Best cookies I ever had! I see everyone giving cake compliments but I tell you we try a few yesterday and they were best cookies I ever had! Ran a half marathon today very happy. As soon I get back will definitely visit again. Continue to make delicious cookies. We are grateful for you!
My husband ordered me a cake to celebrate me reaching my goal of 6 months breastfeeding and they nailed the design i had in mind!! The service was great, AND the cake, frosting, and filling were exactly what I was looking for; plus it tastes so amazing! Will 110% be ordering all of my future fun celebration cakes from these guys, I highly recommend you do too!!

Key West Cakes are amazing! Recommend 100 times over. Stephen at the bakery was incredible from the first day of ordering the cake. The cake was delivered in perfect condition to the reception restaurant and its presentation exceeding the bride and grooms expectation. The flavor?! Amazing! The piña colada was refreshing and the cake was so fluffy! Highly recommend Key West Cakes to anyone looking for a cake for a wedding, birthday or just because.
The guava cupcake was so good, the oreo one too. I love that the filling is abundant. These were delivered for my birthday and I think it was a walk in and walk out affair.
We ordered an 8 inch cake via email for our daughter's small wedding. Steve was responsive in answering questions and when we arrived we gave Steve the cake topper we brought and paid the $100, which included delivery to Sunset Key. The cake was delivered on time with the topper. The cake was delicious! The only nit was that we ordered German chocolate filling with the funfetti cake with buttercream frosting. The cake that we got did not have any chocolate in it. When I followed up with Steve later he replied they don't usually put chocolate filling in a cake unless the cake itself is chocolate with chocolate buttercream frosting. It was still quite yummy! The funfetti had some type of praline or nut, it really was yummy.
Whatever you do try this place out they're cupcakes are seriously good. We had the Mango and keylime cupcake, mango was all throughout the middle of the it. The keylime cupcake and pie were oh so good with just enough lime without being over bearing. I also like the fact that cupcakes were soft and moist and huge. Their are also a bunch of cookies to choose from also. Very good customer service. Definitely a must try.
We went to Key West to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday this past week on 8/21. Mind you, ten of us flew from L.A. and flew/drive down and also visited relatives in Fort Lauderdale. So I completely forgot to order a birthday cake! As we were driving on the way to Key West, I found Key West Cakes via Yelp and saw a beautiful turquoise, sea shell themed cake. I decided to call them. The lady (I forgot her name) helped me decide to get exactly what I envisioned by asking me what my daughter's favorite color is (pink) and flavor (white cake with strawberries). I told her I liked that sea shell theme. She suggested an ombre cake frosting from white to light pink to dark pink with that theme. A white cake with strawberries & cream will be extra but will be perfect. So I ordered it and I wanted edible sea shells. She offered to put glitter on it and deliver it to the restaurant I chose for the birthday dinner for extra $10 charge. However, I had to ask the restaurant if this was okay with them and confirm the time. So I had to call her back. No problem for the restaurant and I selected Duffy's Seafood and Steakhouse as it seemed to be a Key West institution from the reviews! Needless to say, that $80 cake was worth every penny! It was delicious with just the right amount of sugar in the icing, creamy strawberries (in little bits) and moist white cake. The sea shells were made of white chocolate! My daughter (and the rest of us) loved that cake so much!! We were still eating it a couple of days later! The next day, I personally went to their bakery and thanked all of them for the excellent cake and promised to write a 5-star review!! They also had cupcakes in the display case and I had to fight the impulse to purchase one! Lol. Go here for special cakes for special occasions!!!
The cupcakes here are incredible. The chocolate cupcake was a delicious light cupcake with a light, airy chocolate frosting. The Key Lime cupcake had a light citrus taste with an extra kick of key lime in the frosting. Super pleased with the lavender flower decorated cupcake which had a subtle lavender flavor-just right. Also have to give high marks to their key lime pie! After trying several around town, I wished I had tried their sooner- would have had it more often!! My husband and I tried many more items while we stayed nearby for our month on Key West and we were not disappointed with any of it. Carrot cake, cookies, more cupcakes... A shout out to owners Steven and Paul for being so gracious and inviting despite me taking so long to make my choices sometimes!! And thank you, Paul, for the history on the house we stayed in!

Key West Cakes was so fun to work with for our wedding cake!! We had a blast during our tasting (their shop set up is really cute!) and then loved the ease of working with them over email to finalize the details. We got a beautiful, three-tiered wedding cake made of coconut cake and coconut buttercream. They also prepared an insanely delicious small vegan cake for my two little cousins with allergies. The most important thing though is that the cake was SO.GOOD. Like - oh my god. There wasn't any left over at the end of the wedding!! My husband and I literally drove by on our way out of the Keys after our wedding to grab some cupcakes in the same flavor as our wedding cake. I can't wait to stop by the next time we're in the Keys. Thank you so much!!!
I stopped at this bake shop while walking down White St. and was pleasantly surprised at how good the baked goods were. As I entered the shop, I noticed that it was in a bit of disarray due to a pending move. That didn't take away from how good the pastries looked. I got a slice of carrot cake and a key lime pie slice. I got both thinking I wouldn't be able to finish them but I was wrong! The pastries were rich and flavorful without being overly sweet. Cake icing usually tends to be too sugary for me but the icing on the carrot cake was good and not overpowering. I am a fan of key lime pie and this was made perfectly in my opinion. I absolutely recommend stopping at this bakery for a quality sweet treat! read more
This place is the best cake place in the keys and highly sought after. My husband found this place and ordered a cake for my 40th birthday. Wow was I impressed. They even delivered it to the restaurant for us. They did an amazing job incorporating my 2 loves - ghosts and scuba diving! Not to mention they made the most delicious and moist chocolate fudge cake. To die for! read more

I saw the great reviews on Yelp and contacted Key West Cakes. After speaking & emailing Steven he was able to bake a cake that was delicious and exactly what I envisioned!! Best cupcakes we have ever had!! These were already great looking cupcakes as we window shopped walking by. Once we got some and bit into them we realized how much better they were then we expected!! All were cream or fudge filled. I got the mint and not only was the frosting mint but the cupcake it self tasted hints of mint. We also tried the cherry bomb and the maple walnut. All were so fresh tasted so light and fluffy. This place is so good cannot wait to return. read more

I'm glad I came across this place again. A few years back Steven made a personalized cake for my partners' birthday. She's always loved to travel & has done a good amount of it. Delicious sweet goodness. When visiting Key West, one must go eat some yummy cupcakes, brownies, etc at Key West Cakes. They have many yummy treats to choose from. My favorite are their cupcakes, the size is bigger than most places, and the taste is huge in a delicious manner just like the size of the cupcake. The employees/owners are very welcoming and package everything very nicely. I remember at my last visit, I didn't want to eat the cupcakes right then. They packaged and boxed everything very efficiently that even 6 hours later everything tasted very fresh and yummy. They create beautiful cakes for every special occasion as well in their storefront. So, if you are thinking of a party or destination wedding in Key West, I would definitely recommend checking this sweet place out. read more
I told my family that my visit to Key West would not be complete if I didn't get a chance to taste a slice of Key Lime Cake or Cupcake during my visit, and as for my last stop before leaving, I got it. I stopped into Key West Cakes and was greatly warmly by the staff and immediately went you want into this spot you can smell what baking. I told them it smells like you are stepping into your Mom's or Grandma's kitchen on Christmas eve or Thanksgiving eve night when she is baking desserts. The comfort of the smell quickly makes you feel all the sweetness and deliciousness around you. I got my cupcake and it was amazing. You will not be disappointed, and everyone there is very nice and welcoming to visitors and tourists. read more

We came Key West Cakes and purchased 1 cupcake (a vanilla with chocolate ganache) and it was delicious! A few hours later we decided to come back and get 3 more cupcakes...an all vanilla, raspberry and maple crunch and they were all delicious. Great service and excellent cupcake selection! We would absolutely go back, but we are visiting from Asheville, North Carolina! If we come back we will definitely be stopping by here again! read more

Chose this as the place to do my 21st birthday cake. My mom and I supplied the company with a picture of the cake exactly how we wanted it to look and they told us they were able to do it (minus the fresh flowers which was completely ok with us). However, when we received the cake the colors were completely wrong and the cake itself looked nothing like what we had asked for. Additionally, we were overcharged what we were quoted and after reaching out to the company about all of this, they have since blown it off and made it seem like the cake was completely fine. They also have not offered to refund what we were overcharged. All that has been said was "was the cake not delicious?" NOT at all the point and honestly not even that great of a taste. I was looking to have a very cute cake for a special birthday and instead was left extremely upset with how it turned out, especially after reading so many great reviews. To top everything off, the staff was very rude and unwelcoming to my family when picking up the cake (before we even saw what it looked like!) If the bakery had thought this was going to be too difficult to achieve, that is all that would have needed to have been said and we would have found somewhere else to make it. Instead, we were left extremely dissatisfied and upset with what we got. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone in the future. I attached the picture of what was sent to the company (the white cake with green and pale pink accents with pearls all around it) versus what we got (an all green cake with bright pink and Kelly green accents). read more

Veggie pot pie - take out reheat-able feast Get your veggies in! Heavenly goodness strikes again. 300° at 35 minutes. So said my husband when he scootered it home. It needed and extra 15 or so, but all ovens and taste to temp vary, so keep an eye on it. Baking results: - dove into the middle of course to get a feel for the taste and temp. At 35 minutes it needed more time. Shoved it back in for another 10. - next taste I dug into the crust. Wonderful! Light, flakey and flavorful. From the online photos I thought it would be the dense, hard, break off and toss out type of crust. NOT! I still thought the temp could be higher so I threw it back in for another 5. I like my food piping hot. - try 3... nailed it! Overview: - Crust: light and flakey - Veggie Stuffing: Carrots, green beans, mushrooms, celery. (Most likely varies.) - Binding: Tasted like and had the texture of Thanksgiving stuffing. Much more dense than your typical pot pie. Inside was not loose and creamy, but a thicker consistency much like bird stuffing. - Flavor: On point. Needed no additional enhancements of any kind. - Size: about 6" in diameter - Serving: I think two women can split this with a small side salad. - Price for value: A bit rich for my husband @ $9.25/ea., but since this is our first try, I will get back with you. - End result: Don't let your eyes deceive you. I tried and tried and couldn't finish it. Definitely a two person feast. Can't wait until tomorrow to try the chicken! Would I get this again? In a heart beat. Side Bar: Picked up a chocolate mint and red velvet cupcake for dinner over the weekend. A-MAZ-ING! My friend and I hovered the chocolate mint, and my husband took no prisoners with the red velvet. It was a fight to the finish. A redo is required. read more
Was craving something sweet after spending most of the morning sightseeing. I had seen many great reviews for this place. We were not disappointed. Key West Cakes first opened in 2001 and has been awarded the "Best in Weddings" by the Knot in 2010 & 2012. I had to try their Key Lime Pie which was delicious and not too sweet. After my wife explained to the owner Paul that she could handle anything too sweet he recommended the strawberry and cream cupcake. It was chocolate/strawberry cake filled with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Just perfect according to my wife. Noticed on the menu that they actually have a small savory takeout menu for dinner. One of the items that caught my eye was the chicken pot pie. It is so popular that they make about 40 pies on Tuesday and they are sold out in 2 hours. I find that impressive. It is off the beaten path of the madness that is Duval Street but definitely worth a look if you are in the area. Bonus, there is parking lot out front which is very rare for most businesses in the area. read more

Owner and staff were so helpful and appreciative of my order. I wanted to give my wife a wonderful birthday cake and she enjoys yellow cake and chocolate icing. They made a basic birthday cake into a delicious, moist cake and she was so excited with the decoration and the taste of the cake. She said this was the best birthday cake she has ever had! I would definitely recommend Key West cakes to anyone in the area looking for a delicious cake. Thank you and we will definitely be back next time we are in town! Ken read more
