Stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We stayed at nearby Wailea, and upon searching for breakfast places, the Kihei Caffe came up as a stop. Parking could be tight, but we lucked out on a nearby side street. Setup is order at the counter inside then grab a seat outside with the food coming out. Grabbed a frozen mocha to start, and ordered. Breakfast burrito with chorizo and a side of home fries. The burrito was massive, and the chorizo was expertly done. Unfortunately, the quality of breakfast food is still low. The meals appear to be pre cooked and warmed up. Only good thing is they open at 6am. If you want decent food wait till the other local restaurants open a bit later. The service is good, the food needs to improve. read more

One of the best local breakfast places that have experienced in Kihei. It's a very small shack where you get to order and wait outside to be seated. Their service is super fast. Their coffee is so amazing make sure you get some macadamia nuts, milk. We ordered a bunch of stuff, but their banana pancakes are amazing. You're sitting right in front of the beach with the park parking might get a little obstructive. One of the best breakfasts we had in Maui! The must dishes are the Surfer Dude Sandwich and the banana Mac nut pancakes. For the pancakes and fr much toast, skip the generic syrup and make sure you use the coconut syrup and cream butter! They make those dishes so much better! And the combo of the brioche roll, avocado with the usual bacon egg and cheese is really yummy too! The fish and eggs are good but a little strange for me to be eating for breakfast. Went here for breakfast. Man it was busy! You order inside and the line moves fast. Seating is kind of limited but sits right across from a park that's in front of the water. Plenty of shade and umbrellas. I got the coffee of the day. It was cold brew with coconut, macadamia, and vanilla. Not too sweet. It was divine. Little guy had banana pancakes. Fave place in Kihei for cinnamon rolls. Their cinnamon rolls are huge-perfectly pillowy layers of cinnamon infused dough with the right amount of frosting that's not overpowering/too sweet. I prefer these cinnamon rolls over cinnamon roll place. Loco loco with Patty was standard-not the best I've tried but otherwise solid filling breakfast option. Lychee iced tea was refreshing too. Had a pretty good experience here our first visit but a not so good one the second time back. The good: banana mac nut pancakes are very good. The moco loco is pretty good but overpriced at nearly $20. The coffee lattes and chai latte are both good. The bad: the service. They have one guy in particular, with a short week old beard who is downright rude. He carries the food out to you after you order inside and sit outside. My wife is temporarily using a cane and tried to sit down at a table. He said no sitting until you order. She told him that I was inside ordering. Next time he walked by as she was waiting for a table he yelled " you're in my way"! Several guests at other tables commented on his rudeness. We came to this café almost every day during our honeymoon trip--and it was always very good. The cinnamon rolls were the biggest I've ever seen, and absolutely delicious. There can be a line sometimes, so be sure to get there early. It was a bit of a bumblebee rush, but honestly, it was one of our most memorable breakfast spots on Maui. You order at the front kiosk and then get your drinks from the bar, and they bring the food to you. * French Toast: 5/5 - don't skip on the fresh fruit and nuts, this is LOADED. On our annual visit to Maui, we always go to one of their two locations in Kihei. Try to sample something different each time, the menu is large. We always get there by 7am, as the line can get long, since this place is popular. This visit - Loco Moco with Kalua Pork, soooo good and the Fresh Corned Beef hash, yum! My favorite breakfast spot on the island by far. Ive been there about 3 times within a couple months. Great and quick service the food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Love the fried rice lots of flavor. And prob one of the best biscuits and gravy I've had and I've tried lots of brunch/diners in the mainland. The loco moco was good too I tried some from gf. Really rate it 3.5 and not necessarily worth the hype. Just okay. Reviews/google say this a must stop spot while in Kihei. We arrived for breakfast around 8am on a Tuesday and it was starting to get busy but not too crazy/hardly any wait. You order inside then are seated outside. For food we got a loco moco and the pork fried rice and eggs. We thought the loco moco hamburger patty tasted like a frozen one and overall didn't have much flavor in the gravy/nothing special. The pork friend rice was solid and had lots of meat. Portions are normal size. We were witness to some adorable baby chicks, along with chickens who helped us clean up our baby's accidental food dropping on the floor which made for some entertainment. The service was fast. It's a fine stop (with a great park across the street) but didn't feel like it would be worth it if we had a long wait or don't feel like we have to stop here again. read more

This place gets crazy busy but the people working are super fast. You choose a seat *after* you order (you can easily find a place to sit -- and if not, there's usually someone who can direct you to some seats). I had a great time eating and talking. It gets a little loud because of how busy it gets, but since you're outside it's not overwhelming. There are chickens running around but they won't bother you at all (but this one man seemed so bothered by it, he started stomping and kicking chickens -- but again the chickens will not bother you, they literally just walk around). 8/10 Eggs Benedict. It was a good eggs Benedict. Nothing too special other than the fact I added the kalua pork. Their fries were very crispy! 6/10 Mac nut and banana pancakes. Staying at Maui Coast hotel and decided to try Kihei Caffe for breakfast. It honestly was the worst breakfast I've ever had especially for the price. They charge extra for your eggs being poached or sunny side up. And extra for chicken sausage which tasted awful. I definitely would recommend eating at a local cafe or not order what we had. I felt like the food tasted like pre made buffet style hotel food. For almost a $60 tab I'm very disappointed for what was served. The people there were friendly it was just the food that made it a bad experience. DELICIOUS BREAKFAST in Kihei!!!! It was so good that we had to go back before we left. They're known for delicious and fluffy pancakes and French toast with coconut syrup as well as other traditional Hawaiian dishes like loco moco. The portion is huge and the price is very reasonable. Pancakes are super fluffy. French toast has a slight crunch on the outside but tender and fluffy inside. They taste buttery and everything just melts in your mouth. Pancakes and French toast has a scoop of whipped butter on top. Make sure you pay a little extra to get sliced bananas and macadamia nuts. They add a very nice crunch and texture to these dishes. Also, it's a must to drizzle a lot of coconut syrup instead of maple syrup! My stomach is growling while I'm writing this review. Their loco moco comes with a big bowl of rice, beef burger patty, an over easy egg on top, and topped with lots of brown gravy. It's so tasty! Service is very fast. Order and pay at the counter and they will bring your food out to you in 10 minutes. Be sure to check out their blackboard behind the counter. We've been coming to the Kihei Caffe for years now. We love the laid-back style dining experience, and the quality of the food is pretty good. Overall, it's not bad if you're looking for a low-key breakfast, early in the morning. My main qualm - and my reason for posting this review - was the service and some recent changes we did not know about. We tried to get some fruit substituted for out potatoes for a lighter option, but were told that we would have to purchase a fruit bowl; they "couldn't" substitute the potatoes. Also, a big warning: they do NOT have tap water/iced water available. If you want water, you either have to bring your own or purchase their single-use plastic bottled water at $2 a pop. Not very eco-friendly or convenient. I'm a little disheartened and disillusioned, because we loved this place to the moon and back, but now I'm just left a little disappointed. read more

Staying in Kihei while we were in Maui, we would come here often to get breakfast. You can order inside and the seatings are outside. They have a variety of breakfast/brunch items on their menu. You will see traditional breakfast food and Hawaiian food on the menu. I love being able to sit outside and enjoy breakfast first thing in the morning. The tables are right near the local streets and you will get a few friendly chickens walking on the side walks. This is a popular spot in Kihei so it does get quite crowded. You get in line, order, and go find a place to seat. The host can be a little gruff. I do understand that they are constantly busy and the probably get tired of people- but still... This place is terrible. Food is just eh..... the staff are not nice. In fact they are bossy and rude. Ur not allowed to choose ur seats. U HAVE to order ur food first before being able to grab a table. And ordering ur. Food has to also be done in exact process. U MUST place everyone's drink first before placing ur meal order. Then u have to move onto the side to get ur drinks, then wait for someone to walk u to a table. When we got to our table the sun was hitting my son's face and not one offered to help cover it.
