It's always hard shopping for cars online. Of course I want to see it and test drive something first before making any decisions! Found the perfect car at Karplus BUT would I really want to make that drive just to check something out? There's a lot of other car dealerships nearby. I got in contact with their Internet Manager, Don, and he walked me through everything. Their price for my dream car was way below what other were offering so we made the drive down to Pacoima. Don and Rey very helpful and professional from start to finish. It was not as stressful as other dealerships where you feel that everything is getting shoved down your throat! This place is more like swat meat then a car dealership! I look up the CARFAX website and found this place for used pick up trucks! On the CARFAX site it shows very low price. So I called and they said it is still available for that price. So I drove all the way down to the dealer to see and test drive the car! OH MY GODSH! The car was trashed, inside and out! Scratch all over place. Seen like they didn't even go through the car after they bought it in or repo in their inventory. They did not even make any effort to make it nice or clean, and put it out in the market right away try to sell it. People who buy used car is either they don't have too much money or credit problems, the dealer should understand every penny count for their hard earn money, and be respectful at least clean and make the car looks good, so that we feel our money is worth it for those cars! They don't show those effort , means they don't care about you! They just want to try take as much cash from you as they can! On the lot, On the windshield, the price sticker they had on is like $6,000.00 more then they posted on CARFAX website! So I ask the sales to sell me the price that is on CARFAX site. He say he will ask the manager! From that point on, it was hell. The sales man came back after 30 minutes with a document for me to sign， without tell me what that document is. Luckily I didn't sign and look up that document, it is the out of door price they want to sell me, with $5,0000 more then what it is offer! So I say that's not the price I expect. Then they start with another person , so call sales manger, can to our table and says, the car come with tracking system. That is why the charge is different. So I told them take the tracking system off . I don't need it and I don't want to be track by you, since I buy with cash, not finance. Then after that it starts with other sales associate , one after another and try to explain the same thing! I kept tell them no. I just want my price plus tax and registration fee to complete this sale. After 3,4th sales associate, or managers, they figure I was not going up with the price they ask for, then the last manager we talked to basically look at me and tell me I have anxiety issue that make me offer that crazy price. Treat me like I was from a mental institute patient! They keep saying they are the largest used car dealer! It is a joke! Used car dealer who cares about what your money worth it spend on, they will have better respect on their inventories, at least a clean car appearance. Better customer service who will try effort to listen to your needs. Not just what they are asking for! I finally find another truck and bought the truck at another used car dealership in La Habra. They have clean , repaired , newer, nicer used cars! I bought my truck nicer condition and $5,000.00 less then I this dealership is offering me! No BS, straight forward and honestly with good customer service! Watch what you are buying, and pricing! Do your home work before you decide to go this place. Customer service was good. Didn't have a lot of options for my price range. Ended up with a car I didn't really want but purchased because they worked with me considering I had a previous repo from 6yrs ago. Not more then 5min after driving the car off the lot, the tire light came on. I took it to the place where I work and has them check my tires out. Turns out all four tires had been over filled with about 10lbs more then the suggested amount. Also, tire light never came off. The techs where I work said it's probably a bad fuse. Also, the next morning after, I turned the car on and it made a loud screaming sound. Only does this when the vehicle is cold. Not good signs. I'm hoping I don't have to fix something major in the next few months. Good place if your looking for anything and you're desperate like I was. My wife and I went there and felt like we weren't treated with full respect. We went to buy a car that we saw on Car Guru. When we arrive we asked the car salesman for the car and he seemed like he wasn't interested in showing us the car. He told us that he hadn't seen that car so we looked for it ourselves. When we found it he went to get the keys and asked us if we were serious about buying the car. After he gave us the keys to test drive the car he told us to only drive one time around the block. While we were test driving the car he called us to see if we were OK. In the process of buying the car they added hidden fees and extra charges for an anti theft device and paint chip insurance which we didn't ask for. After we drove the car home we noticed it had a missing mat and when it rained we noticed the car had no windshield wiper blades. We drove from Santa Barbara to Karplus Warehouse to look at a Honda CR-V that they had advertised online. When we got there the salesman Eleazar, who we had spoken to on the phone prior to our visit, greeted us. He was nice. He showed us the vehicle and took us for a drive. Everything looked good and it drive nicely. We asked him if there was any room to negotiate in the price and he said that they were a 'no haggle dealership' (which translates into, the price is firm, altho they had lowered the price several times since they first advertised it over 5 months prior on Nov. 1st) We asked them to write up the sales contract so we could see what the 'out the door' price was going to be. We went into the office where there were several other salesmen along with the manager in the office area. He brought us the paper work and on it was a $3000 add-on for the GPS security system that was installed in the vehicle they said we had to pay extra for. They said if we we didn't want it, they would pay half of the $1600 to remove it. What a scam! I asked him why the cost was not reflected in the advertised price and he came up with some fine print on the advertisement that states extra for anti theft deterrent blah, blah. Adios Karplus Warehouse. Stay away from this place! P. S. I notice JR M. of Karplus Warehouse Business Customer Service is writing responses to a lot of these bad reviews. Don't bother JR M. There are too many bad reviews to make excuses for. You need to change your unethical business practices or your career in apologizing will continue. When you have as many 1 star reviews as you have for pretty much the same complaint (advertising a low price and then jacking it up with a BS GPS tracking device add-on) that should alert you that you are doing something wrong. Also, he keeps saying he's sorry and "We can't find you in our database" to many of the 1 star reviewers. Maybe that's because we didn't buy anything from your ripoff dealership. I purchased a car 2 weekends ago, and now it needs to be at the Honda dealership for repairs. I really doubt that the cars are fully inspected prior to having the cars for sale. They do disclose any damages until they run your credit. They also do not disclose any pre-installed options until the middle of the deal, once they have your downpayment on their hands. Also the carfax they offer is not the most current one, I bought the car with pre-existing damage that was repaired, but did not show up on the carfax. It is very sneaky to not disclose the damage and pre-installed options before giving a down payment and running your credit. I will be contacting the BBB and consumer affairs. Ohh and they ran my credit report 2 times, why, I dont know. That made a good ding on my credit and would have made it harder on me to go elsewhere. Thats how they get you. read more

I saw a vehicle online that I was interested in. Although I pre-qualified for a loan of a whopping $6700.00 which was the price of the car, they ran my credit not once, not twice, but 4 times with different banks to get approval to finance it. They did not call me back with the results, so I called them and all they could say is that their manager could not get approval and they were sorry about that. Okay, what I'm furious about is that every time an inquiry is submitted, it impacts the fico score by 5 points as a "hard inquiry" and it stays on for 2 years. I called today to speak with someone in charge to inquire as to why my credit was ran 4 times. The person I spoke with is Carlos and he said that someone would call me back immediately. No one called back and I don't expect them to either. This is not how to run a so-called reputable dealership. Unless you're paying cash for a car, I would highly not recommend Karplus in Pacoima, Ca. for any financing. Very disappointed and I will take this further. read more

THEY ARE A RIP-OFF! We bought a commercial van a couple of years ago. It was advertised for around $7900. It was late when we went to go look at it. Because they were getting ready to close for the day, they really pushed us into buying it right then and there. In the buying process, they gave us no time to read all the paperwork. I know, our fault. But they were really good at putting the pressure on. The person doing the paperwork, Robert, is an idiot and has no idea what he is doing. He doesn't have a clue on the details of the add-ons. One item was the etching. His words: "I'll tell you what I'm going to do for you." He then proceeded to explain the etching. Not once did he mention that it was optional and that we would have to pay for it. Days later when we finally got a chance to read the fine print, we found that it didn't cover commercial vehicles like the van we bought. After trying for days to reach Robert, we finally cleared it up and got that money back. Another item was the warranty. They added $ 2900 for that! And, again, later on, we found that commercial vehicles are not covered. You would think Robert would know little details like that. Idiot! I've got some research to do but I don't think that issue was ever settled. Well, last week someone stole the van right out of our driveway. They recovered it but the thief had set it on fire. Our insurance company called it a total loss. They've advised that they will be issueing a check. Unfortunately, some of that money has to go to the finance company for what we still owe. I'm trying to make sense out of the Retail Installment Sale Contract before any monies exchange hands. It almost looks to me like they added in my downpayment of $ 5500.00. It started out with us finding an ad for a van for $7900. We have been making payments of around $ 350.00/mo now since August 2010 and it looks like we may still owe then around $5000! I'm no Einstein, but something doesn't add up. On the contract, they show an amount of $18000. I don't know where that came from. Like I said, it almost looks like they added in our down payment rather than deduct it. I've got more research to do and I'll get to the bottom of it but please be warned, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM. I came to look at a vehicle listed for sale and I told them that I saw the vehicle on their website for a specific price. The salesman was condescending and rude, and we waited nearly an hour. Service was awful, we were sitting down and not being attended to, and they asked for a ridiculous down payment (about 33%) for a car that's under $15k (and that's if you qualify for their online price, the prices in person are a couple thousand higher). The two sales people that assisted me gave me two different responses: one was like "Yes, yes! We will do something!" and the other was like "Oh just settle for something else... Can't you co-sign with someone else?" It almost felt as if they weren't interested in doing business and they just tried to entertain me and not be serious. I also want to add that I made several attempts to ask about the vehicle and submitted an online credit application and never got a call back. I'm very disappointed in the service and attitude received and would not recommend to others. Some of the cars they have in the back also were dirty, had garbage inside, and some were even touching bumper to bumper as if someone parked them that way to make sure they all fit. You're better off looking at other used car dealerships with sales reps that will treat you with respect and try to work with you. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased a truck from them, because my story repeats the same complaints as in the comments. PLEASE don't buy anything without reading the reviews. 1. I made an appointment to see a truck, drove two hours, and the car was not available (sensor's problems). Disrespectful. 2. When I finally drove it, it felt very sluggish, so I picked another truck which seemed fine. 3. I explained the inexperienced Salesman that I was going to pay in whole with a bank check (I didn't need to take the truck with me, I could wait until the check clears). I have bought 3 cars this way without a problem before, he said it was fine. 4. I had to fight to receive the online price (which is only for cash purchases). The real 'out the door' price was +$1200 +10% tax/fees. The $1200 is for an anti-theft GPS program that retails for $550. 5. The manager rejected my check and demanded complete payment by cash or cashiers check within 48 hours. 6. The truck that they sold me CANNOT be insured on a personal insurance. Sales rep had asked me if I had a business and I said NO, I had no idea that this truck need a commercial insurance policy. 7. I took the truck to my local Ford dealership, and the oil had 5% life left on it!!! The dealer only cares about churning cars. A GOOD dealership doesn't need advertising it thrives on word of mouth. read more

After an hour and a half drive to the dealership we were to find out that the car wasnt even on the lot, which we called to make sure of the day previous, and were told that it was in their service garage that was closed until Monday(this was a Saturday morning mind you). Don't go here. They're crooked. We found a vehicle on autotrader for the price of $7984.00. We also checked the website which should the price around $8100.00 until you get a online quote. The online quote reflected the price we saw on autotrader. We went to look at the vehicle and found it had many deep scratches and dents. The rims were all damaged and one tire had side wall damage. The rear passenger side door panel was falling off and the driver side door was also falling apart. We test drove the car to see if it would be within our interest to buy it and pay out of our pocket to have the issues I listed fixed. We sat down with the salesperson and explained to them we are there to make a cash purchase. I explained to the salesperson all the issues I saw. He told me the vehicle sale price was around $11000.00. I explained to him that's not what their website or autotrader says. I told him that's a bait and switch as far as I'm concerned. He tried to explain to me the price we saw was for cash only deal. I explained to him their price was a bit high considering we would have to put a minimum of a least a thousand dollars into the car to get in excellent shape. I gave the salesperson my offer and said we were firm. He went to go "talk to his manager". I know in this business that's just a tactic to make it seem like they're trying to get you a good deal. It's not. It's just a rouse. He came back and explained to me again that the price is around $11000.00 and how the price they were advertising online was for a cash purchase. I told him nowhere on either website does it say that price is a for a cash deal. Bottom line they refused to come down in price on a car that needs a lot of work down to it. I was more than happy to take my cash to another dealership. No need to rely with your bogus copy and paste reply like you do every negative post. I was in the market for a used car and decided to give this place a try. They have a huge selection and the salesman was patient with as I drove a few different cars. In the end I ended up buying a 2010 Mazda 5. The whole process was fast easy and ended up getting a great car. Only thing they forgot was to fill up my car with gas when i bought it but thats a minor thing. I will definitely recommend this place again. read more
