I went here a couple of weeks ago looking to buy a Tucson hybrid and was told by the salesman I could not test drive one until we agreed on numbers. I said I'm not going to work out payments for a car that I can't test drive in case I don't like it. He said that's how it's done. I must've looked extra stupid that day if he thought that was going to happen. He then told me there was a $10k markup at least on the car which it doesn't say on the window sticker. Then he told me to go to Toyota across the street and said I bet they're more expensive and walked away. He shouldn't be dealing with customers at all. Wow I had such a pleasant experience getting my ABS recall for my 2010 Hyundai Elantra addressed! It took about 2.5 hours for the completion. The lobby is air conditioned and has many tables and seats far apart! There was one staff member who was wiping surfaces without his mask on, but other than that, I felt safe. There's two Starbucks around the corner to kill time. I went to the one inside Ralph's to get in some steps. There's laptop cubicle stations for customers and then the random 4 top tables. There was an unpleasant boomer making a scene and I noticed the staff was able to sees slate him immediately. Jeff, my service guy, helped me and explained what he did for the recall. I went to the Glendale location a month ago to address the same recall and they didn't even do anything. I waited at that location for an hour and exposed myself to Covid for no reason I guess. I checked my vin number a few weeks after an it said the recall was not addressed. So I took it to the Van nuys location and I am thoroughly impressed. The staff was friendly. I wanted to check out the interior of the new cars but you have to schedule an appointment which is fine lol. If I ever need more recalls addressed, this is the location I'm going to! read more

How is it acceptable for a customer (me) to call to make a service appointment for my side mirror to be replaced, ask if I will need to order a part, be told a definitive NO, then drive to the dealership on the date of my appointment and be told I'll need to order a part before my car can be worked on. All Hyundai service departments in the LA area are an absolute joke and this one is no different. Of course they make no effort to rectify the situation either. They are extremely nice, professional and competent, and unlike other places listen to customers' notes on what is wrong with the car, and are happy to answer any questions customer may have about the cars. Trying to do a lease buyout was a complete disaster. I couldn't figure out why the dealership kept calling trying to sell us gap insurance over a week after the deal was completed. According to the general manager, dealership had overcharged us to the point that Hyundai Finance said the contract had to be redone! It looks like, instead of doing a lease buyout, as we had agreed on, they did some kind of buyback and resell! It turned into a disaster. The dealership didn't pay off the car in time, so now I'm stuck arguing with Hyundai over reporting a late fee. Note that I brought up this concern over and over with Brian Sobel, the general manager. He kept insisting that the dealership let Hyundai Finance know what was happening. When I called Hyundai Finance, they had NO info about it. So now...once again...my problem. This is on top of the dealership running our credit all over town - even to the same place where it was approved by another company. This whole situation reeks of very shady business practices. Absolutely disgusted. I've told Hyundai about this dealership. They will do nothing about it. BTW - based on my original response and looking at the reply from the dealership....it's ABSOLUTELY typical behavior of this dealership. 4 leases and a buyout - every...single...one...has been a COMPLETE disaster! I leased an Ioniq a little over a year ago and here's my story (*thus far*): I've been poorly served by both Keyes and Hyundai. Everyone I've dealt with (from my sales person to the two men in the service dept) have been pleasant but woefully undertrained on the peculiarities of the Ioniq. AND Hyundai's design team needs to have their heads examined. Design flaws: 1) No spare tire. When I leased the car, I expected it would have a spare. Didn't even think to ask. I didn't find out till I got a flat that they're no longer automatically provided. I got a flat and called Geico roadside. Then they discovered there was no spare tire, they left Then I called Keyes to ask what I should do and was told I had 'runflats' and to drive to the nearest Hyundai service station. Nope. Wrong info) I shredded my tire and it took three days to fix it. In future, of course, I will know to check BUT FARID SHOULD'VE BEEN TRAINED TO NOTIFY ME that the spare was optional -- especially since I'd opted for every safety option available. 2) The battery is programmed to run out of juice if the car isn't used for a month. What??!! Again, I found this out through an unpleasant experience. I knew I was going to be away for that long, and I called John, my service guy at, Hyundai to check. With my non-hybrid Honda, I'd always disconnect the battery if I was going to be away for a while, and I was prepared and willing to do that. However, John told me my Ioniq battery would be fine. WRONG. It was flat as a pancake when I returned after a 10 hour travel day. I called Hyundai Roadside Service and was told that I would have to wait for up to an hour for someone to come and unlock the car and I would then have to call them back to get someone out there to jump the car. (They also didn't know what they were talking about. Happily, their lack of training swung in my favor, this time -- roadside service showed up within the hour and was able to both open the car and jump the battery. I then had to drive around for an hour to fully recharge it, though, not something I was keen to do after a 10 hour journey.) I took my car in to Keyes to ask what had happened, would it happen again, and if so how could I disconnect the battery? John checked, and told me about the battery on this model being programmed to run out after a month. AND he said that the battery is completely inaccessible, so I didn't have the option to disconnect it. Again lack of training for John. Had he told me that before my trip I'd have had a very different expectation and might have been able to get someone to take my car for a drive around the block to keep the battery charged. He then told me it was fine, though, because I could unlock the car and press a 'battery reset' on the dashboard. Lovely. But ... 3) When the battery's flat, the fob won't work to unlock the car. And there's no keyhole to use the key, manually. Except there is, if you stick the key into a little slot on the bottom of the door handle and PULL OFF THE DOOR HANDLE COVER. John demonstrated, Male hands. I tried. Couldn't get it off. I have pretty strong hands, but there was no way. I asked why the keyhole was hidden like this and John said it was an aesthetic choice by Hyundai. Don't know if that's actually the case, but no matter what IT'S STUPID and inconsiderate. So when I next go away for a month (or more) I know for sure I'm going to have to call Hyundai Roadside Service when I get back and wait for them to get me into my car. 4) Finally, the driving lights (even at high beam) are remarkably dim. Again, I asked John if I could get brighter bulbs for the car -- as bright as a lot of other cars I see on the road. Los Angeles has big valleys of poor lighting, even in urban areas. You need bright brights. John said that I could get aftermarket bulbs, but they probably wouldn't help because of the Ioniq's wiring. (Also, I'm leasing and don't want to mess with the car.) As I said ... this is my report thus far. Hopefully I'll get through the rest of my lease without any more unpleasant surprises, though I'm not holding my breath. read more

Tried to buy a Hyundai Kona EV SEL, of which there were several in stock. Was more than happy to pay MSRP. Unfortunately, Keyes has decided they don't want to sell electric cars. You see, traditional dealerships make a considerable amount of profit from maintenance on the cars they sell, and electric cars require much less maintenance than a traditional gasoline car. Instead of evolving with the times, Keyes has decided that they want to convince people to buy a "gas Kona instead." Yes they have the Kona EV in stock, no you cannot buy it at the price they advertise. Upon attempting to actually purchase, guess what? It's got thousands upon thousands of dollars of dealer installed garbage. Garbage that actually REDUCES the cars value. A completely unnecessary and redundant security system. paint sealant, underbody treatment, "appearance packages" which are, uh, I dunno.... maybe the dealer put a sticker on it? Basically, they bolt enough garbage on to make it more expensive than a Tesla, which is a far superior car. There's a reason Hyundai priced the Kona EV the way they did. It is nowhere close to being as nice as a Model 3, so it (should be) slightly less expensive. After explaining to Richard Martinez (Fleet Manager) that with their price gouging it would make more sense to buy a Tesla, instead of negotiating to win my business, he stated: "I don't believe we have anything else to talk about. If you find a dealer that sells the car at that price [MSRP] more power to you. If not, then I hope you enjoy your Model Y. I'm not here to argue with you." WOW. What a jerk! Will NEVER buy anything from Keyes. Stay far, far away from this company. read more

They offered me a car for MSRP and once I went in to do the paperwork, they suddenly added another 5K to the price. Service dept here is awful. Every time I call to speak to John he's either not available or off which is fine and dandy bc I'm told I'll get a call back. Never get a call back no exaggeration literally never get a call back. Have taken my 2020 sonata twice bc the check engine light came on. First time around John said it was a faulty sensor and changed it. 2 days later it came on again had to book another appt and soonest was 1.5 weeks later. Dropped off the car on Wednesday afternoon and by Friday afternoon still no call or update on the car. Had to call to find out and talk to the manager bc I never got a call back from John. Very frustrating place to deal with. Safe to say when this lease is done we will NOT be coming back. 2 year old car with under 20k miles and we're having these issues? read more

Horrible customer service. My car had a dead battery and we had it towed in to fix. Not only would they not replace the battery which was in warranty, they were so rude to us. I brought the car home and an hour later it was dead again. I called but they were closed over the weekend and finally got through this morning for Veronica to tell me they aren't taking any new cars bc they're closing cause of covid-19. I understand taking safety percussions but sending my dead car back to me without fixing and leaving me stranded and now exposing me twice because I had to get it towed to another dealership. Horrible experience! As an update, I'd like to inform that the Glendale Hyundai was amazing and took one look at the car and said the battery was dead and fixed without a problem. read more

This team kept me in the loop of everything going on. I typically dread going to the dealership. Jonathan was very knowledgeable about the different Hyundai cars and their features. Today I went to Keyes Hyundai, prior to even stepping into the dealership I was contacted stating they had the vehicle I wanted, I was assisted by the kindest sales Man I've encountered thus far David Sarkissian, not only did he get me to drive off in the SAME vehicle I inquired about but for the amount I was looking to spend, Not to mention he has an incredible assistant named Orlando, both men were extremely kind to my Son who has ADHD, and even entertained him, providing hot chocolate, fresh cookies, apples and nice cold water. They were both extremely patient, and So happy for me when I got to drive off in my new Hyundai Tuscan. Well, unfortunately I bought a used car on February 1st 2021, a 2018 black kona limited edition Vin KM8K33A53JU097633, and it was an awful experience that I still feel very bad about it! Finance manager Imraz Hossain had a field trip with me, when he saw I had no idea what I was doing, just lied and cheated the contract, right after I signed the papers I already new I made a horrible deal on a used car, I wasn't prepared to buy, and he took advantage of it. I came back the next day to return the car, I told Mr. Hossain that he had ripped me off(the car was way overpriced), and I wanted to return the car, I offered to pay the 500 dollars fee, but he said no, that I only could return it if the car had something wrong with it, that he had turn in the paperwork already. Another thing, I was never offered to buy a contract cancelation option, so he trapped me, I wanted to return and he said no!!! I came home after buying the car, I did a google search, and found an advertisement on my car by their dealership for a cheaper price, and today 2/16/21, I did another search and they changed the price again, but now it's more! Be aware, I know they need to make money, but he really scammed me! Another thing, they promised help me return my honda lease, and lied about it, by the end it was like, they couldn't care less, they told me to deal with it, by myself, now I have 2 cars, and hate this Kona, and how awful this people are!
