I found Katy's Korner from a Google search of local breakfast spots. Can't go wrong with the comforts of breakfast diners. We went around 10am on a Thursday and were able to snag a table right away. Overall customer service was totally fine. Friendly servers and prompt service. I appreciated the attentiveness of our server who kept topping off my coffee mug. I ordered Joe's special, which was a scramble with ground beef and veggies. It also came with a side of boiled potatoes. This entire dish was pretty solid. The server was very rude and threw around these extra $2 charge without being clear for its cause. She didn't want to spend time explaining why, just that it's their policy and have been doing it for 15 years. There is no documentation about it. One of the BEST small restaurants with DA KILLER Egg Benedict dishes. It's a happy place for my husband and myself after church every Sunday. The foods are delicious and consistent, the decor is adorable, the services (especially with the beautiful, sweet and friendly Nicole) are top notch. I have always driven by this restaurant and finally decided to try it out for myself. The restaurant is cozy and was very busy for Sunday brunch. I like that they have lots of available seating and they were quick to bring out drinks. It was a little warm inside and there is a lot of quirky wall posters and decor. I opted for the corned beef hash and it was amazing. It had a lot of flavor and they use real corned beef. The country potatoes was also delicious and I found the portion to be large for the price. I will be back for brunch and maybe even try out the lunch menu. read more

Came here with a friend and ordered my usual, the French toast. Instead of meat, I opted for fruits. The French toast was heavily seasoned with cinnamon, which I loved. However, it wasn't moist/buttery enough. Also, the combo only came with one slice of toast; it was kind of expensive for what it is. The service was almost nonexistent. The workers weren't very friendly and they couldn't be bothered. Not sure if I'll come back again. There are other brunch places nearby that are much better than this one. read more

Not too often we come here for lunch. So glad we did on this rainy Saturday! I had the club sandwich with a bowl of hot clam chowder, delicious! My sandwich was so big had to fully open my mouth to get it in! Clam chowder was full of goodies. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap. She ate the whole thing! Decent food. Decent service. Decent prices. The front door swings open easily so we were pretty cold with the draft of wind. We got up to close it a few times. I came here today and ordered the veggie Benedict while my friend ordered French toast and two mimosas. The total was $47. One of the servers accidentally brought the wrong food to my table, realized it was incorrect and dropped it off at the correct table. The food definitely tasted better than it looked! Unfortunately, the overarching theme was "dry as dirt" We ordered Sunday Brunch through DoorDash Huevos Rancheros - flavor was okay, portion was very small and didn't travel very well. Cinnamon Roll - Dust in your mouth. You know when you leave one sitting on the counter a few days? Yeah, it was kinda like that. Kids French Toast - Dry and covered in a thick layer of dry cinnamon, once slice 1/2 a banana $7 French Toast w/mixed berries - decent quantity of toast, hella dry with all the cinnamon.... ooops no berries. $14 To go wasn't packaged up well (or handled with care en route) so one syrup container had exploded in the bag. $47 + $10 tip - $57 and a easter morning I can not get back. I definitely want to support local businesses right now, but this was just disappointing all the way around. read more

It is my husband and my 1 year anniversary and we started it at Katy's! As usual everything was amazing! I had the California Benedict and my husband had the Icelandic Benedict. Both with the potatoes. Everything was A+++. And to top it off Enrique was just as sweet as can be, quick and all around wonderful. He even brought us a treat for our anniversary. We arrived at 11:30 today for a late breakfast. We were seated quickly - which was expected as they only had about 5 tables occupied and no one else was waiting. One star for that. The gentleman who seated us was polite and came back a few minutes later to take our order. I pointed to the a frame sign by the door advertising "specials" for a turkey patty with eggs and avocado. He says "I'm not sure if we have that - let me check" and abruptly left. 5 minutes later another server comes by and says "can I take your order?" - we said no thank you we were waiting for the first server to return as he was checking on something for us. She says "just let me take your order instead" and I immediately got the impression she was trying to poach our table from him. I said no thank you and we would wait for him. He never came back. She returned again a few minutes later and said she was taking over and that he was only a busboy. That he doesn't know how to take orders. We've been to this restaurant many times and have been served by him at least 10 times over the years so I know that's not true. I'm not sure what game the servers are playing here (and there is obvious competition- probably because it's not seeing a lot of customers lately) but I'm not going to be part of it. We let her know we would eat elsewhere and wouldn't be back. She said "why!? What's the problem?!" We told her that we didn't enjoy the service and were not spending our money there. She literally stomped off and flung the door open to emphasize her anger. Really poor showing. Customer service is abysmal now. We will miss what this place used to be. Very confused as to why this place has such bad reviews because I truly enjoyed myself when I came here last weekend . Though I'm not sure what it was like under another management but this place is pretty good . The customer service is incredibly friendly and you get your food pretty quickly despite how busy they get. I ordered their salmon Benedict with a side of fruit and it was so flavorful, fruit was perfect and the Benedict was nice and crispy. It doesn't look like much from afar but when you get there, I would def recommend sitting outside, they have a cute patio area. Truly enjoyed myself here with reasonable prices. There is also a lot of parking in this shopping center too. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there if that makes sense. read more

We reserved a deck spot for 20 people. We arrived this morning and were seated accordingly. We had a few cancellations so there were 15 instead of 20. Our waiter was amazing. My niece brought a bottle of champagne for my wife for here birthday. The waiter didn't hesitate to open it for us and he brought guava and mango juice in regular cups for us including champagne flutes so my wife and the other adults could enjoy their mamosas. The food was fantastic and again the service was five star. The waiter interacted with both adults and kids with jokes and conversation. This was by far the best service I've ever witnessed.. I just wish I could remember his name. Now the bad.... For the hour that I was seated, I witness this gray hair man, whom I was told later, was the owner, berate the wait staff over and over again. This man's communications skill were quite lacking and the poor wait staff just took it. I am a very in you face person when something's not right but I didn't want to embarrass my wife and the rest of my family by confronting this man so I let it go. Fast forward to paying the bill... I pay the bill and within minutes of paying, the owner walks up to our table to rush us off so he could sit other people there. Again... I let it go because most of my family was there and I didn't want to cause a scene. We decided to take our cake home to sing happy birthday to my wife. Katy's gets 5 stars for food and service. -1 Star for the owners terrible attitude! It was almost a perfect morning! read more

Quick service, traditional american breakfasts with large sizes and yummy well made platters. Great for brunch, friend gatherings or family get togethers. Definitely kids friendly. I have never in my 75 yrs of life ever been asked to vacate a restaurant for overstaying by about 10 minutes. Because the table was needed for new customers. And it was appalling that when we were leaving we saw many available empty tables outside and on the large patio. Also shocking was to find out later that he was the owner. He was an arrogant older Caucasian guy. I called later to check about his position. I will not be giving my money to him ever again. Very cute breakfast joint with funny posters all over the wall. My favorite poster was "drink coffee! Do stupid things faster with more energy!" It was a bit crowded (couldn't use the restroom cuz line was so long) But they had sweet and efficient servers, and most importantly, pretty good food. They also had a small spot for kids to play in! It's very tiny and everything seemed very worn out but better than nothing right?! Their food is just normal, common american breakfast you can find anywhere so don't come here if you are looking for something exotic. Have been going to Katy's every week for the past few years. Maria and staff have been great! The food and service has alway been terrific.

The og breakfast-brunch spot. Used to be the local hangout about 20ish years ago when Bishop Ranch was new, Camino Ramon wasn't a through street yet and mom moved the fam from SF to San Ramon to Pacific Bell's new headquarters. Today, Pacific Bell is no more and San Ramon has a new hotspot with the City Centre. Didn't feel like fighting the crowds so came to Katy's Korner for a more laid back vibe. Calamari steak was tender firm without being rubbery. Loved the tangy tartar sauce. Some caveats. Food could have been hotter. Also some of the home fries had a black crust. Just cut off the burnt bits and the rest of the potato was fine. In general, food was decent. Menu has a few tweaks but hasn't really changed a whole lot, huge portions of comfort food. read more

Solid 3.5, but rounded it up to a (frankly undeserved) 4. This place has the potential to be wonderful, but I've just had some mediocre experiences with both the food and service. They're hit or miss for sure, because when it's good, it's *great*. Easy parking in the plaza, cute and quaint atmosphere inside, and a lovely patio out front beneath a big tree; I really recommend having brunch out there on a nice day. However, food-wise, I expect more consistency and quality given the other options in the area at the same price point. Last time I went, my little brother's orange juice had an overwhelming onion flavor to it, which is quite a shame because I think the orange juice is freshly squeezed there, and usually great. Maybe someone accidentally managed to juice an onion into their supply that morning, who knows. This time, 2 of the 3 things we ordered left us a bit disappointed. The strawberry french toast ($14.95) was covered in so much cinnamon, some bites could probably have been recorded as a "cinnamon challenge" attempt. While the Santa Fe Benedict ($14.95) was delicious, one of my eggs was more akin to "hard-boiled without the shell" than poached. Service, similarly, lacks consistency. Some servers are friendly and attentive, while others ignore you even when it's not busy, and give off an air of apathy even when interacting with you. Ugh. Please, please straighten out some of these issues, because I really want to love Katy's Korner. Hopefully my next brunch here is a bit better. read more
