This place always have a long waiting line. This place is my mom's favorite Korean place to eat in this area. We waited for an hour before getting a seat. After eating here, I agree the food is pretty delicious. No wonder why it's so packed and busy all the time. It's a bit pricey, but all Korean restaurant these days are all pricey. We got the seafood tofu soup, kalbi, and katsu. All was very flavorful and made well. My picky kid ate a lot of the kalbi and he barely eats meat. Probably because it's on the sweeter side, but nonetheless, the meat was good. Service was fine considering how busy they are. We will be back again.

This place has a small vegetarian friendly section. They actually use mushroom broth and they have vegetarian dumplings. Which is good for my aunt. I got the combo with galbi and tofu soup. When yoy vet the combo, the tofu soup is smaller which is good cause i cant finish a large one. I really liked their soy garlic chicken but wished it had large pieces of garlic in it. My favorite banchan would be the seaweed and cucumbers. Im glad they refill it for you. But fir some reason they would go around with the banchan cart and fill everyone else but ours. We always had to ask for it to be refilled. But we mightve been in a bad spot since it was the corner. I noticed they sell galbi tang now. Short rib soup. I havent tried it yet because i was craving the tofu and grilled galbi but i will try it next time.

I question if this location is under new ownership because the food is significantly better than I remembered, honestly on par with the Young Dong location in Chino Hills. It made me do a double take after not visiting for a while! A few things worth noting: - The entire staff is incredibly friendly and efficient, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. - Thoroughly enjoyed all the banchan. Take advantage of the complimentary refills! I liked the kimchi so much that I bought a large container to-go. I've been eating it daily ever since. It's on the sweeter side, not totally tart. Don't sleep on the raw squid either! - They've introduced two naengmyun options, one spicy and one non-spicy, just in time for summer. We tried the non-spicy version and my family enjoyed it. They use a chicken broth base and it was light, refreshing, and surprisingly addictive. - I love that they offer a beef and octopus soondubu (generous portion of octopus!). Most places only have a beef and seafood combination. Between the flavorful banchan, refreshing naengmyun, and attentive service, Young Dong Tofu has firmly worked its way back into my rotation.

There's always a wait here for dinner, so I recommend coming early. Hubs & I have become really big fans of their Curry Chicken / Pork Katsu. We didn't realize what a big portion this would be the first time we ordered it, but it's definitely shareable or you can do what we do: add a combo for extra food to take home for leftovers =P I do also wish they added more broth/water to their tofu soup because it always seems so dry after they bring it out. Their Beef Ribs area also good! Their banchans are good (some are a bit on the sweet side). Service is still quick and restaurant is clean. One unisex restroom in the back that's clean. Parking lot is still a doozy but this plaza is always really busy.

Not the same for take out, but still hits the spot. They make really good ban chan. Must try their curry chicken/pork katsu culture on the iron skillet - soo good. Their spicy squid is also underrated an a must try.

I'm not sure why I have not done a review for this restaurant because it's literally my FAVORITE go-to restaurant! My family has been coming here since the pandemic days when they had the tables outside and met a server named Valente. He's always been so amazing with us and his service as well as other staff here has been phenomenal. It's always nice coming over here for more than 5 years and seen this place get renovated and upgraded and we've loved it even more now! Happily Valente is still here to greet us with a smile and give us an amazing service like today when my sister and I came for lunch. The food is ALWAYS amazing! I love getting the hot stone bibimbap and their spicy tofu soup! The banchan is also so good that I literally ask for more all the time and they always come by and giving us more I've never had a bad experience here in the 5 plus years that I've been coming here. We can definitely say we're regulars We want to keep it that way. If you guys come here, you guys will enjoy the throwback Korean music that they also play. For OG kpop fans, you'll enjoy it hahah

This is probably the best option for tofu soup food in the sgv area. This place has the best selection of banchan with the plus of salted squid. The soup is great and three different kinds of rice to choose from. Purple, white and brown. This place has always been a staple for me whenever im craving korean food and dont want to deal with driving to LA. The service here is always really friendly. Plenty of seats and spacious table. It does have a bit of wait especially towards the nightime and towards closing so be weary if you plan on going an hour or half an hour before. Ive done takeout at this location as well and it tastes fine, you get banchan but not a lot but thats to be expected.

Great restaurant. The tofu soup is one of the best, kimchi is so good and the portion of bulgogi is HUGE. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. HAPPY TOFUING!!

banchan - dine in only. they don't have boxes for these if you don't finish them

I have been craving for simply grilled galbi. Didn't know how hard it could be to find it in a Korean restaurant. Young Dong Tofu is a spot i've been wanting to try. and glad their galbi is yummy! Food- we got the lunch combo with galbi and dumpling soup (3 pieces). loved! my toddler ate all the dumpling and finished her soup. Banchan options were all tasty. their kimchi is a bit sweet than tangy, i liked it. Service - great! attentive and prompt. it got busy but whenever we asked for something there was no long wait Ambiance- clean space. medium noise level. tables are well spaced out. i'd like to try their cold noodle next time

I haven't been to Young Dong Tofu House in a very long time. Back then I felt that the restaurant is dirty and the quality wasn't good. Ever since they did the renovation, I feel that the place is lively. I normally visit another tofu house but the other place's quality went down so I decided to try YDTH again. I order tofu soup with clams medium spicy. I liked how flavorful the soup was. I also added egg in the beginning. Side dishes are good but sadly no mashed potato. I liked that the staff came around with a cart to do refill on side dishes. Overall I think I'll stop by here again. Parking can be hard to find in this plaza.

Si many great things about this place and plaza. My favorite was the constant ban Chan refills which were delicious and frequent. The kimchi, seaweed, and bean sprouts were pretty good. We got the purple rice and bone soup which was very hearty and rich. I liked the glass noodles the most although the broth with rice was great too.

I don't often do Korean Tofu restaurants but when I do, I enjoy them :) I tried their rice with vegetables, and combination of bbq beef rib and tofu with pork tofu soup. Both very tasty and solid options! Parking can be annoying so be prepared for it and bring patience. It's shared with a grocery store and other businesses next to the restaurant. Service can be fast and friendly. Be prepare to wait but luckily I was sat quickly.

On this particular day, I was craving it immensely and decided to treat myself to a solo lunch. I came in around 2 p.m. just in time for the lunch special, and there were plenty of tables available, which made for a nice relaxed atmosphere. I went with my usual mix: the classic beef tofu soup and bulgogi lunch combo. I also love mixing the banchan into the white rice while alternating bites with the soup. They gave a nice variety of side dishes: kimchi, seaweed, bean sprouts, squid, and cucumber. The food was immaculate and exactly what I was craving. The soup came out piping hot and was super flavorful and hearty with a good amount of tofu and beef. The bulgogi paired perfectly with it and made the meal feel extra comforting and filling. Food coma hit hard. Service was quick, and the food came out in a timely manner. I have previously only been to the one in Arcadia, so this one is now the spot if I'm in the Temple City/San Gabriel area. I would definitely recommend!

Do they take big group reservations? I wanted to get an updated answer.

I'm not sure you might have to call the restaurant, there's no reservations online and in person is was a waiting list.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yeah they are!

Is the tofu still organic? Previous years they had listed their tofu as organic on their menu. I don't see it now on their menu.

Yes, still says organic tofu on their menu currently

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / April 8, 2023

No outdoor seating available now. 05/24

Does anyone know what brand the brown rice is?

    Do they take credit card?

Yes. When you say you want to use your credit card, they come over with a little machine where you can use your credit card.

Are they still serving pancake with the meal? All the latest reviews don't mention it.

No, they are not. I went for dinner about 2 weeks ago.

    Is there still outdoor dining?

My last visit was about a month ago and yeah! We were sitting outside

Do they still serve the pancakes and spicy squid salad as part of the banchan?

They serve the spicy cucumber, seaweed, kimchi, beansprouts, and spicy squid

How are they operating during Covid? Is it different?

Take put only. Ask for extra Banchan.

Did their hours change? It says 10:30 PM / 11 PM everywhere but no one picks up the phone. Do they have new business hours?

    Estás disponible

What kind of side dishes do they serve ? And is it unlimited?

They have kimchi, seaweed, steamed bean sprouts, spicy cucumber, and another dish that I think is squid. Yes, they are unlimited.

    Do they take amex?

    yes :)

A decent spot that my partner and I like whenever we're feeling some skewers vibes. I find myself to be a huge fan of their cucumber salad. Yes, even for a skewer place, they can be very delicious as a compliment to the savory skewers. It's nice to have that sweeter taste to offset the saltiness of all the other items. Interior is nice but can be quite hectic. Tons of tables that fit all sizes of groups, staff is quick but sometimes they do feel like they're understaffed. Service is not really a thing here, most like a food shop stand but interior. They clean tables, assign seating, bring you your food and that's basically it. Paying can be confusing but most of the time you can pay on your phone but it's recommended to pay where the register is, quick and easy. There's so many food options that you might find yourself scrolling for awhile. One feature I like is that their ordering system is easy. Scan a QR code and you can just order on your phone. Staff is moderately quick so that's a plus. If you're with a group, I recommend ordering on a designated phone to prevent any confusion or extra charges, etc. Skewers wise, my favorite goes to the beef, lamb, and the squid sticks. All are seasoned well but can be a bit salty. Most of the food here is spicy unless you ask for it so prepare for that. There's also a side/condiments bar that's filled with snacks that you can munch on while you're waiting for your food free of charge, however it's pretty filling. Overall, a decent spot that's great for a late night snack. Not the best but not the worse either when it comes to service. Food is great and even better for people who can handle spice well. Will definitely be back in the future.

Everything came out piping hot and packaged well for takeout. We only waited about 15min, which was not bad at all. We really liked the siu mai and chow fun. Both were savory and addicting. Siu mai were especially juicy and meaty; they definitely satisfied our dim sum cravings. Soup dumplings were ok - I found the wrapper to be doughy and the filling kinda plain. The black sesame roll had an interesting rolled look and a sticky, chewy, jelly-like texture. It tasted like lightly sweetened black sesame paste mixed into what seemed like a combination of mochi and agar. The small parking lot in the back is free. We got lucky finding a spot in the late morning, but when we were ready to back out after getting our food, cars were either circling the lot or waiting for someone to leave.

My brother got 0.91 so it was quite close, nonetheless, a little fun experience before you get seated. There's plenty of tables here and it's very spacious between you and the other diners in the restaurant. It can get a bit stuffy with all the smoke from the grill but other than that, very clean overall with plenty of staff walking around. Each staff is designated to a specific area and they're all pretty quick. They're friendly as well which is a nice gesture to see. With how busy it is, they're always on the move and they got some of our orders wrong along with missed orders which is understandable. All the meats that we've tried were so delicious, personal favorite goes to the bulgogi, beef belly, and brisket. All the cuts were very good and not too fatty which is the best part. The bonchon is great as well, plenty of options and most of them are what you usually see at standard Korean restaurants. Personal favorite goes to the fish cake, a bit spicy but very delicious overall. Besides the meat cuts, I love their kimchi fried rice, although it used to be bigger portions and come in a Korean lunch box, now it's just a small bowl, still tasty regardless. Also love their steamed egg, super puffy and very delicious, not too salty either. Overall, one of the best KBBQ spots not only in SGV but all of California/US/Worldwide. They have so much meat cuts, many non meat options as well, great staff, clean restaurant, and most of all, very delicious foods. The service was decent if you waived the staff down. We got all our orders in a timely manner. The vibe is kind of loud but enjoyable time with friends and family. Bring a shirt you don't care to smell as the cooking will stick onto your clothes.

The good: a very relaxed vibe, they take reservations, it's more fun to grill your own at the table…read more(vs Little Skewers where they bring it out already cooked), and service is fairly quick. The not so good: as you can imagine in a place with a bunch of fires at each table, it can get really hot in here. They don't have the best AC and while the multiple industrial fans are appreciated, the dead of summer is probably not the best time to eat here. That's generally the only downside though. In addition to the skewers, we got the spicy cucumber (good), quail eggs (good), the corn cheese (good). If you go before 6, it's pretty relaxed and not crowded.
