Food is decent. Nothing amazing. Good bar/sports atmosphere. Unfortunately, their keg taps were down in our most recent visit so no beer. Also they were out of their branded red wine with Boxwood. Not sure how that happens with Boxwood being so close. Overall I think the Leesburg location of KSOB is better.

We've been to KSOB many times over the years, since coming to their first location, before they opened the Middleburg location, which was in Leesburg, and we really enjoyed that one. We've been to this location many times as well and it's always packed and busy, so we're glad they do reservations! We recently went as a party of 7 and sat upstairs. Service was excellent and attentive, even though they were so busy. The menu was slightly different from what I recall it used to be, as they didn't have the sea bass entrée anymore, but they definitely had many amazing and appetizing options. The items we chose, we all really enjoyed! Cocktails were very nicely done too.

CRAB AND CORN CHOWDER--the oyster crackers on top were salty (yuk!), and I could hardly taste the crab.

I drank a Passionfruit Margarita, made by Bartender Laini. It was her first time making one because it is not on the menu, and it was too sweet, so I exchanged it for a club soda with a splash of ginger ale. I could taste the fresh, crunchy corn in the Crab and Crown Chowder, but I could hardly see or taste the crab. The oyster crackers placed on top of the chowder were salty and unnecessary. Overall, the Chowder was okay. The Grilled Scallop and Seafood Pasta had fresh seafood, but it was too salty, especially the scallops. The noodles were perfectly cooked, but they did not have the nutty taste that I was looking for. The mushrooms were the best tasting part of the dish. I passed on dessert because I did not want yet another disappointment. If Yelp had a 1/2 star rating system, I would give King Street Oyster Bar 3 1/2 stars, so I have to round my rating to 4 stars.

Overall decent place. Not every dish is standout. The best dish we tried was the smoked salmon salad with roasted corn, asparagus, and pecan. The salmon was cooked perfectly at medium rare and complements the salad very well. However, the other items we ordered were just average. The Rockefeller oysters were the most disappointing - osyster became too dry and the cheese was overpowering the taste of the oyster

I've been to this KSOB location a few times while visiting Middleburg. It's always solid and always busy so come during an off time or be prepared to wait. Some of my favorites are the salmon blt, the crab dip, and the oysters, but I've never had anything I didn't enjoy. Service at this location is great--my cup was never empty, which I always appreciate.

Decided to stop in during happy hour on a Monday. This place was packed and we didn't have a reservation. Just as I thought all hope was lost two spots opened up upstairs in the window area. Because it was happy hour we went with the mermaid tower and salmon sliders. The tower was huge and had a great variety. It came with claims, mussels, crab, shrimp, oysters on the half shell and ceviche. Everything was fresh and shucked really well. We also ordered the salmon sliders. They were on the happy hour menu and just decided to give them a try. They were decent. Nothing special, but they weren't bad either. All in all we enjoyed ourselves. Pro tip...I highly suggest making a reservation. The dining area is mid-sized and fills up fast.

Arrived during their happy hour time and I definitely feel like we got our money's worth. Sliders and house oysters were top tier, I still day dream about them. Their Dubai chocolate was rich, silky, and absolutely unforgettable. Like a luxury dessert vacation in every bite! Restaurant 100/10 will come again!

I spent Mother's Day in Middleburg and was staying at the red fox inn across from king street oyster bar. I'm not a huge seafood lover so was hesitant to eat here but the fact that it was so conveniently located to the hotel made it an easy choice. It was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon, but me and my mom were promptly seated even though we had no reservations. Service was great but OMG the food was delicious, it blew my mind. I ordered the grilled salmon with mashed cauliflower and lemon butter and a side of Mc and cheese. The salmon was divine, perfectly cooked and the cauliflower mashed tasted just like mashed potatoes, so creamy and good! The portion of the salmon was pretty generous. The side of Mc and cheese was huge! That could have been an entree and it was the best Mc and cheese I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about it, so rich and creamy. I was mind blown and can't wait to be back!

First of all, the setting: a charming little house turned restaurant, but inside it's giving modern minimalist chic -- clean lines, warm wood, soft lighting, and the kind of cozy vibe that makes you immediately relax and say, "Yes, I will have a cocktail." Speaking of cocktails... my friend and I started with two delicious drinks (Gin and tonic and French 75) that disappeared suspiciously fast. (Research purposes, obviously.) Then came the tapas parade: * Creamy burrata that was basically a love letter to cheese. * Spicy lamb ragu that had just enough kick to keep things interesting. The portion was nice too! * Perfectly cooked steak that was succulent! * And a sea bass in red curry that brought a little bold flavor moment to the table. Four plates, two drinks, zero regrets. Small space, big flavor, and the kind of spot that feels like you've discovered a secret. Middleburg, you're hiding gems!!! 10/10 would celebrate another birthday here -- even if it's not mine.

I will say maybe they had so many staff members because they were doing training as different people came by our small table each time to ask questions and deliver the two items. But because with the influx of people, it seemed like there were like 10 people all just hanging around the bar waiting for customers and just very talkative. The bathroom here is very clean and nice to use the facilities. I am not a beer drinker, and the Baltimore beer I was splitting with my husband, was different... rimming it with old bay (yuk!). My husband said it was refreshing with a unique taste but wasn't for him or for me. We were not offered to switch it out so he suffered through. The mac and cheese was the same way, different, and not for everybody. Our little didn't like it and she is a mac and cheese connoisseur. We ended up leaving over half the dish there (again no one checked on us to see if we were satisfied with it). We flagged down someone to pay the check, so we could get back on the road. I think the prices were outrageous for what you get. I understand if the quality was greater or the experience was greater but the portions and what you got were, in my opinion, don't aligned. I just feel like the experience could've been better for a Middleburg restaurant or beer hall.

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!
