Costco referred me to this shop a couple years ago because of a problem with one of my wheels when they rotated the tires. I figured if Costco uses them, they must be good. Since that repair went well, I decided to have them do an alignment on my SUV. I was able to schedule the appointment for the following day and it took just a short time. This place is amazing. I have a 1974 pickup, and I've had these fellas do all of the chassis work that I've been too preoccupied or ill equipped to handle myself. I just brought it for an alignment job following a control arm replacement, and it proved to be a bit challenging. My steering gear is a bit worn(i.e. loose), which is an inconvenience to getting the alignment correct. I felt it was a little bit off, so I brought it back a second time. Chris spent nearly 3 hours getting it spot on perfect for me. With saintly patience, he readjusted it through 5 nitpicking test rides by me, and did not charge anything additional for the added effort that was required. Vance from Discount Tire recommended this place to me after someone tried removing the lug nuts off my front passenger tire. This could have been a terrible accident since my front tire only had one lug nut on it. I spoke to one of the owners here and he was able to get me in the following day and called me within two hours of the business opening to let me know my car was done and ready to be picked up. I asked what the cost would be and he said it was free - parts and labor. Other places would have charged me $200 to even look at my car and another $200-$300 for the parts and labor. Free isn't a word you hear from auto repair shops. This is one of the most honest auto repair shops I have ever been to in my life. Took my car there to get it looked at because an alignment shop told me my frame was bent. Kalberer looked at the car and said all I needed was a new control arm ($500-$800 dollars cheaper). They could have taken me for a ride, "fixing" the bent frame and made a bit of money. They didn't even charge me for diagnosing the problem and tried to turn down my $20 tip. Kalberer was a recommended business for a line up I needed to have done 3 years ago. Their business serves with as much integrity now as they did then, as I went in for another line up 2/03/2021. I cannot emphasize enough just how HAPPY I am with them. This is by far the most HONEST business I have ever been to! I was turned down for the alignment because the job they did 3 years ago was still great! Any other business would have taken that money and done the alignment regardless of if i needed one or not. They also took time to let me know about additional problems that may need fixed and instead of pushing sales, I was the one who had the opportunity to ask for the estimate. Place is a scam. Was told 60$ over the phone. After I arrived they tested it and told the car was fine and didn't need alignment. I asked if he was sure. He then proceeded to twister a wrench four minutes later charged me $80. Never coming back. Scam artists. read more

Old school shop, they do great work what else can I say. I brought my stance car in here after doing some front end suspension work, these guys pulled it in their shop then adjusted it then drove it and repeated this 3 times. I was impressed by their effort to make sure the car was straight and drove right. I am impressed, and that's saying a lot since I'm hard to please. First of all let me start by saying that I called in around 11 am to make an appointment for 2pm and the person who answered the phone was really short and had no sense in customer service...I arrive 10 minutes early to my 2pm appointment and park then I'm rudely greeted by what I think is one of their mechanics, I tell him that I am there for my 2pm alignment appointment and he says "well you'll have to wait ,it's probably going to be a while we are super slammed" at that point I had no choice but to wait since I drove all the way from Beaverton for this $35 alignment all my friends had been telling me about.... 25 minutes later another mechanic comes to get my keys from me and just takes off in my car speeding down the street...WTF!!! At that point I just wanted to leave and take my car elsewhere but they had already started tweaking things around in the suspension to align my car.. While they're working on my car the mechanic tells me that my car has some camber but there is no alignment for that....(NOT TRUE) Well pretty much my car is somewhat aligned but idk how accurate since no lasers were used and they only aligned the toe.... $35 for an alignment might seem like a great deal but I would much rather spend the 89.99 I usually pay at my regular shop to get it done right and with a warranty!! Now I'm having to spend an additional 89.99 to re-align my car since these guys can't adjust camber.... You get what you pay for I guess! read more

Took my Subaru WRX in here for an alignment after I put on aftermarket suspension, and nothing changed after they did my alignment. The steering still hugged the right side, while my steering wheel still wasn't centered correctly. They don't have a proper alignment rack, and also, the staff is unfriendly. It was only $40, but you get what you pay for. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to waste your money. read more

My old blue Volvo with a complete rebuilt off road set up needed an alignment. They got this IPD set up so tight it is now a car to contend with around town. Took me a while to get used to it being so fast in it's responses that I thought that it was not perfect. After around 10K in tire wear being perfect all the way around with less wear than avearge on the tires I am going back to have my new truck done. Old School shop, may take time but it will be right. Wow. Worst alignment ever. I just bought a brand new Tacoma and installed a lift kit with adjustable caster and camber upper control arms. Per the instructions that came the control arms, if you max out the factory caster adjustment and adjust the caster using the new control arms you can maximize tire clearance in the rear of the fender well. I gave them the sheet that came with the new upper arms and they said they would adjust caster in that fashion. After the alignment I asked the mechanic how adjusting the upper arms went. He said it went well. Upon leaving the shop I noticed my steering wheel was no longer centered and the truck pulled to the right. When I got home I checked to see what the upper arm adjustment settings were at. He did not adjust them at all, they were in the exact position I set them in after installing the lift kit. On top of that they did not adjust camber either, both front wheels have visually noticeable positive camber... this shop is a joke. Now I have to get my truck realigned again... read more

The mechanic not only checked it out but he realigned my car in like 5 minutes. He had 2 other clients but he still got the job done in about 15-20 min. of waiting total. He's a nice & honest guy. This place is amazing!!!! I have gone to this place twice to get a front end alignment on my car. First time I called to schedule an appointment and the guy said "are you free now?" Sure enough with in 1 hour it was complete. The next time my front end was off or so I thought. I scheduled the time a day out. The same guy worked on my car. This time within 15 minutes he was back. I just needed a tire rotation due to a new tire. My alignment was fine. He charged half charge of a tire alignment and I was on my way. He is friendly, quick and honest!!!!! Not sure why there are any bad reviews. Kalberer is the go-to alignment shop for many auto repair, tire and lift shops in Portland. Like others, I brought my car here and he sent me home saying I needed NOTHING. When asked he wanted no money. Yeah its a shop, and a good old school shop at that. Yes you will see remnants of other repairs and projects. This ain't no chain store and yes they're often busy and no they don't come running to your car in a pressed white uniform. Bottom line is other shops whose reputations are also on the line continue to endorse and recommend Kalberer. Thats why Im headed there again today! read more

They are one of the best in town and at the price of 43$ how can you beat it! Today I was in to get a alignment after installing a lift on my 4runner, I got a alignment about two months back after replacing my ball joints and left the receipt on the on passenger seat . He parked it in the garage and checked the alignment . He drove it out 10 minutes later and told me my car doesn't need an alignment and He didn't charge me for anything . Horrible and very unprofessional first experience. Was recommended by discount tire and some people online. Had an appointment for 2 days, showed up, the guys takes my keys and I simply ask him to be careful with my car because it has a front splitter. He asks me which car and I show him. As soon as I did he said oh no someone else was supposed to do that. Gonna have to be Tuesday. Another 3 days driving without alignment but was fully willing to do joe schmoes car. Very very disappointed as a first time customer. Not sure if this place is all it's cracked up to be. They need some type of office personnel. These guys don't know what they're doing it'll coast you more to fix their work. It just needed a simple alignment they tried telling me I needed all this new stuff like brake rotors and new trailing arm bushing. I took my car to the dealership and they showed me while the car was on the lift that the bushings stuffed worry thing we're just fine my rotors did not have a crack in them like Tony at kalberer tried to tell me, never again do not take your car to this place. read more
