Looking for good Hainan Chicken rice? Try thos place.. The chicken meat are tender and tasteful. We love the sides that comes with it and you can ask for extra. The place is small but, the food is truly amazing. The price is reasonable. Though the place is small I will give them 4.8 because of food quality.

The food here is so good! We got both the hainan chicken and fried chicken with curry. Both plates were phenomenal. I can't believe we didn't check this place out sooner. You gotta check this spot out.

Kao Mun Gai is just okay. It's Hainan chicken, so the bar is already pretty specific, and this didn't quite clear it. They have a self order kiosk where you put your order in and they bring it out to you, which is a smooth enough process. What really brought the rating down was the rice and the chicken broth that came with the meal. Both were just okay, missing that deep chicken flavor I'm looking for in a dish like this. When the broth is flat, the whole meal feels like it's missing its backbone.

Limited seating and , limited parking. Also a little hard to find. This place has a mom and pop cafe vibe. I got the half and half, Mixed fried and pouched chicken The fried chicken was ok, the pouched chicken was pretty on brand for hainan style. ( It was pretty good) The soup was very salty, I didn't like it at all. There is a self help ordering kiosk, but if you feel like talking to a human and ask questions the waiter there was super helpful.

I love this little place!!! Always lovely service, and limited cozy seating. The food is absolutely delicious! My favorites are definitely the braised/fried chicken combo with all the sauces and the pickled cabbage is so crisp, tangy and fresh! The curry is so delicious too, if you're a fan of Japanese style curry! Love this place!

Love the simplicity of Hainan chicken and rice. This place is a small hole in the wall with seating for ten people only. It is set up more for takeout than dine in. Minimal in decor but clean and efficient. Ordering is easy on the electronic pad. It's DIY when it comes to getting utensils and napkins. There is free water available in a large dispenser. I ordered their White and Dark Meat Chicken and Rice. The poached chicken was tender and juicy. I liked the dark meat better but the breast was also perfectly cooked. The chicken flavored rice was absolutely the best! It had a lot of flavor with every bite. The meal came with their signature sauces. It would be hard to decide which of their sauces tasted the best since all were good for different reasons. The sauces used fresh ginger, garlic, and onions and were nicely balanced in sweet, salty, and spicy flavors. A small portion of pickled cabbage and carrot also came with the meal. Excellent accompaniments to the simple poached chicken and rice. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall. Restaurant staff are friendly and welcoming. Definite all around hidden gem of a restaurant.

This place is awesome! It's tucked in a small little plaza. A very unassuming, hole-in-the-wall spot. Upon entering, it is a bit stuffy. From what I remember, there were maybe 2-3 tables. Definitely more of a take-out spot, if anything. I asked what was the most popular as it was my first time. The combo seemed to have the best of both worlds -- fried and poached over rice. I've had Hainan chicken and this is the Thai version of it. Really delicious stuff. The rice was flavorful as it was definitely cooked in chicken broth. The fried chicken and poached chicken were solid. I prefer the scallion sauce, but to each their own. Next time, I think I'll just do poached chicken. Super flavorful and filling.

Wow! It is a 10/10. Super authentic Hainan chicken dish. The chicken is poached perfectly and placed on top of the broth flavored rice. You can ask for skinless, dark, white, or both. I ordered dark and white meat (#4). Came boneless and nicely sliced up. The ginger scallion sauce was a great pairing. This was comfort food growing up and I feel so lucky to be able to enjoy this in my own neighborhood . $15.95.

This place was amazing! It was super clean inside and very neat and organized. A hole in the wall place for sure and worth the visit! Food: 10/10 was super delicious. The best chicken and rice I've ever had! They had so many side and sauces to choose from (all free and unlimited!) the green sauce was my favorite and definitely need two! The chicken was so tender and fragrant. The skin wasn't too much of a bother and was thin. The rice was perfectly cooked not too hard or soft! Service: top notch and super friendly. Small hole in the wall. It's better to order ahead to go than to eat inside. There's no more than 5 seats and people can easily hear your conversation. Chicken is soft. Sauces are good. Orange is tangy and full of garlic. Middle sauce is oil, salt and scallions. Brown sauce at first tasted on the sweeter side but the ginger slowly build heat. The rice was a little hard so I added the clear broth on top to soften it up. Over all its good for a quick Hainan chicken rice.

I found this spot while I was out shopping Glendora! The dude that helped me pick my dish was Keith and he was a super nice guy. The restaurant seemed clean inside and ample parking up front. I got the White Meat Hainan chicken and it was pretty good.

Healthy tasty and high protein = right up my alley. Stopped by for a quick lunch and glad I did. I'm always up for trying chicken and rice whenever I see it. Causal, order at the counter with the tablet and self serve water works for me. Lowers the overall cost of eating out but it's fast food style that's good for you and filling! I really enjoyed my dark meat chicken and rice. The rice was excellent and well seasoned and chicken moist with what was one of the best ginger scallion sauces I've had in a while. Every sauce was so good and you can order every type at no extra cost. The chicken soup noodle was good and soothing with tons of Napa/vegetable but personally I'd repeat ordering the chicken rice. Good service and quick preparation time! Perfect for a quick meal that's again super reasonable and yummy.

Wow this was honestly such a great meal from the soup to the chicken & rice. My bf and I both ordered the half fried chicken and half poached chicken rice. I really like the soup that they gave on the side , it was really comforting. The chicken was really good, especially the poached one. Chicken was really juicy. The sauces that came with it were all delicious. We got the green Thai tea to try and it was so refreshing but make sure to dilute with ice because it's really sweet. I would definitely come back here again when I am in the area. There's lot of parking in the plaza

I loved it, kinda. This is a straight to the point place. If you go here, it is because you really need a Hainan chicken fix. Delicious, tender, great flavor, and the sauce MAKES THE DISH. Yummy. However, it stops there. If you are okay paying these prices for what I will call a "snack" then this is the place for you. I give it 4 star is because the value is not there. I ate it, I enjoyed it, and was still hungry. If you look at it, the amount of chicken is so little compared to a combo plate at a Hawaiian BBQ place. Granted they are different markets, but I hope you get the point. I drive by this place ALL THE TIME. For sure, it is short of becoming a regular place purely on value. I cannot bring myself to pay this amount knowing I will still be hungry knowing most typical places in this price range will feed me satisfactorily. read more

2nd time doing take out. By far the Best Chicken and Rice in SoCal, we've tried so many shops and this is the closest thing to the real thing in Thailand. 10/10 recommend. Just come in and order. It's worth it. Food was tender and juicy I've been waiting for a good hainan chicken to arrive in Azusa and I'm glad they're here. The owner always greets me when I enter. Very kind and respectable. I get the dark meat with rice extra scallion and ginger sauce with a side order of extra chicken meat. Appears to be a small family owned business located in a small shopping mall. Parking is hit and miss. Restaurant has limited seating. The service was helpful with choosing items. My hubby and I are on a mission to try new eateries local to us. We have never heard of Hainan chicken so we wanted to it. We ordered the poached chicken plate. The curry chicken plate. Garlic chicken. Chicken wings. Reg fried chicken. 4 of the 5 dishes are fried. I think because of that, they all tasted the same. We ordered to go so the sauces were on the side. The sweet & spicy sauce was average. So were the teriyaki, and the mayo sauces. The stand out sauces were the brown ginger flavor sauce and the spicy vinegar like sauce. Small restaurant that serves Hainan chicken. There's only 2 tables with an occupancy of like 8. I ordered their half Hainan dark meat chicken and half fried chicken (tempura style batter). It comes with a lightly pickled vegetables, a sweet chili sauce, garlic oil, and if I had to guess, some kind of char siu or housin sauce with a broth soup on the side. Everything was delicious, except the rice seemed a bit mushy, to my liking, personally. Self serving water station with utensils and no fountain drink, just a refrigerated drinks. read more

The service was great, the person helping us was friendly and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Hainan chicken plate with white and dark meat. It's simple but so flavorful. The scallion sauce and spicy sauce were on point. I usually have a regular soy sauce with this as well, but they had a sweeter soy based sauce. The rice was seasoned with the chicken broth and was well balanced in flavor. The dish comes with a cup of the chicken broth in the side as well. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself is small with enough seating for max 12 people. You can order with the person working it use the self service kiosk/menu pad. There's not a huge selection of items on the menu but, I'll be back to try the other chicken dishes available. read more

We were looking for something to eat in the area and came across this place on Yelp. We have had many Hainan chicken/poached chicken style dishes and did not expect to be SO pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted! And we didn't have to drive deep into LA or OC to get it! We also just so happened to be looking for someone to cater for an upcoming event, so we inquired with Keith who served us (who we believe is the owner). He was very kind and inviting when we walked in with our family, always smiling, great hospitality. Fast forward to our event, everything went smoothly upon pick up and the food tasted AMAZING. All of our guests raved about it, asked where we catered from, and some even went out of their way to go visit his restaurant that same day for dinner. We ordered both the crispy and poached chicken along with rice and soup. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple yet flavorful meal! When I saw that there was a chicken and rice place in Glendora, I had to try it out. I ordered the steamed chicken rice meal that had the chicken, rice, the sauces, soup, and soda. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, rice was also packed with flavor and compliments the chicken really well. Along the three sauces my favorite was the ginger scallion one, just the right amount of saltiness to go with the chicken. My new favorite chicken rice place stateside! I've been to many chicken rice shops around LA, and most, to be honest, do not do it well. They either overcook the chicken leaving it extremely dry or the rice is overcooked and bland. Having lived in Singapore for several years before, nothing here compares to the chicken rice in Singapore, except this shop. My wife and I have tried all the usual famous ones around SoCal, including Savoy, which we are not a fan of. Our previous favorite was cluck2go, but this place is in a league of its own! This is our go to spot for a healthy meal. The chicken is cooked to perfection, soup is aromatic, and the sauces are soooooo delicious. Keith is so kind and attentive and always remembers our order! This lil hole in the wall restaurant makes me feel like home and we get take out from here at least twice a week if not more. Will always be in our top favorite places. read more

Wow so happy to find this hidden gem in the area!!! Food is authentic. Simple but sooo delicious. I used to go to another Hainan Chicken place in Alhambra called Savoy's Kitchen. This place is a great replacement for me. Dare I say, even better! Though savoy's will always have a special place in my heart for nostalgia. I ordered the thigh & rice meal. The portion was generous and I loved the 3 sauces it came with. My husband ordered the half & half (have regular Hainan chicken and half fried chicken). I had a bite of his fried chicken to try and I also thoroughly enjoyed that with the sweet & spicy sauce. Definitely will be a go to spot for us on days we don't feel like cooking but want delicious clean eats. Service was also great. Order came out fairly quickly. The young gentleman that helped us was so kind and gave my toddler a small serving of soup for free. Absolutely will be back again & highly recommend! read more

A hidden gem nestled next to a 7-11. I have ordered food from here twice and both times have been excellent. I ordered the half poached dark meat and white meat plate that came with seasoned rice, pickled vegetables, ginger scallion sauce, spicy sweet sauce, spicy bean sauce, and chicken soup. Both the dark meat and white meat chicken were very tender and well seasoned. The rice and soup are delicious. The sauces help balance everything out. The service is also great! Each time the staff have been attentive and had the order ready promptly. Overall great food and great service. Will come back! read more

If you want fancy, this ain't it. However, if you're looking for no frills good Hainan chicken with a twist, this is it chief. Price is extremely fair (~$16) considering how expensive everything in the area is and it's actually a decently healthy enough choice too compared to that Jersey Mike's across the parking lot. Ordered to go. All white meat chicken plate. White meat not dry at all very Juicy! The dark meat chicken was good as well and ordered the garlic fried chicken, which has great flavor and crispy. The 3 sauces that were included with the meal were good too, onion oil not too salty, the 2 spicy sauces were also very flavorful. We also tried the mango sticky rice, which, from my understanding, is a limited option based on what is made and availability. The service was great! The workers there were friendly and attentive, and made our experience enjoyable. Since we went during their grand opening (this post is delayed), we also received a free soda with each entree! I also never got my drink refilled because of this. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so I was surprised by the lack of attentiveness. Overall, this restaurant is a solid choice for authentic, tasty Thai food. I would like to give it another try in the near future, and I hope the service improves by then.
