Carne Asada Burrito, Lengua Taco, and Al Pastor Sope
Karl M.

* The All-Meat Carne Asada Burrito was great - burrito was packed with a ton of juicy meat sprinkled with hints of lime * The Lengua Taco was delicious - the generous amount of lengua was very soft and the tortilla was hot and fresh * The Al Pastor Sope was amazing - the base was both fluffy yet crunchy, the al pastor was savory with a nice char, and the cheese helped round everything together * Overall, a great spot with friendly service and tasty food to grab a quick bite at, doubly-so for their spicy, refreshing salsa

Beyond stale, couldn't even chew it. I'll stick to El Taurino next time.

Extremely disappointing, stale food, cold etc. I had high hopes. It's just not the same anymore.

Suadero and carne asada

Food was bland, rude service, no guacamole, they don't have lemons or limes. Wouldn't come back again. Gave one star because zero isn't available

Might be overrated but that's just my opinion. Atleast the staff was very nice. So first we called to ask if they do take out, but they stated "no, you still come to the line and we'll make your order when you arrive but they'll take the order info over the phone." Basically take out already? The food "to go" was wrapped in aluminum. Dine in was served a paper plate. So very casual setting Minus 1 star because they didn't give any limes. That really makes the flavor pop out. There are like 7 sections and when they call your order you go to the section that called to pick up. They call out the number in English and say something else, which I assume may be the section you pick up from but I couldn't really understand because they use a PA system. Anyways we went up to 2 different sections trying to find our food. When we finally did, the cook asked which sauce and gave us green and red sauce to go. I personally like the red because it had a stronger spicy kick to it. As for the tacos itself, I got chicken, pork and steak. The steak was probably the best because the meat was seasoned a lot more. Then pork was good. Chicken was bland. We also got 2 tamales and would avoid that at all cost. It was so bland and unseasoned. Totally meh. I guess only saving grace was how cheap it was?

Came here to see if it's still the same and it's not.. thankfully the carnitas and Al pastor tacos were good but the carne asada didn't taste like carne asada and the sope was way too crunchy and dry. My son had the half rotisserie chicken and he loved it, beans and rice that came with it were a little bland but dipping the chips into the beans made it taste better. The cheese quesadilla was good.

I've always heard about King Taco & bummed there's none in OC. I used to work in the same building as the corporate office which made me even more curious to try. I was surprised to see this location has a good sized parking lot & it's decently clean for the area. The inside has millions of tables & very clean too. It was pretty busy when we arrived, & a long line. The food has to be good if it's busy & a long line. I'm really boring when it comes to Mexican food & I really only order tacos. I was surprised to see they have rotisserie chicken here. I ordered 4 carne asada tacos & my husband got an all meat burrito. We also got some nachos & a large horchata to share. I was slightly bummed that they don't do the whole grilled onions :(. The food came out relatively fast & my first impressions was that the tacos looked very plain & bland. Ha was I wrong ! My first bite was without the salsa & the meat was not at all dry & there was so much flavor ! I also tried the green salsa which was my fav - adds a nice kick. Recommend ! The horchata was so good too, it definetly wasn't too watery or too cinnamon-y either. Wish there was an OC location, because this would be at the top of my places for Mexican food.

Love the red sauce, and cheesy quesadillas. Tacos and burritos are very solid and they are always quick. No complaints.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

As soon as you walk up the stairwell you'll be transported into this super cute place with an outdoor-indoor feel, almost like an elegant treehouse. We were seated on the second level which provided a Birds Eye view of the restaurant. We ordered a few items to share: Cameron ceviche, flautas and for our sweet tooth, French toast paired with a mango sorbet surprise with a candle for our birthdays (tip: we drizzled the melted sorbet on our French toast and took small scoops with each bite - game changer!). Everything was so delicious! We also ordered mocktails, a miche-nada for him and a lemony drink for me. This experience wouldn't have been as great without the exceptional service we had. Our waters were always refilled without asking, our tables were cleaned with every dish, honestly top-notch service! My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. Despite the menu change, the incredible atmosphere and unique menu still make it a must-try.

Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
