Combo over rice
Mike A.

Pretty quick service! Ordered combo over rice, it was lamb and chicken over rice (go figure!!!) and I got it with a pita - now I assumed the pita would be on the side or something but they diced it up and put it in the meal which was different. Well seasoned meat and good rice m. Had a drizzle of..... something over it. I don't think it was tzatziki nor do I think it was ranch. Honestly no clue but it was tasty enough! I was quite hungry heading in to this and I left well sated.

Ugly building but beautiful people and delicious food! Jesse and crew at King Gyros are the best! Make sure to get the Combo Over Rice! It's chicken and gyro on a bed of rice with a salad and tzatziki ranch on top. So good! I like to get a side of regular tzatziki with it. The regular gyro and gyro burger are great too! I've never had anything bad and I've been going regularly since the new owners took over 2 years ago.

Very good food. Very good service. I got polish sausage and fried mushrooms. Two things you cannot get at most fast food places, so I'm happy!

Get MORE in Mooresville at King Gyros! Was en route to Indy airport and had a detour to this small town nearby, where we found a good lunch spot! Looked like a converted fast food restaurant now offering Greek Gyros (carved off a rotating spit) and other menu items. Overall a 3.5 rating for their large gyro sandwiches, value priced meal at ~$7-10pp. We're gyro fans, so to find a place that gives you a large sandwich with tasty fresh sliced gyro meat off the spit, feta cheese, tomatoes, onion and tzatziki sauce hit the spot! We also ordered a gyro plate which was just as generous in portion for the price. Restaurant is casual, counter service friendly, great to sit and enjoy your meal outdoors. Food and service get high marks, the restaurant decor was average, but nice to have outside tables to eat on a splendid day! Check out King Gyros if stopping in Mooresville. Enjoy!

I did see they allow you to make reservations on Open Table, so I booked it for a weekday to try it out. It wasn't nearly as busy as the parking lot looked, there was plenty of seating. It was a nice day so they had the windows open and they also had someone playing live music so it was a tad loud but, not overly loud where you can't hear your conversation. The menu is not your typical menu, it's very crafty if that's a word. The service was very good, and she explained the menu well and we took her up on her recommendations. Turkey pastrami which I had never had before. It tastes really fresh and felt healthy. The salad comes in a little small bowl but full of goodness. It's a really nice place for a girls night out, or a family dinner. Wouldn't consider it a good place for date night as it is pretty loud.

Helpful guidance on menu choices and super attentive without being a bother. The room and bar are handsomely decked out, with comfortable, well-spaced tables and banquettes and booths. Makes for a fun setting. The food is seasonal and local -- lots of corn and squash this time of year. The chicken roulettes are excellent, as was the beet salad with Calabrian honey and whipped feta -- a nice sweet/hot combo. The steak frites was perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested, and accompanied by scalloped potato fries. Don't miss the desserts, either. The sweet corn creme brûlée with popped sorghum was totally new to me and delish. The chocolate medley was also excellent. Kudos for well-made cocktails too. Great experience and 100% different from everything else in town. A little NYC in IN.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.

Pretty much everything from the middle "shared plate and veggie" section. My wife and I split a super rich and tasty lamb bolognese. Again, the star of the show was the service and welcoming environment. It's just nice that they also performed on a stage of superbly prepared edibles. Would go again with a big group and maybe get a sitter so we're not leaving a trail of american cheese bits leaving an extra large tip to offset the accidental middle American Hansel and Gretel vibe.

The parking lot tailgating before dinner is half the experience. Where else can you sip a drink next to a pickup truck, make friends with complete strangers, and then walk inside to eat a meal that makes you question every life choice that led you to lesser restaurants? The food is absurdly good. The famous Perkinsville Pork deserves its own state holiday.
