I came because the Internet manager Ray was prompt with his return call and very honest over the phone about a car I wanted so I drove an hour to give Karplus a try and from start to finish I must say I had such a great buying experience! Salesman Mark gave us wrong information. Ended up having an extra 795 in fees and a mixup on the financing end because of him. The dealer was nice enough. Knocked off 200 from fees because of the mixup. The car has been nice so far. Frustrating to drive the family 5 hours with a baby based on bad info. This dealer makes money off of anti theft devices which locates the car (1495) and identifies the car from etched glass (695). Mark told us only 1395 for the locator and we could pay it all on our credit card (not the case either). No mention of etched glass. Most cars are "bank owned" and this makes their prices difficult to negotiate. Even if bad info was provided. Blaming a sales rep for bad info just feels like passing the buck. Not good business. The manager is responsible for those under him. Tough situation for both of us. read more

He spoke to us and helped us get our information in order to make our purchase on our very first car then helped us get it cleaned up while we got the paperwork set up with another man named pooya who not only was very helpful on how to fill out and sign our paperwork but he helped us do it fast and within the time limit we had. Scammers! I called ahead to purchase a 2015 suv for 48k which they said was a firm price bc they were taking a loss on it and we went over everything on the phone and said we'd be there in 45 to purchase, to please clean vehicle so we can come, sign and go. Got there and suv was NOT clean, they asked me for the price of the vehicle bc "they have it listed for different prices on different sites" ... ok... brought it my 2016 limited highlander fully loaded, perfect condition, doesn't even have plates on it yet, as the trade (love the car, just realized we needed something bigger) They quoted us 34k for my car after looking at it, checking condition, verifying the 10k miles and checking the VIN. we did up the paperwork and we were ready to go THEN they said they were waiting on the bank... that the "bank" needed to accept the offer for my trade in and the "bank" would be back soon to check out the car again... the "bank" was a guy who worked there, maybe the owner, the "bank" was wearing a baseball cap and shorts and he went out to check out my car for the second time and came back with 25k.... wtf? Blue book on my car is 38k so 34k for wholesale was fine with us but 25k was a joke. Simi valley chevy quoted us, same day $33500 for it, so coming down 1k is understandable but 9k? Lol yeah, no. They totally wasted our time with BS and we're obviously trying to make up for the low price on the suv they were selling us. So crooked! I drove 45 minutes with a screaming 8 month old and dropped off my 3 yr old with my sister so we could do this deal and kast minute they tried to strong arm us. #bitter Also there was a lady next to us was trying to buy a Mercedes and was telling my husband they looked up the Carfax and saw that it had been labeled a "lemon car" and I read some other reviews talking about lemons and I notice a trend... definitely chk the Carfax b4 u purchase and have it inspected by your mechanic. I had an great experience at Karplus Warehouse. I went there just looking for cars and even left my cash down payment at home because I was certain I wouldn't find a car that day and I didn't want to I wanted to keep my options open, however I also had been needing a car for so, so, long and was so tired browsing all online and now I had to go to multiple places, I just was getting overwhelmed. Upon arriving I had made an appointment with John who assisted my for a while before Keanu took over and really helped me find a good car. I ended up test driving a Nissan and a Chrysler. I had wanted to make a good decision and wasn't sure I should buy today but after test driving the Chrysler and loving it I asked about the financing. Keanu and the team worked together to get me a reasonable down payment and a acceptable monthly that made me comfortable and got me a car that day. As I mentioned before I left my money at home because I wasn't expecting to purchase a car. Keanu offered to drive the vehicle back to my home for me while I drive home and exchange the keys for the down payment. All of this happened of course after working with Stephanie who went through my paperwork and helped me through the signing process making sure to be quick and efficient. I am so grateful to the team for helping me finally get a car that I truly love. My only piece of constructive criticism is that although the car was cleaned on the outside it didn't seemed to be cleaned on the inside at all or very well if it was. I also received the car with hardly any gas which I guess is to be expected haha. This dealership is not upfront with you in terms of purchasing a vehicle. I had completed an online application and was informed by the Sales Manager that we could go forward with the sale. I had wanted to get pre-approved as I informed him that I would be coming from Long Beach he also informed that he would work with me on the down payment. When I arrived the Sales Manager was not working and was assisted by a sales rep. He told me the exact opposite and that my credit was bad and a 20 % down payment was required. I asked why wasn't I told about this before driving to to Pacoima from Long Beach and sitting two hours in traffic ?. He didn't answer and walked away. Since visiting this dealership I received financing on a 2014 Prius and was informed by score was in the 600's. Just what I would expect from a used car dealer. Purchased a vehicle and it was supposed to be ready the next day. When I came-back to pick it up nothing was ready. Finance guy wasn't in, Truck wasn't cleaned, paper work hadn't been completed. As soon as they got their $ I became a nobody. Waited over an hour and a half for them to take care of the issues and to top it off, the promised to be full gas tank had 40 miles worth of gas. read more

You will see really low prices for cars listed online, and that will get you in the door, but they are going to upcharge you, so that isn't the price you will pay. They require that you purchase a stupid GPS system that costs $1500, so you can just add that right on top of any car you're looking at. In the end, I still purchased from them, because even with that fee, they were still a good 20% less than the going rate, and other dealerships I visited charged a "dealer fee" of about the same amount, so I figured it was a toss up. They do feel sort of shady, but in the end, they seem to do what they say they will do. One thing - I wouldn't bother with the warranty (sold by Portfolio Protection), unless you live in close proximity to the dealership. You have to take your car to their local repair shop, or you'll get a major run around trying to get anything done to fix your car. The process for getting them to pay is so convoluted, you'll just end up paying for repairs yourself, on top of that pricey warranty. Bottom line - buy a car here if you see one you think is a great deal, but be ready to pay more than advertised, and just say NO to the warranty. read more

So I thought I'd give this place a shot - only because they had a vehicle that I wanted for what seemed like a fair price. So my friend and I went over to look at a couple of vehicles. We took them for a test drive and liked one over the other. He was really very helpful, desperate to sell, but helpful enough. He didn't seem to know much about the cars he was selling. So we applied for credit. They wanted $2,000 DP. As soon as I said we could only put down $500, his tone changed right away sounding very irritated. At the end, he blurted something like, "You're wasting my time." So we walked. LOL. I ended up going to a Toyota dealer to get a newer truck for a difference of about $75 in monthly payment. I feel very comfortable for not buying the truck at Karplus. I may never go back there again. read more
