    Spicy Cold Noodles (Bibimnaengmyeon)
    Winn H.

I've been to Moobongri a few years ago, and I was surprised I hadn't remembered. That experience must not have really stood out. I went again with some friends recently in the mood for kalbijjim and bossam. We also had two bottles of soju and bibimnaengmyeon. Parking is always easy here, as there's ample parking underground. The best part is it's covered too. For a Saturday night, the wait was about 30 minutes. The most underwhelming experience here has got to be the subpar service. After being sat, we noticed that other tables sat after us were immediately served. Perhaps it was because we were at the corner, but we really had to flag down a server after 20 minutes. This was a repeated experience too with side dishes. Our first dish to arrive was the spicy cold noodles. Adding to the slow service was the lack of scissors upon the arrival of this dish, which is nearly a must-have if you've eaten it before. Our next dish was the bossam, and we needed more lettuce and garlic. Thankfully, we were able to flag down another server to help us. Our kalbijjim, the star of the show, was last to arrive. Now complete, each dish was indeed tasty, a solid 4 / 5. However, the lack of service and attention really ruined the night. Other tables had staff members regularly check in on them, but our table did not. For a Saturday night with lackluster service like this, I really would rather eat elsewhere.

Good food! We came here for the cold noodles on the way back home and it was what we needed. It was quiet on a mid afternoon and staff was moderately nice We each got a combo and we will be back for our cravings if we are in the area and not wanting to head out to LA

It was pretty packed when we came on a Sunday around 6pm. They have a waitlist you can join. We ordered the spicy cold noodle, regular cold noodles, and sundubu with mini bossam. It was pretty good and the store was clean. If you are coming here for cold noodles, I recommend the spicy one :)

Me and my dad's go to spot for spicy nangmyeon (cold noodles) in the SGV. They also have a $11 special Galibitang for lunch. When I went to school in Berkeley, I tried the MooBongRi located in Oakland and thought that one was really good. I decided to try the San Gabriel location. However the menu is a little different. The Oakland location had this KILLER Korean fried chicken, whereas this one did not. Figured I try different menu items they offered. Service is quick and attentive. There's usually an open table when I go. Quaint little restaurant with seating outside as well. Very convenient lunch spot, as there is always parking available in the underground garage. Bossam, 8.75/10: came with pickled garlic which is a must. Gave a generous portion of pork and is accompanied well by the kimchi. Pork is seasoned well throughout. Spicy Nangmyeon, 9/10: my only complaint is that it could have a bigger portion of beef. Noodles are nice and chilled and they give a big scoop of gochujang, a little bit too much in my opinion. Noodles have a nice chew to them. Make sure to add the mustard and vinegar. Very refreshing bowl of noodles on a hot day. Steamed Egg, 7/10: no surprises here. A solid bowl of warm steamed egg in a rich broth. Although, a little pricey for a steamed egg imo.

Service here was great, very friendly and helpful staff. We sat outside as we brought our dog with us (points due to dog friendly!!) the food was great. I was craving some warm, comforting Korean soup and was not disappointed at all. The restaurant is kind of small inside, but since we sat outside it didn't matter to us lol. We will definitely visit again!

I enjoyed trying this Korean restaurant. It's located in a small plaza. They have outdoor seating with heat lamps. I was able to sit outside with my dog for dinner. The staff are nice and attentive even though we're outside. The menu has a lot of soups to try and combos so you can try a soup and a smaller meat item. I tried a seafood tofu soup with a small bossam combo and a yukgaejang. The mini bossam is the very size to share with another person. The soups were hot and flavorful. Definitely a comforting meal on a cold day. They also have cold noodles which I'll be happy to try next time.

I've known about Moobongri Soondae for a while, given its convenient location in San Gabriel and that it is located near Yi Mei. I decided to go for lunch with friends one day so we could share multiple dishes. The restaurant is small but the seating is sufficient. The servers are very nice and attentive, and we got some complimentary tea and some ice to cool down the tea. The banchan is a bit sparse, but I liked the spinach. We shared a variety of dishes, including bibim naengmyeon, stone pot bibimbap, seafood pancake, and bossam. All the dishes were very solid. My favorite was probably the bossam. The naengmyeon was perfect for the hot weather, but tasted similar to other naengmyeon that I've had. The bibimbap was also fairly similar to other Korean restaurants in the area. The seafood pancake was ok. Overall it was a solid restaurant in SGV.

Moobongri Soondae is located in the same plaza as Yi Mei and My Little Paris Cafe with plenty of parking available. My husband and I decided to eat an early dinner here with our little girl dog on a Saturday earlier this month. What brought us here was that they were dog friendly, this place was also on my bookmark list and we were somewhat in the area. When we walked through the entrance (there is no back entrance if you dine in with your pup, it is all enclosed so you have to enter through the main entrance of the restaurant), we were greeted by an employee. I told him that we wanted to dine outside with our dog. He led the way to their seating outside and he handed us menus. While we were looking over the menus, he had set up the outdoor heater after we asked if we could have the heater on. We were also brought a pitcher of water and 2 empty cups. After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Banchan- Complementary. Only came with 4 types: 2 types of kimchi (one with cucumbers, one with cabbage), seasoned bean sprouts and seasoned sliced fish cakes. We did get refills but I am disappointed with the variety and wished there were more. #4 Spicy Pork Belly Soup, $19.99 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish. I am not a spicy eater so I didn't have any but my husband liked it. It came with a side of rice. #36: Bibimbap, $20.99 prior to tax- I decided to order this. I had asked for this to not be made with gochujang since it is automatically added. So I was brought a side of some kind of brown sauce (with perhaps the base was soy sauce but it wasn't just soy sauce). I really liked this dish and found it to be filling. In general, this is one of those those go to dishes I usually like to order at Korean restaurants (and also tofu soups). The portion size really is perfect for 2 people. Extra side of rice, $1.99 prior to tax- We ordered the side of rice for our little girl (my husband ate part of it too). I am surprised that they charge for rice (although I already knew since it was listed on the menu). It is rare to see that an Asian restaurant would charge for rice but we decided to add it to the dinner I brought for our little girl dog (yes we are one of those people who cook for their dog). ------------------------------------- (Total= $47.36 after tax, prior to tip) Service was attentive and friendly. I greatly appreciate that the 2 employees helping us did not forget about us, even though we were sitting outside. I enjoyed my food and definitely see myself coming back here again with my little girl dog.

First time coming here for dinner with friends. The place was nice and cozy and service was pretty good. We ordered a couple dishes to share including Galbitang, Spicy beef soup, grilled pork belly, steamed egg and Galbi. My favorites were the Galbitang and the steamed egg. The Galbi was good too I thought it was a bit too fatty. I might come back again for lunch since they have the Galbitang at the lunch price for only $11.

This place is always consistent. I stopped by for lunch and ordered cold noodles, spicy cold noodles and galbi. I see a new item on the menu pork belly bbq samkyupsal. I'd love to try it next time. They also have lunch special pork belly soup and soulongtang soup. Never had an issue with finding parking here. You'll catch me here on a hot day for sure.

Hands down my top 5 goto spot for Korean cold noodles. The Naengmyeon here are beyond delicious, with rich clear ice cold broth and fresh chewy noodles I usually drink all the broth 1st then ask for a refill to finish off the noodles The location has the option to choose a bossam and Naengmyeon combo for the best pairing add a bottle or 2 of soju. Service was fast and easy, the dinning area is always nice and clean with good modern decor Definitely recommend

I came here after seeing it on TikTok, and it was a huge disappointment. The food was just okay--not worth the experience--but the service was unacceptable. On Sunday (04/19/2026 at 2:15 PM), we ordered a combo tofu soup with steamed pork and a spicy soup. I clearly told the server multiple times that I do NOT eat green onions or white onions and asked for none in my soup. The soup came out loaded with onions anyway. When I pointed it out, the staff took the dishes back with an obvious attitude--no apology, no acknowledgment. When I spoke again to the original server, he didn't apologize either and just walked away. I even overheard them in the kitchen confirming that I had asked for no onions. The issue isn't just that they got the order wrong--it's how they handled it. The staff were rude, dismissive, and clearly didn't care. When the soup was brought back, there were still onions in it. Later, when packing it to-go, I found more onions underneath, which made it obvious they didn't remake the dish--they just picked some off the top and sent it back out. Completely unacceptable. First time here and definitely the last. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. The service alone is enough reason to stay away.

Came here a few times recently... For birthdays and reunion meetups. A big fan of their galbi-jim here as the portion is HUGE given it was over $100 for the large. But even with my heavy eater family, there was still a sizable amount to take home. That's a decent portion in my book. I really like their fishcake here. Kimchi is more on the fermented size here. Bossam is also very solid here, doesn't feel heavy here even though you're eating fatty pork belly. The tangs here are about what you'd expect from this style of place. No salt included, add it yourself. Seafood pancake a little pricey here and not spectacular. Service is friendly and they keep you topped up on banchan most of the time. Clean and busy spot.

My crew and I went on a Friday night, and even though it was very busy, we were seated fairly quickly. There were four of us, and here's what we ordered: chicken fried rice, Shanghai-style chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, and juicy pork dumplings. Chicken Fried Rice: It was soft and pillowy with great flavor, though I felt it could have used a bit more color. It looked a little pale, but it was still delicious. Shanghai-Style Chow Mein: This was perfect. The flavor was spot on, the sauce was well-balanced, and the noodles had the ideal texture. The ratio of noodles, vegetables, and meat was just right. Sweet and Sour Chicken: This was the highlight for me. My only regret is not ordering more to take home. The chicken was crispy without being overdone, and it was coated in that delicious sweet and sour sauce. Juicy Pork Dumplings: We were at a dumpling house, so we had to order dumplings. These did not disappoint. They were very flavorful, and the broth inside was rich and satisfying. We originally planned to order more dishes, but the portions were generous, and we ended up with just the right amount to leave satisfied. Overall, this place lives up to the hype. Nothing frozen everything made to order Delicious Quality ingredients So tasty And the customer service was spectacular...that's so hard to find nowadays. I cannot sing enough praises My family and I came in for Sunday dinner and were seated quickly, food came fast and servers so very attentive. I look forward to making our family dining here a regular thing!

I tend to eat on the slow side but this sizeable bowl was slurped down quickstyles. They are know for their Bún Bò Huế. So had to give them a try. Honestly I haven't had the delicious red soup in a while but its probably the best I ever had. Service is great foods delicious and the ambiance typical mom and pop spot, feels like an asian household which is also warming inside. Clean also I always like to add. Parking on street and the backside. This yummy soup so tasty but overwhelming with salt. has levels of flavor and obviously cooked for hours on end. Alot of meat also. My wife got the pho and also bomb diggity, there was spots of yellow floating on the soup which meant.... flavor. Springrolls also delicious, pretty big 2 for $7.00 wish there was another but killed everything anyways. The Bún Bò Huế is sometimes slept on and this place makes it the best in the area!!

I've tried quite a few malatang spots around the area, and honestly YinTang Malatang Hotpot has…read morebecome one of my go to places whenever I 'm craving something warm and flavorful. What sets them apart is that they are one of the best values being at $13.99 a pound per bowl of food. With other spots raising their prices it is refreshing to see this place keep it low. One thing I appreciate is that their vast selection of vegetables. Other places I see less variety and this place actually has tong ho chinese veggies. Service for them is fairly efficient. Once you walk inside the restaurant I was quickly greeted and escorted to a table where I can then begin building my bowl for my personal hotpot. I waited less than 10 seconds before I was shown a table on a Saturday night! The ambiance for this place seems to be Chinese themed and very clean. I do like the Chinese decor as it adds to their charm quite a bit when eating. It really makes you feel like you're back in China. Overall, I recommend YinTang over a few other places if you want a no fuss, fast and clean place to eat a bowl of warm malatang. You can't beat it right now at $13.99!

Same Hot Pot Obsession... Slightly More Parking Anxiety…read more Came back for our usual hot pot fix and immediately the first thing I noticed was... what happened to the parking in the back?! It looks completely closed off now, so parking felt very limited -- maybe about 4 curbside spaces in the front. We got lucky arriving around 7:30 PM and somehow scored front-row parking, which honestly felt like winning the lottery. Prices are still the same at $13.99/lb, which I appreciate... but can someone please explain why it is physically impossible to keep your bowl under 2 pounds? I go in with a plan every time and somehow leave with a mountain. I got my usual picks, although I did notice the name changed (I think now Odeng Hotpot?) but it seems like same ownership. Inside still feels the same too. I also noticed a few of the selections were a little different and maybe a little less than when I came about 4 months ago. A couple of my usual favorites weren't there, but I figured maybe they were just out for the night. My husband and I got the spicy & sour beef broth and wow... so good. Super flavorful, piping hot, and exactly what we were craving. Also -- fair warning at the sauce bar: beware of the red chili sauce. I confidently added a full spoonful like I knew what I was doing... and immediately regretted every life choice. That thing is fire in the mouth. Had to start over and make an entirely new sauce Proceed with caution. Big shoutout to Andy, our server last night -- super friendly, kind, and genuinely so sweet. Service like that always makes the experience even better. Hopefully we get him again next time when we're back in a few months for our next hot pot craving. Happy eats!
