The most beautiful 4th of July themed pastries I have ever seen! I am glad to see this coffee shop is now more upgraded, different name and people and different menu but still great sweet stuff. I just find it a bit slow, maybe short staffed and also a bit more clean too.

    Delicious Turkish eggs!!

The Turkish eggs were delicious with so much flavor and it was very filling. The pastries look amazing and the service was great! The place is super cute with the music vibing.

Oh my freakin' goodness! I had the Turkish eggs, and the flavor profile was insane! I was so sad when I finished it! I will definitely come back to try their other items!

Toasted bread with olive oil, Iced Latte, Shakshuka Verde.

The Shakshuka Verde was delicious! It is spicy in a subtle way. At first, seemed mild, but as I continued to eat it my mouth began to tickle. The toasted bread with olive oil was the perfect accompaniment. I wished I had one more slice of it as there was a lot of verde sauce with the perfectly poached eggs. As for service, it was good. You order at the counter and are given a number to place on your table and your food is brought out to you. The person taking the order was very polite and answered my questions without making me feel rushed, in spite of the line of people behind me. It has a casual atmosphere. They are dog friendly which is a plus for me. Looks like a great place to meet with friends for brunch or a latte with one of their delicious desserts. I took a Maple Pecan Scone home with me. It did not disappoint! Perfect texture and flavor. Not too sweet. Paired perfectly with the iced latte that I also took home !

Five Stars! Kettle On Coast has a uniquely flavorful menu. The flavors are insanely good, aromatic and complex. It's North African/Mediterranean. Don't compare it to the old restaurant that used to be there, it's its own thing. They do still have some of the "old favorites" (recipes from Petite M) in the front-facing pastry shelf like the famous "all day bun" I came with a friend recently and had a great experience. We ordered the French toast and the Shakshuka Verde, a decaf pour over and green tea. The shakshuka was absolutely delicious with a little heat on the finish but not too spicy. In fact, I think spice would overpower the flavor profile. 2 large pieces of thick bread come with the shakshuka and you essentially use the bread like a utensil. Eggs are poached to perfection. On the sweeter side, the French toast is thick cut and dusted with sugar, and comes with whipped butter and an amazing crème fraiche. Just outstanding! The pour over was okay, it's not my normal choice, so I think next time I will get an Americano or a latte. The pricing is higher than other local places, but you are paying for the elevated menu, so I think it is worth it. After brunch, it's just a short walk to the pier! Also good to know: they have some dog-friendly menu items! Love this.

Kettle on Coast opened about two weeks ago, and we decided to stop by on a whim. The previous spot, Petite Madeleine, focused on breakfast and offered some kid-friendly options. Kettle on Coast has shifted toward a brunch menu and even includes a dog menu, which I think is a fun and thoughtful addition. That said, there's still an opportunity to expand the kid-friendly offerings. They currently have pancakes and French toast, but adding a simple kids plate-- something like eggs, hash browns, and a side, would be a great fit especially given how many families are in the area, both local and visiting. They're still serving the same pastries from Petite Madeleine, which is a nice touch for returning customers. The interior has been refreshed with updated seating (the booths remain), new pendant lighting, and a more open layout that makes the space feel inviting. The coffee bar is now set up as a pickup area where they call your name when drinks are ready. Hours are currently around 7:00 a.m. to 2:00/2:30 p.m. Service-wise, I'm not sure if we visited on a short-staffed day, but everyone we interacted with was calm, friendly, and knowledgeable--especially when answering questions about the menu. One thing I noticed was that the person who took our order also brought out our food. Timing was a bit slow: it took about 20 minutes to receive my jasmine rice and closer to 40 minutes for the Turkish eggs. As for the food, the naan was more like a fluffy pancake with a slightly crisp exterior rather than traditional naan, so the description felt a bit off. The jasmine rice was delicious, but I needed a bigger bowl since some of my food started falling out of the bowl once I mixed it up. Overall, we're looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu, but will give it a couple weeks.

    Miso Cheddar Grits

Bro this place is out of this world. I knew it would be good but eating there was a whole nother level. Love that the plates are meant to be family style. Highlights of our meal was the Miso Cheddar Grits HANDS DOWN....with extremely close runner ups of the Jasmine Rice Bowl, Shakshuka Verde with the OLIVE OUL BREAD (amazing in itself). Coffee bar was amazing too. You can really tell the chef puts extreme TLC into his dishes. The depth of flavor and exciting combinations made this meal feel like an adventure. 10/10 recommend. Go. There. NOW

Matcha bread pudding & hazelnut latte

Newest up and coming gem of oside/north county!! The space is quaint and cute. It's pretty quiet on weekdays (which I love for me because it's the perfect wfh spot with Wi-Fi), and busy on weekends. I've loved everything I got so far & I've been three times already. I got their hazelnut latte, but pls don't sleep on the food menu. Their grits & their matcha bread pudding are PHENOMENAL. As a self-declared matcha snob, the bread pudding was a dream. The staff have all been very kind and generous as well. Please don't sleep on it!

Such a beautiful little spot in Oceanside, with amazing food and service! Turkish eggs were our favorite!

Maybe I need to clarify on the restroom? The walls, door jam and door sticky. The floor was 'mopped' yet it must not be done with a clean mop and a grease busting cleaner. You may also want to look at how the lower foot of the walls are dirty. These may be the 'extras' that are not on the restroom chore list you may want to add. I also noticed that you did not acknowledge that your cashier went straight from the till to making coffee.

This place is in such a great location right on Coast Hwy. I got the Jasmine rice bowl and it was delicious. A perfect savory breakfast. The space is big and bright with lots of seating. The coffee and tea sound delicious, so I'll be back.

Pastries from the same team behind Petitie Madeline

Five stars, easily. We always loved Kettle on Grand when we lived in Escondido, so we were thrilled to see this locally owned business expand into Oceanside, taking over the well-established Petite Madeline after the owner retired. We're especially glad to see those pastries still available for customers. Kettle on Coast nails the European-style counter service, with a gourmet menu that genuinely deserves a Michelin mention. The Turkish eggs are by far one of the most delicious preparations of the dish I've ever had. The oil, the crème, the bread served alongside it: absolutely flavorful and filling. It's a great spot to come with friends and order a bunch of share plates. The ambiance is comfortable, with a great soundtrack playing and staff and community filtering in throughout. And all of this when they've just barely opened. Fantastic job to the Kettle team. You've created a real establishment that adds genuine community space to Oceanside. The coffee deserves a mention too. It's obvious real care goes into the sourcing and roasting of their beans, which are never over-roasted. We can't wait to watch this place grow, and we're looking forward to some acoustic music and events down the line. Give them a try and support local, not big corporate buyouts of our community spaces.

We waited about 25 minutes on a holiday weekend and the food and service were well worth the wait. Our server knew the menu inside and out and made great suggestions. The Corned Beef Hash and Eggs is outstanding. You get an absolute ton of fantastic fresh corned beef, homestyle potatoes, and eggs. If you like corned beef, you simply must order this dish. You get a side with it and I ordered the excellent and very moist coffee cake. The Killer Burrito is monster-sized. It comes with ground beef, chilies, eggs, and other goodies. It is not a traditional breakfast burrito and I was a little nervous about the ground beef but as far as flavor goes, it was very good. The Greek omelet was not my personal favorite (and I didn't order it) but it came as delivered, with spinach, onions, feta cheese, and more. We tried this one with a potato pancake. The pancake is not a traditional one but it still had a lot of flavor. Personally, I preferred the homestyle potatoes. If it is appropriate for your meal, ask for the fresh salsas. They are fantastic. The hype is real. This is very good food and someone gave some real thought to these dishes. Maybe come at a slightly off dining hour to avoid or lessen the wait.

It's a great spot to meet up with friends or bring my mom when she arrives at the Oside train station from Grover Beach. It's a wonderful place to grab a flavored latte, seasonal drink, a glass of wine and a lunch bite, or all of the above! I also look forward to wandering through their gift area every time, where they stock unique jewelry, candles, fragrance rollerballs and 'clean' nail polish, plants and pots, kids' merchandise, t-shirts, and other cute stuff. I always buy something extra (and special) when I come. Their coffee bar is open, as is the general space, and there is plenty of seating outside in front and in back. You can watch the baristas make your drink and peep the beautiful Italian espresso machine and lovely bouquet of dried flowers by the bar while doing so. They bring their food out to you and when your espresso drink is ready they set it on the bar for you to pick up. Definitely a place to hang vs. grabbing a quick drink and rushing off about your day. I always want to stay and catch up with friends or bring my laptop to do some work, and they never make me feel rushed. Truly one of my favorite coffee shops in North County and in SD in general. (There is another high quality coffee shop in Oceanside that has incredible coffee and pastries--I won't mention the name--but I sometimes sense an attitude from the staff there, and that is a bit of a turnoff.)
