We made online appointment for car service on saturday (after thanksgiving), and they returned us saying that manager is sick and no other replacements are available. We drove there for 30 min and made appointments 3 weeks early. They had plenty of time that if they could not handle the appointment. At least, they should have called us or email us in advance on the day. It is total waste of our time, and they didnot even apologize. Wonderful experience with the service department. The person who assisted me (Jordan) was nice, listened to my concerns, super polite, and didn't make me feel like a moron :) They had great measures in place for COVID safety (everyone wore a mask and was social distancing) and all staff I encountered said hello. They got back to me quickly via text regarding the issues with my car, and fixed it within the promised timeline. It actually cost less than I expected. If I ever buy a new car, I'd absolutely buy it from here since I completely trust their service department to do trustworthy work in a reasonable time frame, with great customer service. Buying a car is Stressful no matter where you go, but when high pressure sales tactics are part of the culture at a dealership, it feels like pulling teeth to get them to stick to a price. My wife and I just bought a used Santa Fe here, and we did end up getting a pretty good deal, but not without having to really hold their feet to the fire on their own advertised price. We found the car we wanted online. It's a 2016 Santa Fe, used, with 46,XXX miles on it. They had it listed on their website for $13988. I called and talked to a salesman named Miles, who seemed like a nice guy. He confirmed that it was there and that it indeed was listed online for the aforementioned price. I asked him if they would honor that price when I got there or if it would suddenly jump up. He assured me that they would honor their printed price and I told him that I recognize it as a good deal and wasn't planning on trying to get them down below that. Fair enough right? So my wife and I drive an hour out to Van Nuys to look at this car, and it is as they advertised, so we were stoked and were sold on it, provided they would honor their printed price. Then Miles turned us over to Miguel, the used car sales manager, and then the shenanigans ensued. He brings out a Kelley blue book print out, stating that $18.5k is a fair price, and that their initial offer is that plus license and fees which was around $20k! What. The. Actual. F?! I laughed at him and said there was no way I was going to pay that. Then began the cat and mouse game of him going to "talk to the general manager" to see if they could come down on the price. To make a long story boring, this went on for what felt like an hour. We went back and forth at least 3 or 4 times until we were ready to walk. I told him that this whole thing felt really sleazy since they were the ones who posted the car online at that price and suddenly didn't want to sell it for that. I told him I would not go over $16k out the door, and that at that price, I was still overpaying by almost $300. It should have been around $15775. Finally, he went back once again to "talk to the GM," (who knows what that means anyway) and wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, they sold me the car for 16k. GOOD GOD! WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS! Seriously. This is why people hate car dealerships. I would have given 1 star, but we did get a really good deal on this car. It was just such a stereotypical car dealership experience that I was pretty dissapointed. If everything had gone as smoothly as Miles made it sound over the phone, this would have been a 5 star review. Keyes Hyundai, if you are reading this, my main request would be that you don't print prices that you don't plan to honor in the first place. There's a psychological phenomenon called "reference anchoring bias". In a nutshell, people will tend to rely most heavily on the first piece of information they see on a given subject. In this case, it's a price for a particular vehicle. You can't then after that reference has been set, introduce a new reference point and expect it to be taken seriously. Not to mention that it is straight up deceptive to print prices that you don't really plan to honor. read more

Tried to get a car for my girlfriend and her baby. I worked in the car business for half a minute so I got to know if people worked hard or not to make a deal happen. These guys Def didn't want to work. I asked for pricing several times and never got a price. I also mentioned that a dealership down the street had the car I wanted at a lower price. Instead of trying to work a deal on getting that car over (I tried to give her a chance.. Name was Ruby), she told me that the dealership (sage Hyundai) routinely lies about having vehicles they don't have. I verified they did have the vehicle. It's sad and it goes to show you why people in the car industry get a bad wrap. Wouldn't trust anything these people tell ya Immediately after leaving this review, I've been bombarded from hundreds of phone calls asking for every different name in the book from other car dealerships saying I've inquired about everything from Hondas to Lexus. Not saying they did this... But it's kinda fishy. I only went to this dealership and asked about one type of car online. The appointment website didn't know enough about my car, a Nexo. It tried to schedule an oil change for a car without oil. Service was quick, felt safe in the waiting room. I was looking for an Ioniq 5 which are hard to come by right now. I called the Keyes deanship and spoke with Johnathan, who was very informative on the perks of the car and which model might be right for me, as I wanted a longer range. he able to look and see that one was due to arrive soon in the color I wanted. kind of amazing since other dealerships weren't as helpful and the one closest to my house was borderline rude, and refused to give me a price over the phone. I had never done a pre-contract before and wouldn't do it again unless I had to, as you don't get any deals you might get with a car sitting around the lot. but I wanted an electric car asap and I got one. Johnathan gave my husband and I a lesson in driving our new car, and made sure we felt confident in driving off the lot. Levon in financing was very helpful as well, letting us know of rebates we could apply for and showing me extended warranty options that I think were a great deal. all in all happy with Hyundai and especially with everyone I encountered at the Keyes branch read more

I've tried twice to lease from this dealership. Both times I've left feeling like I've offended them for trying to negotiate a better deal. I've been leasing cars since 2006, I know my crap by now and I come in with my homework done. As soon as they see that, a switch happens with the people at Keyes Hyundai. My person of contact got up to signal he was done negotiating (they had only brought me one offer). He texted me later with a better offer and when I tried to negotiate further to MATCH a lease for the exact same car with the same MSRP in the same state, which someone on leasehackr posted, he replied that nope, he's done trying. No "I'm sorry we could accommodate you" or "I hope you think of us in the future" etc. The first time I went to them, I ended up leasing from Nissani Bros instead. They were way more helpful and friendly. Today (Nissani didn't have the car I wanted) I gave them a second chance but after leaving Keyes, I am actually going all the way to Anaheim to Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Anaheim (they sent me an Uber!) to get the car I wanted for the deal I wanted instead. Bottom line: I don't hold grudges for their unwillingness to negotiate, they're losing my business and I'm getting what I want. But the atmosphere is not friendly or professional at all. It's very outdated and, to me, it seems focused on preying on newbie lessees or less knowledgeable ones. I recommend coming here only as a last resort or if you truly dislike feeling valued as a customer. read more

I was mid car search mode. Had been burned by 2 or 3 dealers already and not enjoying the whole thing. This would be my first car. I had outside financing secured. Just wanted to find the right deal on the right car for me. I found one online and it was at this Keyes. I inquired online and within the hour had a text and email from Robert their "online rep". we chatted back-and-forth for a day or two, he told me he could show me the car I went in he didn't pressure me at all. I let him know from the beginning that,if it was with the car I wanted I would get it. And that's exactly what I did. Unfortunately he brought out some other guy at some point you know the math guy and this guy was sorta a car sales man type and rubbed me the wrong way. But we still came to an understanding and negotiated the price needed to put me behind the wheel. After I took he car to my garage for a Full Inspection and the car passed with flying colors!!! Do Not buy a Hyundai you are treated like crap. My car is 2.5 years old and a bunch of lights went on. I'll have to pay over 200 bucks if not under warranty. It should be. No one was here but they didn't check me in for 20 minutes. It took 4 people to open a car where someone locked themselves out. Rather than help me. I'm 15 miles from home. So today, I found out, after driving about 40 minutes in the morning to Keyes Hyundai after having scheduled for a service two weeks prior, they told me they couldn't service my car. They told me that the advisor who was supposed to look at my car was out sick and other advisors were either over-scheduled, out sick, or on vacation. They told me their schedule was all backed up for the day. They turned me away and told me to reschedule. No discount, no referral. Nothing. Let me also note that I could've saved a lot of time had they told me or contacted me prior before I got there. Other places usually even text me to confirm the schedule--apparently, not here. I thought about rescheduling (all of 2 seconds), then decided...well, at least I have yet another reason not to bother with Keyes ever again other than the 40 minute drive. Their poor service is what will keep local businesses going, so I suppose they're doing that for the world. We appreciate your contribution and helping us save some money. Wow just had a great experience here! And that is a weird thing to say about an oil change. But when I came in it was crazy, incredibly busy. And I really admire how professional and courteous they were under this kind of pressure. I worked with Ani who despite being very busy made sure that I was taken care of in the time that I was quoted. I arrived on time for my oil change and remained in my car as instructed while making the appointment. After about five minutes I asked if I was supposed to wait in my car or go inside. An annoyed worker told me that I just needed to wait and someone would be with me. After waiting another 15 minutes someone finally came to help me.... then another person. Finally, they took my car. Two hours later, I got my car back... terrible service, annoyed employees, COMPLETELY inaccurate estimation of time. Then waited another 20 minutes to get a quote. By the way my advisor Jordan never showed up. And I got my car after oil change at 4:40 pm. Amazing! 2 hours to change oil. Almost 3 hours in the dealership! Have seen how people with no appointments showed up and got help before me. So a question to Hyundai - why do I even need this appointment? ATTENTION CAR BUYERS AND LAWYERS WHO LIKE CLASS-ACTION LAWSUITS... This updated review is for you! I am currently in debt collections for a $100+ tollway fine THAT ISN'T MINE, because Keyes Hyundai places a higher value on quick profit at the auction than they do on worrying about what may happen to their customers. CLIFF NOTES: - I purchased a car from Keyes on January 15th 2016, which included my trade-in vehicle. - Keyes sells my trade-in at the auction shortly after. - New owner runs through tollways without paying. - I receive a letter from a Debt Collection Company explaining how I'm liable for these toll violations and all fees and fines included. AND THE ENTIRE ORDEAL.... So I immediately visit Keyes Hyundai in person. Turns out, I got fined for not paying these tolls because, according to their Finance Director, Lucine Martirosian- the California DMV is "slow to process title transfers". Lucine then proceeded to tell me, nonchalantly, that "this happens alot." Excuse me? Come again? I had to look around to make sure I wasn't on a reality tv prank show when she said that. I pointed out how horrible of a business practice this is. Lucine just ADMITTED to me that Keyes Hyundai KNOWS this happens frequently, yet they continue to sell your trade-in at the auction as fast as they can, without being sure that your title has been officially processed by the DMV correctly; leaving you completely vulnerable to costly situations like this. You know what her response was when I told her that's not what a good business would do? "It's not just here. This is an industry-wide problem." Ohhhhhhh, okay. So since every other dealership doesn't care about what happens to their customers after they get thousands of dollars from them-- it's perfectly fine that Keyes Hyundai doesn't give a **** either? (She also told me it actually happened to her before as well, and suggested that I just ignore it like she had done in the past. Because ignoring debt collections is probably the smartest way to deal with them, right?) If your company KNOWS the DMV is slow to process, why gamble with the livelihood of your customers by not being sure before you sell their trade-in? This practice is unacceptable, and further highlights the fact that Keyes Hyundai only cares about the sale- not the customer. If there was any shred of decency or sense of business ethics to Lucine or Keyes Hyundai as a whole, they would have just apologized for the inconvenience and offered to pay whatever toll fines were accrued. What was offered? NOTHING. No payment of fines, no oil change, no carwash- just the standard recycled garbage statements like, "I understand your frustration; Im sorry this happened to you; etc." No, you DON'T understand my frustration. Because you just ADMITTED that you're responsible for it happening, but all you did was try to pass the blame to the DMV. This is the industry you work in- you KNOW how the DMV operates. That means you need to adjust your process of operations to protect your customer, not make them more vulnerable to violations they're not responsible for. Horrible business ethics. No accountability whatsoever. And every single human being I come in contact with, will know not to shop at Keyes. read more

Jay was an excellent salesman and was very helpful. He went above any beyond to make us feel comfortable and confident in the decision making process. I'm honestly not thrilled with how much we're paying for the lease on our car, but that may be more the fault of Hyundai than the staff at this location. Jay's manager kept saying things like "it's difficult for us to get you the best deal since you're a first time buyer", but the financing specialist (and the paperwork itself) said I was within the Tier 1 bracket and qualified for the best rates. Overall, a pretty nice dealership. But I would make sure to do plenty of research before coming here and check out a couple other dealerships to make sure you're getting a competitive price. read more

I am beyond furious with Keyes Hyundai! I brought in my 2016 Hyundai Elantra for an early trade-in in April/May and worked with a wonderful salesperson whose name I'm removing out of courtesy to him. He let us know that because almost a year remained on my lease that I should wait several months for a more competitive rate. We were then approached by the general manager, whose name I can't remember, who encouraged us to return in November/December and assured me that he would be more than happy to demonstrate how competitive he's willing to be upon my return. Fast-forward to November. I get a call from the salesperson letting me know that they will be able to get me the price I want on a 2018 Elantra with the extras I requested. I think, GREAT, and come in the next day. We find out that they are not able to match the discussed price because I still have 6 payments left on my car. That's reasonable, I guess. We agree to pay a bit more but do not agree to decrease yearly mileage. I was eager to turn my car in early out of concern for going over my allotted miles. Fast-forward to finance. We're told that the Elantra doesn't come with a standard alarm. This discussion came about when I let them know that my 2016 Elantra was broken into and the alarm never went off. Imagine my dismay when I find out it never had an alarm! So we agree to pay extra for an alarm to be installed. This is a HUGE turn off. It's ridiculous that modern vehicles don't come standard with alarms and it's even more ridiculous that I had to request the alarm before any of the Hyundai people bothered to mention it. Keep in mind, we've been a Keyes Hyundai family for nearly a decade and this is the first we're hearing about the lack of alarm. Two days later, I get a call from the financing bank. I ask, out of curiosity bc my contract is not readily accessible to me, what the yearly mileage is. The gentleman let's me know it's 10,000. I am outraged upon hearing this because I adamantly discussed the importance of keeping 12,000 miles/yr. Logically, why would I agree to lower mileage if I'm concerned with going over mileage at 12,000/yr?! I call my finance manager, Imraz, at Hyundai who denies that ever being part of the agreement. Imraz says he'll speak to his manager and call me back. His manager, Tim, calls me back and tells me I'll need to pay $18/mo more for 12,000/yr. When I tell Tim that I will not pay any more money because they misled me he asks me to return the car. A**hole! At that point, I told Tim to speak with his general manager and advised Tim of my experience with the GM 6 months prior, made it a point to tell Tim that he and his team had misled my family and myself through the entire sales process by compromising our mileage in the contract, and reiterated that it was illogical for me to agree to lower mileage considering the circumstances of my trade-in. Overall this is a horrible and disgusting way to treat customers! If this is how managers at Keyes Hyundai are treating customers - by being misleading bullies - my family and I are DONE with them. I eventually came back and was able to adjust my contract with Imraz to the agreed upon mileage but my family and I are never coming back to Keyes Van Nuys Hyundai again and there's no way to rectify the situation. My experience made it clear that their "managers" only care about the sale and NOT about the customer experience. And they obviously don't care about their returning customers. Shame on Keyes Hyundai Management for allowing such disrespectful behavior. read more
