Came here for an early dinner on a weeknight, got the lobster roll flight, warm, for $40. Comes with a drink and bag of chips. Can be easy to miss if you're walking too quickly, you do have to descend a few Pros: - delicious, and great value in my opinion since lobster ain't cheap. - Fast service - Clean space with lots of tables to sit - they didn't charge us extra money to make it warm, which they do at other Luke's locations in Boston - didn't feel too hot inside Cons: - while the lobster was really good, it didn't taste as fresh as it does in Boston. But I don't think that's their fault haha I 10/10 would come back. Honestly a really refreshing meal in the philly heat

Root Beer, New England Clam Chowder, Shrimp Roll, Lobster Roll, and Crab roll. All palatable!

For my seafood roll lovers out here this place is the one!!! You can mix and match each mini roll of three, so shrimp on one, lobster on one, crab on one, or which ever combination you'd like! I personally got those specific 3 as well as well as a bowl of their New England creamy clam chowder and a bottled root beer! With saltines of course! They were all very filling and I think my favorite may have been the lobster you could just tell how fresh it was. Growing up in Cali, I love to travel because I'm very observant of how very kind employees, people, and anyone in general is in different parts of the country and the east coast in my opinion fits the description of SO nice, super cool, sweet, and chill! The vibe here is loud, but fun! Very casual but this crowd isn't gonna stare and your outfit up and down they like the employees are just there for good food, and a good time it's awesome and I cannot wait to go back!!! Love a good seafood roll oh be still my heart!

I think they're mediocre. I didn't like the cold shrimp roll at all. The lobster was ok, the crab roll was good. If I got back I would probably get the whole crab roll and see if they can toast it. I like my bisque on the thicker side but it was pretty good. It's definitely worth the try but I think it's a little overpriced. $44

We heard so many good things about Luke's lobster, from Yelp, from travelers and locals that we decided to swing by while we were cruising down the rittenhouse district. The service was really friendly, we were offered samples of their chowder which was pretty good. We got two flights of lobster rolls. Most of them were pretty decent, but there was one that stood out as being really great, the hot honey lobster roll was . We would definitely come back and just order that one!

Classic lobster roll with citrus butter on the side and chips

I had stopped in for the first time and ordered take out. The guy that rang me up was very nice and greeted me right away and gave me the rundown of the food/menu. It was just a few minute wait and I could tell my food was handled with care. He even asked and put the butter on the side so things traveled better. The space is casual and would be a great lunch or late night stop. I went with the classic lobster roll and it was delish! Nice and meaty and the citrus butter was a great touch! A bit pricey, but completely worth it for a real-deal lobster roll!

Came here while in town visiting family. Was looking for a good seafood spot and we found this one. I ordered everything to go but enjoyed it as soon as I got home. The crab roll was stuffed to the top with flavorful, seasoned, crab meat. The clam chowder was also flavorful and full of potatoes and clams.

10/10! Food, service, ambiance were all there! I walked over to Luke's from my hotel for a quick bite to eat. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, placed my order, and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. I walked back to my hotel and immediately dug in. I got the trio because I wanted to try each kind, although my craving was specifically for a lobster roll. My favorite was the lobster, followed by the crab as a close second. The shrimp I could do without in the future. It's definitely tasty, but the shrimp were really cold in comparison to the lobster and crab. I loved that they asked me if I wanted them to put the butter on the side so it wouldn't make the rolls soggy. I'll definitely be back! Excited to try more things on the menu!

Only one dinning on a Tuesday around 5pm. Chill vibe, music and clean spot. First timer. Ordered the $40 lobster rolls sample plate-a little pricey for three one-third size lobster rolls. Although the hoagies were toasted, lobster had 3 different toppings the lobster was cold and really lacked the lobster taste. I wouldn't come back. I was expecting a little bigger rolls, warm lobster and a little more for $40.**I left hungry** I picked this place based on the Yelp photos and amount of reviews. I should've done a better search. I'm already researching what I should eat next since I'm still hungry...

The food here was pretty good! The shrimp roll wasn't too fishy which is something I was worried about and it was very flavorful. The vibe was so quaint and it didn't even really feel like we were in Philly. The prices were pretty good too. We didn't try the lobster rolls this time, but I would definitely go back and give it a try if I get the chance because the others were so tasty. I like that they have a simple menu but if you have questions the staff was super friendly and willing to help!

    Crab Roll 6 oz
    Tammy T.

I was not impressed. I ordered the 6 oz Crab Roll. And for $27....I expected a delicious sandwich and a big portion. Although the crab meat seemed to be fresh... it lacked flavor. The sandwich was very dry, flavorless, and much smaller than I expected. I would have preferred a tuna hoagie from Wawa instead honestly. The Crab Roll was basically crab meat piled on a little hotdog roll. It would've help tremendously to add some type of sauce and maybe Old Bay seasoning. Unfortunately they only had hot sauce or popcorn butter to offer to take away the dry flavorlessness of the sandwich. I declined both.

    Abigail G.

Listen here, yes yes and yes. My first time here and when I come back to Philly again I WILL BE BACK HERE. These sandwiches are worth EVERY PENNY! I recommend the combo. Just go ahead and get the trio (crab, shrimp, lobster roll). Listen to me.....you won't be disappointed. Great job

Do you offer a gf bun option or a way to get lobster roll as a salad without the bun?

    They offer a gf bun.

I have been wanting to try Luke's lobster but I cant eat butter, milk, cream or cheese products. Do you add any of those to the lobster roll? Mayo is ok for me. Thank you!

Hi Carla! We don't use cheese in our lobster rolls but there is a lot of butter involved. All of our rolls are made to order so we can totally make one without butter!.

Great phone voice, by the way. We walked to the restaurant during the purported "heat dome" weekend. Fortunately, the air conditioning is pristine. We sat at the oyster bar and recommend you do so too. Our waiter was great. We should have caught his name but didn't. Either way, he was a real one. P spotted some absolute babe across the bar and asked our waiter what she was drinking. Important side note: attractive people dine here, but not in an intimidating way if you're a normie. Turns out it was a mocktail from the Zero Proof menu. We don't judge. Our waiter then turned us on to an OG move: order a mocktail and add booze. P got the Pink Drink and added vodka. J ordered a Bee's Knees and a Firing Squad. All above average. Anyway, we created an oyster flight and got two of each, working our way across the Eastern Seaboard. The house sauce was fantastic and incorporated some sort of onion and horseradish combination. We don't pretend to understand what that sorcery was, but keep doing it. Create your own GD oyster flight. You won't regret it. We also ordered some shrimp cocktail and shared the lobster roll sandwich. We forgot to take pics, but the generic photo attached is actually how it looks. Not a bad bite. This was the perfect amount of food for two hungover people who took IR Adderall before the walk. We lingered for a while and they don't push you out. Ended up ordering a couple IPAs. They started shucking oysters to prepare for the dinner crowd, which is neat to watch when you're on the spectrum like us. Also, the walls are covered in different oyster plates. We spent about 20 minutes discussing which one was our favorite. We landed on a green one. It's a real vibe lifter of a joint. Brought us back to life. 10/10.

We celebrated my birthday there and I was a bit shocked when they didn't offer to comp a dessert, since most steakhouses usually do, but I didn't mind as it's not expected. Our second visit didn't live up to our first time experience. The steak we ordered was so raw that it was inedible. Luckily, we got 2 big entrees so we were able to enjoy one and take the steak to go and cook it a bit more to enjoy for dinner the day after. This third visit REALLY threw us off. First, we waited over 30 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were seated in what is likely the most uncomfortable seat in the restaurant. You would think if you just made someone wait 30 minutes past their reservation, you'd maybe give them the bigger table that's available to get them back in your good graces. I will say most of the food was very good. We ordered the crab and artichoke appetizer which was good but not great, and for dinner we ordered the duck which was cooked perfectly and the ribeye which was also cooked well. I had mentioned it was my birthday at the beginning of the meal. Since I didn't receive anything with my last birthday experience, I had no expectations of a comped dessert. That was until the young lady at the table next to us received a comped baked Alaska for her birthday. When it was my turn for the waiter to offer a dessert we were asked if we wanted to order anything. We said no and asked for the check. When they brought us the check, they finally remembered we had been delayed half an hour and that's when they offered a comped dessert. Why is it that someone else got a free dessert for their birthday and not me? If you're going to offer that to one you should offer to all. Other than that, the service overall was very lacking. We were checked in on 3 times during the night whereas the table next to us received constant check ins. Not sure what that was about since we had the same waiter. We were also seated and ordered before the table next to us and they received everything before us. Appetizer, dinner, dessert and check. Not sure why this happened but after tonight's disappointing experience and overall food inconsistency I have decided not to dine here anymore. More for tonight's service than anything else. Disappointing and overhyped.

When talking to my kids about experiences vs objects for Christmas, my 7 year old requested a fancy restaurant for steak and lobster, just the two of us, and this was the perfect pick. Every one was so kind to him and made him feel special, I think every male staff member stopped at the table with a kind word for him and, upon hearing that he wants to be a chef someday, to say they can't wait to eat at his restaurant. I got the berries and bubbles cocktail for the dry ice spectacle, but it was also really delicious. The bread basket was really great, and our steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the real star was the sides and sauces. The asparagus with hollandaise was the winner for me, the hollendaise was silky and had a little kick at the end. The truffle mac and cheese was the other top pick, really amazing. Creme brulee was the perfect shared ending to the meal, it comes with a lot of berries on top, not the usual single strawberry, and the freshness was really needed with the rich creme. Overall I think I made a formative memory with my child and I'm grateful for the service, and the food was absolutely worth what we probably would have paid for two overpriced hot wheel toys.

A few days before the birth of our first child, one of my oldest friends came down from Brooklyn…read morefor what we understood would be my final properly indulgent night before parenthood. We have known each other since we were five, lived together in New York for six years, and stayed close through marriages, children, and jobs that occasionally made us question our sanity. He has seen me at my absolute best and worst, and he was also the person who helped me get fit and regain some discipline while we worked in finance and used excess to numb the misery of those jobs. Choosing Butcher & Singer gave the evening exactly the ceremonial weight it deserved. Steakhouses take on different meanings as you move through life. In your early twenties, an expense account dinner feels like the dream: free drinks and an extravagant meal while you are broke, eating ramen, and sitting at the bottom of the professional food chain. By your early thirties, after enough wining and dining in Midtown Manhattan, the ritual can feel exhausted, and another steakhouse dinner holds little appeal. In your early forties, with young children and fewer unstructured nights, catching up with a lifelong best friend over a great steak feels incredibly meaningful, partly because neither the dinner nor the friendship needs to become a weekly habit. That contrast was especially fitting because my friend is remarkably health-conscious and frugal despite being tremendously successful. He seldom strays from his disciplined diet, while I have historically been much more willing to wander toward fries, dessert, and whatever reckless topping appears on the menu. A traditional steakhouse lets both people leave satisfied: one can order a lean steak and vegetables, while the other can treat the table as permission to suspend judgment for two hours. We shared the same celebratory dinner, but our plates still reflected exactly who each of us had always been. Inside, Butcher & Singer delivers the classic steakhouse fantasy with extraordinary conviction. The soaring ceiling, monumental columns, and amber lighting give the dining room a glamorous scale, while the dark wood, painted murals, and small shaded lamps keep all that grandeur from becoming severe. This is where Stephen Starr's judgment becomes especially apparent, because both Butcher & Singer and nearby Barclay Prime depend on concepts that could age badly: one could become stuffy and antiquated, while the other could become glossy and artificial. Instead, Butcher & Singer still feels transportive, Barclay Prime remains contemporary and cool, and each succeeds because the design, service, and atmosphere are executed with total confidence. Our meal included what I believe was a Caesar salad, filet mignon, asparagus, fries, and a rich chocolate fudge cake. I added a blue cheese garnish to my steak, a completely unnecessary flourish that became the crown jewel on an already excellent piece of meat, while my friend kept his side of the table considerably cleaner. Parc creates a useful third point in Starr's small Rittenhouse constellation: its bar steak and burger offer a more casual form of red meat, somewhere between an ordinary dinner and the full ceremony of Butcher & Singer or Barclay Prime. I appreciate both, but a burger leaves me feeling heavier, while a properly cooked lean steak can feel filling and indulgent without ruining the rest of the night. Only one detail could have improved our experience. We sat at a small table near the host stand and the clock, which was comfortable and entirely reasonable for a table for two, but it left us slightly outside the dramatic center of the room. This was no one's fault, merely the kind of learned preference that comes from seeing the full room afterward and knowing where I would request to sit on a future visit. I hope to return when the budget allows, settle farther inside among the leather booths, glowing lamps, and sweep of the murals, and once again let Butcher & Singer make a rare night with an old friend feel worthy of savoring.

Every steak at the table was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive -- the mac and cheese, stuffed potato hash, broccolini, and mashed potatoes were all amazing. We also tried the cheesecake and lemon dessert, and both were outstanding. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. Easily one of the best steakhouse experiences we've had.
