we have lived in Kenner for over 30 years and have eaten here at least twice a month , we were loyal customer until now! we ordered a simple shrimp Pepboy, plain with cocktail sauce on the side , and a catfish po- boy dressed . nothing crazy , well for the last three visits , they over cooked shrimp and catfish , and messed up a plain Po boy! how can you mess up a plain Po-boy . sorry it's just not the same , I can't put my finger on it ,but something has changed. sorry to say , you lost a loyal customer. read more

I have been coming here for years. Solid family-run seafood restaurant and market. If you want a plethora of seafood dishes to choose from you won't find any better than Kenner Seafood. They have every kind of seafood your heart can desire. The portions are big, the staff treats you like family, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid-back and casual. The serving sizes were huge especially for the appetizer. The food was pretty good! The gumbo had no shrimp or sausage in it but the flavor was good. Our fried fish and shrimp were light and delicious! Cole slaw, potato salad was very good. Let me say that we hope someone from the restaurant see's this, as we are loyal customers and have always enjoyed the food. Depending on the day, you might or might not get good service, but always get great food! Since the pandemic started and the dinning room opened, we have eaten inside for lunch and dinner. I worry about my moms health, however after being locked inside for months she insisted we go. Last night confirmed my fears, as I saw and took pictures of the waitress not wearing her mask correctly yet still brining our food to the table. It made us very uncomfortable, and we heard people at the other tables say something as well. Her mask was the correct kind, she was just to wearing it. In these COVID19 times, if you call ahead, go to the patio entrance to get your order. 2 people in at a time. If you are ordering at the restaurant only, go through the front entrance. The line looks long bc of the 2 in/2 out procedure. I called ahead and it was 18 minutes with the wait on a Saturday night. Go before 6pm if you can. Went here for an impromptu dinner with coworkers for one of their birthdays. NOTE: Your whole party must be present to be seated. We wanted to sit outside because the weather was gorgeous, but because there was a bunch of us, we sat inside. They have a small parking lot to the left of the building. A couple of people ordered the chargrilled oysters - it comes with standard fare - bread. They were good, the bread in the sauce was even better! Ha. I ordered the fried catfish plate - it was pretty good! Person next to me ordered the 5# crawfish boil - she said it was v. good. Others ordered salad, gumbo, burgers, and more crawfish. The place was packed for a weeknight, but I heard it is packed most nights. The food was good, the price was also good. FYI, it gets a little noisy sometimes. Our first night in New Orleans we ate at Kenner seafood. My wife had the grilled chicken plate with peas and frys(they were out of Cole slaw). She loved everything she ate. I had a half dozen of the char grilled oysters, the seafood platter(fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried catfish, stuffed crab), and this came with 2 sides(fries and potato salad). And since they were selling boilled crawfish for $3.99lb, I got 1 lb(to much food). I over ate and stuffed myself. But it was great eating. The seafood was fried great and seasoned which was a plus. The char grilled oysters were large and they gave you French bread to stop up the juice. And the crawfish were hot and spicy. You want to know how much we liked the restaurant? This is one of my go to places for seafood when I am in the New Orleans area - especially since I am typically staying west of New Orleans for work. This time around I went to pick up my wife's favorite - seafood - for our anniversary. We got boiled shrimp and gumbo. The shrimp was extremely good and yes, we ate way more than we should have. The gumbo was good as well. Overall, a great place to stop in for bite of seafood. I will also mention this was during crawfish season. There was a SIGNIFICANT line for crawfish, so I did not get any. For people to wait in line for that (the orders I heard were all 10-20-+++ lbs) - it must be delicious! read more

This one star is not in regards to the establishment itself and the food (I will leave another review for that). This specifically is in regards to some of the front staff. I sort of like the service and sort of don't, they're busy but never really friendly . But specifically the short lady at the front needs help and is rude and impatient , especially to African Americans &' the other lady with black hair and a ponytail is ALWAYS touching her nose or blowing her nose and never washes her hands . It's disgusting especially being around food and it's every single time , she hasn't missed a beat yet. I'm a server and I really value service and cleanliness especially in a restaurant . I don't know why I'm shocked, but the food was delicious here! We visited on a whim after a Sam's trip, and my husband and I both got a seafood pasta.
