    Good local breakfast place

The "Mexican scramble" was excellent. Very flavorful and well prepared. Love it when the eggs are moist and NOT brown, The chilis were tender and mild and the onions translucent and soft. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Both waitresses were playing across all tables, love it when that happens, it indicates good management. A very pleasant outing

My parents love it, they went few times in two weeks. The whole restaurant has a homey vibe, it's warm and lovely. Kinda give you a feeling of the 70'. The food test pretty good too. My dad said the steak is very tasty, but the day I ordered, it's a little bit overcooked. However, the whole experience is great!! I love it and would definitely visit again!

    Dry patty...

I ordered the country style patty and eggs, I regret it. It wasn't worth the price and the taste, it was so dry. I'll make sure to NOT order any patty or sausage items.

Usually I would go to the fullerton kimmies on Commonwealth, but tried this location in Brea. I was a little disappointed because ive found that the customer service has spiraled. I walked in with my mom, the lady says 'ohh, for two, ok you can sit there, pointing and not leading us to our table, so, we sat. She was at an empty table didnt look busy and didn even turn around after we sat down. The food was good, patty very salty but if you like salt(like I) its good. Another server came to assist, very nice, young girl, it wasnt until I asked who that other lady was, that they attended to us, the rude lady's name was Leah. While waiting for our food, Leah, welcomed customers (that looked like regulars) with a welcoming " Hi how are you, when did you get back from vacation". Like, we didnt get that welcoming. I did notice that the ethnicity she was welcoming were white vs my mom and I being mexican. While another customer came in, she also told him to sit at the counter, and she tossed the menu to the gentleman. Being a resident in fullerton my entire life , I have noticed a change in customer service in fullerton and now in brea. I wouldn't go again. However, the food was decent. Remember, customers are the reasons your business, we would appreciate that customer service is consistent with all customers not just being selective.

Came here with my girlfriend's family and as we rolled up on it, I knew I was in for an interesting visit. We walked in and it was an old-school cafe that looked like it used to be an antique store. It didn't have that smell, it just had that look that I've become accustomed to. Getting to breakfast: I chose to try the chicken fried steak and eggs, and i continue to look for the best one. This wasn't it, but it was good, crispy, good flavor and hash browns and eggs were good too. The Sourdough bread was really great, plenty of crunch and buttered perfectly. My girlfriend had the breakfast tacos, with freshly made salsa and sour cream with hash browns. She ate all of it and enjoyed the tacos. She took a slice of my toast and was happy as well with that aspect. The food came out fast and three different waitresses looked after us. I liked that it was a team effort at what i assume is a family run chain.

It was made with bourbon reduction, maple, hickory, sea salt, and of course, espresso & milk. Although I couldn't really taste the bourbon, all the other flavors were present from the sweet maple, smokey hickory, and occasional bursts of sea salt. Oh, and a great roast of coffee. This was a coffee drink I'd come back for again and again. The pastry case looked inviting but I was stuffed from lunch so passed. But dang, they amazed me with that smokey maple latte!

Philz Coffee is a wonderful addition to the ever-expanding Brea Mall…read more I've tried their Tiramisu Latte. Surprisingly super smooth for an iced latte. Rich and creamy tiramisu flavor with perfect balance of coffee flavor. Not powdery at all. I've also had their Iced Mint Mojito which is minty and refreshing with bold coffee flavor. My new favorite is their Campfire S'mores. Great blend of coffee & cream, marshmallow swirl, cinnamon, and cocoa flavor. There's also marshmallows on top but haven't actually eaten them as I usually just sip through their lid. Service has been great. Baristas are super friendly. Drinks would arrive within a few minutes. When they hand the drink, they'd tell me to let them know if the drink is perfect or how the drink is. They'll also ask if I would like a lid. There's plenty of indoor seating although usually packed with patrons. There's also a few tables outside. I love their coffee drinks. Will be back for another visit.

The Bottom Line Up Front: In a world filled with…read morecorporations masquerading as sophisticated boutiques, Philz is a growing chain that still retains a cozy atmosphere while serving up great coffee. I've been to other Philz, but this review will focus on this Brea location. The Drink: I got the seasonal salted caramel cold brew and it was delicious. Picture Starbucks' caramel macchiato but less sweet and with less acidic espresso. This Philz drink was smooth and creamy, with enough caffeine kick to keep me powered throughout the day. The Service: Our barista was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions and a couple of samples so that I could make the right selection. Grade A service! The Setting: Located in the new section of Brea Mall, this Philz location is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future). The Conclusion: As part of a franchise that doesn't act like one, the Brea location of Philz offers great coffee with excellent customer service.

Vanilla Thesis is the best better than probably all the rest…read moreThe coffee is so tasty Not nasty or pasty Their cheese and ham croissant is also bomb better than being made by mom One thing to note about this place, the parking sucks. But fear not, you can go into the structure, park in one of the "employee only" spots, and just tell them which spot and you're golden (wish I knew that before I came and parked across the street). Also, another reason why this place is great is that it's not full at all. Might be because of the parking situation, but the place is near empty which makes it have a nice luxury vibe. Their Vanilla Thesis drink at 50% sweet is soooo good. It's a great blend of coffee and tastes great. You can totally taste the vanilla. Their ham and cheese croissant is also great.

Discovered this beautiful coffee spot a month ago and fell in love with their seasonal drinks…read more(strawberry vanilla americano and strawberry cold brew) so we have been coming here as a special treat for ourselves and told and brought our friends. However, today's visit felt different. We ordered our usual strawberry coffee drinks but they weren't pink. When I asked the barista about it she said the syrup has changed. The drinks barely tasted like strawberry and we were disappointed. I immediately regretted upgrading my size to 20oz too. SO I looked up other recent yelp reviews, and I saw that someone posted a picture of their drink 17 hours ago and it was still pink. That makes me question what happened to our drinks.
