I've been putting off this review for a few weeks now because I wasn't satisfied with my experience at all!! I allowed myself a cheat day so I thought why not support local. My prior experience was fabulous. But this time around it was just bad. And it makes me understand why I never see people at this location. Maybe they have no owners? New employee's? Technical issues? New suppliers? I ordered the chicken sandwich combo $16. It was a sloppy messs. Onions were cut so big they slipped out of the sandwich. The chicken was flavorless and not crispy at all. It was bad!! The fries tasted as if they were leftovers and refried. The bun was old! The top bun was smashed. Yes, the quantity hit the marker. But when it's not good do you really want a lot? I hate wasting food. Hopefully this is bad luck on my behalf. Because our neighborhood needs some good eats. Why two stars? Great flavor, perfectly cooked chicken and fries cooked super well, this is our new favorite local place. The service is always friendly and fast and the food always comes with no issues. The best buffalo chicken fries around! We had there lemon pepper wings and Buffalo chicken fries delivered to the house and they were absolutely delicious. Tonight we were in the mood for chicken, but did not want the same ole, same ole. While searching, the hubby stumbled upon Kiki's Chicken Place and we decided to give it a go. This small, unassuming place is located in small strip mall within Cameron Park. As you walk in, there are small clusters of tables to wait for your order or to dine at. The young guy who took our order was super friendly and make some excellent suggestions since it was our first visit. We ordered the eight piece tenders and an order of the Kiki Fries with chicken to go. We were NOT disappointed! The tender portions were juicy, crunchy and plentiful. The Fries were fabulous with a just the right amount of spiciness to them and fries cooked to perfection. All we needed to do was add a salad for a meal to remember! I would not recommend eating here. If I could give zero stars, I would. I walked in hoping to be impressed, but the food looked nothing like the photos on their menu. The chicken was good but I was definitely unhappy with the amount of chicken they put on top of my tater tots. I bought a medium build your own, (just tater tots with chicken on top) and with tax and tip it cost me $16. It was equal to a portion size for a child. I would say I didn't get more than 1 & 1/2 chicken fingers chopped up on top of my tater tots. If that's the way it always is, I would definitely not go back and order that again. For that amount of money I could have a big meal (4 chicken fingers, french fries, coleslaw and Texas toast with a drink) at Raising Cane's chicken place. I don't like giving bad reviews but I want to be honest with my opinion and I was hoping for something better at this chicken place. I've been going to this Kiki's and the one in Folsom for years now and have never wrote a review. This Kiki's is the best chicken place I've ever been to! Does not even compare to the one in Folsom. The staff are great and kind and the kitchen is always cooking up some heat! Came in here on August 14th at 2:00PM and the entire staff deserve a raise! The best chicken that ever originated in Sacramento, now in our backyard! I tried the first ever Kiki's back in the day and I knew they were going to make it BIG! I don't know how they do it but they hire the friendliest people to work at all their locations. Honestly I'd probably still shop here if they had the worst customer service, because their chicken is just that GOOD! (please keep the great employees though.) The chicken is crisp on the outside and juicy tender on the inside, perfection! Their Kiki's Fries, are a must for anybody to even be able to throw in their review on Yelp. There're plenty of sizes and options for everyone wether trying to be healthy or splurge on a cheat meal! This particular location is a bit small in a rundown strip mall, but its easily located right off the highway next to the gas station. Feed your car. Feed your soul! Ps. Cooked to order so had to wait a few minutes on my weekday visit about 11:30. This is my second visit to a Kiki's restaurant the first at this location. I tried the Chicken Sandwich with Buffalo extra hot sauce and shoestring fries. Chicken moist with crispy coating. Tasty. Huge proportion, luckily I was hungry. No outside seating today due to all the rains lately, but I was told they have outdoor seating available when the weather is better. +1 for that so I can bring my dog LuLu next time. 4-Star for the food. read more

So we were very excited for this to open, unfortunately we were left disappointed. The fries and chicken could not have been fresh. The chicken was very chewy and rough to eat. We've been eating here for a couple of years, and the chicken salad continues to be reduced entirely. No longer includes cheese, hardly any onion (2 pieces tonight), and the former pile of chicken is now maybe one small tender pulled apart and added to a bunch of croutons now. Also now served in a container that is divided, and no longer a platter, further reducing the amount you get. The tenders continue to get smaller. Great spot and great service at the Cameron Park location. The owner is super involved and it shows in the food. I'm a sucker for Buffalo Fries and the Spicy Buffalo sauce was the right amount of heat and and the fries have a good size. I have tried this location four times now, and it just keeps getting more disappointing every time. The chicken is rubbery, the batter coating is barely holding on, the fries are limp and overseasoned, and the atmosphere inside makes you want to eat in your car. The sauces are just "okay" but the smothered fries are my least favorite. I understand that it's all fresh and cooked to order, but 4 tenders and medium fries shouldn't take 15 minutes when there's no other customers in the shop. Wanted to try the new local place. We ordered the garlic parm and the traditional. The traditional were as expected. The only rub option is the garlic Parmesan and my wife said they were good but not great. The biggest issue is they bury the wings in tots. If you order the combo think of it as a dinner of tots with a side of wings. The coleslaw was good. The combo would be better if the 6 wings came with half to a third of the tots and a 4-6 oz side. The lack of rubs is an issue. 1. Rubs are cheap. 2. IMO women have a tendency to order a rubbed wing over a sauced wing and not having more rub options USA limiting factor. read more

The last two times I have been there, I have seen the cooks, while wearing gloves, touch their clothes and hair, as well as move between raw meat to finished food products, without changing their gloves or washing their hands. I don't want to eat their sweat and clothing, let alone cross contamination. It is a shame as when they first opened their food was so awesome.
