Chicken fried chicken
Perry F.

I'm tempted to give Kelly's country cooking 5 stars. However, there are some things they could improve. I think it would be difficult to achieve since they have am amazing price. Overall, I don't think you will fund better country food for cheaper in Houston. The breads mediocre, but it's free and still decent. Some of the food is slightly bland. It's still fresh and really good! They give you three sides with each entree. It's a good hot meal for a good price.

Service is kind of slow for a Friday afternoon. But good food and lots of it! Big portions so come hungry!

Monterey Chicken Benny

Was in town for a wedding and went to breakfast here. The staff was very welcoming. Our servers were very attentive and we were so surprised with the size of food. It's well worth the price. I had the Monterey Chicken Benny and really enjoyed the dish.

Eggs Benedict

Food was good. We were a party of 13 and had no problems being accommodated. Staff was very polite and attentive. Do accommodate handicapped. Did not notice any pets. One thing for sure, bring your appetite. They start you off with hot rolls and cornbread muffins. When ordering consider doing the small platters of food. The two egg omelette looked more like 4 eggs with a heaping help of hash browns. The chicken fried chicken and the chicken fried steaks we ordered were off the senior menu, which were smaller portions however the meat covered the plate. And it comes with three sides. The shrimp plate, plenty of butterflied shrimp and the eggs Benedict's, Wow they must have used extra large eggs.

The glasses had a film

Food with an edible. The shrimp was sour. There was an issue with the ice. I got tea at first thought it was the tea that had the taste got a Coke come to find out it was the ice it has a taste. Ice is not supposed to have flavor. My husband got the meatloaf and it was tasteless. This is not the same Kelly as a few years ago, never coming back again. And the drinking glasses were not clean.

Grand Slam Breakfast, Mama's Meatloaf and sides
Jason U.

First time at Kelley's and I decided to get the Monday special along with the grand slam. It was meh.... Big portion sizes but didn't equate to being good quality. The hash brown was mushy and had no crisp texture and was bland, the bread was bland and soft and the eggs were okay. The meatloaf was also a little bit bland and the country-fried steak was on the thinner side and also was decent at best. The best thing that actually tasted pretty good was the mac n cheese, I would recommend that for a side.

Big breakfast

The interior and decor is like Tex-Mex style, with fancy light fixtures. Their food arrives fresh and hot from the kitchen. The staff are kind and patient. Yes, Shuko's has a little bar inside and there's a Happy Hour special (I don't drink). There's a kids' menu too and they also serve breakfast. Their Shuko's (sandwiches) are a traditional and most iconic street food from Guatemala. These sandwiches are a must-try! Minor downside, refills on beverage (except water) costs extra. I'd love to come here again.

Still, the name Shuko had me curious, it's one of Guatemala's most iconic street foods, so I had to try it. For those who don't know, a traditional Guatemalan shuko is street food done right: grilled bun, steamed hot dog, Guatemalan-style guacamole (no onions or tomatoes), sauerkraut, mustard, ketchup, and mayo. Their take here is a bit different no guac on mine, but still packed with flavor. A mix of grilled meats, sauerkraut, and condiments all stuffed into a roll. Definitely not traditional, but still tasty. I also tried one of their pupusas, and it hit the spot. A classic revuelta melted cheese and chicharrón oozing out of a perfectly griddled corn masa pocket. Comfort food, plain and simple. Only downside The fries. They were undercooked, a little limp. Just needed a bit more time in the fryer. But overall, if you're into street food with a Central American twist, Shuko 502 is worth the stop.

Unfortunately, our experience was a complete miss. Parking here is awkward. There's not a proper lot, more of a driveway with grass nearby and people seem to haphazardly park with the idea that they'll be getting out in an exact order where they can just drive forward, over a curb, and exit. For those of us in smaller cars, that isn't really an option. The interior is well decorated to give an upscale feel. On a Saturday evening, they had a singer in a sequin dress and a beautiful voice that made it sound like you were listening to the kind of songs you'd hear on Sunny 99.1 or on Delilah's request show, but live. Right off the bat, we had issues with the drink orders. Items were missing, they were serving tea to people who ordered soda, sweet tea to people who ordered unsweet, etc. The worst was a drink from the bar that came out incorrectly THREE times. After the third time, the waiter offered to comp her something else. My friend took the waiter's offer and ordered a soft drink, but the bartender brought out the drink a fourth time anyway. When she got the bill, the soft drink was charged and the fourth take on the alcoholic beverage, which she never drank, was "comped" after she'd already told them she didn't want it anymore. The waiter dared defend what happened, which I felt was in poor taste since HE was the one who offered to get her something else at no charge. The entrees took forever to come out. We don't know what happened, but we were waiting almost an hour for the food. I was ready to get the hell out of there, and had it just been my wife and me, we probably would have. Unfortunately, we were in a bigger group and we all had long drives home, so we didn't want to be rude. The food was completely forgettable. I don't know of anyone who had anything good to say about what they got. My pork belly was decently seasoned and cooked through, but not quite well enough cooked to give the kind of sizzle and texture that made it worthwhile. The portions were also so small that I wasn't satisfied. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Instead of a whitefish or catfish, they served her fried salmon. The flavor and texture was... subpar... at best, and hardly the kind of thing you'd expect when ordering Fish & Chips in the south. Rather than wait another 30 minutes for a replacement entree, and probably get it wrong given how they were handling the drink orders, she powered it down and we mutually decided that we'd never bother to stop by this place ever again.

I want to review my meal. Their menu lists that the burger is on a brioche bun ... check that one off of the item list. A hearty patty is also placed inside of the bun and along with it are pickles, lettuce, onion and tomato. Check and double Check. Mayo is slathered on the buns, at just the right amounts that make it taste good, but not so much that it slides the innards of the burger all over the place making the chomping experience mushy. Flavors were good, I had just hoped the patty fit the bun a little better. The ratio was a bit more bun sided than oatty sided. My fries, crinkle cut, were seasoned well. Well enough that no ketchup was needed to dip them into for additional flavor. I would have liked a bit more crispiness from a double fry, but these were toothy enough to get a decent mouth feel. The meal for the three of is was about 47.00, so inflation has also hit my hometown dining places as bad as they have hit my current home near The Woodlands. Will i return to eat there the next time I visit Mom? If she wants to go, then yes, yes I would. I would also hit it alone just for their chicken fried steak or chicken. Ciao, Darrell

The workers were very kind as well, I made a change in my order nearly 5mins after I ordered and they were gracious in accommodating my request which I very much appreciated. We had: Strawberry cheesecake Açaí bowl - 10/10 - it was perfect in every way. Bits of cheesecake, granola, strawberries and a drizzle of honey. This bowl alone could feed two people and three wouldn't be a stretch. I also had a strawberry vanilla soda type drink that I wish I got a larger size of because it was so good. Think a float without the thickness, it was refreshing and unique. Caramel Pecan Dream - wow 10/10 - it was so RICH and the consistency was amazing. The little bits of pecans were the perfect contrast to the creaminess of the shake itself. Burger and sweet potatoes fries - 10/10 - they do classics well too, no real notes but it was delicious.
