Scallops Saffron Risotto
Chelsea L.

This place is so cute! The starter bread was delish. Had the crispy artichoke appetizer and it was to die for. My husband got the sirloin, I got the scallops with saffron risotto -- both were stunning. Haven't had scallops cooked that perfectly maybe ever? Definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

Terrible

One of the worst meals I've ever had from a restaurant. Mom and I ordered the same thing, the scallops and both thought it was terrible. The scallops themselves were not fresh. Very fishy smelling and almost a sour taste not sweet like they should have been. The sauce was terrible, all it tasted like was salt. The rice was greasy, over cooked and completely flavorless. I took a few bites and dumped it in the garbage disposal. The salad was mediocre. The whole thing cost $130 and we both ended up making lean cuisines. Disgraceful coming from this well established restaurant. The man who took the order was extremely rude and we even added a 10% tip for takeout. The website wasn't working where it asked for an address for a credit card, There was some New York address stuck and unable to be deleted. The packaging was very strange for a hot meal that had a sauce. It also was very difficult to transplant onto a plate.

Crab cake with filling not allot of crab

Finally decided to try this place after yrs of recommendations for my BIRTHDAY!! The decor was nice and the staff were courteous, however the food was not it! The brown bread was tasty. The Beekeeper drink was good but the app and entree was terrible. The fried artichokes lacked flavor and I kept tasting something gritty like sand. I don't know if that was a sign that it was not washed thoroughly or what but I couldn't keep eating it. It came with some type of Mayo based dip that lacked freshness. It tasted old. The main entree was filet, smashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes were chunky, cold and looked very brownish-not creamy at all. The green beans were undercooked and the quality of the filet tastes worse than grocery store meat. Not sure the source of their meat but it tasted like select. Someone who is farm to table now, I know good beef and this was not it. I could not eat it. The plate had red peppers half crunchy and half soggy with some type of sour Demi sauce on the bottom. The whole dish was just luke warm to cold and unseasoned. The waitress asked if I wanted a to go box because she could see that I wasn't eating it and I said no. I was just ready to leave. Did not even bother with dessert or complain just took the experience on the chin because I knew I was not coming back. This is def a one and done visit. I have a very distinct palate and there was no effort to this dish. Just food on a plate, no season and no flavor. I don't know what everyone was getting when they came to say it was good, but we did not experience that at all with what we were served. The plate was not even warm. Just no!

Kimberton Inn was dreamy and romantic. It made me feel like I was at my grandparents, but in a good way. The wood stove was so memorable. The staff made us feel welcome at their home. Their food was delectable, everything from the apps to dessert. I hope everyone gets to enjoy dinner at the Kimberton Inn!

The place is decorated so cute, with 2 beautiful bars and a retail area as well. We had a reservation for Valentines Day but just walked in for brunch. For the brunch we had the fried burrata again, the pear crostini, a flatbread and mimosa and espresso martini flights. We absolutely loved the place and all the food! The flatbreads were a little light on the toppings for me, so I asked for butter to spread on the crust. I got a red wine infused butter that was absolutely amazing! I was not disappointed in the lack of toppings after that! Best bread and butter ever!

It's always a treat to find a beautiful tasting room serving decent California wines right here in…read morePennsylvania. While it's a bit of a trek for us, it's the perfect halfway point to meet up with friends. My husband and I enjoyed the red wine flight and ended up sharing a bottle of the Shiraz, which was drinkable and good. The food menu is surprisingly extensive--whether you're looking for a full meal or just some tapas to pair with your wine, they've got you covered. We didn't eat this time since we weren't hungry, but everything looked and smelled fantastic. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable, which added to the great experience. My only complaint is the corkage fee if you choose to enjoy a bottle on-site. This is only the second time I've ever encountered a corkage fee at a tasting room, and we've visited many across some of the world's most renowned wine regions. It's a bit puzzling, especially in a relaxed setting like this. None of the Pennsylvania wineries do this but this tasting room and a tasting room in West Chester do and it's really obnoxious. But the good news is the prices at this tasting room are affordable and they don't charge a credit card fee! That said, we'd definitely come back. Great wine, great atmosphere, and a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

My wife and I stopped in here on a Thursday night for their "pizza and a carafe of wine for $30"…read morespecial, which I believe is every Thursday night (for the quality of pizza and wine, a steal and a half if you ask me). The first pizza and carafe was so good that we stayed for another round! The pizzas were a decent size and had great flavor. Not overly greasy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. Plus the crust was perfectly charred. One pizza may be enough for 2 people, but I'd order a pizza per person to be safe. The wine was great too. They clearly are wine experts and take pride in a sophisticated wine selection. The carafe contains enough for two heavy pours. The restaurant was trendy and had a good vibe to it. There was plenty of seating and we walked in and got seated right away. There appears to be event space available for rent. The service was awesome. Everyone was nice and checked in on us multiple times throughout the meal. I'll definitely be coming back here.

That's what got me (& my wife) in the door. Now, for the brass tacks: Atmosphere: Very nice looking place. Clean. Lively. Loved the front window open on a warm day and the outdoor seating as we walked in. Service: Hostess and Server were both very friendly, attentive and helpful. Both checked in on us, often. Which, for us, is super important not to feel forgotten. No problem here. Food: Uncorkd Burger (sub grilled chicken), Vegetable Risotto w/Salmon, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Homemade Vanilla Bread Pudding Cake & Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. My wife said, convincingly, that the Grilled Chicken Burger was good. (and that's saying something. (She's super picky about chicken sandwiches) My Vegetable Salmon Risotto was terrific. Fresh, bright, creamy, & flavorful. The salmon may have been cooked slightly over, but only slightly. Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were very good. Not made in-house. The desserts were delicious. Bread pudding with Caramel Drizzle! Oh my! Light & Delicious. Stick Toffee Pudding Cake with a decadent dark chocolate sauce. Delightful. We took those desserts to go and had them at home. Delicious. Terrific experience, tonight. I would go back in a heartbeat. Certainly would recommend. 4.2

They import and sell exclusively Italian wines, and they source their wines directly from farmers who are dedicated to organic farming practices. They also import many wines from young winemakers as well as female winemakers (from regions where female winemakers are not very common). The tasting room is very comfortable and had plenty of seating for people on a Saturday night around 6. You can drop in for shopping (they offer all 50 of their wines in their bottle shop) or to hang out (they offer rotating flights, glasses of wine, and a build your own charcuterie board menu). I was there for the $30 tasting (which is by reservation only), which included five wines and a some snacks (some chips, some cheese, some olives, and some fresh preserves/jam). Bailey, their somm, took such great care of me throughout my tasting. He brought me a map of Italy and described each wine and the winemaker with incredible detail and insight. I enjoyed all of the wines and the snacks! I also left with a few bottles to enjoy later at home! I had a great time at Vine Bar. An unbiased review…read more.. Along with my cousin, we like to try different restaurants. She had never been to the Seven Stars Inn and wanted to check it out. We had been to the Seven Stars Inn in its heyday when the food and service was spectacular like 30 years ago. We had also been a few years ago when it was so-so. I followed the news last summer about the shutdown by the health department and about the reopening after things had been cleaned up. I was curious. Before we went I read the recent reviews and was alarmed, expensive with bad service and bad food was not very inviting. Just the same, I wanted to give it a try to see what it was like now. We were prepared to leave if things were not going well. We had a drink at the bar first. My cousin had an espresso martini which she said was excellent. My wine and my husband's mixed drinks were good. The bartender was friendly. We were told there was a problem with the heat upstairs so we were seated in the booths just beyond the bar. Our waitress, Michelle, was very pleasant and helpful and we ordered our food which came out promptly. Two prime rib orders and a lobster tail. The Prime Rib was enormous and cooked as requested. Tasted great and took home a huge piece. My cousin said hers was the best Lobster Tail she had ever had. It was rustic with a lot of deer mounts overhead but I can't complain, we had plenty of good food and good service. Glad we went and suggest you give it a try!
