Yassine and Adam were attentive, accommodating, and treated my celebration as though it were the only event happening in the restaurant. In reality, they were managing several other parties, but we never felt overlooked or rushed. Our head server, David, deserves special recognition. It included a 3 course meal with no drinks at all for $180 per person after tax and forced 22% gratuity. I've been known to tip beyond that at times but for 22% you better deliver. Ordered a bottle of Peju Merlot for $80 ($105 after tax n tip) this was the only good thing I had and I selected it myself, without any sommelier nor help from the "waiters" First course: Lobster chowder. It came cold and under seasoned. We had a party size of 22 people, not one liked it. Second course: Choice of ribeye steak, Mediterranean branzino or fried chicken. I went with the steak. It just flat out wasn't good. Period. Not one single person liked the steak. Multiple ppl got the wrong steaks cooked to the wrong temperature. Mine did come out medium rare as I requested, but it was an amateur level steak. In the hierarchy of Houston Steakhouses, this is bottom tier. Those that had the branzino, didn't like it either. Small little underwhelming portion. The chicken looked great. However, the ones that ordered it said it had chicken nugget consistency inside. Third course: Choice of cobbler (unspecified) or chocolate cake. I went with the cobbler. It ended up being apple, and terrible. It was essentially a big dry biscuit with a few warm apple slices and ice cream on top. It was dry, and 90% breading. The chocolate cake the people got was good. Again, this was $180 per person before adding any drinks. The service which got an auto gratuity of 22% was lackluster, mixed up orders and had ZERO personality. They were equally as bad as the food. Who owns this place? Who runs it? Asking for a friend, so we can avoid all other restaurants you're associated with. This wasn't one "negative" experience that ruined the meal. It was an accumulation of everything falling short. Not only do I not recommend Georgia James, I would highly encourage dining elsewhere. At this price point, there are way too many better restaurants on all levels in Houston.

We were seated outside and it was quiet for the most part with a good environment to eat. We started with the crab beignets and spinach dip. I can say the dip was really good. The beignets left some to be desired. Its not quite what we were expecting. Think more boudin ball vs beignet. The chili sauce that came with it definitely livened it up. We also ordered the smoked old fashion and the espresso martini(not the one with tequila) both solid drinks. The espresso martini is potent in a good way. The old fashion was made correctly and the smoke was a good addition. Next we had the chicken royale and the Hawaiian ribeye. The chicken royale was really good. The potatoes were creamy and flavorful, the chicken was very good and had good flavor. Between Arturo and the ribeye, this is why they get 5 stars. The ribeye was allllll the way worth it. Smashed potatoes as sides. Crispy and the perfect pairing. I could eat that ribeye every day and will need to work in pineapple into my steak nights at home. Finally, we had the rum cake.
