Great beers. Good food. Friendly service. Awesome happy hour! We tried a couple samplers. The husband found a beer he really enjoyed so he ordered a few of those. The calamari and lumpia appetizers were bomb! The chicken wings were better than the ones we had at the happy hour the previous day :) My salad was HUGE and it satisfied my vegetable craving. Loved the guava balsamic salad dressing . Husbands burger was hella good too. I stole a bunch of his fries. Oh and I had a Jell-O shot. We wanted local beers, and yummy fish, and Kauai Island Brewery delivered! We're not into IPAs (they had a bunch), but the wheat and the golden ale were delicious! Our fish tacos each had a large piece of tuna (cooked, not seared), with yummy salsa that still allowed you to taste the fish. The fish & chips (fresh local tuna) were nicely breaded, moist and tender, with amazing home cut French fries. Service was very friendly and quite attentive!! The breeze through the indoor dining kept us feeling comfortable - wish we could return ... next trip! read more

My burger was way over cooked, bland and left me feeling super sick (and it was $15 for a dry patty with a thick slice of a barely red tomato, some thickly sliced white onion, and wilted lettuce..). Great brewery in what looks like a giant warehouse. Had ahi poke and Lumia. Lumpia was scalding hot (good thing..super fresh) but so-so as a dish (though it did pair well with our beers lilikoi ale and waialeale ale) the ahi poke was delicious with a nice firmness to the fish and the sauce really made it great. The beers: lilokoi and waialeale ale were really refreshing. The lilokoi was about 30:70 in your face passion fruit. The waialeale was a lighter ipa, but to me was refreshing after a long day of snorkeling. Side note, its next to the red dot shop, and kauai cookie company....good times Came back a second time a few days later. Beers still great. Lumpia was much better...might be whoever made it that day. Flavor was more cohesive. Ended up munching on a dozen teriyaki wings. Bomb. Service this time was great, shout out to our server Jimmy. After 20 more minutes, one of the hostess came to our table to tell us they were out of the crab stuffed mushrooms, one of their main dishes at 7pm. Fish tacos has a filet the size of a french fry. Food was very underwhelming. Do not recommend!! Find another local place that at least cares about serving you. read more

Lizzy suggested the shrimp and pork lumpia and let me tell you, we did not have any regrets! Super flavorful, light, and crispy! But the real star of the show was the Korean fried chicken. SOOOOOOO good and crispy! The Mac salad on the side was to die for too. Overall, give this brewery a shot. Great restaurant with fantastic service. We had a party at five and really enjoyed the dinner menu ,they have excellent specials that were very good. The beer selection was also fantastic variety of beers. Like to give a shout out to Chase our waiter who helped us with our dinner selections and beer choices. We had lunch here on the way to Waimea and Amber was our friendly server. She was very nice with a great attitude and made good suggestions. I had the green papaya salad with grilled mahi-mahi, which is the best salad I've ever had in Kauai. I'm so tired of bad salads here. It was flavorful, with a nice sweet chili dressing and had cilantro, peppers and cucumber with the papaya. Generous serving of fish too. My boys had the kalua pork sandwich and kalua bowl and the grilled fish sandwich. Everyone"s plates were clean by the end of the meal. Amber checked in on us several times and our water glasses and other drinks were kept full. This was one of the better meals we've had during our stay this week. With only two breweries on the island, there's not a large amount of craft beer variety to choose from. That being said, both are amazing options. If you find yourself on the south side of the island near Hanapepe/Port Allen, this is your spot. My wife and I were not only amazed with the fresh taste of our house salad, but the just-right crispy crunch that accompanied each bite of the lumpia! The beer was spot on and I especially loved the lilikoi ale -- definitely makes you appreciate true Hawaiian brew. What's more, the bartender was super chill! We were looking for places to buy the famous but rare sugarloaf pineapple. He was able to rattle off a bunch of names. While none of them had any in stock, we were super thankful he went through the trouble to try helping us out (we ended up finding one at an organic market in Hanalei). One last thing I want to mention is that they have a pretty cool collection of pinball machines on the upper deck. Don't be shy, walk up there and play a game or two! Kudos to the way these guys operate! Next time I'm on Kauai I will have to stop by again! read more

Beer here was great had the German Pilsner blend and it was phenomenal. The calamari was excellent so fresh and the slices of calamari were 2 cm thick never seen calamari that big before in my life. Also had a maitai that was great as well. Building is old but so what we had a great time there and would come back again for the atmosphere and great drinks and food. Amazing spot for beer and food! We enjoyed the patio seating and views of the ocean. It was a great, and easy stop off the highway before driving north after hiking in Waimea canyon. The fish was fresh and tasty, poké and tacos were both highlights! Portion size was filling as well. We tried a variety of beers, each different one was a solid & satisfying fit with the variety, and each beer, just like the food, tasted fresh! "The Fonz" IPA was my favorite! After a long day at the beach, we went to Kauai island brewery for dinner a cold beer. We have a large group with lots of kiddos, and they accommodated our party wonderfully! Everyone was so friendly, service was great, and the food was delicious. They even have a spot upstairs with pin ball machines. So fun! read more

Very average place. The beers and stelzer were just ok as well as the food. The grilled chicken sandwich was good, the ahi had way too much sauce. Other food was ok. The one issue was half our food came out (for a group of 6) and then other half came out about 10mins after. Excellent IPAs and lagers, fresh food- the fish and chips are the best I've had in years. It's located close to the ocean, so there's a nice breeze. Great options for beer plus they have liquor, wine, and non-alcohol drinks available. Staff are very friendly. Upstairs there's a game room which makes it fun for all. They have a solid menu for appetizers and main plates we ordered some flights of beer and a couple appetizers (lumpia and poke). We sat up at the bar and watched some football while relaxing and enjoying the location. They also sell apparel. We like coming when we're on the island...we just wish it was a bit closer to everything. read more

Beer was terrific. The food was fantastic! Had the fish tacos, fish and chips, hamburger and pork sandwich. The hamburger was well cooked, ordered medium and it actually came that way. The fish of the day was swordfish. My wife and son said both were great. I had the pork sandwich. The sandwich itself was ok, but the homemade BBQ sauce was amazing as was the house made mustard. Very busy. We left then came back since it wasn't clear to us that we could park in the red dirt parking lot. Got seated quickly but service was a bit slow but most likely because they were super busy and a bit understaffed. We got the nachos and poke with a porter. The porter honestly didn't have much of a flavor and tasted like a slightly heartier version of Bud Light. Poke was very fresh but had no flavor other than the very plain soy sauce it came with. At least they were generous with the portions! The nachos were all stuck together due to the cheese and really hard to get off... but the kalua pork that came with it tasted really good / tender with amazing marinade. Might come by again to give their other beer a try but likely will skip the food next time read more

I for one do not recommend this place here is my experience -1 star: server was in a rush and didnt even help us with the menu. -2 stars: found a fly in our salad (when we pointed it out and asked if the fly was on the plate or in the salad bin they said it came from outside) seriously? -stars: The manager came over to the table but all I heard was excuses like (were doing what we can to keep the flies out of this place blah blahs blah) Yes took the salad off the check but nothing to compensate for the trouble? Late post - went here last Sunday, it was really crowded we had a large party of 8 adults not including the kids. According to my friends who frequent the place, it's one of busiest they've seen it. Anywho, servers are super friendly however a but slow and forgetful. The food is good and the beer is equally as good. Wings were nicely fried, smoke meat was good, fries and onion wings were crisp. I like red beers for the Cane Red did it for me. The others liked the IPA. I think if management trains their both wait staff and kitchen staff better, then there wouldn't be so much disconnects when they be slammed. There is also a game room on the second floor.
