Great waffle but the service is rough. I thought it was a fluke but after three visits, even something simple, like getting syrup is difficult. i got the combo with the seasonal pumpkin french toast with sausage and scrambled eggs. the eggs and sausage were good but i feel like it's hard to mess up sausage and eggs. the french toast had good flavor but it was dry, i felt like no matter how much syrup i put it didn't seem to help. the coffee was also very mid and i had to add creamer which isn't a bad thing.. but i feel like if im paying for a good coffee i shouldn't have to put creamer in order to make it better. the place itself was cute and i liked the concept of the open kitchen. finally, the service was horrible! she took our order and everything was fine until i got all of my food but my friend only got half of it. from where i was sitting i could see our server talking to her coworkers instead of checking on my friends pancakes. im a server/bartender too and i understand when the kitchen messes up and its not always the servers fault. however after that, it was a good 10-15 minutes that we still hadn't received my friends pancakes and our server was no where to be found. when she finally came back she realized we didn't get our pancakes and apologized that the runner didn't bring it but seeing as it was slow and she clearly had time to talk to her coworkers and be in the back of the restaurant, she definitely had the time to check on one of her only tables food considering there was maybe four tables in the restaurant. after we got my friends pancakes, not only did she not check up on us once but we had to leave and my friend had to literally go to the entrance of the kitchen in order to get our checks because our server wasn't anywhere to be found on the floor. not only did she not say bye but she didn't wish us to have a good day or nothing, just silence. it's very concerning to see a grown woman probably in her 40's not care about her job/her income due to poor service. i was excited to try this place from seeing it on tiktok but i have no interest in returning again after a horrible experience read more

Server today had a hard time taking my order and I had to ask for things more than once. Not sure how pancakes are ordered and the server doesn't bring syrup. Didn't check on us at anytime during the meal and seemed to get an attitude when I asked for things she didn't bring. Some of their servers need more training. KeKe's has been a popular, welcomed to the up and company business along Highway 161 in Grand Prairie. The food is amazing! I seem to be having what I can only term as a "profiling" issue with certain of their staff. A few weeks I must have aggerated a "hostess" at the counter because they had me waiting 45 minutes for a table which was unnecessary. I sat there and saw others being seated. When I asked I was told they were trying to find me, a party of one a table! I finally got a table in the rear of the restaurant. The waitress assigned to that area provided to be the worst I have ever encountered I have ever had there. Firstly, she bought water and the apple juice both in a large glass. I said to her "Oh, no I wanted a small juice. Her response was that "you didn't say which." My thought was neither did you ask which I wanted. I waited and waited for my food and when I asked her about my order, she responded "You'll just have to wait!" I had it at that point and got up and spoke with an Asian gentleman who I believe to be a manager. I explained what had happened and suggested that they speak with the waitress because that type of treatment of a customer should not be tolerated. I then offered to pay my bill and left. Subsequently, each time I have gone back, it appears when there are other tables available, they only want to set in the back (with a few smirks). I have no desire to sit in the back because of that experience I had. I write this now because I was in the restaurant early on this past Sunday, there were many open tables, yet the "hostess" who I interacted during that 45 min. wait again took me to that same back area. What's going on KeKe's? Counsel your staff, please! Certain behavior toward a customer should not be tolerated. Keke's is a strange place. They have delicious, excellent pancakes. Maybe they were too cakey, but the taste was terrific. However, their "syrup" is just corn sugar syrup and has no taste. Their butter is whipped, and I think they extend the butter with oil of some sort, or perhaps it is oleomargarine. So, do I have to bring my own butter and maple syrup? I asked, and they had no other syrup. The hash browns are good, too, and they got "over easy" eggs right, which were correct with a runny yoke, but the pork sausage was flavorless. They serve on odd rectangular plates, which makes it challenging to manage. The square outside and round inside coffee cups make it difficult to drink without coffee dribbling, and I saw two other tables with the same issue. Service was slow, and they seemed disorganized. Stopped in for a quick brunch with our daughter before heading to the Bush Museum. KeKe's has a bit of an old school diner/restaurant feel with their boths. Colors are monotone, and basic. I ordered 2 buttermilk pancakes, scrambled with cheese, crispy bacon and a side of cheese grits. The grits needed more flavor, my eggs were scrambled but with no cheese, they had to make them again. What saved this review was the massive, ginormous, humungous pancakes. I mean in my daughter's blueberry pancake, there must have been 20+ blueberries. They were huge, I can't believe that anyone could eat the regular stack of three. Besides huge, they had great flavor and a very good texture. The food was good. My friend ordered the Belgian waffle and asked to have chocolate chips on top, and they barely even put like 10 pieces of chocolate chips. Went today to take my dad for breakfast. He will not go anywhere else except Dennys but my sister and I convinced him to try Keke's. The food was amazing and the waiter Boston was great despite how busy they were. The only issue is when we ordered a To Go Order. We do not live near by. We should have checked our order before we left. When we got home we realized we were missing the pancakes we ordered. My sister decided to drive the 15 minutes back to get the pancakes for my mother. They did remake the order fresh for us and promised everything was in the bag. Well, funny thing at this point, when we're taking the food out of the bag there is only one pancake instead of two. Lol. I called the manager and he apologized but that still didn't fix the issue and we're not driving back a third time. He could have offered a discount for our next visit or a refund. read more
