Went to Monrovia to check out Kin Khao after passing by it many times as I drive down Huntington. There are not too many places that serve khao soi in the SGV so i knew I needed to visit sooner or later. They offer a free tea during lunch with your purchase and you have the option of thai tea or hibiscus iced tea. I ordered the khao soi with chicken and the drunken noodles with beef. The khao soi was rich and creamy from the curry. The noodles could have been more firm but it was still good. The chicken was juicy and meaty. The drunken noodles with beef had lots of basil and garlic inside. It was full of flavor and the noodles were slightly chewy. We ended the meal with a mango with sticky rice. The mangos were sweet and the sticky rice was warm and soft. Perfect way to end a yummy lunch. It was about $20 a person dining here which was not too bad.

First time here. Party of 2. Herbal Sausage appetizer - I was not a fan of the herbal flavor. Pork Shank over rice - The pork was cooked to perfection and everything in the bowl was delicious! Minced Pork over rice - The pork was only okay; nothing special with this dish. Overall, it was a nice restaurant with good service. The food was a little on the expensive side for what you get. Nothing really wowed me.

Been wanting to try this Thai restaurant for a while and finally made it here for lunch. We ordered pad see ew and boat noodle soup. Pad see ew is my husband's favorite dish and it's how he judges a Thai restaurant. It came out quickly and we like there's a sprinkle of pepper salt on the dish. However, there is a sour, tangy flavor in the pad see ew that we don't enjoy. The boat noodle soup tasted very heavy in soy sauce but lack depth in flavor. So it's mostly just saltiness. There is also a sprinkle of pepper salt on the noodle soup as well. Overall we found the dishes a bit underwhelming. The service was friendly. The staff were nice and they smiled and said thank you as we walk out of the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and pleasant.

Very nice Thai eatery, they have a limited number menus with photos so you may have to wait for another table to finish salivating over the pictures before you get your chance. Otherwise the experienced Thai eatery will know what the dishes look like. Our group of four ordered the Thai Omelet featuring both chicken and egg in one dish-think about that!! The Drunken Noodle was delicious but I was disappointed it didn't have more vegetables. Certainly there was room in the bowl for more of natures bounty. Green curry, always a favorite did satisfy our palate. Parking is easy in the big storefront lot.

This just became one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area! That beef massaman was amazing and loved the chicken massaman as well! The meat in both dishes were so tender and the flavor was perfect. The restaurant was clean and comfortable to sit in, service was awesome, and easy parking in the plaza.

We recently dined here and the service was super friendly and interior was clean. The menu is simple but has a nice variety of Thai dishes, some classics and some I had never seen before. We got the Mamas Tom Yum Noodle which had meatballs, shrimp, mushrooms and egg yolk. The noodles were springy and the ingredients were fresh. I wish the broth had a little more flavor besides the lime and was a smidge thicker but overall it was still a good dish and the presentation was nice. We also got the Massaman Beef curry which was a great thickness with the peanut butter and had a nice portion of beef that was tender. Paired with a scoop of rice, I think the overall portion was good. The Longan drink was not too sweet and tasted very similar to the canned which was nostalgic!

My BF saw some TikToks about this place so we decided to get it for dinner tonight. We ordered: - Thai Herbal Sausage - Chicken Manow - Ground Beef Pan Fried Noodle - Green Chicken Curry - Cha Yen (Thai Tea) Our favorites were the Thai Herbal Sausage and Chicken Green Curry. The sausage had great flavor and eggplant gave the green curry an added bonus texture. The Chicken Manow had good flavor as well. We liked the Ground Beef Pan Fried Noodle, but it was a little on the sweet side. I did like their Thai tea, it wasn't too sweet. All in all, their flavors are good and different than the usual orders we get a most Thai places. Their service was friendly. We just wish the portions were larger for the price we paid, especially the rice for the green curry. But this place is definitely worth the try!

Kin Khao in Monrovia is a must-try. Their Pad Thai is carefully curated and absolutely delicious--don't miss the subtle flavor of the mini toasted shrimp, which really takes you back to Thailand with every bite. The chicken satay is also very tasty, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On top of the great food, the staff is super friendly and welcome making the whole experience even better. Special food, warm service, and a place I'll definitely return to. Thank you for serving great food

Food tastes great! Their Chicken manow is the most unique with the citrus of the lime balanced by their sauce and the crunchiness of the fried broccoli. We had their boat noodle soup last time with a great flavorful broth and this time had their Pad Thai -- pretty standard but definitely tastes great and hits the spot! A little pricey but the food is nice overall!! Service is pretty quick and food comes out. They are a nice family run shop in the area! Generally a very well kept restaurant. We also tried their Longan Juice which tasted very similar to wintermelon.

Kin Khao is a hidden gem located in Monrovia and the sweetest thing is that it is family-owned. We have literally met the entire family and they are all so friendly. Unlike other Thai places we've visited, this restaurant focuses on homestyle cooking allowing us to try unique dishes we don't typically find on other menus. We love the Pork Shank Over Rice, Fried Chicken Over Turmeric Rice, and the Thai Boat Noodles. All of which are very flavorful. For dessert, don't forget the Mango Sticky Rice. The rice is sweetened and very fragrant compared to other places. Definitely a winner. Service is great and you get your food pretty quickly. Whenever we dine in, it's also very efficient. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

I had the chance to try Kin Khao. This Thai restaurant is different than others I've been to. Dishes that could be found here are ones you probably won't find at a regular Thai restaurant. The absolute standout dish for me was the chicken manow. It's unlike any Thai dish I had before. According to their site, it is "fried minced chicken with crispy Chinese broccoli, tomato, fresh lime, and creamy sweet and sour lime dressing". I ate it with some rice and loved it. I also really enjoyed their mango sticky rice. It definitely hit the spot :)

I stopped by last night for an impromptu dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how good their Pad-Sew was. It had great wok flavor. I could almost taste the fire (this is a good thing!). Service was really good last night. Our server was friendly and warm. Ambiance was casual. We also got the chicken wings and the beef jerky and the spicy ground chicken basil rice with egg again. Everything was delicious.

What soy sauce do they use? I'm celiac, and if they're using Golden Mountain Soya Bean Sauce, which is a true Thai sauce, I'm good. If they use kikkoman, which is Japanese, I go elsewhere.

On this visit, we decided to stop by for dinner, and it reminded me exactly why we've been coming back all these years. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Tom Yum Soup, and every dish was packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the Tom Yum had that bold balance of tangy, savory, and spicy flavors, and everything tasted fresh and authentically prepared. You can tell they've stayed true to their recipes over the years. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. We were not expecting such generous servings for dinner and ended up with plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day. If you're looking for authentic Thai food with generous portions, president Thai is a must try in Pasadena.

The decor is upscale, the plating is beautiful, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The food itself tasted very good. To be fair, all of that elegance appears to be included in the bill. Compared with most Thai restaurants, the prices are noticeably higher--probably 20-30% more, sometimes even beyond that. I wouldn't have minded paying the premium if the service had matched the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it didn't. The restaurant was busy, and our table seemed to be forgotten more than once. Our final dish took over 30 minutes to arrive. Nobody checked in, nobody explained the delay, and by the end of the meal we were mostly just staring at the empty plates wondering whether the last dish had entered a witness protection program. When the check arrived, reality arrived with it. Three dishes, one coconut drink, plus tip. Just as expected, the bill marched confidently past the $100 mark. Still, none of that was the most memorable part of the evening. The most memorable part began approximately three minutes after I left the restaurant. As I sat down in my car, I noticed a faint disturbance somewhere deep within my abdomen. Nothing alarming at first. Just a small warning signal. A diplomatic message from my digestive system. Then negotiations broke down. Halfway home, my stomach launched what can only be described as a full-scale military operation. Every traffic light became a personal enemy. Every red light felt like a direct attack on my civil rights. At one point, I was calculating whether it would be faster to continue driving or start praying. I barely made it home. And when I say barely, I mean that with a level of sincerity usually reserved for survivors of natural disasters. To be fair, I cannot prove the restaurant was responsible. Maybe I have a sensitive stomach. Maybe one ingredient didn't agree with me. Maybe fate simply chose violence that evening. What I do know is this: Very few restaurants have ever served me a meal that was followed by a genuine sprint to the bathroom. The food looked fantastic. The portions were generous. The decor was beautiful. But the service was disappointing, the prices were steep, and the ending was far more exciting than I had hoped. I won't be returning. As for the salad, I wish future diners the very best of luck.

We joined their waitlist on their tablet near their counter and we were seated within 5 minutes. Just like the other location in Rowland Heights, it's very busy on a Friday night! The restaurant overall is very clean except near the entrance due to high foot traffic. It's decorated with Chinese lanterns, cherry blossom, and bamboo trees placed in the middle of the restaurant. It almost felt like I was dining at a high end restaurant. It's significantly smaller than the other location, but the high ceilings give it a spacious atmosphere. There are plenty tables and booths. Be aware the booths do move easily when you get out of your seat. We were sat in the booth closest to their entrance which I didn't mind at first, but after a while the high foot traffic was distracting (maybe they could place a divider between the waiting area and the booth). Onto the food, pricing, and service: portion is generous and they are more affordable than the Rowland Height's location. I ordered the Bbq Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was easy to take off the bone. The fried rice was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish my plate (even though I wanted to) so I boxed the rest to take home. My husband got the Continental Fried Rice. A dish Banana Bay is well-known for. The chicken skin was crispy, the fried egg was yolky in the center, the sausages were soft, and the fried rice was consistent with my plate's. Service was great and the staff was attentive even during their peak hours. I gained a sense of relief when more than one waitress checked in on us periodically. Overall, my husband and I had a great first impression. We're already talking about coming back in the near future. Felt the portions were small and the dishes tasted burnt and too sweet. Found little burnt specks in our food making us wonder if they clean or use really old pans. The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served.
