I have a 1992 Lexus SC300. I have had it since 1994, it has 162,000 miles. One day it started missing. I took it to Karco. They told me it would be $100 to diagnose the problem and recommend a fix. Two days later I was told that a major problem existed. #6 cylinder was bad, cracked head, cracked block or blown head gasket. Further, since this problem was typical with this engine, they recommended replacing the engine with a good used one. Cost for a used engine replacement I was told was about $5000. Since the car really isn't worth $5000, I took it home. My son and I did a compression check, all cylinders were over 200 psi with no decay. The problem couldn't be a bad #6 cylinder as Karco stated. I replaced the plugs, ignition wires and distributor cap, no improvement in the missing. I then took the car to another repair shop in Orange. They couldn't get a code from the computer and concluded the computer was bad. They found a good used computer. Howray!!! The car runs like new. My total bill was less than $400. read more

12/8/20 Today when I disagreed with the additional service to be done on my car when I was trying to make an appointment over the phone for just an oil change. He wanted to charge me $50.00 more over what I normally have paid. Terry told me that they did not want my business. It is not the only time that He was trying to force additional work on my car. When I disagreed I was threatened that He would refuse service on my car. So today He did it again. I asked to speak to a manager and He said no one was there. This was about 1 pm. hmmm I hope every business is so well off in these times that when a customer of 4 years does not agree with the work to be done on their car they can be told to take their business else where. Being it is my money I should be able to decide on what work is done. Obviously NOT here. Watch out ladies. read more

I would not take my Honda anywhere else..even for an oil change. I have been going there for over 20 years, because they are HONEST, and reliable. Finding an honest mechanic is a precious commodity and I totally trust these guys. Some time back, I had the misfortune of getting ripped off by another mechanic who talked me into a costly, totally un-needed repair to another Honda that I owned. Jay alerted me to the horrible job that was done and told me that it was dangerous to drive my car in that condition. Karco fixed my car and even documented the condition of the previous work with pictures, as they did the proper repairs. I sent the pictures to the Dept. of Automotive Repairs and eventually got a full refund for the first job. Needless to say, I am forever grateful and forever loyal to these guys at Karco. I took my wife's Honda Pilot to Weir Canyon Honda to meet the airbag recall requirements. They gave me a report on the car in addition to the airbags. They said I needed all the brakes replaced and transmission plus brake fluid changed, a estimated bill of well over $650. They were shocked when I turned down their offer of fixing it on the spot. I already had my bi-annual check up with Karco in two days. I gave them the dealer diagnosis and ask them to find out what was fact for fiction. I knew I needed front brakes along with regular maintenance and safety check. Once again, I realized how honest these guys are. All I needed was front brake pads and the regular maintenance. Everyone at Karco is wonderful. From the time you walk in the door you are greeted courteously. Both Jay and Terry are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are very clear in explaining what needs to be done and how much it will cost. I always request John as my mechanic, although I am sure all of the mechanics are great, because I know he will take as good care of my car as if it were his own. After he has serviced my car he often comes and tells me what he has found and what he thinks of my car's condition. If my car needs to be left for any period of time, I am always given a ride home and, if needed, a pick-up to retrieve my car. The experience is always very good. In the world of car repairs, Karco is number one in my books. They have been my trusted repair shop for many years. I had a 60,000 mile service a few days ago and to my surprise the car didn't sound right when I got it back. When I took it back they did not give up until they found the source of the problem, which turned out to be a faulty brand new part...nothing to do with their work. For all of the extra labor that the issue caused, I was not charged additional money plus I was given a car to use at no charge. You can count on Karco's honest and skilled work. These guys are the best. Very responsive, honest, and they do a good job. i'm a widow and not mechanically oriented, and they explain what they are doing without talking down to me. The extra touches, such as a comfortable waiting room, the ride home and pick up service, and a clean car at the end of the day rate them a 10 star rating. I agree with all the positive reviews on this page. Integrity, kindness, courtesy, professionalism = Karco and its employees. That one guy who gave a bad review due to the car wash issue must have had a bad day. Ignore him. A simple call to Jay or Terry would have remedied that. read more

I have NEVER, and I repeat NEVER, had an issue with the quality of the work. Also, they are honest and upfront about what is wrong and what it will take to fix the problem; and, explain the pros and cons of waiting, keeping my and my family's safety as top concern.. Karco Specialties on Batavia in Orange is fantastic! It's very difficult finding a mechanic you can trust who doesn't try to upsell! The service was excellent, the facilities both infront of and behind the counter were clean and orderly. Terry was very pleasant and provided impeccable service! The only downfall is they are only open M - F from 8a-530p which isn't convenient with most people's work hours. Despite this minor inconvenience, I will continue to bring my truck there for service! read more

My car needed an oil change asap and Tery was very friendly and accommodating. He was able to get me a same day appointment and held great communication while my car was being serviced. I informed him of my cars issues upon arriving and he was able to find time to do the majority of the corrections. I ended up having my brakes replaced as well and now my car drives better than ever.
