He'll dismount, inspect the entire wheel, pull the nails or shrapnels, water spritz test, plug it, and mount it back in less than 30min. Please don't go here. Take your business elsewhere. I came here for a tire patch and ended up being called "stupid, crazy" and other aggressive names by Kim. If anyone has been here before, his Apple Pay kiosk is very outdated so it did not work when I tried to pay. I offered to send the $30 for the patch through Zelle and he instead wanted me to call my bank. So I did, and even after hearing the representative tell him that no charges were even attempted on his end that they could see, he started yelling at me saying "you have no money" and wanted me to show him my account to confirm I had $30....literally $30. The fact that he thought it was okay to even ask to see my bank account makes no sense. Once again I offered Zelle as well as cash from the ATM and he told me "no, only Apple Pay" and said he would call the police if I tried to leave. Another customer heard the commotion and offered for me to Zelle him and said he would pay Kim. So I zelled the $30 to him....something I could have originally done with Kim but instead got yelled at and called out of my name. I purchased three tires about two weeks ago, and I thought that everything was fine. However, yesterday while on the freeway, the rubber from one of the tires stripped itself and I barely made it home. The rubber hit my side mirror and broke the glass, and also hit the front bumper and dislodged it. Two weeks! And it's not like I've done anything spectacular in that time-- the most wear my tires get is driving my roommate to work and back. I'm incredibly disappointed in the supposed "good" tires that I purchased, and I'm scared for the other two. This is a huge deal, not just a cosmetic issue, and I wouldn't recommend this place or these tires to anyone. EDIT: I went to the place to try and talk to the owner, and he not only yelled at me about how I didn't buy the tire from him and refused to replace it, but he also called me after the fact about a half hour later and continued to yell at and attempt to harass me over the phone. I went back and they then noticed a another leak they couldn't fix. So I bought a used tire and they didn't even give me a discount on the tire. I thought they should because they plugged it without even checking for other leaks. Bought four brand new tires they had problems with one rim for which they tried several times to install my new , since they are the experts, they finally realized that my rim was slightly bent. I took my rim to get it fixed when I brought it back in their attempt to put the tire back on. They broke my air sensor. And tried to put a used one laying around without me noticing. After I confronted him about it, he said that too much labor has been involved in putting the tire on that rim that they wasted a lot of time. After I told him about the sensor, he said that they have some for sale that it would cost me $120 for one and that if I pay for half they would do the labor for free. It did not sit well with me since we weren't the ones who broke it. So he said that if I go buy one or get one, he would install it for free so I did went to Lexus grabbed the OEM part came back and he installed it. He also said it needed to be programmed, and that would cost of money. After checking, all four sensors to check if he can program it he said two of the original ones were not functioning. So now he was trying to sell us three. At $120 each. This man is a shyster a liar and try to blame me for the broken sensor. He said it broke on his own, which was BS. We took our vehicle to Calderon tires on Bascom they checked the sensors programmed the brand new one and all the other ones were working fine $60. We were out the door. be careful going to Kims tires. I could not post this review unless I put at least one star on this they deserve none. read more

I felt really crappy and unlucky when I realize that I had a huge shiny nail on one of my tire that requires immediate attention. However, this place, Kim's Tire Outlet, just reversed all my negative feelings to ever-lasting pleasant feelings. Before talking about KTO, let me tell you how bad it was. I went to this store called 'Wheel Works' and they said they couldn't patch my tire because it's run-flat tire so they quoted me $253 for the new one. The price of the new tire is around $190 and labor charge plus other BS sums up to $253. Sigh...yeah...whatever. So I went on online to see if there is another option I could take. There I found KTO. On my way, to KTO, I got pulled over by a cop, telling me that I had a flat-tire. Sign...yeah...I know it, officer. I'm just on my way to tire shop. I totally freaked out again on top of my flat tire issue. Anyhow so I arrived KTO. This mom-and-pop store offered me an used tire at $58 including tax, labor fee, and recycling fee for my tire with the huge shiny nail on it. Here comes the biggest highlight. They actually finished it in less than 15 mins. I'm like..."Wow~~~'. The used tire I bought look shinier than the stupid nail on my previous tire and it looks like it hardly ever used. 'Wheel Works' had me wait for 3 hours to say they can't patch it (yeah...they were super busy when I came by) and this KTO place did everything I wanted them to do in 15 min with approximately $200 less than what 'Wheel Works' quoted me. Mr. Kim is one of the best in the business. I arrived to his shop around 545 pm after work and he was still helpful and replaced two of my rear tires on my mustang with no hesitation. Although, he closes at 6 pm he replaced my tires because of how damaged they were and dangerous it would be to drive on them. Picked these guys as the installer after ordering tires from Tire Rack. I prefer working with the smaller shops...they had a few good reviews. After a crazy mix-up with the delivery of the tires (to Kim's Tire Outlet), I decided not to give these guys my business and picked-up my tires and went to Tire Merchants in San Jose who were fast, courteous and at a great price. What happened? - My tires weren't delivered to the correct address (Kim's Tire Outlet). After calling between Tire Rack, the delivery service (OnTrac) and the owner of Kim's Tire Outlet (Kim himself), everyone was super courteous and helpful and resolved the delivery problem EXCEPT Kim. Kim was very rude via phone to me AND the Tire Rack rep when we were trying to track down my $800 set of tires. After the delivery was corrected, Kim leaves me a voice mail in broken English "hey, I have your tires". Terrible service. I picked-up my tires, went to Tire Merchants...paid $10+$2 disposal of old tires times four = $48 for installation and tire balancing. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. read more

This place has the cheapest tires in San Jose! I purchased a tire and two weeks later I came back for another one. Two days after that while riding on the freeway for the first time with the new tire, I heard a pop and lost control of the car. I began to drift and eventually hit a dirt patch and my car turned to a complete 360° turn. If it wasn't for my quick thinking and counter steering the car and the freeway being free of traffic, I would have lost the car and potentially have had a serious accident. The day after the accident, I went back to Kim's tire to explain the incident, and the owner immediately started to argue with me. He began to explain to me what he think actually happened with the tire. And even though the accident happened within their 3 day warranty, he belligerently told me he would not replace the tire. After arguing with me for over a 1/2 hour and tried to show me a legal document that I had not signed, which is illegal, I finally asked if I could at least get a discount on a tire and he did... $7 off. In the end it wasn't worth saving a few dollars. I would not recommend ANYONE go to this place, it's garbage! The worker there was super nice, though. The owner however was more worried about making a buck than keeping a client. Worst. Experience. Ever. read more
