I was pleased with my service advisor but NOT with the "SERVICE" received. After being told of the EXORBITANT price of fixing my sunroof, I was told that the mechanic wouldn't be able to close my broken sunroof without paying for 5 hours of labor, even though the job would only reportedly take 2 hours. After paying for the diagnosis, I returned home. I am a not a mechanic. I am a Wife, Mother and Registered Nurse. I was able to go on YouTube and watch a video and close the sunroof that I was told couldn't be closed without paying $1000. I disconnected the motor and am disgusted with the attempt to be robbed by the dealership I purchased my vehicle from in 2011. I arrived to the Express Service at Honda of Katy. Their normal service hours are 7-7. This is a first come, first serve center only. Due to COVID, they have shut down their Service Center. As a result of this, Honda of Katy has moved all oil changes from the Express Center back to their Main Service Center. I arrived at 6 am and waited for an hour for them to open their doors. I was greeted by a Service Employee and told to move to the Main Service Center. Upon the doors opening and me being greeted by a service representative. I was informed that they recommend and will be taking all appointments first. I receive corespondents from their marketing department all the time. Yet they failed to send their loyal customers a electronic corespondent indicating that they are changing the way they operate in the service department. This would've been nice to know prior to me waking up much earlier than I would have had I made an appointment. I am on a wait list, first probable slot is 3 hours from the time the doors opened. DECEPTIVE FINANCE MANAGER! This review is specifically about Travis Parsons, the finance Manager. I had a similar negative experience to the other 1 star reviews. Sales lady was really nice. Told her what I wanted, what I did not want. Once I got to the finance guy.. everything got shady. Travis Parsons is an expert in finance deceptions. BEWARE of his tactics! He increased the price of the car by $500. Added some Kahu thing for $500, and a paint/chip warranty for $700. None of which I wanted or asked for. All totaling an additional $2,000. After he got approval and finalized the transaction he printed my papers and I left. I later called him and confronted him about the charges and requested an itemized list of charges. He said they were mandatory and that he upgraded my Kahu to 5 years for $999.. and the paint/chip warranty was standard addition for anyone who bought a normal warranty. I told him I didn't want it and that he was wrong for doing this to people. I contacted Kahu and the first line of their agreement says IT IS NOT MANDATORY to buying a car.. Honda Cars of Katy is selling it as a mandatory add-on to their cars.. I cancelled it and requested a refund.. of course they said it was Honda Cars of Katy responsibility to refund me. I cancelled the Kahu service and took the 1K hit. I'm also paying monthly for the additional 2K that Mr. Parsons fraudulently charged me. I wanted to take the time to write a review to warn others about the deceptive financing practices of Mr. Travis Parsons at Honda Cars of Katy. Great experience soup to nuts! From an internet search beginning and phone calls to/from Destiny to a visit the next day & meeting salesman CJ who's wild shorts and great attitude set a fun tone for the whole experience. After lining up the two cars we were interested in next to each other so we could do a literal "side by side comparison", a quick test drive and discussion made the choice easy. We moved on to Lisa in finance who was a hoot! It was hard to sign all the paperwork because of all of the laughing. Done with the business, Mike Rowe (to quote him "The Clean Jobs Mike Rowe") expertly went through the massive amount of features, complete with specific insights since he owns the same car, lucky us. I had taken my 2019 Odyssey to get appraised. The online estimate gave a figure that matched what I got from.KBB. I made an appointment and went to the dealership. I had purchased the vehicle from this dealership in 2018 and all services including oil changes was done at the dealership. The manager looked came back with an estimate that was 5K less than KBB main reason mentioned was my sunroof was damaged and need to be replaced. We walked towards the counter to pay one girl there told my girlfriend that your car will be done in 15 minutes other girl working there asked her no her car is still parked here how it can be done in 15 mins. They said ok sorry let us check called the guy who my girlfriends handed over her car he came and said well the waiting time is 3 hours. I went in a couple weeks ago to do a used car test drive and our sales guy, Tony was super accommodating and helpful. If you're going to go in, definitely ask to see him. Avoid this dealership for any purchases or services. I have been going here for years for my oil change but today was my last visit and I will never do business with them as I was over charged for an oil change that usually runs for $49 at the express lane but due to it being busy I was sent to the main service area. The service advisor's name is Freddie Boatright he seemed professional but that was all perfunctory courtesy. I check prices assuming oil changes are $49.99 and the state inspection was $25.50 "fixed fee" then I had some battery issues and asked for a quote. Freddie said he'd come find me once the battery is checked. Usually someone comes back to me and let's me know the cost of services or any required repairs. Freddie never showed up so I went back to the front counter to check and he abruptly said it will take 2 hours and I was confused as to what will take 2 hours since I was waiting on a pricing for the battery. A service technician at that moment showed up with the battery receipt and it showed that it was required to be replaced and I asked how much? Freddie says it will be $210 and I said that is too high and the battery is under warranty when I purchased it from Honda of spring Branch. I call spring Branch Honda and they tell me that the warranty would pro rate my cost and it will be $66 out of pocket. I go back to Freddie and he informs me he just got off the phone with spring Branch Honda and he would charge me $134 for the battery so I said "NO"he seemed uncomfortable that i rejected replacing the battery with them. After spending 2 hours there Freddie says your car is ready and presents the invoice where it had so many itemized charges and I did provide them with a $10 coupon yet I was charged $76.32 for the regular oil change and state inspection the chargethat I was gouged with was a $14 misc environmental fee where I went back to my old invoices and found I usually get charged$2. I asked how much is the oil change Freddie says it's $60.64 and I was like I changed my oil this year it was $49 he answers prices inflate and I was like 20% in less than a year? Anyways I address the environmental fees he answers me that those are required by the state and he says I don't see where your problem is at as i revised every charge, and i told him I don't let to be ripped off. I proceed to pay then leave. I go back home check my other invoices and find out I have never had such a charge and it would have been $10 more if I haven't provided that coupon. I call them to get a hold of a manager. Find out that the service department's manger is named Richard Hudson and it is very hard to get a hold of him I called him 5 times and couldn't get a hold of him. I decided to drive back there. I went in and I asked for the manager and it seems like the staff is trained for such situations. I ask for Richard Hudson but he isn't in his office I wait and then Freddie shows up. I explain to that he over charged me and him or his manager need to solve this issue. He explains that those are not the outright prices and continuez lying then he says Richard Hudson left for the day, as we're talking Richard comes back in. I proceed to talk to the Service manager very politely explaining my issue is sly and deceitful and says I wonder why they haven't charged it before so he offers a credit and I knew I wasn't getting any money back but apparently they think. As stupid as they are so I played along because I would not come back there also my father, sister and mother in law deal with these liars so they lost a whole family and our business due to their insincerity l, lies and gouging methods. Avoid these low life scammers and I shall continue to spread my bad experience everywhere and I will make sure every single small detail will be on the survey that I yet to receive and I'm going to put and effort to address this to the BBB because it maybe an insignificant amount but it's still a form of deception as I was taken advantage of and this Stealership overcharged me for a service they had the same charge for me for years. We have a dealership here called Honda Cars of Katy, where all cars are marked up 5k, and they were bought out by a bigger dealership. The new ownership invalidated all free lifetime maintenance deals (which was just oil changes) that were part of sales for a few years. That pissed off a number of people. They also stopped doing car rentals for people who had cars in for warranty work. I don't know if that part has been changed back, but I know that the lifetime warranty stuff is still off the table. read more

However they got the VIN number so we could proceed to negotiate. Upon negotiating i stumble on what they call it "Honda upgrades" Includes Tint, trunk tray, mud flaps, Kayu (car monitoring 1 year) and wheel locks. Which they marked up 2k in value. I got an internet deal from them of 22.5k without TTL. MSRP is 25.9k. I came in slam me with the "upgrades" and the price came out to be more then MSRP!!!! 27.9k would be the drive out price. I have proof if they want to call my BS =). I had a great experience with the sales man, but the worst experience with the general manager! He was scared to even meet up with me, i wanted to discuss why i didnt need the Installed upgrades when the car wasnt even on the lot to install. The upgrades were total BS. Dont fall for it people you can get all these uprades 1/4 of cost. This tactic is how they make their money back! Anyways I walked away and Gillman Honda called me of an offer for the 2020 Si sedan 25.5k drive out! If I were to promote to my friends and family i would do Gillman! I'm a firm believer of service and taking car of your customer with that being said Javier in finance is awesome. Now time for the bad.... my experience from a sales/service perspective was horrible. First problem we saw a car listed for certified pre-owned Honda and as we negotiated a cheaper price they said we had to pay for the certification. Then we were informed by an employee as it is pre- certified we are suppose to receive two master keys and one valet key and did not and we're told that car keys are provided as is. I also took my car to a mechanic to have them inspect the car and found dirty air filters, and needed a oil change so I came back the next day to talk with Giovanni and was hassled to have the extra key provided and later after pushing gave us the master key that was owned to us. Then was able to take care of the oil change but could provide an RO or receipt of work done. This brought up additional concerns as I decided to look at the pre owned checklist online and review it in more detail. As I read the information I was suppose to be provided this information and had to ask for it. I was told by Giovanni in the past 11 years he has been in the business this has never been asked for but has a customer copy to provide to the customer. When I got in the dealership the first thing I was asked to do is sign the checklist and didn't review it with me at all. I found that the brake pad information was not filled out so asked for them to check it right then and there. Unfortunately I had to look at the paperwork and needed to make sure the car was indeed looked at and inspected so In the next day and told Tiffany will be my point of contact. She was willing to listen to the issue and was trying to rectify the issue. In addition offered me a loaner car which had I had to refuse as my focus was to have the car i wanted addressed. She also gave me a written document that they completed the oil change again after the hiccup with Giovanni. She then pointed me to Richard the service director in order to reinspect the checklist. I then communicated to Richard my concerns and showed him the pictures and videos that concerned me. He assured me that it will go through the 182 checklist and make sure all was corrected. At this point it is the second time I'm having the car reviewed and want the car to go through the proper checks regardless of me going into a garage and walking through it with him. I thought he understood this as the core of trust is broken at this point and delivering on service commitments would be the right thing to do. I was in the garage for a brief moment and I decided to let his team finish the work and provide me with written documentation the work was completed/reinspected. Of course, after having it was reinspected for the second time I reviewed it again and took it to 3rd party to have them inspect the car for benefit of the doubt. Sadly it came back issue with brake fluids, windshield wiper fluid low, it also had the reflector tape was still on the right rear as It needed work. My problem is how could you inspect it if it was covered up... Also found the air filters where dirty still and the sad part Richard had one set brand new and the used on I saw on the car and the third party pulled out the same dirty filter I saw on my car. At this point it's sad that I have to have the car that is pre certified reinspected 3 times by the same dealership. I refunded the next business day and to be honest it was more of a cold shoulder at first and I get it " oh god he's back again ". For me it was disheartening because I asked to speak to the general manger Chris was not in office over the phone and was told he was on vacation/not in office. Although managers and employees said he was right there at the desk and I made eye contact just to be acknowledged. And I beg that if he is decent in heart and ethics to step in and do what's right. They quoted us one price and when we came in, they tried to throw in additional add- ons and fees. the car with the msrp of $31,000, we ended up paying over $41,000. we needed a car so we were ok.. but that wasn't even the end of it. Two days later after we already finalized the purchase, they still keep on running our credit ... we had over 8 inquiries on our credit reports in the last three days, two of the three days were after the transaction was finalized. Provided them the stock number and they can't seem to find the car on the computer. took them an hour to find the car. and once we see the car the salesman tells us we can only test drive the car inside the parking lot because they are short staffed (but there were at least 5 other salesman in front of the store doing nothing) and somehow between me arriving and finally finding the car he got another customer to deal with. why have your store hours until 9pm and everyone leaves at 8pm. Did not read every line item when sitting with finance department but later discovered they are definitely not free. We paid nearly $900 for those free oil changes. Have never taken my car to anyone else buy Katy honda and it is not convenient to me at all but since I paid a hefty price for the oil change warranty I was going to get my monies worth. And now they no longer honor the warranty. My contract does not read valid until the dealership is sold. that is total fraud and a poor business decision on the new owners due to all the negative reviews. Not only that the last oil change before they stopped honoring was total crap. Took 2-1/2 hours and when I finally asked if it was done the jerk service manager acted like he was checking on it. Not only is he dishonest I believe his actions are blatantly unethical. He lied to us and said he was discounting the add on's to meet the monthly payments we were comfortable with because he could not match our credit union's interest rate. He then speeds through the paperwork like the person mentioned in the 2/16/22 review (a week ago!) distracting us and just sign all the pages. I get home the next day to find out he didn't discount anything instead he tacked on 3 more monthly payments changing the terms of the contract from 72 months to 75 months without telling us!!! Dealerships make money from services. I've been taking my Honda to dealerships since i purchased it. I find it interesting that there is always something wrong with my car all the time...? What the scamming dealerships do is make something on the car not work and then act like they fixed it and charge you a lot of money. For example the automatic door latch on Honda vehicles. Buyer beware! My experience purchasing a car at this dealership (Sept 2022) has been the worst I've ever had. I saw a Honda Pilot I liked and they tried to make me pay an additional 6K in tax! It took 2 weeks of negotiation to bring the price down to something more reasonable. They sold me a faulty car and then denied it. Within hours of the Honda Pilot being delivered to my address the emissions warning light came on. I took it back to the dealership and they claimed they had serviced it and solved the problem. A few days later, the light came back on. They finally admitted the car needed a part but it took 3 weeks to order it. In this time, they failed to communicate with me or return my calls requesting updates. When the part did come in, they informed me it would be a 1.5 hour wait but made me wait 3 hours! They said it would be quicker if I 'paid' for it which I refused to do because they had sold me a faulty vehicle. They are unprofessional in every way and are damaging the reputable name of Honda. I had a very negative initial experience with this dealership a week or so ago- had set up an appointment with them to get an appraisal for trade in. They had me wait around for 45 minutes before telling me they couldn't do an appraisal because the guy had an emergency but that I should go to Car Max because they could help me. I did, sold my old car to them, and took my business elsewhere. On top of that, the whole 45 minutes were full of "we are going to treat you great, you'll be so happy with your service, we are going to take great care of you" reassurances. More than anything, that made me more frustrated as he did nothing to back it up. I have to say, Robert (who I believe is one of the managers) did a great job of addressing my issue after the fact and Scott, whom assisted me with evaluating colors provided an excellent customer service experience and almost won my business back. I went to Katy Honda to have them inspect my brakes. They said I needed new front brakes including new rotors, and said that rotors could not be resurfaced due to the thickness being too low. I declined and took the car to another auto service business and they confirmed that the brakes were fine and that the rotors had plenty of thickness to be resurfaced when I do need to get them done later. I suspected that Honda Katy was not being honest, and this appears to be the case. Buyer Beware! read more

Highly disappointed!!! I WAS a regular customer here. I purchased my car here in Katy Sept 2016 and was pleased with my overall sales experience. However my experience with the service department has not been so great. Upon my purchase in 2016 I received lifetime oil change which somehow went away December 2021 post covid -19... and yet I still valued taking my car to Honda cars of Katy for the $80 oil change and whatever service needed to be done. Upon the 6 years and 5 months of having my car. Ive had several experiences with the service department that were not so good, (they left tools in my car, lost key/lock to my tires ect...) and I as a valued customer I continued to allow them to service my car and perform all maintenance, fluid flushes, and tire purchases here. Not too long ago I had some damage to my car from road hazard. I called to scheduled an appointment for body work and repairs, I told the service associate I would need a loaner car. He assured me I would have a loaner. I called the night before to confirm my appointment and availability of the loaner car. He confirmed. I pulled up to the dealership at 9am, checked in and he asked me if I had a ride??? The service associate LIED to me to get me in for repairs. I called the service manager and all he did was offer to fill up my tank for the inconvenience of my 45 min drive to the dealership. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I will NOT be coming to this place of service ever again! They lost a great customer. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! Convinced thousands of people to buy a car with their "lifetime oil change" package and then backed out of the deal without warning. Still waiting for my $400 refund for that package but I won't hold my breath read more
