The heat in SGV is no joke and definitely saps motivation to cook or be out, but I was looking for some cold noodles and came across A Ri Rang Tofu House. It's located along E Valley Blvd, in a small plaza with other businesses such as Melo Melo. You're lucky if you can find parking outside, but as it's summer and I wasn't trying to turn my car into an over, passed over that and parked in the underground part of the lot in the back. A Ri Rang is in the corner of the plaza opposite of Melo Melo. It's a decently sized space with a lot of tables, and friendly staff. It's a Korean Tofu house most similar to ones like BCD. It wasn't busy when we went around late afternoon (peak heat). I absolutely loved that as they sat us they provided a pitcher of what I think was iced barley tea. SO REFRESHING, and was much more satisfying than plain water. They had pitchers along the table near the back ready for customers. Loved that. The ladies serving and taking orders were nice and friendly. If you've never been A Ri Rang provide banchan (sides) similar to what you'd get at a KBBQ spot. No worries about eating it all, you can have it refilled. Each one hit as they were all cold side dishes from the crisp broccoli, to the cucumber and cabbage kimchi they were perfect. My bf and I ordered one Galbi and Naeng Myeon (cold noodles) combo, and a Bibim Naeng Myeon (spicy cold noodles). This hit so well, the Naeng Myeon was icy with ice chips through the broth keeping it cool. Topped with sliced daikon, cucumbers, half a boiled egg sprinkled with ground sesame seeds. And of course the chewy buckwheat noodle underneath, this dish was everything. The broth was light and tangy and savory. I added a little bit of the mustard and it added nice horse radishy note to the broth. The Bibim version was the same thing just with a spicy broth which was not extremely spicy but had a sweeter taste profile. The Galbi came on a bed of sliced onions on a sizzling plate. It was the perfect addition to share, charred crisp edges of meat, sweetly marinaded, it was delicious. I am definitely coming back in the cooler months to try their tofu soups. If you're looking for cold noodles in the SGV this place is a great choice!

Best banchan in the area!! This is one of the few places around SGV that offers so much variety in banchans and it tastes good and fresh. I ordered the bibim naegmyeon and it was very refreshing for a hot summer day. The service is quick and the servers are attentive. This is also a great place for large parties!

We arrived around 4:30 PM on Friday evening and there was a 20% off deal. The restaurant was very clean. Service was quick because within ordering five minutes later the food started to arrive. The dishes we ordered were Bulgogi, Chap Chae, and Rabokki. Everything was tasty. The beef was tender, the noodles have tons of flavor, and the spicy level of the Rabokki was on point. I like how this restaurant gives you a lot of Banchan and every single dish was delicious. This place has legit authentic Korean dishes. I love it!

Definitely some of the best Korean food I've had in a really long time! The soup was very flavorful and thick and just spicy enough. They also had a lot of side dishes, which is expected of Korean restaurants and they made sure to come by and ask if we wanted refills so we were not hunting them down. The pork cutlet was hands-down the best I have ever tried. It was not only thin, but the outside was so insanely crispy. I can't even describe it... you just have to try for yourself!

I give it three and a half stars. There is a variety of side dishes available, and you can order more after finishing; the potato is prepared to resemble ice cream. The food quality is average.

Still Our Favorite Tofu Spot -- Had to Bring the Family This Time! Of course we had to come back to our favorite tofu spot, and this time we brought the family for a belated Mother's Day dinner after raving about this place nonstop. Best part? We saw Shelly, our favorite girl that works here! She's always so sweet, kind, and welcoming every single time we visit. It honestly makes the experience even better when you're greeted by familiar friendly faces. We came around 7:30 PM and the wait was only about 10 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how popular this place gets. Service was quick, efficient, and the food kept coming out fast. Plenty of tables inside, so it never felt too cramped. This time around we ordered: * Jap Chae * Bulgogi with Beef & Seafood Tofu Combo * Spicy Pork w/ seafood & beef combo * Teriyaki Chicken w/ seafood & beef tofu * Bulgogi with All Seafood & Beef Tofu Combo And of course... the unlimited refills of the banchan are always one of the best parts. Honestly, sometimes I think I could make a full meal out of just those alone. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and exactly why we keep coming back every couple of months. I will say the prices have slowly been creeping up little by little each visit, but honestly, we still enjoy it every time. Still our go-to tofu spot and definitely one we'll continue bringing family and friends to. Happy eats!

One of my family's favorite spots for Korean tofu soup. This place gets packed, especially during weekend dinners, so plan accordingly. Service is just okay, but we're in the 626 -- expectations are different here. What really keeps us coming back is how good all of the banchans are. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful every time. I usually order the bulgogi combo or the spicy pork combo, and both are consistently delicious. The only thing missing for me is purple rice, which is always a nice bonus when a Korean spot offers it. Parking can also be a bit difficult, but they do have an underground parking lot which helps.

There's a lot of decent Korean tofu spots in the 626, but none with banchan quite like here. Favorites include the fish cake, kimchi cucumber, and sweet mashed potato. All the dishes here are quite decent as well, I liked the dumpling tofu soup, Bulgogi, chap chae is a bit on the peppery side. Service is fine, interior is nothing too fancy, but does the job. Parking may be hard to find so go underground probably. great for a hearty decent Korean meal!

A Ri Rang is one of my favorite restaurants! I absolutely love this place. The food is really good tasting. I normally get a combo which comes with a tofu soup and another entree. The thing that makes this place the best is the side dishes. The side dishes are so tasty and they are refillable. They don't limit me either! I can get as many side dishes as I want. They come by often and so fast! I tried the seafood pancake, and that was pretty delicious.

I've been visiting A Ri Rang for years, and it's still one of my go-to comfort food spots. One thing I really like is that there's usually no wait on weekday night and the banchan comes out right after you order. The food arrives quickly and is always sizzling hot. Ambiance is like a family restaurant vibes. I always order the mild seafood & beef tofu soup. For mild it has a slight kick, but it's not overly spicy, which I enjoy. My usual orders: Seafood and Beef Tofu Soup -- true comfort food Galbi BBQ Beef Rib -- always sizzling hot and full of flavor Fried Yellow Croaker -- perfectly deep-fried; just be careful of the bones if you're not used to it Bibimbap -- rice topped with assorted vegetables and beef Chap Chae -- stir-fried glass noodles with a nice balance of flavor For big party I will also order the seafood pancake to share. There's also plenty of underground parking.

First time visiting with friends. The food was fresh and came out hot and bubbly. The service was fast and the staff was able to get our dishes out quickly. It was clean and well organized. Something that the owners of the restaurant could not control was the parking. It is annoying, but we were able to go behind the building and park underneath. Overall, definitely would love to try this place again.

Have been coming here consistently for many years and every time, it seems to get better and better. My husband and I both love this Korean tofu house and it is always an option whenever we are going out to eat. It is one of our favorite restaurants for sure. One thing I love about this place is the sheer amount of banchan you get - a great variety with unlimited refills. I especially love the fish cake and chili cucumbers. Compared to other tofu houses, I think A Ri Rang has the best and most delicious banchan spread. My go-to order here is the dumpling tofu soup and bibimbap combo. The combos are a great value. You can't really go wrong with any tofu soup selection, as they are all served hot and fresh. I always get an egg cracked into the boiling soup. The tofu soup is very tasty and goes great alongside some white rice. The bibimbap here is also quite exceptional, with many ingredients that go into the mixture, but the standout ingredients are definitely the egg and the bulgogi. I love every part of the bibimbap. Even the vegetables are flavorful. The portion is huge as well. Staff here are always pleasant and quick. Of course, there are days when there are going to be a lot of customers, but eating here is certainly worth the wait. Overall, this is a wonderful restaurant. Having authentic tofu soup is perfect on any day. I've never been disappointed with this spot throughout the hundreds of times that I've visited. The amazing food combined with the speedy, friendly service puts them above any other tofu soup restaurant.

Despite what was on menu, we went on a Saturday and were able to order the combination meal: Bulgogi + Tofu Soup for $27.99. The portions were huge and we got to box some home. I got the bibimbap which was tasty! I got to add however much red sauce I wanted. The veggies were cooked well. I would give 5 stars but I took a star off because they didn't come by and refill our banchan (side dishes). They avoided eye contact the entire time. We finally got to ask them for more when they served the entrees to our table but that was the only time they refilled it. Service was quick and food arrived quickly. Parking was cramped. We had a full belly and that was worth it.

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. Overall: We love this place and we keep coming back with new people to share this type of noodle experience. Check them out im sure you will enjoy it. Lets just say we drove an hour to eat this. You def will not be disappointed :)

I liked the crunchy texture of the bread for the Chinese burger. It's on the spicier side. The braised beef noodle soup and sautéed vegetables were my favorite. The xiao long bao wasn't soupy but the dipping sauce they give is very good. Staff is very nice. There are quite a few tables for indoor seating.

I went with the tomato and sliced beef for $14.99. This came with bean sprouts, which I wasn't aware of, and there was a lot of bean sprouts inside - almost as much as there was rice noodle. Not a fan of bean sprouts but will eat if I need to, but in this case - it totally overwhelmed the dish. There also wasn't enough rice noodle for me. Everything else was good, but that kinda blew it for me. Also got the spicy soup with beef and tomatoes. This is more of a gentle burn in spice they slowly works its way up. It's good if you like spice. Restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but got a good amount of customers by the time we were leaving. Workers are friendly. Not sure if I'd be back though. Lots of street parking or a small lot to the side.

One of my favorite noodle spot in SGV area…read more My go to dish would be tomato sliced beef rice noodles- the tomato soup base is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The portion rice is very generous, I can never finish and would end up taking leftovers. Parking: they have a lot next to the restaurant, I never had an issue with finding a spot. The only downside is they don't have their AC on during the summer. I remember one time I was sweating while eating and it was very uncomfortable.
