We received a flyer at our home, and decided to give this place a try. Walked in and the owner was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I both ordered chicken fajitas and MAN WHAT A LOAD OF DELICIOUS FOOD!!! The tortillas are HANDMADE(YUUUM). My whole family (family of 4) ate here for less than 40 bucks. I had so much food leftover that I took it home for dinner. We are Mexican and we know what Mexican food is like, and this place has it. Oh did I mention that they have cocas mexicanas? The beef fajitas are the best. Chicken fajitas were also good, but the shrimp in the combination was not good at all. Salsa is tasty and the free margarita was a nice touch. The queso wasn't anything to write home about so I doubt I'll order it again. I saw someone eating enchiladas which looked good also. I plan to try that next. Our waitress was a high school girl who was pretty slow, and not very attentive. She was friendly though and was trying hard. Prices are VERY reasonable and two large TV's were showing sports. First off, I am very picky with where I eat and with what I eat. So if the customer service is bad then everything else doesnt matter because Im already turned off! Luckily, when we visited Kikis the waitress working, Lexi, was very professional and friendly. She always had a beautiful smile and was very attentive. My husband, son and I went there after work and each of us were starving but my son couldnt decide on what he wanted but Lexi was very patient and didnt mind conversing with us while he decided. Anything we asked for she retrieved without hesitation. Now the food was awesome! I had the beef enchiladas and could tell that it was fresh ground beef and not something out of a package...they were not drowned in chili or sauce...the guacamole and salsa were both great and tasted fresh. My husband said, "Uh oh Baby they are competing with you!" So we know thats always a good thing when it tastes like home cooking! My husband and son had the Juanita and the food came out sizzling hot and they were in love with the jumbo shrimp (they just wished they had more). Its BYOB and the Goody liquor store was next door so it was convenient which the hubby utilized to get Dos Equis. Great food portions, we had to take food home. Good place to wind down, enjoy conversation and great food. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and we loved the decor which made us start talking about traveling and the portrait drawing on the wall was very nice. Took 20 minutes to get check, and actually checked out after we confirmed with staff that we were done, not interested in dessert, and requested our check. Tried this place last weekend with my family and loved it! I'm very surprised that they don't get much business. We were the only ones eating there, but that did not take away from our great experience there. The food was awesome! I ordered a street taco to taste and it was so good that I wish I had ordered more. My main course was the chicken tostadas and they were very much cooked the same way that my boyfriend's mother makes it. The food wasn't very greasy, it was just right, and I could tell everything was homemade. For dessert I tried the churros. I loved the cream inside of them and they were cooked perfectly. I hope more people find out about this place and give it a try. read more

Highly recommend the Miguelito if you want to try something a little off the normal fare. Our waiter Bill was spot on in taking our order and checking on us throughout our meal. Food craving comes and goes. Nowadays I have craving for Mexican food, especially enchiladas. I ate here yesterday- enchiladas (two chicken, one cheese), Horchata, and chocoflan- of LUNCH! I know... 'too much'. Homey feel to the place, and very friendly staffs. Great flavor to everything, especially their enchiladas. Cheese enchiladas can be salty, if they don't moderate the salt amount due to the saltiness from the cheese, but it was perfect, not too bland not too salty. Chicken was moist and flavorful. I asked red and green sauce on the side, and both were great. Sauce is on the spicy side, but I like things flavorful and spicy! Chocoflan was a combo deal with really moist chocolate cake with flan on top. It was a little too rich for my taste, but still an excellent dessert, maybe order one for two? Horchata was also very tasty, not overtly sweet, but nice rice flavor to it. I'll try regular flan and Melon Horchata next time I go there, maybe today? The Hubs and I have finally found our new go to Mexican joint. Went for lunch today and really enjoyed this place. Small place with very plain decor. Chips and salsa are top notch. Fresh made tortillas are fantastic. Had the cheese enchiladas mexicanas with the green sauce. So good! Mexican Coke is served here and will always be my choice if offered. Only downgrade to the rating is service. The waitress was super nice, but she was essentially the only one working. There was one other gentleman there that was helping, but I don't think he was actually waiting tables. Like I said we were there at lunch, so I can understand not having a lot I staff then. But it did make service a little slow. That being said, they are new and probably working out the kinks. I don't mind slower service at dinner, but not at lunch when I have to get back to work. I'm not sure if they plan on serving alcohol, but if they do it will be my exclusive go to neighborhood spot. My husbands office is right around the corner, so I have a feeling he and his staff will start frequenting this place often. Nice addition to Rowlett, hope they stick around. read more

While I agree with others that the salsa and chips are quite good (and plentiful) and the wait staff is pleasant, I had the cheese enchiladas with green sauce and I have to say, they were dry, without much sauce. The beans seemed soupy and runny to me, while the rice was good. The thing that I most didn't like about the restaurant was the feeling of eating in a cheap, fast-food restaurant. This is a great restaurant. I once reviewed restaurants for a major newspaper. It's family owned, very small (10 tables) and top quality ingredients. They have a menu that you can order very little or a huge meal. This is a plus that the majority of Mexican restaurants do not offer - al a carte. I had the best tostado ever and the street tacos are 99 cents!!! It's family owned and very clean - I would love to see them do well. Really nice people. GO THERE! read more

Yesterday was the first time my family and I have been to Kiki's. Let me start off by saying the service was great and when i say great I mean the workers was nice enough to let the annoying couple next to me change the channel to the baseball game and they even made several alterations to the food for them as well since there was so many restrictions the wife had. If you are wanting authentic Mexican food in Rowlett this is the closest you will get, all the other places close by are Tex-Mex. When it comes to the horchata, that I'm afraid is not the best but they do have coca mexicana aka glass bottled coke. This is one place worth recommending to family and friends. read more

I was a regular at kikis with both family and my boyfriend because it's so close to our home. Tonight me and my boyfriend went in for a date, usually I'll get fajitas or enchiladas but I decided to try something new tonight, the tostadas. I informed the waitress I'd never tried it and asked multiple questions about how big they are etc. I bought two. When we got our food I was able to eat half of one but it wasn't the best so I asked if they could void off my second one since I wouldn't be eating it and if I tried to take it home it would just get soggy and Nasty. The waitress smiled and said she'd talk to the manager, when she came back she said that all they could do for me was throw it away. I was very disappointed at how little effort they put into helping me. All in all, I ended up leaving. Paying for food I didn't eat nor enjoy, and had a ruined date night. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO EAT THERE AGAIN. My family and I have been loyal customers of kikis since they've opened. We have always had great service and great food until my visit there tonight. We waited for about 25-35 minutes just to get drinks and chips and salsa. Then another 10+ minutes for placement of our order. We had to keep asking for refills of drinks and chips. We had a to go order as well as our regular order, so when our order came out they brought the to go instead of the regular and it was not even right. I asked for my actual food order to be pkg to go, since the rest of my table had food. Upon going to the counter to pay, I was met by the owners son, one of the regular waiters and tried explain all of the confusion, he was very disrespectful, rude, and totally hateful. I asked for the owner, he did come up there, again, the waiter was rude and disrespectful even to his own dad.
