I attend a conference that has been in York, PA for several years now. About 10 years or so ago I discovered Kelly's when I was looking to see if anywhere in York had Blue Crabs. We've been going each year ever since (except for the past 2 since the conference didn't happen in 2020 and I didn't attend in 2021). The crabs are always fabulous. You can get half dozens as well as dozens. The prices seem in line with what I would expect (it's market price.). I usually get the spinach salad with WARM bacon dressing that is always tasty. My friends are normally very pleased with their meals. There are two sides. The lounge side and the restaurant side. The place is dark, smoking in bar, Could have a makeover! I asked for 4 different kinds of drink. The waitress Couldn't make it. The drinks are reasonably priced. The menu is not large. Everyone seems to like their seafood. The price is $15-$24. I had a crab cake sandwich basket not bad. The tables need replaced. Our table had holes in the table that people dug out! The chairs are split and the place is dinghy and old but the waitress is friendly and the room is warm, except near the window. ;) We had the Maryland crab soup and the creamy Maryland crab soup. Neither were hot. The creamy one was bland and the other had just shreds of crab and more of a vegetable flavor. The Harvest Mill crackers were very good. Skip the stuffed potato. It was small and bland and lukewarm. The fries would have been better if they were served hot. The winner of the evening was the fish - hot and tasty! Kelly's is so close we may come back. Unfortunately, the two nights in a row that we went into this restaurant they had "run out of crabs". The second day we had called earlier in the day and they had medium and large crabs available but when we arrived we were told that they were sold out....again. It would have been nice from them to let us know on either of the days that a reservation for crabs was needed to actually eat crabs in a crab establishment. read more

Kelly's Inn offers a dining room (non-smoking) and a bar dining room (smoking) where you can eat fresh steamed crabs any night of the week. The have a full menu of many options, but the crabs are what they are famous for. They offer small, medium and large crabs at reasonable prices. I recommend calling ahead to make sure they are not sold out or booked solid, this place gets popular in the summer. They have raw oysters that are not only delicious but reasonably priced as well! This restaurant has an old time feel, it might look a little run-down in the eyes of some, but I consider it to have a rustic charm. read more

Kellys Inn has some of the best seafood in town, at the best price. Our only gripe is that occasionally they're understaffed (even before the pandemic). Still, Kellys Inn remains one of our favorite places for date night. I didn't see our favorite broiled oyster appetizer last time we dined there but hopefully it returns to the menu -- we used to order double helpings, they were so absolutely wonderful. read more

I have been a patron of Kelly's Inn for over 45 years and have always enjoyed the cream of crab soup, my favorite in fact. The crab cakes the last time I was there which was in 2017 were pretty good. My only problem is I now live in SW Florida and crave Kelly's cream of crab soup. I have called several times asking if they can over night me 3 quarts however I was told no by the woman answering the phone and giggled thinking maybe I was kidding? I said I was serious. She said if she did that the owner would fire her. Why? A lot of business's in Pa ship. Why not Kelly's? I'd had given a perfect 5 star except I was denied shipping. read more

Antiquated dining room, which I love! Very loud with large groups seated in the dining room. Friendly servers. No nonsense seafood; I had the crab stuffed shrimp and the Hubs had the crab cakes. Sides are not so great; I had the twice baked potato- all potato with no seasoning and a tiny sprinkle of cheese, and the broccoli minus the cheese sauce-probably should have had the cheese sauce? Spend your calories on the seafood. Sides are not worth it. read more

Well let me tell ya, the snow crab legs were especially good tonight. Very meaty and our server Tammy did a great job. We got our salads before our meal, we got our drinks right after we ordered them, we were given a bucket for our crab shells and melted butter. Tammy was pleasant and made me remember why I like it here. P.S. Ronnie had a lot of gristle in it but that's not the servers fault. They have two side - the restaurant side and the bar side. Staff was accommodating as we arrived prior to the dining room opening with a small child. They allowed us to sit in room while a private party finished. Large crabs were meaty and the seafood chowder was delicious. The draft beer was suspect as it tasted like the lines need to be cleaned so switched to bottles to finish the crabs read more

Such a disappointment. This review comes after 3 visits in order to ensure they were not just having a bad night. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay and enjoyed fresh steamed crabs growing up. Not many places to get crabs in York PA but tried Kelly's hoping for good crabs. The bad news is, the XL and Jumbo sizes are more like Mediums in Baltimore, but what is worse is that they reheat the crabs! This causes the meat to be dry and it sticks to the shells. Every leg I pulled did not reveal meat, that is how dry it was. The crabs also had a fishy taste and smell. I came here craving crabs, I left still craving crabs. The server good me they'd need an ocean in order to serve fresh steamed crabs which is absurd. Folks, it's worth the hour drive South to get good crabs. I'm sorry to say this has been a total disappointment all 3 visits. read more

Every time I pass through York, PA or have a customer in York, PA I stop in! The crabs were very good tonight, the extra large ones were great! This is not a fancy place, but who cares when the seafood is this good! The have chef specials that change almost daily. read more

Simple but good seafood restaurant. I had the broiled crab cakes, which were nothing fancy, but surprisingly delicious! The twice baked potato was good as well, something I've never had before. The decor is a but outdated, the seat to our booth was ripped and some spots of wear were showing on the ceiling and walls. Nothing terrible though, and not enough to make a difference in our experience. One thing that was bothersome was a strange taste in the fountain drinks. I'd reccomend avoiding sodas if you choose to eat here. read more

We've only gotten take-out from Kelly's but every time, it's been great! We usually get crab cake sandwiches or the platter. Thick meaty crab cakes every time! We've also ordered steamed crabs here several times. We get them with extra seasoning and they don't disappoint. Great flavor and usually the small or medium are a decent size. read more

My Medium Well Steak was under cooked on the inside and warm on the outside.The Baked potato was so cold the butter didn't even get soft. Atmosphere was poor and service was even worse.
