The POS Ryan was forcefully trying to get me to buy a truck that wasn't running properly he took off with my license and tried photo copying it without us having a deal...on top of that when I did ask him for my license he threw it at me...and his boss came out and said he didn't mean to do it...how do you do something and not mean to do it. I bought a car here a week ago and I knew my credit was low so I came in with enough cash to pay off the car if needed. The first problem I had was the sticker price on the car was clear as day but the salesman told me they couldn't sell it to me for that price because it wasn't the real price and that the real price was 4500 dollars higher than advertised on their website and in the dealership.(which funny enough is how much they asked me for a down payment). I said ok whatever I knew my credit was bad so I agreed on the price with the down payment and payments I assumed because they were selling it to me for 4500 more than advertised I would be financing the price on the car and the salesman assured me I would be I asked him over 10 times what my final amount would be and what I would ultimately be paying for the car before financing because I was planning to pay off the loan in a few months after financing and he assured me that the price financed would be what we agreed and even showed it to me and pointed it to me on a contract. A few days ago I called the finance company and asked for the pay off amount because I was thinking of paying it off much sooner and they tell me I was actually charged double what the car was advertised at! My 4500 dollar down payment essentially was just gifted away to the dealership even though that was half of the price of the car that was advertised online and at the dealership. I called and asked for the salesman and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about then said he told me clearly and didn't lie when I asked him over 10 times and he either said a lower number or would change the subject he ended up yelling at me for 5 minutes then hung up then I was told he wasn't there when I called back . This whole thing was an awful horrible experience don't trust these guys they look for any angle to screw you over and I make plenty of money and I'm going to pay off the car but I'm going to make sure any family or people I know in my business will know not to go here and give them your money and you shouldn't either it's not very hard to be transparent and I would've bought the car anyways if he was honest and transparent about the price but he lied to my face then lied and denied it over the phone and called me a lier. read more

Staff was great, I found the car I was looking for quickly thanks to Mo-a very friendly guy who wasn't pushy or anything. Ok so this summer I bought a 2007 Saturn (with a warranty mind you that didn't apply to my problems) from Karplus. While searching for the car, the salesman is saying sexual comments to my sister (who is a model) but still! One salesman pulled out his list of cars that he sold and tried to get us to go on a date with him. He called himself a "high roller" and said that my sister should start acting in the movie industry, and yes, the bad movie industry is what I'm talking about. Ok, enough said on the idiots, but here is the strange part, like the reviews from the other customers below me, I also bought a lemon. It was a stick and my sister goes to teach me how to drive it right after the papers were signed. We're sitting in a parking lot and she shows me what stalling a car is. She goes to turn the car back on and it WILL NOT START! The starter had blown and eventually, I got stranded by myself at a gas station. I called the manager and he offered to pay for it, which was nice. Then after some heated words, he threatens to revoke his offer. I just kissed ass at that point because I couldn't afford the fix. So, I take the car to GM and they literally had to replace the whole part! Remove the steering column (now my steering wheel shakes terribly) and fix it. It cost over $400. Ok, so I drive 5 hours north to my house. The next DAY I am getting in it to go to work, and the damn check engine light turns on! Since then, the sealant for the windows has warped from the heat and the stick has troubles going into first. So yesterday my tire blows out and when I take it into Big O's, they say that the lock on the rim is nothing they have ever seen before and there is no key in the car. Both I, and the mechanic looked everywhere. So I call Karplus today to see if they have it. The salesman says, "Robert should have had the key or some way to get it off or else he couldn't have done the inspection on the car thoroughly." Wow, so what does that make me think? Maybe that they didn't do an inspection at all. When they put me on the phone with Robert, he is very rude with me and is acting like I'm an idiot. He questions my searching skills saying, "Well, it just has to be in there somewhere." Ok guess what buddy? It wasn't. This reafirms what serious sleeze balls these guys are. He tells me there is nothing he can do, and hangs up. They literally will make the car run as smooth as possible to hold up until it's bought and then it falls apart. Please understand that I am not a pissed off person that gets my feelings hurt and yada yada. I am actually a very nice and passive person. But please, I beg you, do NOT buy from this car lot. Take the warnings and ignore the cheap prices, beat up cars, and loud hip hop that blares from the speakers while you shop (that's no joke). It's a facad that will cost you more than if you bought something from a car dealership!!! read more

It's been almost a year since I bought my car and I think it's time for their review. While I still love my car there is something that really grinds my gears (pun intended). When I went out to test drive/ look at the car, they told me that it hadn't been in an accident even though there were visible dents in the passenger door on the right side. Anyway, I fell in love w my car and bought it anyway. A few weeks ago, I took my car to go get looked at by my trusted mechanic and they found that my radiator and condenser had been bent. This is the WORST place to buy a car ever! I'm surprised that this place hasn't been closed down for shady business operations. The entire nightmare of purchasing a car was fueled from start to finish by Karplus Warehouse and the incompetent staff they have on-site. Firstly, when you walk into the dealership, there are about 15 salesmen all huddled together under a shade waiting for their next victim; the second a person walks through the gate, it's a race to see who can rob you blind first - not the way to get off on the right foot, and only adding to the 'used car dealer' stereotype. After walking around the lot for about 4 hours, and being told time and time again that financing with no credit wouldn't be a problem (I am new to LA from Australia), I encounter my first dilemma. This is true of most dealerships, they'll say anything to get you in the door, but this place took the problem to a whole new level. I finally settle on a car that is within my first-time buyer financing limit, and they assure me that whilst I can be financed alone, they just need my friend's details for the sole purpose of having an American citizen 'vouch for me', and this was not a 'co-sign agreement'. OF COURSE it was a co-sign agreement! After sitting down to sign the paperwork (for a car that was 4K over KBB, with a 24% interest rate) it was suggested that we purchase the extended warranty at an additional $9 per month no strings attached. WRONG. What was told to me in fact differed entirely from reality - the warranty extended my loan an additional 18 months and added another 7K to the loan! Almost as much as the car! To top it off, the account man, Max, spoke to us like we were idiots. Even though my co-signer was a mechanic and able to call them out on just about every lie, they still acted as if we had never even seen a car before. Mike, another lovely addition to the team, is apparently hired to distract people while they are signing their lives away. Not 5 minutes passed where he wasn't telling me a bad joke, or shoving his phone in my face to show me pictures of Australia he found somewhere online. Ridiculous. One salesman, Sam, was perhaps the only decent human being in the place, he was not pushy and relatively subdued - of course, the others were quick to take his sale. Well - I've had the car for a month now. I had to replace the radiator yesterday, replace 4 bulbs, have the A/C fixed, both door seals fixed, the speedometer is 15 mph off, and I have no working stereo - the 3 CD's I found jammed in the single disc CD player was a nice feature. I haven't even made my first car payment! To sum up: NEVER BUY A CAR HERE, In fact, don't even drive past the dealership, or look online, or even go to Pacoima at all - AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS! read more

Worst place ever to buy a car!! Yes they are nice up until you need repairs.. They will send you to their mechanics over at Sheldon which will break more things than fix em.. They broke the motor cover and said t was hard to prove that they broke it.. We took our car to the VW dealership and did a diagnostic.. So many things were missing and we told Sheldon and they said they would look into it.. IT TOOK THREE MONTHS TO GET IT BACK!! And when we did get it back they had put 500 miles on it!! They said it was because they had to test drive it.. We tried to get them to sign over the rights to VW, they refused.. Even though we had already paid the car in full in less than a year.. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM! You will regret it!! Go to an actual dealership that will help instead of telling you they have nothing to do with the repairs anymore.. Very genuine sales guy! One of the other salespersons came up to my brother and I questioning our visit. Because we were asking to take out too many cars out for a test drive. I just couldn't make up my mind between a few cars. It was my first big purchase so i wanted to make sure i was satisfied with my decision... After trying out a few cars from their huge inventory. I knew the ford cmax energi was the one. The paperwork took almost 6 hours. Complications from my end. Jose offered us some hot dogs. This is the worst dealership I have ever been to. DO NOT GO HERE! They added on a bogus OPTIONAL Anti theft charge of close to $1500. Yes we got the car for a good price but when fees are added in that are optional is wrong. The salesman, as a part of their negotiating, told us they would fill the tank and 'detail' car. After being at their lot for the better half of a day, we got into the car which was filthy, was not cleaned, and it had an empty gas tank. They also said they would fill the tires up because the pressure gauge was on, so they obviously didn't. We drove 3 hours home with the light on after they said 'oh it's fine it will turn off after you drive it and the tires balance', lies, the tires were low. We dealt with a guy named Puya who was very misleading and took advantage of not only a VETERAN, but a Firefighter. I also spoke with Armen who was less than helpful, and pawned us off onto his sleazy salesman who took advance of us. I will never come back here and ADVISE NO ONE TO EVER SHOP HERE! I purchased a vehicle from here about a month ago and I had forgot to leave my review. I came to this place because they seemed to have a large selection and work with people that have um, challenging credit. I found a vehicle online and made my initial inquiry over the phone. I was put in touch with a sales man Elizar Chavez. He was was very nice and helpful. I asked a few questions and he was able to answer them for me. I came in the following day as discussed and texted Mr. Chavez when I arrived. Mr. Chavez showed me a couple of the vehicles that I had asked about. Mr. Chavez was very friendly, if I have any negative it would be that he didn't seem to know many specifics on the vehicle that I had chosen to test drive. To his defense there are a lot of different males and models on their lot. After agreeing to a price I was introduced to the finance manager Allen K. (Forgive me for not remembering his full last name) Allen really was great and is the reason I am giving 5 stars. He walked me through everything and was even able to find a bank that would be able to give me a lower APR than originally expected. It did take a bit of time to complete the transaction but that is to be expected. All in all, I love my car and I really appreciate all the work that Allen K. put in. read more

Buying a car, especially a used one, is always an over whelming experience considering all the factors that play into your decision; the price, the mileage, the condition of the car, etc. but I would say the most overwhelming experience would be figuring out whether or not the dealership is reliable and honest (as so many of them are not). However, My bf and I are beyond grateful for the service we were given at Karplus, especially from Arman and Javier. They played an integral role in our decision to purchase the car we did and they were able to confidently answer each question we asked them about the cars on their lot. Arman May come across as your typical car salesman's at first, but he is a very personable and admirable and truly helped us out with our first car purchase.
