Nice, roomy place with a lot of tables. Nicely decorated. Not many big tables. Excellent roast pork, roast duck, soy sauce chicken, char siu... They have dim sum and coffee and tea drinks. One can do breakfast, lunch or dinner here. All sorts of food for each meal. Had a great time and the food was delicious. They have a big selection of clay pots, stir fried noodles, rice dishes. Peking ducks are specialty here. Head there is free parking too!

I've come to realise that their strength is in BBQ meat and not the dishes, so I order BBQ meat mostly. They do offer many other dishes and there's something for everyone, so it's a good choice for a medium sized group.

We got take out of the roast pork and roast chicken. And wow definitely one of the best ones I've tried! The roast pork had a delicious flavor, I didn't even need to dip it in any sauce it was so flavorful. It had a good lean/fat ratio. And the roast chicken was very lean. No fat whatsoever. Really enjoyed both of these dishes!

My wife and I got takeouts Friday night. The restaurant was pleasantly crowded. Our orders did take some time to come out. She ordered beef with bitter melon, and I got "som bo fon" or 3 meat dish over rice. We both felt the dishes were average. I did not dislike the food, nor did I really enjoy the food. The prices were reasonable. Based on the food, I give this restaurant 3 stars.

The hanging roast ducks is what brought us in but the interior was surprisingly beautiful! It was a cold morning that December and was grateful when the server seated us much further in so it would be warmer. With our party of four, we were a little over ambitious with what we ordered * Hoisin & Peanut Sauce Rice Rolls $6.25 - I enjoyed this as we don't get it very often. * Roast Duck on Rice $11 - We got three orders of this - one for each person. * Combo of Roast Duck and Crispy Roast Park on Rice $11 plus 25 cents This was our first meal of the day and these portions were very generous! We all had leftovers, especially since we ordered the rice rolls. In retrospect, we could have gone with 2-3 orders of roast duck and been fine. So on that note, it was a great value to us! I noticed many people order their clay pot dishes which looked quite delicious. And the hanging Chinese donut is a sight to see for sure! We also returned a few days later to get a few orders to go for our flight out. It was a bit messy though as the duck juices did leak all over the plastic bags during security screening. (In retrospect, we should have made sure the bags stayed upright the whole time.). Nonetheless, it was a great meal at the airport or would have been during our flight but we were hungry.

Please note that although it says "free parking" on a poster in front of the restaurant, there is a minimum $60 which is no where seen in fine print on the poster advertisement. I would recommend getting the bbq (cha siu, duck, chicken options).

First time trying Kings Kitchen and from my understanding this is the first location in Queens. There are other locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn which have been open for decades. Loved the modern decor of this location compared to the rest. We decided to get BBQ pork, fisherman congee, and wonton with country braised duck over flat rice noodles. The BBQ pork was succulent and had a fantastic sweet glaze. The congee was filled with seafood, even fish fillets which was a nice surprise. The noodle soup broth was pretty bland and my first choice would have been roast duck but that was unfortunately sold out. The braised duck was recommended as a substitute which seemed fine but in hindsight since the fat wasn't rendered off the skin, it was quite fatty and oily. The roast duck would've been the better choice. The wontons were mediocre as expected. This restaurant gave me the feeling of Red Bowl which was the staple late night fare in Flushing in the past with a similar menu and they are open until 2am.

I stopped by to pick up takeout and ordered the Sichuan spicy stir-fried chicken again, along with a whole roast duck and the stir-fried crispy carp. The only downside was that the fish portion could have been a bit larger, but everything was absolutely delicious. The ladies at the front were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Next time, I'm definitely coming back to try the Pipa duck.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7 Decor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 6 Let me start off by saying that I love both King's Kitchen in Brooklyn and Chinatown, therefore. i was very excited to see a branch open in Flushing. Sadly, this location does not live up to the reputation. The decor was nice the service was fine. However, the food portions and quality left a little to be desired. Preserved Meat Clay Pot Rice (6/10) - We came for this item, but it was disappointing. The clay pot felt small and the rice was too crispy, almost hard. Not just the bottom as expected, most of the rice was too hard and hurt the jaw. The preserved meats were okay, but only two kinds. Triple Roast Meat Combo (6.5/10) - Best of the bunch might have been the roast duck. The scallion chicken was not traditional, but flavorful. Unfortunately both came with mostly bones, which makes this order quite expensive. Lastly, the roast pork came way too lean, especially when we requested specifically for the meat to be not too lean. Beef Chow Fun (6/10) - The noodles were somewhat light in flavor, lacking in wok hey, and some of the beef was way too chewy. What I liked was that there were plenty of bean sprouts. However, it needed more red onions and chives. Dried Shrimp Steamed Rice Roll (8/10) - Unanimous best dish of the night. Smooth and just the right thickness, perfect consistency. The flavor was great too. Maybe needed a tad more soy sauce. I'll give it a few more months for them to work out their kinks and come try again. Hopefully I can update this review at that point.

[Project Hong Kong Milk Tea - King's Kitchen] {Seeking the best Hong Kong Milk Tea in NYC} Grade: 73 of 100 Worth Trying : 3 out of 5 Craving for HK tea in a cold winter day to a point my nose became sensitive to drive my legs to find the closest place the offer HK milk tea. Yes! A Cantonese congee, bbq, casserole restaurant (This is so HK, when one signature dish is not enough). The Milk Tea. It has good aroma. The color looks good and it tells me they are using the right tea leaves and evaporated milk. There was a strong bitterness texture yet somewhat light in its body. My educated guess is either the portion of the fine and coarse grinds differentiated its body and texture. I tried to compare the tea with the "free" tea that offer upon searing. The "free" tea indeed has stronger body than the paid one. Perhaps, the tea can be improved by trying the proportion of the leaves and brewing time. Well, this is a congee restaurant. Certainly I also order my favorite, Stockfish and Peanut Congee and plain rice roll. I like the crispy flake that bought a lot of my childhood memories in HK. The conference itself stayed creamy for a slow eater like me. Good job. The rice roll is smooth and tender, and the soy sauce is a perfect match. About the ambiance, although the food I ordered are something found everywhere in Hong Kong, probably with a way lower price. I am still satisfied that the decor made me feel I am in a fancy fine dining restaurant in Central, HK. Well Well Well, I think it is better they hire a hostess. I stood there for about 5 minutes and I don't know where to sit. I saw two customers seemingly frequent ones walked by me and sat themselves. Finally, somebody spotted me and seated me. They seems so focused on the take out order which compensated the service from the dining hall. It will be much better and worth the price if there is fine lady hostess in Qi Pu (Traditional Chinese Dress). Do be aware of more male customers will be coming for the hostess thou Calvin 奇雲 PS. Added old photos from the first time I came here. The Fried dough is awesome and so cool for pictures

I'm surprised by the low reviews! I thought the food was delicious for its price point. When ordering, stay away from the larger dishes and order their clay pot rices, rice rolls, and other smaller dishes. All of the small dishes we ordered were so delicious! The fried dough (youtiao) was the showstopper. I've never had such a fresh version and I'd say this is a must. Their larger plates (seafood soup and cabbage vermicelli) were just okay and we probably wouldn't order again. Instead, we'd rather order more clay pit rice bowls or rice rolls. Interior is also clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely come back.

Read so many bad reviews, but still decided to give it a try... first off the place was really clean. Was seated right away, and given tea. I ordered the roast duck and soy chicken over rice. WOW wow wow!!! 10/10 the garlic sauce over give it an amazing taste. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. Definitely recommend it

Rice Rolls with Dried Shrimp and Chair Siu Rice Rolls
    Sam Y.

3.5 overall Ordered for takeout. They are conveniently located on Main Street by the subway station. There was a small line on a Saturday morning. They mostly speak Chinese. Rice Roll with Dried Shrimp was packed! It is more cilantro flavor than dried shrimp flavor, but still good flavors overall. The rice roll has a good texture and thinness. Char Siu Rice Roll was also packed. The char siu had pretty good flavor! It does not really need extra soy sauce. You Tiao was huge! It is crisp outside and soft inside. Super oily though, even after dabbing it with paper towel, so not for me. I could only eat one bite. Wonton Noodle has good noodle texture. The soup compliments the noodles. The wonton has good pork filling, but no shrimp, which I prefer in my wonton. Note: no tax with cash Will have to try the roasted meats next time!

The staff wanted my wife to sit at an angle to the table; so that they could pass through. The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I paid more than $400 for three people. But we had a Tiger Fish which is $50 per pound.

I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.

That'sghosts. Real gastronomy is about energy, precision, and respect for the ingredient.ls. And here, in a cavernous banquet hall in Queens packed with hundreds of people clinking teapots and hailing steam carts, there is an absolute purity of discipline. I sat down, and within thirty seconds, the assault began. First came the Siu Mai. Look at the structure. Most chefs get lazy they pad the filling with filler, turn the pork to rubber, and overcook the shrimp until it loses its soul. But here? You bite through that paper thin yellow wrapper, and there is an unmistakable, violent snap of fresh, sweet prawn bound with perfectly seasoned pork. It's juicy, rich, and utterly balanced. No nonsense. Just technique. Then, the Har Gow. The true test of any dim sum kitchen. If the translucent skin sticks to the bamboo steamer or tears under your chopsticks, the kitchen has failed. Period. But when the basket opened, the steam rose with that clean, pure scent of rice starch and sweet seafood. The pleating on the dumpling was flawless tight, delicate, holding together a filling of whole, pristine shrimp that tasted like they were swimming an hour ago. And the atmosphere? Pure theatre. The carts weave through the room like a well-drilled brigade during a Friday night rush. The giant LED screens blaring event packages in gold and crimson, the hum of conversation, the crack of crispy pork belly skin three tables over, it's alive. Most people come to places like this and just see a crowded room. I see conviction. I see chefs back in that kitchen who understand that simplicity is the hardest thing to master. You cannot hide behind a fancy reduction or a sprig of chervil here. The dumpling is either perfect, or it's garbage. At Royal Queen, it's extraordinary. Pure, unadulterated passion on a bamboo steamer. Perfection.

They're light but very distinct. We don't eat too much sodium or processed food in our diets so we were able to distinguish each one. I actually liked the Scallop and chicken ones. The gourd one was really sweet but I could definitely taste the melon flavor. Chicken was savory and a touch better than the pork XLB...the scallop one was very unique. Light but very yummy. L said the crab one actually had more flavor than other restaurants in Chinatown. And we both prefer these to the ones at Din Tai Fung. Price isn't an issue but taste wise this has a ton of soup, more flavor. DTF tastes almost like a frozen XLB cuz it's so small and doesn't have any soup!
