Kimchi Fried Rice; Korean BBQ Taco
Shigufa S.

first of all, love the name of this place! I've eyed it for years and I finally had the chance to try it the other day. came at happy hour so I felt like we got to try a lot of things-- mushroom poppers and mighty fries were $5 and the kimchi fried rice was $2 off because of their Monday special. everything was tasty (although we did order bulgogi as our meat on most of our options and by the end I felt maybe that was overkill lmao user error) the kimchi fried rice w bulgogi was a bit greasy but hit the spot (recommend ordering some extra kimchi on the side). service was very quick! they had all different games + movies playing on the screen so a lovely place to unwind and eat.

My friend was raving about this place since he has been eating here since they were a smaller business. It met my expectations but not at the same level as him. The mushroom poppers are great. Buying into the mushroom gives it a neutral taste but when you bite into it with the imitation crab and dipping sauce, it makes a whole lot better. The kimchichanga was next and I got it with bulgogi. Overall, the dish is good with yummy sauces on it. But I thought it had two major problems. The first is that the exterior was not that crunchy and left the inside tortilla a lot softer than it should. Maybe if it was in the fryer for a couple more seconds, it would have been perfect. The second was the meat. The bulgogi has a nice marinade but I thought it was over cooked and parts were either dry or too greasy. If I were to try this again, I would probably go for the chicken. This was a very heavy meal for me but it was just enough to keep me full.

Love this place. People need to know about this place. Everything I have tried has been absolutely delicious. 10/10 Food and Service.

I was in the area visiting friends who have been saying they wanted to try this spot for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Funny enough, they still haven't tried it because I decided to come in while they were busy and I had time to kill. I tried the kbbq burrito and found it very good. It was the perfect amount of "medium" spice for me. Well seasoned bulgogi meat and kimchi fried rice. I wouldn't say it was mind blowing but served as the perfect quick lunch. Worth trying for sure.

After hearing from a co-worker/friend that this restaurant has a several vegan options, I just knew I had to go see for myself. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I liked the clear restaurant signage outside as well as indoor and outdoor seating available. Upon waking into the restaurant, hubby and I were warmly greeted by restaurant employee Jessica. I liked that vegan food options are labeled with a vegan logo and it is stated that foods with the icons is already vegan or may have a vegan option such as subbing spicy mayo and cheese for vegan spicy mayo and vegan cheese. After reviewing the menu, I ordered a vegan kimchi quesadilla with tofu as well as a vegan Korean bbq taco while hubby ordered super fries as well as tacos. Vegan protein options are tofu or avocado. Our food was brought out quickly and was hot and flavorful. Since I haven't had kimchi before, I had it on the side of my quesadilla. I was pleasantly surprised that the vegan spicy mayo wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. Hubby really enjoyed super fries topped with tofu. Having I liked the contrast in taste between the tofu and avocado tacos as well as how compact they were. After finishing our dinner at this restaurant with such delicious food and friendly attentive staff, we will definitely be back to explore more of their vegan food options.

Food was okay, but I was not a fan of my burrito at all. I had the Bibimbap burrito, which definitely is for others, but not for me. I felt like the flavors didnt go together making it tough to finish. The KBBQ started off strong, loved it spice, but toward the end the flavor were toooo strong for me. It felt like it was balanced throughout the burrito. Mushroom poppers were very delicious though !!

Overall- good, authentic food. Jalapeño was fresh and had a great crispy crunch. Definitely recommend that appetizer. The tacos were good. Chicken, spicy chicken and spicy pork. All great! The Cali burrito had nice flavors, but the fries were soggy and created a mushy mess. Wouldn't get that burrito again. Crisp up those fries and maybe it make a better burrito

First restaurant I've tried in Riverside, and wasn't disappointed! I was first introduced to Korean/Mexican fusion in college in LA so I was really excited to find something similar nearby. - Bibimbap burrito with spicy pork: Surprisingly not as heavy as it looks/sounds. It was loaded with veggies and all the flavors complemented each other so nicely. The fried egg was a nice touch. Spicy pork wasn't too fatty (or spicy). - Kimchichanga with spicy pork: My friend ordered this and I just took a couple bites, but it was really good! While it's definitely more on the indulgent side, the layer of fried batter is relatively thin. Tons of flavor. The spicy mayo drizzled on top was a little over kill for me and I felt like it took away from the other flavors, but overall really tasty. I definitely want to come back during happy hour to drive some of their other snacks. There's free 2 hour parking, but I'm sure if you stay longer they can validate for you. Pretty casual vibe, I could definitely see myself meeting up with friends after work for happy hour. Service was great and our waiter was on top of it with the water refills, which is always greatly appreciated.

I've always loved the food here. I'm obsessed with the super fries with spicy chicken, it's my go to! And we got to try the taco Tuesday, it was amazing. Service is great. Love the atmosphere there.

Came here for the first time and had a late lunch here with my daughter. We shared the mushroom poppers (small plate $4.50) and each had the spicy chicken teriyaki bowl. Servers were friendly and our orders came out fairly quickly. Pricing is reasonable and the food was delicious. I hoped the chicken would've been a bit spicier though :)

Ask the Community - Kimchichanga

When is happy hour?

Hello, Happy Hour is Monday - Saturday from 2pm - 7pm.

When will you guys be in your new building and serving us again?

They're open now!!! I just finished my Mexican pizza. The new place is absolutely beautiful.

Is the Kimchi burger good or bad?

I dig it. The kimchi isn't wicked overpowering. The deep fried hot dog and the sopes are legit too.

No…read morematter, it is under new ownership and the menu has been revamped with some Asian fusion food in addition to the Mexican food. We chose to sit outside on the patio because it was less stuffy and loud versus sitting indoors. I ordered asada Cali fries and some other members of my party ordered beer, cocktails, taquitos and various tacos. Some friends selected al pastor as their protein for their tacos, and were informed that it was not available. Then we had an above average wait time for everything. We were told the kitchen was out of al pastor meat, so they would sub some tacos with asada/chicken/etc.. Then we were told the al pastor meat was located, and our orders were restored. Then I received my Cali fries with al pastor meat, which I had not ordered. I observed other members of our party wait for very inconsistent periods of time for beverages. I recall some receiving complicated cocktails before a canned domestic beer. The food and drinks were well enough, once it all arrived. We did not mind too much because we were all going out to another bar in downtown Riverside afterwards. My Cali fries had some strong papas because they held up to the ocean of melted cheese they were drowned in. It was more like a caldo. A couple members of the party had issues with their bills and our server was responsive to correcting any pricing issues. There is no longer merch, a mural, art or vinyl records for decor but the new owner assured us that they are working to have another local artist paint a new mural. An average experience, not bad! It was a good place to hang out and chat with friends, as we were not in any rush.

Although they advertise taco Tuesday (1/2 price tacos) and a la carte tacos, we were informed these options were only available until 12pm. The taquitos were pretty bland with good guac. Tacos were again, average, with somewhat flavorless rice and beans. The highlight of the night was the service. Patrick at the bar was friendly and playful. The holiday cocktail was delicious. Due to living nearby, we will probably be back to try again when the new owners have more time under their belts. Happy eating Yelpers!

First Visit Experience…read more My wife and I tried Sushi R 91 in Riverside for the first time, and overall it was a good experience with a few areas that could be improved. I ordered the beef ramen, and the flavor was great. The beef tasted really good, and the broth had nice depth. I do wish they offered more condiments on the table so you can adjust the broth to your liking--spicy, savory, etc. My food took a little while to come out, but it ended up being worth the wait. The price was also a big plus: $13.99 for a bowl of ramen, a sushi roll, and a drink is a great deal. My wife ordered two rolls--the Salmon on Fire and the Caterpillar Roll. Both were tasty and comparable to what we've had at other sushi spots. We also tried the gyozas, which were average. Customer service could use some improvement. Our waitress wasn't rude, but she seemed rushed and tried to take our order almost immediately after we sat down. Since it was our first time, we needed a moment to look over the menu. Overall, the food and value were solid, but the service and small details could be better. I'd rate Sushi R 91 a 3.5 out of 5.

Check out the picture -- all three sizes are lined up together. And if you're thinking, "Okay, the boba must be cheap because it's low quality," think again. It was actually so good. The flavor was delicious, and the tapioca pearls were the perfect consistency: sweet, soft, chewy, squishy, and perfectly sunken to the bottom the way good boba should be. To be totally honest, my husband and I had walked in and back out of this place several times before finally trying it. The inside is very dark, and with the huge screen right when you walk in combined with the dark floors and tables, it's not the most inviting atmosphere at first glance. It could probably use a remodel -- but honestly, if remodeling means raising the prices, please leave it exactly as it is. We finally went in with friends, and the staff ended up being incredibly kind and polite. On top of that, they have a ton of add-in options: popping boba in different flavors, milk pudding, regular pudding, and so many other customization choices.
