My husband and I were driving around trying to get our son to sleep and decided to go ahead and try a new breakfast place while we were at it. We saw the mixed reviews on yelp but decided that service was the main thing people were complaining about, so we went on ahead. Service: Woah. People were NOT kidding. Dine in service was bad to begin with and I should have expected it with online orders, especially with the current pandemic. But if I get a text saying my order would be ready by 10:50, and it's 11:20 now-improvements are needed. The whole point in ordering ahead and pre paying is so I don't have to wait for it with other people (people with no masks!) Just a bunch of privileged wealthy white people who, in my opinion should hire people with management skills. My friend worked in one of the restaurants, and could say they underpaid him from the tasks I heard they assign and no tips from in sight they expect the world when they deserve nothing. I had to see, so I had a meal here and the food is not worth it. Dry, bland, overpriced, n never nice. If you're looking for jobs or even a nice sit down place to eat, go elsewhere 2nd topic- Racism, really don't like to make everything about race especially cause everyone just loves to pull the card, but there was a moment I witnessed my friend get talked down to like an idiot cause they assumed he only spoke Spanish cause he was brown when they clearly heard him talking in English and didn't apologize for no reason. My guilt is a powerful emotion so I'm not generally a fan of diners. Nevertheless, I have found a way to eat to my liking at Kimmie's, which certainly serves diner breakfasts: omelets, scrambles, pancakes & waffles, biscuits and gravy. For me, I ordered a TOASTED ENGLISH MUFFIN and the FRUIT PLATE. The fruit plate is $1 more than the fruit bowl and I suspect a much better bargain. Prior reviews have suggested the fruits in the bowl are the cheap kind- like melon and grapes. The plate is is 8" in diameter and includes berries, which I think everyone will agree are the "nicer" fruits. Yes, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries. Oh and also canned peaches, honeydew, and grapes to round it out. I have to say that one side of my English muffin was probably more burnt than toasted but when covered by butter and a hefty schmear of Knott's jam, barely noticeable. While it is quite a cop out to eat a fruit plate at a diner, my meal is subsidized by his meal, which is too large and heavy to rightfully to be eaten by one person anyway. They serve a SAUSAGE PATTY and EGGS which features the most heavenly, hand formed sausage patty. It was griddled to a nice crust and had the perfect amount of spice and best of all, it was the size of a hamburger patty. God, I think about it continuously. Frankly, it reminded me of a McDonalds sausage, which I LOVE, but boasted a better texture owing to the quality of the grind. The meal comes with 2 eggs your way, potatoes/hasbrown/fruit, or biscuits/toast. It is a formidable feast. Oh and the waitresses exude a girl next door charm, if you're into that kind of thing. Let it be known I am a male Hispanic and an Law Enforcement Sergeant of 30 yrs. It makes my skin crawl when I read reviews on here, on how people don't want to use the "race card" yet that is the first thing that comes out of their mouth. In the 2 1/2 month I've been going to Kimmies I have NEVER been treated unfairly because I am Hispanic nor have I never worn my police uniform to eat there. The service has always been 5 stars. Those girls bust their asses all the time and run around trying to make sure peoples coffee cups are full, so if they don't smile when refilling my coffee or I have to wait a bit to have my order taken I DONT USE THE RACE CARD. Carrisa, Lea, Paula, Leslie, Brook and Cassidy are all great. So let's cut these lady some slack and learn to be more patient if not there's always McDonalds. The food is also awesome! If you're looking for amazing cinnamon roll pancakes look no further! These fluffy cinnamon pancakes are a real treat after a long week. However if you're looking for horrible service this is also your place! Waitresses rolled eyes as new customers appeared in the cafe. Blonde waitress was behind counter on her phone neglecting customers who were looking around to get attention. As I read other reviews on this page I am not surprised as to what others are saying. My friend and I sat at our table and were handed the bill seconds after our food was set down. Weird but okay right? No. Every 5 min the waitress kept coming to our table saying "no rush!" Extremely RUDE & PREJUDICE server! Our server was Betsy M. We asked for coffee, which tasted bitter, so we asked our server for a new cup of coffee. She brought us a new cup and we tried to explain to her that the previous cup of coffee didn't taste fresh. She raised her hands up in the air and said "all our coffee is fresh" with an attitude talking to us like if my boyfriend and I were two little kids! On top of all that she also got our order wrong! Not once did we get an apology from her. Working in the customer service industry, especially as a server, an apology goes a long way. The Servers are nice enough but can be short with you at times, and I don't like how they talk to the back of the house. Was off-putting. If it was all just joking around, I get it, sort of. A friend and I thought we would give this place a try, and what a mistake. The waitress with red hair and bob cut gave us an attitude the minute we walked in. She would look over and glare at us, and when I asked for a little more coffee she gave me a nasty look and walked away. I had to ask the other waitress for coffee. The service has never been great but it seems like it's gotten worse each time. They lack a warm welcome when their guest come through the door, not even an acknowledgment after making eye contact, which is so awkward to witness as you are waiting for a table. Hit or miss if they walk you to your table. Today I was told, your table is back there as she kept doing what she needed to do. The menus are underneath a glass table to prevent people from touching but it's one copy of each page so everyone at your table is leaning over one another to have a glimpse of the full menu... not a deal breaker but awkward when most places created QR code's. They have an app to make them and they are so easy to make and it makes it easier for guest to quickly view the entire selection of the menu at their finger tips. One thing to note is underneath the glass table was filthy with food and crumbs which means it's not cleaned often :( the food is great and the chefs are the real MVP's here. The waitresses on the other hand are just not happy, you feel like a burden to them. Even before the masks they hardly smiled, they are short when they speak to you and ultimately it's the tone in how they speak to you. I wish it was just one waitress but it is nearly all of them. I sadly I will find another small diner to frequent with the family. I will even pay twice as much to be treated like a person, not a king or queen but like you are happy to have customers that keep the establishment open. Ordered the OC scrambler. It was made perfectly: tons of mushrooms, chicken, cheese and tomatoes and very hot. It came with a side of toast or biscuits and gravy. Hands down one of the best breakfast places I've ever been to anywhere! The waitstaff is quick and very attentive. The portions are generous and the coffee keeps flowing.
