Ice Cream way to sweet and creamy almost taste fake. Service was great but for the ridiculous prices they charge, they should roll out a red carpet and walk you to your car! Ambiance, in downtown Grand Haven, the ambiance should be spot on! .44 lb of fudge, $11.00!! One small scoop of ice cream, in a cup is $7.99 are you kidding me??? We ordered two pieces of fudge to go so we could munch on it while we headed to the car. Kilwins has the perfect spot as they are in the heartbeat of Grand Haven's shopping district. We stopped by Kilwins after dinner at Kirby House & were surprised they were still open a bit after their 10pm closing time. Worked out great for us though! The gals scooping were so friendly & patient and allowed our group of 5 to sample a couple of flavors without annoyance or judgment, ha. I was split between the Mackinac fudge and the Marshmallow S'more but the texture from the graham on the latter ultimately won out. The ice cream here is creamy & rich without any gumminess. The flavors are also so comfortingly Midwest (like Superman & Blue Moon!) and unpretentious. Also, because they keep their waffle cones under a heat lamp, it tastes like it's right off the griddle. Kilwins is, without a doubt, my favorite place to get ice cream. My heart decided on that 2 years ago and it hasn't changed ever since! My boyfriend and I frequently make day trips around the state and my first question is always "Does this trip involve ice cream?" I didn't know Kilwins was even in Grand Haven, so boy was I surprised when we walked right by! I was giddy knowing I was getting my favorite ice cream that day. This location does not having a public restroom and it definitely gets busy at sunset, which is to be expected in a beach town. Prices are similar to other Kilwins. 2 single scoops waffle cones run you about $10. They also carry a wide assortment of their famous chocolates and fudges so keep that in mind. I recommend the hazelnut truffle, which is so rich in flavor. My go-to ice cream is marshmallow s'more. I got my usual waffle cone and was slightly disappointed they didn't fill it very full. It definitely looked like maybe they didn't have enough ice cream to fill it like normal. If that was the case, simply ask if I want to add a different flavor or give me 50 cents off. Sadly, however, I paid almost $5 for a barely full waffle cone. I ended up throwing away the top of my cone so I could enjoy my ice cream. Waffle cones are fresh and always so tasty! Overall a great stop in Grand Haven! I'll be back next time! read more

Nice little ice cream shop with tons of flavors. They do not have non diary flavors but they did have other treats. Lots of chocolates , fudge, peanut brittle and all types of candied & Carmel popcorn. Mt Daughter and her friend got Georgia peach & pistachio. They loved it . Your typical Kilwins, delicious but overpriced. I was craving some fudge while on vacation in Grand Haven so we stopped by. Fudge is $10 per slice and I got a slice of the chocolate peanut butter, which was very tasty. Most of their business seems to be for ice cream but they also have truffles and Buckeyes and other treats that you can buy. I think they had a selection of gift items as well. Service was fast and I walked out with my fudge about five minutes later. there's also a small seating area outdoors if you want to eat your ice cream or other treats there. read more

Somebody suggested the turtle Sundae at a local ice cream parlor and I wasn't sure which one it was. After walking around a little bit we found this place and were just going to stop for ice cream. While I was standing in line I saw the sign that said our signature turtle Sundae and realize this must be the place!! Well it's satisfied my craving in every sense of the word!!! They start with a waffle cone in a bowl put in a few scoops of great vanilla ice cream. Then they take a big scoop of chocolate topping and a big scoop of looked like caramel topping. Then it look like either pecans or walnuts and whipped cream topping. So anyways I don't have a picture here to show you today because it looked so good we ate it down so fast we didn't even think about taking a photo!! It was definitely a five star Sundae and it cost nine dollars. But then again I got two spoons and we had a great portion for two of us!! read more

We were so excited to see Kilwin's come to Grand Haven. It adds to the wonderful mix of businesses already here. The owners are incredibly kind and generous and are already volunteering and giving back to the community. Their staff is dedicated, hard working and also very involved in their schools and community. When it is busy and there's a line to get their ice cream, fudge, chocolates, caramel corn or any of their other great items... be patient, it's worth the wait.
