HOME RUN!!!!! I absolutely cannot rave about this place enough. My 2yo has run the bases of bad cuts from so many different salons. Not their fault, it can't be easy. Cutting a toddlers hair has to be similar to trying to shave warm butter. However, Vivian at castle cuts has mastered it. He came in looking like scoobies bestie, shaggy. By the time Vivian finished her masterpiece, he was a dapper little prince. I can't thank her enough! Her ability to handle him, keep him calm and when he started getting squirrelly she was a pro and knowing just how to zig when he zagged to get his hair perfect. Even more adorable was the crown, sucker and balloon they gave him as he left. I am a new loyal fan and will be back many times over. read more

Great business plan, lousy customer service and even worse hair cuts! My son had a haircut there today, he 1.5 years old, not only did they keep us waiting at least 20 min after our scheduled appointment but then proceeded to Put older children ahead of us that arrived well after we were already at least 15min past our scheduled appointment time. When I spoke up about how much longer we would have to wait, I was met with defensive and combative behavior. I was told that the older children just had bang trims and it wouldn't take longer that 5 or 10 min, which is a LIFETIME to a toddler ( especially one that has already been waiting the 10 min we were early to the appointment in addition to the 15min we had been waiting past our appointment time at that point.) I will admit, I fired back, "well I can't imagine his (referring to my son) would taken any longer than that either." The hairdresser, who later cut my sons hair, says "what did you say?!" As if I'm going to punished to 'talking back to the teacher.' I repeated myself. Hair cut went. Baby had lots of goodies when we left. First picture shows how it was styled when we left the salon......which made it hard to see what it really looked like when his front bangs were combed straight down. See second picture. Lastly, I specifically said I wanted to the hair around his ears and neck trimmed .....he doesn't have a lot of hair to begin with. The charged me 35 DOLL HAIRS! Ran so late with no communication and no effort to see us in a timely manner. Had an appointment at 7:00 which was already butting up against bed time but it was all we could get. We arrived at 6:55 and checked in. There were 2 kids getting their hair cut. It was 7:10 before they acknowledged us. Barely communicated with us, but then kept asking the mom if she wanted to add more things to the other kids'. Do you want to add color? Do you want to add sparkles? Should I style it more? 0 communication with us. Then it's 20 minutes past our appointment time and one person frees up. They sweep their area. Then they go sweep another area where no kids have been. No one talks to us. I ask to cut off add ons to our appointment worrying about bedtime. They still don't acknowledge how late it is and keep adding stuff to the kids, fussing over angles. We finally leave. No one apologizes to us. I told them they could have given us a heads up they were running so late but nothing. We finally leave. I believe it could have been at least 35-40 min past our appointment time before they finally acknowledged us. Go to this place if you want to feel invisible and waste your precious mom time waiting around trying to entertain your kid feeling like you don't matter. read more

I took my toddler here a few months ago for her first haircut. Mak was our stylist and did an excellent job. My kiddo had a great time sitting in a pink convertible and watching Daniel Tiger. I don't think she even realized she was getting a haircut. Ha! Mak gave a really good quality cut. - Still looks good months later. I would've welcomed a chair to sit in and I didn't like that there were so many trinkets for sale at her eye level, but those are my only two bits of feedback. Everything else was great. I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews but I was very satisfied with my experience at Kid's Castle Cuts. Viviana helped us out and immediately built great rapport with my kids, and gave both my kids the best haircuts they've ever had. Viviana paid great attention to detail and made sure my kids were getting the cuts I had in mind. She was great about handling my incredibly squirmy 2.5 yr-old with 4 cowlicks who hates the buzzer. It took a lot of expert distraction and teamwork, but Viviana still gave my toddler the point-cut, even haircut he desperately needed. I'm so glad I gave this place a chance. Took a toddler here for the first time. Fortunately, it was very easy to dial in for a same-day appointment. Came in and was ready to go. Immediately jumped in her seat and she was already burning rubber in the pink convertible. The atmosphere was right! We had a younger gal doing the cut, who seems to have limited experience as her hands were visibly shaking. But she was nice, had patience, didn't rush the whole process (less than 30mins), and even offered a braid.. It'd been a perfect experience if the cape was readjusted throughout (or if the cape could've been larger) so that hair doesn't fall inside of the seat. Took quite a while to brush hair off of her clothes :/. I plan coming back again and would be happy to have the same hairdresser. But will probably try booking with the owner herself (persuaded from other great reviews). $25 plus tips, not bad. Parking is easier on 41st street. Recommend scheduling an appointment as they are busy. read more

She was able to section and cut 12+ inches of my hair off, and then she styled it wonderfully. She did a great job at securing my hair and cutting it nicely to be donated . I am very happy with my haircut and style . She also made it fun with a variety of scents to choose from for your hair after the cut, as well as fun colours and even sparkles! I took my 4.5 year old son and 2 year old daughter for a haircut yesterday. The technical aspect of the haircut result for both children was great (the hairdressers definitely know how to cut hair very well) - the haircuts were excellent, and they also knew how to work with small children. My kids loved the "car" chairs that they use to seat them for the cuts, as well as the balloons after the haircuts. Took my daughter in today to get her hair chopped off. Made an appointment online and booked with a specific stylist. Showed up for the appt and got a stylist who was not who we booked with. Ginger cut 15 inches off my daughters head. She was really nice. However I had to spend 20 minutes when I got home, trying to fix the cut. Not only was it noticeably uneven (it was still wet at the salon and I didn't notice then) but given we asked for a bob, it was not undercut like it should have been. To top it off, I went to pay and the haircut prices have gone up so much! $25 for a kids haircut and we didn't even get a shampoo or blow dry. Totally a rip off now. We have been here several times. Walked in to an empty salon that looks nothing like any of the pictures here. My son didn't care, they had cool planes to sit in and a you basket and movies. Oh well, no biggie. Also no biggie getting a haircut. He thinks they are fun The biggie was in no shampoo for my son, a dry cut on brushed out curls that had no shape any more, and let's start with 1 in and see what happens turned in to maybe 3 inches. The stylist, instead of cutting locks and curls, simply combed it flat them cut, then had to even it up. Now he has a horrible cut a week before a big family event. Edit: Thank you for reaching out to try and make it better. That earned back 2 stars because customer service is so important. I understand dry cuts for curly hair are important, but curls should not be brushed flat ever and if the curls are currently flat but you are told they will spring with washing you should see the curl pattern before cutting, no matter the training. I appreciate the offer to fix it, but with only about an inch of hair left there is nothing to try and fix short of giving a buzz cut. Maybe I should have been more vocal during the process, but maintain curls, the one requirement, was not the outcome and nothing but time and hats can fix it. read more

Aside from the cut itself--which is the best one he's had so far--Mak noticed that our kid is a little on the quiet side and was able to make him feel comfortable. We live just down the block and at the beginning of covid my daughter had a birthday which Katie saw our banner and dropped off a goody bag for her!!! Don't advertise yourself as a salon that also caters to children with special needs per the Autism Society of Oregon when you are the most blatantly rude people I have encountered in quite sometime. I can't give a review about the haircut experience because we did not make it that far. It is just unbelievable that you would have this sort of business that is kids only hair cut but yet these people seem like they can't stand children. If you cannot work with children it is more than obvious you are at the wrong line of work. The "stylist" never came to us and introduced herself and when my special needs son was screaming out of fear of her vibe she simply rolled her eyes and walked away!! It was disgusting but we tried to understand her and brought our son to the chairs to try to comfort him and she still did not get near him to try to even speak to him to see if was willing to cope. At this point we decided it was best to leave and she came to us and said if we were going to cut his hair or not and I again explained to her that he was special needs and we would not pursue the haircut. She did not say a word and simply went on with her day. Upon walking out we were ignored as if we were not there and at that point I was SO thankful that we did not pursue to even attempt the haircut because I cannot imagine what this cold soul could have put my son through! I wish Yelp would let me leave 0 stars because these associates don't even deserve 1 star!!! We will never return and will recommend our friends and family to never visit! read more

We've been once before and it was great also but this time I was even inspired to write a review. Our little guy had a great time watching Star Wars cartoons and sitting in the fire truck while his hair went from Covid-flop to high and tight. :) Mac/Matt? listened to our vision did an amazing job and was patient and fun. It was easy to pay ahead online so we basically walked in, washed our hands, got the haircut and walked out with a balloon lookin fly. All the stylists were great with the kids and they catered to requests for movies and shows. It seems to be the only kids salon within a good radius so be sure to book ahead as it's also pretty small and it seems maybe they can only do two at time for Covid reasons. read more

The owner has cut my toddler's hair twice now. My kid is a nightmare at haircuts and wants no part of them -- screaming, crying, refusing to sit in the chair, you name it. She has sent me vouchers for 2 free haircuts which is very nice but I was honest and told her I didn't think we'd use them. She said all the right things and was horrified by the stylist's behavior (her name is Julie, by the way...now you know who to avoid.) I'm really impressed that the owner (Robin) took the time to call and was very sincere in the discussion. At first impression, Kid's Castle Cuts looks like it had been put together with a collection of garage sale and Craigslist finds. This aside, I decided to not hold it against them. But It must have been an off day for our hair dresser because I wasn't impressed with the experience my almost 3-year old had for her first haircut. Maybe because I work in a dental office that deals with a lot of kids, my expectations were higher than other parents on how my child would be treated. (After all, what kid really wants to go to the dentist? One would think getting a haircut would be a lot easier than going to the dentist, or at least on par with it. And for a place that specializes in kids, one would think there would be better trained hair dressers to handle all types of kids, not just the "good" ones.) During our appointment I didn't witness any attempt of the hair dresser to connect with the my daughter or put her at ease. As a parent, with the demeanor of the hairdresser, I felt as if I was actually burdening the entire kids' salon because my daughter wasn't apt to jump immediately into the chair and cooperate. I wouldn't recommend this specific hair dresser, but couldn't tell you her name because she never introduced herself to me or my daughter. For our next hair cut we will take the extra time to drive out to Sit Still Kids Salon in West Linn- where it sounds like the hair dressers are more in tune with the kids. read more

As far a kids haircuts go, I think this place rocks! Sandy was so awesome and so patient AND precise with cutting my sons hair for the first time EVER! Sandy was super friendly and she didn't let my sons crying or squirming around bother her or effect her haircutting skills! The moment the first curl came off, my son started to cry! Sandy was kind and encouraging (for me AND my son!!!). The place is clean and set-up for KIDS!!! The stylist chairs are designed for kids and the facility is family-friendly! We will be back for any other hair care needs my kids might have! Because it was my sons first haircut, we got a certificate with a lock of his hair attached. $18 bucks seemed a bit steep for a pretty basic cut. No frills, left on the little guys neck hairs and didn't trim the top well or straight. Not so much a style as just shorter than we came in, expect more of a cut like this at a chain for $10. Nice enough although I'm never a fan of a staff that doesn't introduce themselves (and they weren't busy). Good with my child though. For those of you with kids that can't sit still each spot has a TV they can watch which frankly is probably great for many folks. read more

We walked in after lunching at Laughing Planet (above this place) because I thought we could try getting my 5-yo a haircut. They accommodated us because the next appointment is half hour away! Thanks for that! My son is particular about his hairstyle and wanted long bangs (so he could do a side-swept look) and short on the sides and back. Prior to this place, we had gone to a few salons to achieve the style he wanted and this place really nailed it. I noticed that they cut the back shorter than most hairstylist. I don't know about others, but I like it this way because my kid doesn't really care about what's going on in the back. Plus, when hair grows out in this area, the hairstyle goes awry (which happens to be in just a couple or so weeks). Although my kid's hairstyle is more preferred by older kids/grown ups, I think this place knows how to adjust it to his age. Probably with awareness that hair grows fast (especially childrens') and keep the style for as long as possible. We're already planning to go back. read more

This is my go to place for my daughter's hair cut. Love the atmosphere and the friendly hairdressers. We are regulars here. Today's visit was due to my 4 year old deciding to cut her own hair without me knowing. I came to the salon literally 15 mins before closing. I explained to them what happened. All three hair dressers were there. Theresa is who we had last time and offered to stay to fix my daughters hair. I love the staff always so friendly and great with kids. They also offer to put clips, braids or sparkles in your child at the end of the cut. Definitely 5 star service for a kids salon.
