I used the online ordering for quick service. It was not a good choice. My food should have been ready and waiting in pick up area, it wasn't. I told the employee I was waiting for a mobile order. The only order in mobile pick up was another name, different food. Ten minutes passed none of the employees came up front or bothered to care that I was still waiting. I finally got the same employee that I spoke to previously and he tells me there is no order for me.... My bank was charged and I had a confirmation. Turns out the order sitting there was mine, the name was wrong on the receipt, the order was different but somehow I was supposed to know. All my food was cold. So after I came out of my salt comatose (and that's no exaggeration, unfortunately), I'm able to tell you about the brief experience I had at this restaurant. My visit only included using the drive-thru, so nothing special there. I ordered my chicken pot pie meal with a diet Pepsi, gave the lady at the window my money and waited for my food, which came quickly. When I opened the box of my much-anticipated chicken pot pie lunch, I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the pie! It was a good 6 inch pie with a flakey outer crust -- winning so far. I then broke open the pie and was even more excited! The in-erds were full of juicy chicken, peas, carrots, and when you broke off the flakey crust and mixed it in, it looked like this was going to be a total slam dunk. But then I tried the gravy sauce in the pot pie. Man, I think I got my WEEKLY supply of salt in that single meal. Geez, KFC, what are you doing!? The quantity of salt in that gravy was insane. I think you'd find less salt in a salt shaker. So there is definitely room for improvement there. But anyway, after the salt shock, I reluctantly ate the whole pie (but to my organs discontent!), and gulped down my Pepsi, which was the saving grace of the meal. I love KFC, but if you are sensitive to salt (or would like to avoid eating a weeks worth of salt at once), stay away from the chicken pot pie and go for some plain chicken instead. read more

Food is typical of KFC. Good for you're craving it. The service and ordering process is a nightmare, though. Twice we've been here in the past few weeks. First time I got a three piece, asked for a breast, wing, and thigh (I don't really prefer the legs). Lo and behold, I got a breast, wing, and leg. Whatever, one bad experience is one bad experience. Tonight, we get an eight piece. Asked for all white meat. Ask for honey to go with the biscuits. Get home, and lo and behold, the bucket was all thighs and legs. And no honey. Willing to still go here, but will be checking every order before leaving. Ridiculous. read more

Just ordering from them is a nightmare. I've left the last three times I tried. First, no one was there for two minutes before someone answered. I mean it. Count to 120. I know it sounds dumb, but i was the only customer. After that, both times I tried ordering the nugget combo with ranch, fries, and a Mountain Dew. first time they ask me what sides I want and insist there's no drink included. I'm asking them why they got the big ass sign out front advertising the three item thing I wanted if I can't get it. left. second time tried again. right away ordered 8 piece nugs, ranch, and a Mountain Dew. they go what sauce do you want?...ranch...and your second? ...I didn't want a second, I told them what I wanted already. before I answer theyre like "barbecue?" you want "barbecue?". they can't listen but will tell you what to order lol...like it's a chef recommendation. at this point ordering three things advertised on a big ass sign was too much trouble. I just didn't wanna drive fifteen minutes to Popeyes but it's always the better option. can't believe I wasted my time for their crap service and crap chicken. no wonder no one goes there. read more

No complaints, I had reasonable expectations of a fast food, fried chicken chain restaurant. The chicken was good and the sides were decent. I am posting this because I have had more than one bad experience here. The 1st experience occurred when I was told to park in the lot and wait for my food. Long story short when it never came I went inside to find out they forgot about me. 2nd was when I pulled up to the drive-thru speaker and the employee said absolutely no words but "ok". I then had to go around because they forgot some food. After expressing this, the employee over the speaker says "ok" rhetorically. When I pull up to the window he just stares at me until I tell him to get the food. He then comes back with an open box of fries IN HIS HANDS. He didnt even put it in a bag. I gave this place only 1 star because I had to give at least 1 to post a review. I attempted to place an order online for pickup. After I ordered what we wanted, when I was going to put our credit card in, I was notified not only was there a service charge from the credit card processing company, some random processing company was going to store my credit card number in their "secure" server. The food here is much the same as any KFC. What differs is the low quality of the management. More often than not, when we stop here (which is seldom, given the many disappointments we've had), they're out of whatever we order...ask for two pot pies? They only have one. Ask for grilled chicken, two breasts & four wings, they only have one breast and one wing. Ask for two two-piece white-meat dinners, they're out of grilled chicken breasts. So unless you really crave KFC, skip the Wauconda store. Odds are good you'd be disappointed anyway. read more

I spent a total of 35 min waiting in line to order, placed my order, got to the window and was told that they didn't have original recipe chicken. Nothing was said when I placed the order. I was told it would be 30 more minutes for original recipe. I was told "Sorry, we're busy". I called and talked to the manager "Tim" (though I doubt that was his name) and was told "I'm sorry". Went here on Tuesday ordered a 3 piece crispy meal, drove 20 minutes home found out it was original.went back in on Wednesday with my receipt and the food uneaten in the box. The manager Dana took it from me and threw it away and said she would mail me a coupon to replace my order,...said when I get it to come back in, so there mistake wasn't enough and me going back and return wrong order uneaten wasn't enough, she threw it away and said waste more of your gas and your personal time and come back the 3rd time with coupon even though they took my money and wrong order away from me. ....3 trips when I live 40 minutes round trip away...thus is the most insane experince at any restaurant I have ever had....how someone who makes a choices like this has a job here amazes me....I have will never go back here and have told a handful of friend this story,...replace the idiotic manager and service your paying customers that that help keep the lights on.... read more

When I walked into Kentucky Fried Chicken, I immediately realized why it was called Kentucky Fried Chicken. I looked over my right shoulder to see a large man peering into my fake eye. The resolute man exclaimed "excuse me." I realized at that time that that man had just passed gas and needed napkins. Chunky gravy across the man's jaw line coated his scraggly beard. He smiled a toothless smile which was both reassuring and Kentucky-esque. I stepped up to order, still cognizant of the humble man behind me. I pulled out my RAZR cellular phone and started talking in what I assumed to be Japanese in order to mask my personal meal of 8 potato sides, having never really enjoyed fried chicken. The countergirl smiled with delight and said "Okey Dokey!" I waited for my order for what seemed like hours. In no less than 2 minutes. I devoured the potatoes whole one by one staring intently into the eyes of the whimsical yet plump countergirl like a penguin cut out of a watermelon. I realized at that moment that I was the aforementioned man. Call me Ishmael. On a side note, this is the first KFC that I've been to that was BYOB. read more
