We got the soy garlic flavored boneless chicken with the honey bbq sauce. The honey bbq sauce looks and tasted similar to chick fil a sauce to me and I love that sauce. The store itself was kept mostly clean as well except for a few crumbs on table. This place is awesome! Went to the grand opening of Kbop and was impressed! Kbop is located in a large plaza with Sprouts, McDonald's, CVS and a few other small stores, finding it wasn't hard. Parking was plentiful, a few front row spots, but since it's a plaza, there was a lot of spaces. The store itself was nice and tidy. Nothing too special, a few decorations here and there, but it's simple and does the job. Service was great! The cashier was very friendly and helpful when making decisions on sauces and other options. Food really made it the 5 stars and beyond. Food was G.R.E.A.T.! Prices are very fair compared to other Korean food joints in the SGV. Food portions were ample and the taste was great! They offered a few different types of sauces, so be sure to tey them all! These are some outstanding Korean rice bowls. My spouse and I picked up lunch here on a whim, and our expectations were definitely surpassed. The kalbi was tender and super flavorful, as were the chicken and spicy pork, and there was a good ratio of meat and vegetables to rice. The restaurant was very clean, had a nice simple, fresh design. On one of the walls is a large logo of the restaurant, perfect for a photo to remember your meal by. This is pretty much a Americanized Korean version of yoshinoya. Bulgogi is dry AF. Rice at 11:39am is stale . Mind you we ordered quite a bit of protein ... chicken ( needs some kind of sauce to be palatable ) , bulgogi beef ( dry ) , kalbi was ok . For the price of the total meal $64+ , and we still were hungry after ? Yeah not coming back . Sorry. Ps for the kitchen staff marinating meats : cut against the grain . Korean marinade DOES contain black pepper . ( does make a world of difference Vs just mixing sugar,and soy and calling it a day.) Clean establishment . I am adding a second review with another 5 stars. This time, I called in to order just for myself. I had a few questions about the bowls and ingredients, how they were prepared or seasoned, the sauces, if I could customize a bowl etc. and the gentleman who assisted me was patient and answered my questions to the best of his ability. He broke down the type of bowls offered and why they could not be customized but noted I could have items removed. I appreciated his professionalism and patience as I was driving and looking at their online menu so my focus was not 100% and I had a lot of questions (as I normally do). I ordered ala carte garlic soy boneless wings; it says 10 pieces but Sarah is not stingy with her portions. They came in a box that was partially opened so as to not become soggy. They were well seasoned and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also ordered the BibimBOP bowl with white rice as my base. This bowl comes with fresh red cabbage and carrots, uchae (which I learned is kind of like spinach and is cooked and seasoned), seasoned bean sprouts (I think), and spring mix. For my protein I chose those amazing mushrooms and a fried egg. I also added green onion. I am addicted to those mushrooms. I don't know what Sarah puts in them but they are like crack to me. This bowl comes with the BibimBOP sauce which was too spicy for me last time so I asked to sub with the sweet chili sauce and to have the BibimBOP sauce on the side. They put all sauces on the side for me, including a side of sesame oil. I also got a side of pickled white radish (which I think comes with the chicken). I paid approximately $28. I came home and mixed up my bowl, adding the white radish. I used all the sweet chili sauce and a few droplets of the BibimBOP sauce. I had enough to eat with the boneless wings for dinner, and enough to bring to lunch for work the next day. This bowl was delicious. It was packed full of flavor and it felt healthy because it had a good amount of vegetables in it. KBOP kitchen will have my continued support as long as their food is this good. The ambiance is nice too it is a good family type restaurant or on the go, going with a couple of friends is a peak. Your food is already overpriced and you don't include sauce with your meals? We should at least get one sauce with our bowls and if we want extra then we pay for more. Instead two of your employees got upset how one of your workers gave a customer sauce for free the previous time he was here. When he came back again they didn't give him sauce the employees got upset and said how they can't give him any he has to pay. Then proceeded to ask for the name so that employee can get written up. It was honestly very disappointing seeing this. That employee shouldn't get written up especially with how expensive your food is and over something so small. He was doing a kind thing.
