One of worst Chinese buffets I've ever had. I like Chinese buffets for great value and selection, but this place is not it. Sometimes I just crave some salt and pepper shrimp, mushrooms, and little bit of everything. The taste is terrible for most of the stuff I got. It lacks flavor compared to the other Chinese buffets I've had. Place didn't feel that clean either. It's definitely catered more towards non-asians. It's been a while since we had lunch King Buffet at the Carson City location. When we entered the restaurant, the crowd was still pretty light but soon enough a steady stream of customers walked in the restaurant through our visit. The employees at the restaurant were very nice and efficient, they cleared our tables and topped off our drinks quickly and frequently. There was a good selection of food but it was a bit different from what I was used to but it was still pretty good and they had a good selection. Our 5-person party enjoyed a great many dishes they offered; I especially liked the two fish dishes in their buffet and all the seaweed salad I can eat from their sushi section. Came here with the family and friends. Everyone had a good time. The ambience was nice. We all caught multiple plates between the four adults and one for y'all. We pretty much tried everything. I really like the Mongolian barbecue was so good everything we could pick I chose lots of veggies and some shrimp of that protein. Having lived in the area for 15 years finally decided to try King's Buffet. We went on a Sunday, excellent fresh food. Enjoyed the sushi, all the seafood, the tasty noodles, my favorite dessert gindui and the mango jello. We have been back twice now and will continue to go there. Nothing spectacular but clean and restocked often. I was able to put together a decent plate of all proteins though I did pop a couple pieces of nigiri sushi on a second plate. A little on the bland side but this is an Americanized Chinese buffet so that's to be expected. Clean restaurant and my waitress refilled the water and cleared dirty plates as needed. Remember the Sriracha (Rooster Sauce) shortage? It was gone from the shelves and fetching $30 a bottle on ebay! Well, Sriracha has RETURNED! The real stuff, not the imitations from overseas. This is made in USA .... California. It back on all the tables of King Buffet in Carson City anyways. Great food and quite affordable for the variety and taste. The sushi selections were quite good and not overstuffed with rice. The variety shrimp selections were excellent and everything overall tasted quite good. The staff were fast at clearing up the plates from the tables and replenishing the buffet selections. This traffic sucks, so let's do lunch at a buffet! I couldn't tell it was Chinese by the name "King Buffet", but that's what it was. We just swing in and plenty of parking. There's even a Trader Joe's next door. I don't see any signs of what the price is, but how much can a Chinese buffet be? Oh, OK, it's $11.99 plus tax and tip for lunch. There's 2 steam tables with food and another table with sushi and another with desserts and a stir fry station. I see all the standard Chinese buffet foods, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, pot stickers, 2 kinds of steamed fish, green beans, fried chicken wings, plus many others. The food looked fresh at 11:30am at least. The guy was just making the sushi rolls. Sampling the wings ... I really love those fried wings! One great trick with the wings is scoop some of the sauce out of the General Chicken and put that on the fried wing ... yummers! The sushi was OK, the steamed fish was tender and the pot stickers were decent. Really, not a bad buffet as far as Chinese buffets go. I guess at dinner they bring out the seafood of crabs and shrimps, but not at lunch. The plates were cleared right away and water filled. Watching the people file in here, seems like half the landscaping crews come in here, I can see why, all you can eat food for about $11, then back out on the job. It didn't take long to get our fills, as there's no waiting lines, just walk up grab food and eat. I'll say buffets are a time saver if you just need food and get back to whatever you do. This place has become my and my boyfriends go to place when I'm hungry and want some Mongolian bbq on a budget. Legit that is the first thing I go to when I get there because it's my favorite part. You can choose between beef, chicken, and pork during lunch - dinner just adds shrimp as an option. Then they have broccoli, bean sprouts, onion, noodles, garlic, squash and I believe that's it. They also have a sushi section which isn't the best but isn't horrible either. I'll eat a few when I'm there. There's some more basic things - chicken wings, chicken skewers, ceviche, egg drop soup, chow mein and rice. All in all I enjoy there options. As for the service - I've never had an issue. Generally they sit you down, someone gets your drinks and you'll have a few people who rotate around grabbing plates and refilling drinks. During lunch it's much quieter than during dinner. Once time we went during dinner on a Friday and holy moly. Anyways, rating a 4/5 because it is still buffet food and some things are mediocre. read more

I went in there on Wednesday, June 11th 8:20pm went to take out my girlfriend to celebrate her graduation, we got there and asked for a booth ( I'm a 6ft guy on the heavy side ) they clearly had booths for bigger people cause I saw people with the same body build as me and they decided to sit me on the smallest booth possible with what seemed like a booster seat, felt really uncomfortable to be there. We then proceeded to go get food, I got the dinner shrimp with some other stuff that looked appealing, when I started taking the shrimp shell out I noticed it wasn't cleaned because it had poop and wasn't devained they js cook it the way they receive it, and around 10 mins after they gave us our tab. Really pissed me off could not enjoy the food had a server staring at us so we just went to pay the tab and the lady was being rude and in a way demanding a tip said " everyone likes to leave tips for the busser . Just moved recently from SETX to Carson City. Due to all the casinos and their restaurants, Chinese not to mention buffets are lacking to say the least. We decided to try King Buffet, as IT IS THE ONLY ONE!!! Money wasted and the food was subpar. Never ever will we walk back into this establishment. They had staff standing around that understood 0 english. So much for asking about items that we saw on the pictures, but they had nothing like it on their buffet line. Three staff members all worked hard to keep the buffet clean, picked up food off the ground, then grabbed washcloths to wipe down, serve checks to customers, refill sodas and NONE of them washed their hands once in the hour I was there. When you first enter the King Buffet here in Carson City NV you're hit with a dirty fish tank. As you go further into the main restaurant you get dingy dated tables. The buffet itself is limited. The majority of the food is over cooked except the fried items which are so undercooked it's sad. The egg-flower soup is greasy so if you like vegetable oil it's perfect for you. If you like the smell and taste of sewage the hot and sour soup is best for you. The best thing that could happen to this restaurant is a grease fire but we all know that's never going to happen especially when the oil they use for frying isn't hot enough to make food correctly. 1000% do not recommend.
