This spot was recommended by my friend's aunt, so we decided to stop by on our second day in Maui. We arrived around 10 AM on a Tuesday morning and stood in line for around 15-20 minutes before placing our order. My friend and I decided to order the loco moco and POG (passion orange guava). Note: if you'd like to get kalua pork on your loco moco, make sure to ask for it, as it's not a default meat option! This was my first time trying loco moco and I was a fan of the gravy and egg. The rice was a bit hard in my opinion, but the gravy helped mask that. The POG provided a nice sweetness to offset the savory quality of our meal. Wow this place is a must go! Their menu ranges from local Hawaiian dishes to basic breakfast options. We have been several times and ordered different things and everything was a winner! You can get food to go. There is loads of parking in the parking lot. Everything is outdoors except a small amount of tables in this little room. You go and order, you get seated, then your food comes. The service was fast! They have stools at a counter as well as tables with moveable chairs. I truly think this is a must-try spot! For the most part during our recent stay in Maui, breakfast was early morning coffee, juice, eggs, bacon, and toast back at the Condo. After that, it was a day trip somewhere or hanging close at the beach or the facility's pool. Our treat was walking a ways to the Kihei Caffe for breakfast. Erin raved about a previous visit featuring a waffle with a combination of banana, coconut, and macadamia flavors, while Jim was a "whole lot of Texas" with chicken fried steak and eggs (a dish that I could never accept during my years in the Lone Star State). Gayle and my chance came days after our arrival in Maui. On this trip, Gayle and Erin were "a little bit Alexis" with their choice of a great choice of Eggs Benedict, while I opted to a more traditional choice of bacon and eggs (poached with a very flavorful biscuit). In hindsight, I should have gone for my old standby of corned beef hash (with poached eggs). My defense is that the Kihei Caffe ran a pretty efficient COVID safe "food line" and by the time I got to the counter, all those choices on the screens was both disorienting and intimidating. So I chose quickly as not to muck up the flow. The next time I come here, I'll be sure to review the extensive menu online prior. Seating is after the meal is ordered and there we managed to snag a nice place (all outdoors). My black coffee was strong and flavorful, but maybe I should have ordered a tropical juice? The food was all delicious, but maybe a bit of jam on the biscuit would have been in order. These are all 1st world vacation quibbles BTW. When we were there, the Kihei Cafe was open 6 AM - 2 PM every day. Lines appear to be longer on the weekends, and early bird appears to get the worm on any day. read more

First I need to speak on the absolute efficiency this restaurant is run with. The seaters, food delivery staff, cooks, and cashier, are a well oiled machine. The line may look overwhelming when you arrive, but it is a ridiculously smooth process from arrival to departure - the line takes WAY less time than it looks like it does. We thought arriving around 7:00 am would be early enough to not have a line, we were mistaken. All the tables were already full and there were probably around eight parties ahead of us in the line. Still, we ordered and were seated and served quickly. And the food is 10000% worth the stop and wait in line. It's fresh, unique, and absolutely delicious. I chose the create your own omelette with pork, my friends opted for the fried rice with egg. We also got a cinnamon roll for the table to share (and you'll definitely want to share - this thing is a monster). The omelette itself was way too big to finish, and packed with pork. Great crispy potatoes are served alongside it. My friends sang similar praises about their meals. And the cinnamon roll is TO DIE FOR, we took half of it to go and intend on snacking on it. Come early because the lines are long for a reason! We had a late start to our day and didn't end up arriving here until around 10:30am, and the line was all the way out into the parking lot. They're pretty efficient though, and the line moved much quicker than expected. They even brought out free samples of their iced coffee for us to sip on while waiting in line! Once we finally reached the front to order, the food came out very quickly afterwards. We ended up picking the Crab Cakes Benedict and Mac Nut French Toast for a good mix of sweet and savory dishes. The line moved quickly and regardless of being packed we were seated very quickly and our food came out within minutes. There was no wait at all. I got the eggs, bacon, potatoes and biscuit and ordered a side of the pancakes to share. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy with eggs. Listen to the other reviews that say use the coconut syrup on the pancakes, it was divine!!!! I wish I knew where to get the syrup or what brand it is so I can order it when I get back home. The waffle was nice & crisp with a generous amount of toppings & pour that coconut syrup on it, perfection! I'm usually not a cornbeef hash fan, but this one was so good! So flavorful & crispy on the top, I think that's what made it stand out. It comes with your choice of home fries or rice, the home fries had just the right amount of salt & were also nice & crispy. The chorizo & eggs come with the 2 mixed together with tortillas & beans on the side. Flavorful, the perfect little breakfast burrito combo. So glad I finally made it here! Just had B fast with the family at Kihei Caffe in Kihei Maui and this is a great quick spot if you want to eat breakfast or lunch. Prices are reasonable for Maui inflation standards. Menu has large variety of local and typical diner style items. If you eat here for B fast and you order pancakes, you BETTER use the coconut syrup that's on your table. We got 2 pork fried rice, both with two eggs over easy, #1 combo with eggs, hash browns, a fresh homemade biscuit and Portuguese sausage; Side of pancakes, side of everything bagel w/ cream cheese; iced coffee; French toast and Portuguese sausage omelette. Delicious. So why 4 of 5 stars? No free iced water and seating is self served and seems difficult if you come when busy. We came here for breakfast three times during our week stay and don't let the line scare you! It moves pretty fast but you do have to order your food before you sit down. The do have whale pancakes for kiddos with chocolate chips which was a favorite in our house! Their iced coconut cold brew is delicious!
