Always pick up from Katsu burger when we are in dire need of a burger fix! We always make the mistake of ordering two when we could share and be perfectly content - but two in the moment always feels right. The burgers are massive, patties are juicy on the inside and perfectly coated with a crunchy katsu layer on the outside, and surrounding veggies/fruit are crisp and fresh. While we typically like the nori and spice fries, we opted to cook our own at home this time. To save some $$$. It's basic and there are many other choices but we like the spicy mayo. The only thing I am a tad annoyed by is the fact that they brought us 1 fry instead of 2. But the food was so good that it barely made a dent in the experience, hence the good review. Nori Fries - i literally ate all of the fries before even starting the burger due to the rapid depreciation of taste with temperature. I couldnt stop. They are so worth. I've been a loyal Katsu Burger fan for years & have been to most of their locations, but the service I received here was terrible. When I got my order the fries were cold and soggy, so I asked the cashier if I could have new ones. She took my fries and went to check with the cook on what to do. I overheard the cook tell her that he'd re-fry them, but not give me a new order. I was shocked to hear that they re-fry people's fries...I thought it'd be better than what I had so I opted for it. An order had come out and I grabbed it thinking it was mine. The cashier gave me a "look" and said "Uh, That's not yours" . I apologized and continued to wait. I've been waiting now for about 10 minutes. When I got it, I hopped into my car and tried it. The fries were even more gross- a lot of them became really hard & crunchy, they were extra greasy, and some were still soft and limp. I usually love their fries but this was just gross. The chicken katsu was great, as were the curry fries, my two favorite items here. Not a huge fan of the pork or beef, I would not bother to order both of those again, the quality of the meat was not very good. Service is great and food made to order quickly, fries are on the soggy side, I would order them well done next time. Prices are affordable, portions fair and the place is clean and well maintained. Shame that most of their sauces are mayo based, I did not really care for any of them. Still the curry chicken katsu and fries was delicious and worth trying. We actually came across this new Katsu Burger location in Federal Way during it's soft opening period. We ordered the Tokyo classic and the Katsu Curry burgers. The deep fried beef patty on my Tokyo classic was cooked perfect, not dry but very moist, and it tasted good with the katsu sauce and Japanese mayo. In fact, I preferred the Katsu curry burger better with the curry sauce. Its aroma makes the taste more appetizing and inviting, all sandwiches come with pickles, tomato slice, red onion and slaw in Japanese mayo. All ingredients sustained well in a bun and it did not fall apart. Customer service was very good too and talking with the manager-owner, we found out Katsu Burger started all in Washington state, a fusion concept which brings Asian and the west food culture together. And in a matter of few years. They started from Georgetown in Seattle, Katsu Burger has grown into Belleuve, Lynnwood etc. and now in Federal Way. A nice experience switching from the traditional hamburger we are familiar with, and Katsu Burger would definitely offer another new option and worth a try. read more

Wow!!! Amazing!!! I had a Godzilla burger. Comes with slaw, tomato, onion, pickle, jalapeños, spicy mayo. I got the tofu and it was amazing! I can't wait to come back and try the meats! They make fresh buns everyday and the patties are dipped in Panko and they are crispy deliciousness. I just ate the curry burger with pork and it was good. A definite favorite and go-to for us. It's not the most fancy meal, but it's executed well, ingredients are fresh, and most importantly, it's affordable! It's not very often where you can get a meal for 2 consisting of burgers and fries that costs you less than 30 dollars including tax and tip! Our go-to is the Tokyo Classic, sans pickles and tomatoes. Subbing the mayo with miso honey mustard gives the burgers a nice buttery sweet note without the overpowering punch. We like the beef patties, but imagine the others are good as well. I love the shredded cabbage, and the crew here assembles it so nicely and proportionate. There have only been a few times where the amount was less than desirable. Still, we love coming back here because the food is fresh and the buns are always nice and fluffy. The 12-spice fries are good, though a tad salty, so the nori ones are a good balance. Try their sauces! They have a wide range of flavor profiles, and you'll sure to find one or two that you'll like. :) We've been to this location, Capitol Hill, and Ballard. All are good, though our favorites are this and Capitol Hill. Either way, we'll keep coming back! read more

The only reason I took a star off was because they didn't call out my name when my food was ready. They put it in a bag (for take out) on the metal rack but didn't say it was ready. Lots of good things to say about this burger. The pork Katsu we had was absolutely delicious on both burgers we tried out. They were very generous with their toppings of onions and sauces in the burgers as well and the sandwiches were full of flavor. The coleslaw was just fine, nothing special to say, but the bonzai bites were awesome. We added in a curry mayonnaise and the combination was delicious. Any day with Katsu Burger automatically becomes a good food day. The burgers are bomb. Between the bf and I, we've probably gone through the entire burger menu and I love them all! It's fusion done well because the Japanese flavors really come out despite being served in a burger form. The nori fries are so good with their unique dipping sauces! Thin and crispy and the seaweed flavor really comes out in the most complementary way. The black sesame and green tea shakes are the best I've ever had. Both are very authentic tasting and soo creamy and delicious. I also really enjoyed the gingerbread flavor that they had over the holidays. The korroke are like CRACK!!! They're like panko coated mashed potato bites and are so freaking good. Overall, this place is in a class of its own. It's extremely well rounded because each type of menu item is equally strong, you don't have a solid burger but mediocre shake or subpar sides. Everything is solid, making for an extremely satisfying and food coma inducing meal. Other thoughts: the parking here is really limited and cramped, and the seating area is equally limited and cramped! For this reason, I prefer the Georgetown location. With the amount of people in line or waiting at a table for an ordered, i thought we'd be there for awhile without food. Kudos to how efficient food is prepped in the kitchen! The food Tokyo Tower was a colossal tower of deep fried Katsu burgers, onion, cabbage, sauce, and cheese. I've never had to plan how i was going to eat a burger before. Standing at half the size of my head, posed a problem of how it was going to end up in my mouth.
