We ordered one Beef Bone Broth with Brisket and one large Galbi Tang for a family of five, and we were all completely stuffed with plenty left over for at least two more meals. The portion sizes here are massive and definitely worth sharing. The bone broth was lightly seasoned, which I actually appreciated since it allowed us to customize the flavor. Adding a little salt and black pepper gave the soup more depth and really brought everything together. This is one of my absolute favorite Korean comfort foods, and I think this location does it perfectly. They also offer one complimentary soup refill, with additional refills available for $4. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces in the structure. Overall, a great spot for a hearty, satisfying meal with generous portions and delicious, comforting flavors.

Went in for dinner and it was very busy inside on a Friday night. Servers were busy handling other customers so it took a while for them to get our order but they were quick with giving us banchan to start off. It was well lit inside and overall clean with staff who were quick with cleanliness and service. I ordered the Ox Tail Soup and I love how it's not too salty to begin with. Adjusted the salt and pepper to my liking. The oxtail meat came in a variety of sizes and they fell right off the bone. The kimchi and pickled radish was fresh and wasn't too spicy maybe with a little kick but well made overall. Overall refreshing, delicious, and fun to eat too. 10/10

Came by again for a weekday night dinner with the family! When we entered our party was already seated in the back, but there was some people hanging around the entrance. We were a big crowd so had to split our large orders to one per table, it was a bit unusual in terms of timing as half our table ordered first and got rice first but we got our orders at the same time except rice was late (after the fire show). It didn't look super busy, they have plenty of tables available despite people waiting in the front, we came for a 5:30pm dinner so only a couple tables were full, however, we had to continuously flag someone to help us. At 6:30pm when the crowd really picked up, service was harder to get. The food was just as delicious, our side ordered nonspicy but somehow my kid found a few beef pieces spit as there was red pepper flakes, I don't remember it being on the nonspicy version. The banchan and rice were great with the meat, I think the nonspicy is much sweeter but I can taste the beef and sauce more since with the spicy version all I feel is pain. Overall, it was a nice dinner, we did have to ask a few times for more drinks and our other tables rice which not sure if they forgot or they took that long.

Mini company event brought me here on a lunch on a Friday and this place continues to not disappoint. We ordered the galbi jim with extra rice cakes and cheese and 7 individual soup orders along with some dumplings. Personally a regular, now the co-workers were all new and never been here before are already talking about coming back lol. Galbi Jim - still amazing, ordered at level one spice, groundbreaking portion as usual and everything was fresh, tender, and bursting with flavor. I personally ordered the Teuk Galbi something soup and with a bit of sesame sauce and salt was a meal in itself. Soup broth is just right hiding the rice noodles, an assortment of onions and tender mouthwatering slabs of rib. The ambiance in here is lively and moderately loud when it's a full house. Ample seating - never have to wait too long and tons of parking. Our server that greeted and took care of us was Alex this run. Alex treated our group like VIPs and just earn this place 5 new regulars as my group was expressing regret not coming here sooner. Alex made the entire experience smooth like a mini vacation rather than just any old restaurant. Will be coming back for lunch also from now on. Other mentions of insane service include Vic ultra friendly and knows exactly what I'm going to order now - my favorite insomnia visits, Ted, Senna(sp?), and Wang. All of them remember us, give us the VIP treatment turning this restaurant into something I look forward to. What's crazy is I see them taking care of everyone around us with equal passion. Benchmark breaking service. Continue to highly recommend this place and yes it's really 24 hours!

Still a regular here but usually late night/early morning with Vic and Cenna taking care of us. This time, however, my work group decided to meet here for our team lunch on Friday coming from as far as the valley and Orange County. Luckily, Alex who usually works nights, happened to be pulled in for lunch and he took phenomenal care of us. We had seven people and the place was half full with only a few servers and he didn't miss a beat. We shared a galbijjim and everyone got a variety of individual soups. It was a hit with everyone and they were all very content with the casual atmosphere and the belly satisfying food and flavors. Per usual, quality, taste, portions, and service are all top notch. We're never disappointed when we come here and it was the perfect spot to entertain our group. Shout out to the usual band of wonderful staff.

I've been to sun nong dan a few times and I really enjoy it! This most recent time, we got the galbi jjim with cheese on top - so good! It's so yummy with purple or white rice. It's definitely comfort food and makes me feel so warm and cozy eating it. I highly recommend it on a cold day especially. I loved the potatoes, carrots, rice cakes as well as the ribs of course. Also very cool They also give you side dishes to enjoy, unfortunately I didn't get any photos but there were a few things..I liked the kimchi! Service was great. I feel like the galbi jjim took awhile to serve, but that's understandable. They cut off the meat for you as well as torch the galbi jjim which is a great photo/video op time! There are also some lollipops if you want a dessert - my niece and nephew love this part haha. Ambiance is open spacing and lots of seating. It's definitely more casual than fancy, but a good place if you've been dating for awhile or to catch up with a friend. You can definitely have a large party here and since it's open 24 hours it's great for late nights!

Every time we drive down from the Bay Area to LA, this is the first stop. The galbitang broth is crystal clear but don't let that fool you, the beef flavor is deep and serious, the kind that only comes from hours of proper cooking. They serve the beef two ways, sliced and on the bone, which makes the whole bowl a multisensory experience. We always build it with purple rice, goji berries, and mushrooms, then drag everything through the dipping sauce with fresh onions and peppers. Generous portions and great value. Service is hit or miss depending on how busy they are, and when it's packed the place gets loud and chaotic, bright lights and wall to wall tables. But open 24/7 means you can always find a quieter window. A family staple every time we hit LA.

Came here 11:30pm after a movie, one of few places other than Denny's that were still open. (Even the good ol' 24-hour ABC Cafe in MPk closes at 1:00am now.) Ordered #8 Galbi Tang (beef rib and brisket soup). The clear broth is excellent and comes with glass noodle. The banchans are some of the best I've had -- cabbage kimchee, radish kimchee, and green chive kimchee (my fave!) The only con is the tough beef ribs. Loved the tender brisket slices.

Open 24 hours! Great for late night meals and get together with friends. Can get busy at times but they move things along pretty well. Service is friendly and efficient. Good size restaurant and seating area, despite being busy at times. Their food is delicious. You can order for yourself, such as the tang broths or share a Galbi Jjim with your party. A lot of parties get it with the cheese on top of their Galbi - definitely Instagram worthy when they pull out the flame blower. Personally think it tastes great without, but you can't go wrong either way. One of the few places that open 24 hours AND serves great food. Check it out!

02/14/26 Saturday We called to order before 10:30 AM and go there around 10:28 AM. Order was ready by the time we arrived. We paid when we picked up. #13 Yuk Gae Jang was kinda oily and pretty spicy. Still tasty. Umami packed. I diluted it a bit at home by adding more meat and veggies. #4 Do Ga Ni Tang - the meat was a little rancid and some chunks were very tough. It's like they used old cooked meat and reheated it for me + some cuts not long enough cooking time. The creamy broth was still consistent and delicious though. Very jiggly when chilled so we know it's full of collagen! Surprised and happy they haven't raised the prices for their breakfast special. Still $11.99 + $1 for takeout. The only downside to takeout is that you can't get refills on your sides.

Galbi-jjim is the best here! We get the large and that happily feeds 6 people. Ordered the sul lung tang & yukgaejang, each seasoned well and and rich in flavor.

Came here and ordered a large size of Galbi Jjim to share for 4 people. It comes with 4 rice and you can choose from white or purple grain rice (recommend purple). Large portion is good for 4-5 people depending how much each person eats. If you add cheese for an extra cost you can see how they melt it. Ban chan or side dishes are complimentary and included. When you finish you can ask for me. We like to mix it in with our galbi jjim. Water or barley tea options are complimentary. Water tasted like good filtered water. Free and easy to find parking in parking lot. Restaurant is clean with good air conditioning. Lots of indoor seating. Highly recommend.

24/7 is perfect because you can come here after drinking to sober up. Soupy things are always the best cure. I also love the leek? kimchi. I am still getting number 7 but my friend love their sulong tang. I feel like that one is too plain but thats why you have to add the salt. Did they give less food than before? Not sure but from my pictures it seems like they did. Anyway still one of my favorite spots to go to.

    cheese goodness!

Unfortunately, the meat tastes like congealed tofu, and its salty broth tastes like instant ramen powder. The meal tastes frugal. I arrived at Northern Cafe (Monterey Park) on Monday (around 3:07PM). Staff tried to help me despite the language barrier. My food was ready within four minutes and 23 seconds. Very FAST! As mentioned, I ordered the House Special Beef & Tendon Soup ($14.50). I enjoyed the springy noodles, but there were some portions of the noodles that were clumpy and stuck together. Still, it carried a cheerful bounce, and it had a satisfying texture. Unfortunately, I disliked all other aspects of this meal. The meat did not taste fresh, and the broth tasted like instant powder. It's a cheap meal for the BIG portion of noodles, but it also tastes cheap. On ambiance, Northern Cafe (Monterey Park) is very clean and comfortable. There's plenty of tables, and the location sparkled. The location also felt spacious and well-ventilated. This location id also family friendly since I noticed a stack of high chairs for children. The music is upbeat, and there's many displayed flat screen televisions. Overall, Northern Cafe (Monterey Park) is not bad. It's cheap food with decent portions. On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit.
