    60. Pho Tai, Nam and Bo Vien

One of the best pho broths we've had along w the best value in the city!! I've been coming here over the last 3 years and have loved how flavorful the broth is and how great depth it has, but i have noticed that their meatballs are bit on the tougher side now. Everything else was enjoyable! Overall 8/10

Stopped by for a quick dinner one night and ended up with an absolute monster of a pho bowl. I got the Pho Nam and a coke for about 15 bucks. The pho broth was a bit on the sweet side (which is my preference). Luckily, like any good pho place, there's sriracha and chili paste on the table for you to mix in. I do wish there was even one more slice of lime to go with my gigantic bowl but I'm nitpicking here. The servers were quick and friendly, and the interior was really nice too. Definitely a great pho spot to visit.

    Spring and egg rolls

King Pho was pretty good. I had one of their noodle bowls and I was not disappointed. My friend got the omelette. Presentation was beautiful. Both of us weren't really feeling the soup vibe. For appetizer we had the spring rolls and deep-fried egg rolls. The egg rolls were very good. Best out of all pho places yet! For dessert I had the lychee mango boba tea. That was delicious too. I like how the tops are sealed and ready for travel. I regret having to mention this but I would strongly recommend that if you have to use the facilities, that you do so before you come here. First of all, the door is hard to lock on the ladies restroom. Then the girl in front of me didn't flush because she was either grossed out by how you flush this kind of toilet or she just didn't know how. I had to flush before I could use the toilet. But this toilet has that button on the back divided in half that allows you to choose the kind of flush you want. You push down. Unfortunately my experience doesn't stop there. I noticed immediately that there was no toilet paper. I had to go and didn't want to waste time getting a staff member to help me. There was a ladder in the hallway just outside the bathroom that allowed you to climb and reach a fresh roll of toilet paper. I managed to partially climb the ladder and reach a new roll. Once I finished, I went to wash my hands and there was no soap in the dispenser. I had to wash my hands after all that with water. They don't have paper towel, just a disgusting air dryer so I had to use more toilet paper to dry my hands. Thank goodness my early dinner companion had hand sanitizer!! The restaurant is also now carpeted and the beautiful wood floors no longer exist. Anyway, I'm not coming back here. I rarely say anything about bathrooms but this needed to be addressed. The food I give a 7/10. It was okay. I have had better pho.

I like this place. They're so fast with the orders. Food is great. Place is chill and there's always plenty of seating. The people are friendly.

I came to King Pho on a Monday evening for dinner after some friends recommended it. There's some free parking in the back of the restaurant but the lot is small. There were a few other diners but maybe 25% of the restaurant was occupied when we went. We weren't sure what to expect since some of the other Yelp reviews mentioned poor service. However, we got our food pretty quickly and the service was decent. I had the bun bo hue and hubby got the pho dac biet. For both our dishes there was plenty of meat but we both wish there were more noodles. The bun bo hue was perfectly spicy and flavorful. We also both got an avocado smoothie but they forgot the boba in my husband's drink but it was quickly fixed after he pointed it out. We would come back if we're in the area but probably will try a rice or dry noodle dish next time.

The best server there is.. 10/10 server
    David B.

The chicken pho was rich and comforting, the shrimp spring rolls were fresh and perfectly wrapped and huge, and the Vietnamese coffee had that bold, sweet kick. The lava flow smoothie? A tropical dream. The place is spotless, stylish, and runs like clockwork--but let's talk about Mark. Not only was he incredibly attentive and friendly, but he had the kind of charm and smile that could make anyone order extra. Fast service, great food, and a server who makes the experience even better? Definitely coming back!

    Combination Pho. Beef, beef tendo

Ownership of this restaurant changed in 2022. The menu was simplified and only Vietnamese food is offered. The Pho sections are priced at $11 or $12 for the bigger combinations. I only order the pho. The soup is flavorful. Mint, sprouts and jalapeño peppers are served to add to the soup. Soup came steaming hot as it should be. The dining room is big and not crowded. Service was quick and food came quickly. There's there is parking in the rear. It is a little convoluted to get there with a one way alley but there is usually space. Street parking in front is by Park Chicago but is not too bad. I come here after running to load up on electrolytes and collagen (tendon). I think the menu has changed for the better.

Street parking in the front or lot parking in the back. Kind of confusing where you can park in the back but it's free. The inside is very spacious, 10-20 tables seating arrangement possible. The staff were very friendly and patiently waited until we figured out the menu. The pho was soooo good. Not overly salty, but still somehow very flavorful. All the meat were so tender and perfectly done. All the veggies were also very fresh. The potstickers were fried very well, light and airy. The Vietnamese coffee was also really good, very concentrated flavor of bitter, sweet and creaminess. Bun bo hue was also really good, not as spicy as I was afraid it would be. The blood chunks were done very well but I'm just not a fan unfortunately. All the other stuff inside were superb. Definitely would come back to try Banh Xeo and Banh Mi.

    54. Pho Steak, Tendon, Tripe
    Tiffany T.

I ordered the egg rolls appetizer and the pho with steak, tendon, and tripe (#54) I liked the pho! The broth was hot and hearty. The beef, tendon, and tripe were yummy, and everything tasted great together. The egg rolls were good too! I didn't expect them to be so filling, but they were delicious! My favorite thing about them was the taro filling. It added a unique and good flavor to the egg rolls. Even though I did not get anything vegan, I love that King Pho offers vegan options. I just wish the menu in the restaurant was similar to the online menu. The online menu had more details about which dishes could be made vegan.

    Monty W.

Solid choice for Vietnamese noodles. The space is nice and open and could accommodate larger groups nicely. The a/c could have been a bit cooler as it was one of the hotter/humid days of the summer, but acceptable. We had the tendon, brisket and tripe noodle soup which was a big hit. The soup was flavorful, complex and had so many different flavors going on in it. Also ordered a side of extra noodles $1.5 which definitely needed as my family shared the dishes together. The vermicelli lemon grass pork salad was a really filling serving size and had a blast of flavor from the fish sauce dressing. Perfect for a hot day dish. Wish the spring rolls could have been cut to smaller size to make it easier to eat as I mixed the noodles together. The food was good and a big plus is that there is parking in the rear. This is one where I'll be back.

    Liz H.

The pho comes in a large bowl and the veggies are fresh and crisp. Healthy and good tasting food. Service was good. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Over all I like this place. I can't speak on the Bobba drinks since we didn't order that but the pho is good.

Bahn xeo to go - not as crispy but still good
    Gerry T.

Shame on me!! Been here way too many times for this to remain just 4 stars. I was the Baron per Yelp, in these parts, don't know what that means exactly but it was due in part to checking in here so many times. My favorites remain and they are: - Bahn Xeo, which is like a crispy egg omelette with veggies and pork and shrimp. You wrap it protein style in a lettuce leaf. Comes with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Both Healthy and yummy - the crab Rangoon, although the last batch seemed to have less cheese?? - the numerous bun (Vietnamese word for noodles) bowls. I usually pick beef, pork or shrimp for my protein There's a small parking lot out back, there's street parking out front on busy Devon. It's also BYOB so I usually bring an assortment of craft beer and cider. The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings, and a lot of natural sun light, which makes it a nice place to enjoy a meal.

Crispy chicken wings with caramelized fish sauce sounded adventurous but tasted familiar. These were definitely good but they're not mind blowing so I would probably skip them to try other things if you're on the fence. Oysters were so delicious but I hardly ever think they're not. Wagyu with lemongrass and a chili sea salt was simple but tasty. The grilled eggplant was yummy, paired with pickled shallots, fried garlic, and scallions. Definitely a good one for eggplant lovers like me. The veggie curry was good but probably the least favored of everything we had and couldn't finish it. But we made room for a little dessert! We went with the whipped rice pudding but had it without peanuts because I'm allergic. We didn't really enjoy it much. It was kind of bland and I'm guessing it might be because we omitted the nuts. It was sad to finish on a weak note.

Seeing as we once lived together on a Clark Street, why not dinner on this N Clark St? Following my clinical parallel park job, we entered this theatre of dreams. I'll recognize upfront my bias for sloped ceilings, but this spot ticks that interior box. Sierra Mist colored lighting to make the drinks hit harder and fake skylights that unironically went crazy. Not to mention, this Croatian meets Vietnamese love story was jamming Americana all night long. Soon enough I was white-knuckling the table to keep my cool as the medley proved to be somewhere between erotic and nostalgic. One could rescue a newborn from a burning building and it would pail in comparison to the respect our waitress lavished onto us. Reason being, this lovely lady spent the entire night responding with "yes chef" to any of our interactions. In all fairness, it's understandable to assume our party of mustached men were chefs. Heck, one of us got a diet cola, isn't that a tell too? I say all this to make known the cult status that woman will have in my heart till I breathe my last breath. As for the menu, what a divine collaboration. Sequestered into some back pages lay a section for Balkan fare that served as a platform for the married-in man to showcase his swagger. Truth be told it's this food selection that brought me in and that red pepper spread that makes me stay. This skilled in-law got even more time to shine on the beer list, with my dark Bosnian beer showing every reason why. Tasty lil thing. All things considered, this is still a Vietnamese restaurant. Pho did its thing and embraced the mega serving size stereotype it so firmly holds, but it cannot sit in the poll position here. When I arrived, there was only one other table dining, which made it GREAT for me. It's a decent size hall with 10+ table arrangements, making it pretty great for a group to enjoy their lunch. It also featured a couple of kiosks for ordering, which I thought was a bit easy to miss, since it was tucked away in the left corner when you walked in. It looked like there was also a cashier available to take orders, if you miss the kiosks. I've seen places where they simply do not have anyone at the register to take orders, but that wasn't the case for Lotus. Before deciding to visit them today, I had an impression that their menu choices were very limited compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I was used to. I'm certainly not complaining, since I'm usually a huge fan of select "specialty" approach in restaurants. That's why I decided to order one of their Bahn mi, where I normally would have chosen pho for my first visit. And it didn't disappoint. First off, the size of the sandwich was good. I've had it where they charged a buck or two less, but they weren't big enough to be a full "lunch" portion. Lotus' size, I thought was decent. I had ordered one of their cha gios just in case the sandwich failed to fill me, but I think I would have been okay without it. Cha gio was super good tho! Oh, and the iced V-coffee was good, too. Typically, they'll bring out the coffee before your meal is ready, probably because they're ready-made in the morning and all you'd need to do is pour them over ice. I of course, have known legitimate mom n' pop places, where they'll actually bring out coffee as it's brewing in Phin (stainless steel coffee filter) and a glass of ice with condensed milk, so you can wait for the coffee to finish brewing and pour yourself one, which is what I *always* prefer. Not here, but no big deal. You can usually tell how good the food is going to be by trying their iced coffee. Even though V-coffee isn't known for using "incredible" beans, the balance of the strength of coffee and condensed milk *does* make a big difference in your experience. I felt this place had it correct! I'll definitely come back myself and even bring coworkers or my family to have their Bahn mi again. What I'm not sure about is whether I want to try their pho or bun. First, they don't offer too many variations, so I'm stuck choosing from just a few. (For example, I usually go for "brisket-only" or a combo of brisket and rare steak, but they didn't seem to have those options. Granted, it's possible they'll make it happen if I asked) Secondly, I think they're a couple bucks more expensive than what I would like to pay for a bowl of pho. We'll see.

I didn't try the hot pot, but the group one table over had it. Speaking of the other group, so many varied entrees came out of the kitchen - it was cool to see more than just phở. The waitstaff is quick... almost to the point of impatient! But never problematic. Be aware that dishes fly out of the kitchen as they are ready. One bowl might come out way before the others.
