    Clams in Black bean sauce

Love this little Chinese seafood restaurant in Chinatown! Friendly staff and the food is soooo good. If you're craving Chinese style seafood you have to try this place. We ordered clams in black bean sauce and the jumbo shrimp in ginger scallion sauce and both were phenomenal. The hot and sour soup was great too.

You want to authentic Chinese food in Philly....get down to Chinatown and Ken's. Open late and this place rocks! Just look at the pics and tell me these entrees don't look awesome. Yeah...they're all killer!

Okay guys... I'm back! I wanted to be apart of the controversy between Kens and David's salt and pepper shrimp. I've tried David's before and I was not impressed at all as the shrimp were soggy by the time I got home and the breading is a lot thicker, more of a tempura style as& P shrimp but I recently had the chance to try Kens S&P shrimp and babyyyyyyy they were spot on and exactly what I was looking for! I will say that the shrimp were soggy when I got home and didn't taste nearly as good as they did when they came out to the table but my vote is for Kens... Y'all can keep David's across the street lol

Honey walnut shrimp + salted fish fried rice

Food: I used to only come here for karaoke, but the regular dine in menu is absolutely fantastic. I come here maybe every other month, and I always leave satisfied. Last night some friends and I were craving honey walnut shrimp and salted fish fried rice and it did not disappoint. The honey walnut shrimp was plump and luscious. The salted fish fried rice was also delicious. The bits of salted shrimp and seafood elevate the fried rice drastically. This is always a must for me when I eat here. I am always surprised by the quality and consistency of the food here despite how large the menu selection is -- a true testament of cantonese mastery. They can take all my money honestly. Honey walnut shrimp: 5/5 Salted fish fried rice: 5/5 Service: The food comes out very quick and they open pretty late too which is nice after a night out. Ambience: Very no frills and what you would expect from a typical cantonese seafood joint. There's way too many fish in their fish tanks and there's always someone cutting heaps of green beans on the table.

*3.5/5 Only place around that was open for our late night post-concert cravings, and it was aight. Kinda tasted like food I could put together myself but it hit the spot in the moment. Pan-fried dumplings were nice and crispy, so special shout out there. They also give you tea to drink which is noice.

This review is ONLY for their chicken wings, beef chow fun, and stirred fried string beans past midnight. So Ken's seafood is one of the few places that opens past 12 in Chinatown. After being out, my friends introduced me to ken's seafood and ordered what I mentioned above. All three of those dishes was pretty good. Chicken wings, very crispy and juicy in the inside. Beef chow fun is huge portion with plenty of meat. I never had any of their other dishes so can't comment there. Also if other restaurants are open, ken's is generally not our go to but maybe we should check it out during normal hours.

Ken's is one of my favorite places for karaoke/BYO because the private rooms are decently spacious and the facilities are exactly what you'd expect from a Karaoke place. They have a decent selection of songs (Mandarin and English), and some are actually pretty recent. The food itself is actually surprisingly good. We had the broccoli and beef, (General Tso's?) chicken, fried rice, and some others. They were all very flavorful and what you'd get at a normal Chinese restaurant. That's actually a good thing, since I feel that some BYO places hinge on the fact that they're BYO and the food is lacking compared to a regular restaurant. In the end, I probably wouldn't come here if it wasn't a BYO - the atmosphere is pretty loud and karaoke like. However, if it's for a BYO, I'd definitely recommend here.

Everything here is excellent. Annoyed they open at 4pm and not noon but they stay open until 3am. By far the best authentic Chinese food!

My friends and I spontaneously walked in and was able to get a room right away for a really good…read moreprice. Service was great and the karaoke room was spacious BUT the sound quality was awful. We had the employees come to our room to help turn up the volume and she said a lot of songs do not go any higher and recommended searching for songs through YouTube. That did not always work. Fun spot in a great location, but sound quality does not work which defeats the purpose of karaoke. Bathrooms were also not clean at all :(

I was excited to check out this place while the promo rate of $25/hour was still going on. I forget…read morewhen it opened exactly, but I came with about 20 or so people for a friend's birthday and we sang for 2 hours, paying less than $3 per person! I'm not sure when the promo will end, so call ahead to check! I'll preface by saying I have been to a lot of the other karaoke places in Chinatown. The rooms were clean and the furniture was better quality than some other places. The TV screen is HUGE, which is a plus. Aside from the lounge seats there were also little Ottomans for people to sit on and move around, so we moved those out of the way when people were dancing in front of the TV. Keep in mind that if your room is as full as ours was it is hard to dance and sing while reading the lyrics on the screen unless you moved around haha. At one point in time we tried changing the A/C temperature, but unfortunately I don't think we could change it. The karaoke system is very similar to the Chinese system used at the other places, but I didn't like that we couldn't fast forward through long intros, turn up the mic volume, or even turn up the background music beyond 20 on the screen...maybe their system could do those things, but the employee wasn't able to show us lol (at other places employees gave a better orientation). Still, can't beat that promo price and I like that it's located on the 2nd floor of Chinatown Square!
