slidebar, RIP. The second reason was because of less-than-great experience at different Kalaveras a couple years ago. I am happy to report, this was unfair. We sat on the patio today, with a loud (and arguably unruly) crew, and we were immediately greeted by a team of upbeat, friendly professionals! Ismael is running a tight ship, and Junior knocked it out of the park. We had delicious margaritas, loaded asada fries, and nachos. The happy margaritas tasted super fresh and clean, the fries far surpassed what I'd expected, and the nachos were what they needed to be. The patio wasn't as sunny as we'd hoped, but Junior's service brought all the light we needed. read more

Omg had an absolutely lovely brunch experience! I had the chilaquiles and they were delicious. Lucia was our bartender and made the most amazing Blood Orange Mojito's. I dislike premade drinks and she was great and made them at the bar (as they should be but have had had experiences at other brunch spots). We accidentally received the wrong order and the Manager Gustavo was on top of it and remediated the situation immediately and successfully. Best brunch experience!!!!! read more

The door is very well hidden, I thought it'd be in a basement around the corner or something. The space is really small, so big groups are not advised. I had the niña fresa, a strawberries and creme type drink. Delicious! If you like sweet drinks, otherwise do not get it. I had the Saturn afterwards. Still a little sweet, but mostly sour. The server came by to say that we only had 25 min left, so we hurriedly ordered a last drink. But when he delivered it, it magically became 5 min! I chugged my drink and was ushered out the door. Overall it was pretty nice but I didn't enjoy having to rush at the very end.

Look for the entrance on the west side of the building with a red entrance and Chapter 4 projection logo on the sidewalk. You can make a reservation on their website. We walked in and were greeted immediately. Seating options include tall chairs at the bar, low booths along the front wall across from the bar, and various tables in the main lounge area. All of the chairs look very comfortable. We sat in one of the booths across from the bar. It has a great vibe inside with a dark ceiling and walls, and is lit on the dimmer side. There was light lounge/soft jazz music playing when we visited. They also have live jazz music on some nights. A bowl of nuts, water, and menus arrived quickly. They have a great menu of house-curated cocktails, their spins on classic cocktails, and a large list of whiskeys and other spirits. They also have several food items on the menu. They have private liquor lockers available to store personal bottles for members Before I continue, I have to say that JC, one of the owners, who greeted us and was our server all evening, provided outstanding hospitality. While researching their bar menu online, we saw the cloud cocktail which had a very unique presentation with a burning ember cloud-like display. We came for my girlfriend's birthday, and she knew that would be her first drink. Unfortunately when we tried to order it, they were out of the gas for it. We noticed that the physical menu was a little different than the online menu. Apparently they had just changed the menu and had not updated the website yet. She wanted the Dirty Dill which wasn't on the new cocktail menu, but they were still able to make it. Dirty Dill (Gin, Vodka, Lemon, Pickle Juice, Olive Juice, Milk Washed & Clarified, $19). We could smell pickle on the nose, but when we took a sip, it was very boozy with little pickle or olive flavor. We asked if they could add some more pickle juice, and JC brought us a big shot glass of pickle juice so she could adjust it to her liking. She liked it once she added some more pickle juice. I started out with the Cococacaocoladaclara cocktail (Cacao-Infused Rum, Orange Liquor, Pineapple & Lime Juice, Coconut Milk Clarified, $18). This wasn't quite what I was expecting, and I had a hard time picking out the flavors. It was definitely strong and boozy. We were finishing our first round when we spotted JC walking towards our table with a cloud! He managed to find whatever it takes to make the effect, and we were very appreciative. I have seen a lot of presentations, and this was definitely a unique one. The birthday shot was very good, and he said the ingredients were mezcal, lavender, and lemon. Old Fashioneds have been growing on me lately. After the great presentation of the cloud, I had to try the Sinatra Old Fashioned (Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select, one dash of chocolate Bitters, $40). It is served in a rotating crystal glass, lit from underneath, with a clear ice sphere. Again, the presentation was great, and it was the smoothest old fashioned I've ever had. She had her eye on the Tuk Tuk for her second drink (Coconut Fat Washed Rum, Supasawa, Pandan Syrup, Mango Syrup, Rice Garnish, $18). She asked if it was very sweet, and he said that it was indeed quite sweet. Instead, she opted for the Firefox (Vodka, Pomegranate, Lemon, Vanila, Rose Liquor, Cherry Bitters, $18). Once again, this cocktail had a great presentation. It's served in a short, wide glass that sits perfectly on top of a piece of petrified-looking wood. You hold the glass with both hands and sip it like a bowl of soup. It was very balanced and smooth, with a nice tartness and light sweetness. JC stopped by again to check on our second round. A few minutes later he surprised us again, and returned with shot sized versions of the Tuk Tuk to sample. It was definitely on the sweeter side with good coconut and pandan flavor. We probably would have tried a third round, but we had dinner and a drink before coming here. Their menu of house-curated cocktails is impressive, and features many uncommon ingredients. We had a good time, but JC went the extra mile for us all night long and made it a great time. We will definitely return again.

My family and I decided to visit for the first time for British cuisine. It's not a far departure…read morefrom foods of other cultures around the locality, but you'll notice differences between British and American English, for example. Many of their dishes include chips, which during my visit, resembled steak fries due to their thickness. You'll also see that curry is a signature dish in the menu, which reflects how Anglo-Indian cuisine has maintained popular influence in the United Kingdom. I ordered Cutty Sark's curry with chicken, rice, and chips at medium spice. The name is derived from a British merchant vessel that operated during the late 1800s. The curry had a mix of savory and sweet flavors, which reminded me of both Japanese and Indian cuisines at the same time. I couldn't say with certainty that the curry fit into just one cuisine. Packed with some heat and bold in spice, it's a delightful and large dish if you desire a lot of flavor. Where the curry went a little off course was the addition of celery. The petiole is strongly flavored and distracts from the curry in my perhaps controversial opinion. Curry seems to better mix with potatoes and carrots. I tried some of the bacon sarnie as well. The word "sarnie" is an affectionate diminutive for "sandwich." American bacon usually comes from pork belly, which provides a flavorful yet oily crispiness. However, the British variant usually comes from the loin, which is meatier and leaner. I thought of the bacon here as similar to a savory ham. The sarnie bread is fried in fat to emphasize buttery flavor. The restaurant, filled with English decorations, has the style of a cozy and dim pub. There's a good amount of small wooden booths with cracked leather seating. Our server was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed despite the busyness of the restaurant. For example, my curry came with a chutney, and I had asked for a lid to take it home. While I forgot to take the chutney home, she went outside as she noticed that we took the back exit to look at their double-decker bus. She even offered to take a picture of us. The service deserves a lot of kudos, and we were grateful for her consideration.

The service was very slow and we only had one water refill, despite asking repeatedly, in almost 3 hours. They were also out of multiple items including scotch eggs, sausage rolls, steak and ale pies, and sticky coffee pudding (they only had two). We never received our scotch eggs and sausage rolls and it wasn't until I asked about them after the entrees came that I was told they had run out. And we were never told that the beef wellington, which we ordered in place of the steak and ale pies that they had run out of, was almost $20 more than the steak and ale pies. Then, the bill came and the scotch eggs and sausage rolls were still on the bill, which I failed to notice at the time, so we had to return and ask for a credit for those two items. This was the worst experience we've had at this restaurant. We've had the blonde waitress before and she can be abrupt but this time, she crossed the line into being downright rude and we all felt unwelcome as a result. And to receive the treatment and have this many issues while celebrating special family events was disappointing. I'm not sure if and when I'll be back after the poor treatment we received which is a shame because I do love their food.

I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the strangest I've had. It tasted like the orange had been muddled into the drink, and the sugar was sitting undissolved at the bottom of the glass. For such a classic and simple cocktail, I expected it to be made much better. The calamari was just okay. Some pieces were soggy, as if they hadn't been cooked long enough, while others were a bit chewy. The pasta also didn't seem to be made in-house. At nearly $40 for an entrée, it felt overpriced, especially when there are several nearby restaurants that make their pasta from scratch for a similar or lower price. Our waitress did her best despite seeming overwhelmed and having some difficulty with the portable POS system. She remained polite and attentive, so I don't fault her for the experience. Overall, this wasn't the quality we remembered, and unfortunately, we won't be returning.

What started as a lovely day here became terrible. Our reservation was for 630. Our waitress took our order. An hour goes by she sees us .. she sees we don't have food but never during our time there did she check on us.. she tells us they are out of what I wanted .. by this time we've started our second drink thinking our food will arrive ... it's an hour later you tell us that we need to change my order but still didn't bring out the rest of the food.. she literally forgot to put the order in ... the manager didn't make it any better his excuse was there were two big parties on the other side ... but the table behind us ordered way after us and had their skillet.. The waitress never apologized.. what she did say, "they can make you some food really quickly" as if that were any better when we still had not received the other dishes we were also waiting on. needless to say it was an awful experience , highly disappointed in management and staffing. Went for Taco Tuesday, on the 17th of this month. First time going there since Slidebar Rock n Roll bar was closed down. The restaurant is done up in a really cool way. The main eating area is real cool. The booths are spacious, can fit like 6 to 8 guests easily. Really comfortable. The atmosphere was very chill and easy going. The tacos were really good, my fave though, is the carnitas taco. With that said, the most impressive feature of this joint was the service provided by Vanessa L. Her demeaner is very friendly, kind and inviting. Her smile and behavior was very genuine and she made us feel welcomed. Kudos to Juan as well. Very kind and friendly as well. Overall, first impression was awesome. Looking forward to coming back again for Taco Tuesday. Definitely worth coming by for a chill evening. On the weekend I believe there is live Latin music, if that is your thing, come check it out. I get the vibe that one will have a good time with friends. read more

Writing I had a wonderful experience at Calaveras Restaurant thanks to the outstanding service from Anna and Alan. From the moment we sat down, they were attentive, gracious, and genuinely welcoming. The service was thorough without ever feeling rushed, and it was clear they really cared about making sure everything was perfect. We ordered the aguachiles verdes and the chilaquiles rojos, and both dishes were absolutely beautiful and full of flavor. The presentation was impressive, and you could tell a lot of care went into the food. What really stood out was how well the whole team worked together. Came to Kalaveras and had the most bomb drink called the Bronny Special -- named after the best bartender, Bronny! He was seriously the highlight of the night. Super funny, incredibly sweet, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. The drinks were amazing and his energy behind the bar made the whole experience even better. If you come here, definitely ask for the Bronny Special... you won't regret it! Also want to give a shoutout to Gustavo the manager, who was so kind and respectful. He came by to check on us and made sure everything was perfect. It's always nice to see management that actually cares about the guests and the atmosphere. Omg! I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. The service was on point and the drinks were exceptional. I'm no stranger to kalaveras, however, this is my first time at the Fullerton location. The Defoe is better and the ambiance is super chill. They let me know that taco Tuesday's here are crazy and karaoke night is a force to be reckoned with on its own. I love margarita Mondays and this location has the best ones so far. They do not skimp out on the liquor. I love a heavy handed bartender. When you come here Emmanuel will take great care of you. We had such a great experience at the Fullerton location! Our server Yatzin was amazing super friendly, attentive, and really helpful. She took the time to recommend her personal favorites, and we're so glad she did. The passionfruit candy shot she suggested was so good, honestly a must-try. Or server, Isabel, was awesome. She was friendly and informative and our food came out in good time and piping hot. Their food was spot on I got the shrimp taco and the Al Pastor taco and they were both delicious! My daughter had the other shrimp tacos with cheese and cabbage (I forgot what they are called) and her partner ordered the Chilaquiles off the brunch menu and both said they were really good. We had such a good time here! Our waiter, Junior, was amazing -- super attentive and patient even when one person in our group showed up an hour late. He made sure everyone's dietary restrictions were handled and still kept a great attitude the whole night. The Bad Bunny music was on point, and the whole vibe was hitting. Our first visit to this location was a delightful experience. Our waitress was exceptionally helpful, and the food was delicious. But the real highlight was the drinks. We tried the margarita flight, and the margaritas were sweet and delectable. The watermelon shots were also amazing. Came into town from Michigan & was craving the Enchiladas de Camaron. They were just as creamy and delicious as I remember. I ordered the esquite and breakfast tacos for my baby girl, my mom ordered the enchiladas and we all wiped our plates clean! The service was top tier too! Our favorite Downtown Fullerton location for happy hour is Kalaveras! They have great tasting food, good mixed drinks and excellent customer service. Our server Ronnie/Jr was energetic and friendly during our recent taco Tuesday visit. The manager Gustavo was also involved going to every table to make sure everything was good. After waiting a long while for this restaurant to open I finally got to visit!! From the moment we sat down Our server Rosie provided us with amazing customer service. The food she suggested was superb ( salmon & albondigas), She also recommended a margarita flight. Music selection was excellent. Overall a great experience.
