Khartoum is such a fun, weird little time warp in downtown Campbell - in the best way. Think dark wood, glowing vintage lamps, neon, and a full-on taxidermy fever dream on the walls that somehow just works with the dive-bar energy. It was packed when we went, music was up, people were actually dancing, and it definitely had that "everyone's here to have a night" vibe. Drinks were strong, reasonably priced, and the bartenders were moving fast but still friendly. Between the crowd, the playlist, and the quirky decor, it's an easy spot to lose a few hours with friends. That said, they really need to get the bathroom situation under control. When we were there, the restroom was completely flooded and honestly pretty atrocious, with a long line snaking out the door. On top of that, the security guy working the door was aggressive and unnecessarily rude, which kills the buzz a bit when the energy inside is otherwise so fun. Overall, I'd still give Khartoum 4 stars because the drinks, atmosphere, and lively crowd make it a solid go-to bar in Campbell - especially if you're into a hip-but-divey spot with lots of character and taxidermy everywhere you look. But if they cleaned up the bathrooms and smoothed out the attitude at the door, it would be an easy 5-star hangout.

Very nice dive bar feel at Khartoum. Playlist was on fire, bartender didn't miss a beat and seems like a chill spot for the locals. Def would go back.

I'm not one for the bar scene, but I loved this place! The staff was super friendly. The vibe is safe and welcoming. The drinks are strong and the furniture has a very relaxed feeling. Great place to unwind or come with friends to chill. The inside is beautifully decorated for Christmas with a giant skeleton & tree, surrounded by stained glass. The crowd has a mix of all kinds of young and older people. The staff is very kind. The bathrooms were clean. The place was wheelchair accessible. We came to celebrate a loved one after a funeral and everyone felt very comfortable, so comfortable that glasses were dropped because the table was so low someone tripped. But it wasn't a big deal thankfully. The only con about this place is parking! Parking is hard to find if the parking lot is full. But across the street is a train station with another parking lot, making it super accessible to travel to. Best bar I've been to in a long time!

My younger brother and I have been regulars (during football season) at this bar for pretty much a decade now, and it's seen its up and downs. When I first started coming here, it was the place in Campbell for good and honest craft beers. New management has since come in and switched it up to simple tap and cocktails, but the prices have remained fair. Nowadays, it's really just a party spot, and I consider myself too old for that vibe, but in the few times I've come out to play, it's been a fun time. But let's talk about NFL Game Day. The reason I still give this place my business. This is the best place in San Jose to enjoy football, especially for fans of non-local teams. There's seven TVs in the general area, each showing a different game, and they'll play sound for the fans with the biggest contingency. Speaking of the biggest contingency, don't let anyone tell you otherwise: Khartoum is a PACKERS Bar. The bar used to be featured on Packers Everywhere (and they still have the plaque to prove it, though it's only taken out during gameday), and I don't know what happened, but best believe every time the Packers play, you can expect A LOT OF GREEN to be loud and proud in the back bar, and I'm one of the reasons why. There are three TVs in the back dedicated to Packers football, including a new 72-in one they installed this season. While the bar doesn't serve food, it's really easy to mark this spot for deliveries and there are usually potlucks every week. The bartenders on Sundays, Chris and Dave, are awesome. They'll chop it up with anyone. Chris is a Vikings fan, and he's great. We also have a bunch of Bears fans in there. If anything, Khartoum is an NFC North bar. But yeah, my brother is a Titans fan and as I mentioned is also a much appreciated regular. Awesome things that don't usually happen at other bars happen on NFL Game Day, so if you're a football fan -- come make it out. Just don't expect to local teams to dominate the bar. This has always been a safe space for teams of all colors, and that's what I love about it.

I've heard so many great things about this bar because my parents and brothers used to come here to drink back in the day! It's been in Campbell for a while now. Also, it's a popular San Jose bar where my high school friends go to grab drinks. We came here on a Thursday and it was the second bar of the night! We had to take a picture inside for identity purposes or something upon arrival. That was odd. The dress code is also weird, no jerseys? No tall T's? Isn't that just an oversized t-shirt? Just read the sign in the picture I posted! We walked in and immediately went to the back bar with a private area. We went to that bar and ordered drinks. The girl bartender with glasses didn't want to give us water! She said there was a water station on the other side of the bar. She made a huge fuss and was giving us at about it. I would love to come back if it's busy; I did enjoy sitting on their comfy couches!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. This was the most unprofessional, extremely combative and UNSAFE situation for a single woman to have experienced. I had several female friends walk into the facility to utilize the restroom and not only did they harass them and belittle them, but they also verbally abused them and used profane language to insult them while they were entering the premises. When i was waiting outside for my friends, they started to harass and berate me, while i was patiently waiting for my friends to safely return. please do not give this place any business, you won't be safe, and you will be harassed. these two security guards that are in the photo, are the ones that have tarnished this location's name. UPDATE TO RESPOND: I didn't cut the line! They let my three friends that were standing in front of me in and left me standing outside. I didn't try and cut the line or whatever they were saying. I get that you guys were at capacity so I waited outside for a while. At least 10 people left the bar and they still wouldn't let me in. I asked them politely to let me be with my friends. They said no which I didn't understand because if you're at capacity and 10 people leave you should be able to let one person in especially if they're a women left outside a bar alone when you let her whole group in. That's just not okay. I ended up just leaving because they were saying rude things to me when I asked why I couldn't go in.

Cool spot in a great city (downtown Campbell). Had a great time here on a Wed night (they do karaoke on Wed and Thurs nights). The place has so much character, nice decor (ie. lamps, wall art, etc.), clean bar area, lots of options for tables and seating (including lounge seating), dim lighting perfect to set the mood, TV's all around, some showing sports and others for karaoke lyrics. Certainly a great atmosphere! The people there were great too, both employees and visitors. They were so friendly.. many patrons took the time to talk to me, encourage me to sing, danced and sang with me, great conversation, and just had a good time! Everyone seemed to cheer on other singers to show their support and make sure they're enjoying their time. Also, drinks are strong. It's always a good deal when they don't skimp on the liquor. The building has a dedicated parking lot, which is awesome (though I don't recommend drinking and driving), though it probably fills up on the weekends. In fact, there was a good amount of people inside the venue as it got later in the night, on a Wed, so I can imagine it being crowded on the weekends. The website doesn't give much info, they just have a notice right now that they are at risk of closing down. Not sure what that's all about, but based on my mid-week visit on karaoke night, I really like this place and I'd recommend this spot for a night out with friends or a significant other. Fun times!!

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
