Yes, the place is small. Yes, sometimes you won't get a table to sit on. But also, yes you should NOT miss out on this place. The burgers SEEM expensive, but given what you get for it; the size, the flavor and unique flavor, it's well worth it--especially given that a small cheeseburger at any other restaurant is similarly priced for something less flavorful and lower quality. If you get a chance, make sure to try the Godzilla attack with a side of nori fries and wasabi mayo; it's a can't miss! I had been to the location in Capitol Hill and I finally went to the Factoria location which is a lot closer to me. It is located in a small-ish plaza but there's a decent amount of parking. For some of the burger options you can choose the meat (beef, pork, chicken, tofu) whereas for others it's specified. I ordered the Godzilla Attack ($10) with chicken katsu which came with a lot of jalapenos. I was starving and the burger just hit the spot. The bun was soft and the katsu was nice and crispy. I also ordered the fries ($3.25) with the 12 spice blend. The fries were thin and crispy which I loved. There's also a lot of fries given the price so that's always a welcome sight for me. The 12 spice blend has a lot of flavor and I got the tonkatsu sauce which was sweet and balanced out the saltiness. I also heard the nori seasoning on the fries are popular and delicious too so I will have to come back to try those. read more

For years, I have drove by and wanted to try it and I finally did. The beef burger was not what I was hoping for. The beef is a Japanese style meat patty, meaning it is unlike Red Robin's American type. I was surprised but it's me not them. The burger was made to order and was very fulfilling. This place is a hidden gem! Do not expect much of an ambiance or seating space, they exactly have 4 tables with 16 seats among them. A take out is ideal if you don't want to sit in the cramped dining space. Coming to the food, I would give them 10 stars if I could! We got the chicken banzai bites, Godzilla attack burger with chicken, Katsu curry burger with tofu, a plain chicken burger for the kids, curry fries, and a vanilla milkshake. Loved loved each and everything. Special mention to their curry fries, the curry powder they add on top was so delicious. The chicken and tofu inside the burger were so crispy, fried perfectly with minimal grease. The vanilla milkshake was one of the best we've ever tasted. I had Katsu Burger a few years ago and wasn't blown away but on my recent delivery order it was pretty good. Certainly a tasty and fun alternative to other regular fast food options. The light katsu coating + tonkatsu sauce combo on the Ninja burger was better than I was expecting, and the pork katsu burger had a really nice contrast of flavors. I also had some of the bonzai bites and these were more delicious and fresh than any nugget option at the bigger chains. Compared to another local option like Lunchbox, this is WAY WAY better than that and I would definitely recommend trying out anything on the menu. read more

We've been to Katsu Burger several times, and their food is always so reliably good. Most burgers are about $10 each, then add a side of fries for $3+. The burger itself is big and tall. It's really plenty of food for a meal. Of course, most folks end up getting fries. Being "katsu", the original pork, i.e. Ninja Deluxe, is the most Japanese style of classic. That's what we ordered. The burger is super well dressed in a 'deluxe' fashion with all the fixings. Besides the crispy natural pork loin katsu, it also comes with cheddar cheese, bacon, tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayo, slaw, tomatoes, and pickles. It's HUGE! For those that want one closer to the typical American burger, the Tokyo Classic is an excellent choice. They also offer unique options with Japanese curry flavor or ones with fun names like Godzilla Attack. We also ordered a nori fries; for the free dip, we chose nori ranch. Super messy to eat in the car (drips sauce everywhere) but the flavors are good, it was not overly salty and offered a subtle crunchy texture. I ordered the teriyaki chicken which came with pineapple and loved it! The pineapple adds a bit of sweetness and juice to the whole burger (although definitely not fresh pineapple). 3.5 star rating. We ordered take out from Katsu Burger on a Friday evening and it was ready really fast. We had the Ninja Deluxe with Pork (very good) and Teriyaki Chicken burgers (also very good). I'm a fan of chicken sandwiches and the crust on the chicken and pork were great, and along with the standard toppings everything comes together nicely. The teriyaki chicken burger/sandwich had a very mild teriyaki flavor--not overpowering. Sides are where things weren't so good and are what kept this from being a 4-star rating: we had their normal fries with a couple of their sauces, and the fries weren't particularly crisp, the pieces were rather short (like we got the end of a bag of fries) and the sauces were just ok (nice variety to choose from, though). We also had the coleslaw that was REALLY wet (like a soup almost--desperately needs to be strained) though the flavor was great. We'll come back here to try a few more varieties of their burgers and see if we just got unlucky with the fries. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy with dine-in customers but they did have a lot of to-go orders while I ate there. I ordered the Wabi Wasabi with chicken katsu and a black sesame kinako milk shake. Everything was quite affordable as well. The burger was pretty good with a nice pillowy bun and crispy katsu. The first few bites I didn't really taste the wasabi. It wasn't until I got towards the middle and was greeted with the familiar sinus clearing spice. Overall,it was a pretty good burger but nothing too outstanding. The black sesame kinako milk shake was better than I expected. It was very thick especially for the size of the straw I was given. There was a nice black sesame taste with a hint of the kinako in there. Very refreshing and helped tone down the wasabi kick. I have been to the original location before so I knew what to expect. We order the ohayou gozaimasu, and literally all the sides :D (nori fries, wasabi coleslaw, seaweed salad, takoyaki, and croquette). Unfortunately they were out of the banzai bites which I was hoping. The burger was ok, I feel like all the food melded together so I couldn't differentiate all the components. The nori fries was good in flavor but the fries itself was kinda soggy/soft. The coleslaw and seaweed salad was just standard. I like the croquette as it has both good flavor and texture. This place is smaller and less tidy (garbage from a sandwich and some food on the floor in the seating area) than the one in Ballard BUT staff are friendly and the food quality is still really good. I am all aboard the Katsu Burger train! I had been wanting to try it for years and I finally got to within the past few weeks and I've already been back multiple times. Their burgers are very filling, affordable yet they dont feel too heavy because they have lots of produce on them. I like how their burgers are more unique than your typical burger joint because of both the breading and the sauce profiles. Their Tonkatsu sauce and wasabi mayo are my two favorites as they compliment each other very nicely so naturally my favorite burger I've had so far is the Wabi Wasabi as it has both sauces. Very small restaurant with 4 tables that sit 4 people each. Thankfully they had a high chair for my little one. The space is definitely crowded. I ordered a chicken Godzilla burger. Overall the burger was dry. The too was very dry while the bottom was very soggy! I enjoy spicy food a lot. There was a generous amount of jalapeños on the burger. But also too much onion & tomatoes. The Classic consists of katsu patty, tonkatsu sauce and Japanese mayo. The Katsu Curry consists of katsu patty, tonkatsu sauce, curry mayo, curry powder without the America cheese. Katsu Burger is a great place for a quick and unique burger. I first found out about Katsu Burger at the original Georgetown location. When they switched owners a couple years ago and opened a Factoria location, I was so happy I didn't have to drive all the way out to Georgetown to get my Katsu Burger fix. There's a couple burgers I like getting here. Most of the time, I usually get the Ohayou Gozaimasu Burger since it has pretty much everything you want for a high cholesterol burger: grass-fed Beef Katsu patty, fried egg, cheddar cheese and bacon. I also like the popular Ninja Deluxe, which has a Pork Katsu patty with bacon, Japanese Mayo, and Tonkatsu sauce. Recently, I've been getting their daily special, the Umami Wagyu with you guessed it, a Wagyu Beef Patty. And did I mention the crazy giant burgers like the Mt. Fuji with all the patties or the Tokyo Tower with 2 Beef Katsu patties? Yeah, they have those too. I've tried both of these burgers once and I suggest you come with a hearty appetite. It's not too hard to finish, but it's a lot of burger and I did it as a challenge. In addition to the massive burgers, I also enjoy the fries. You can choose between the traditional Seasalt, curry, nori or their 12 spice blend, but I always go with the Nori Fries. Those are the best and get it with either the Wasabi Mayo or Curry Mayo dipping sauces. If you're looking for a shake, I suggest the Black Sesame. It's different, but it goes well with the burger. I love the atmosphere at Katsu Burger. The walls are colorful and it's filled with Anime art and illustrations. The only drawback is the price. the regular burgers are about $8-$10.50 alone and when you add fries and a shake, it's close to $15+ for a meal. The prices are a little more than the Georgetown location probably to curtail the overhead costs of being on the Eastside. Nonetheless, I'd still recommend eating here and grabbing one of their unique burgers and shakes. read more

They take 100% local pork loin, bread and season it with curry powder, and fry it to crispy perfection. Then they topped mine with tonkatsu sauce, curry mayo, pickles, tomatoes, and a pile of shredded cabbage (no red onions for me, thank you). It is an explosion of flavors and textures. Yum! My husband got the Samurai Select with bacon and pineapple and it was oh so good too. And of course you have to get it with the honey miso slaw, 12 spice fries with wasabi mayo, and wash it down with a matcha shake. That's the winning combo!
