Okay, hear me out, I know it's called Kingchops but the real money maker is their chicken. I ordered their pork chop because of the name and my boyfriend got the chicken and oh man I wish I switched. The chicken was more moist and flavorful, BUT watch out for chicken bones because it can break if you bite it too fast (heh we were super hungry) and you might get it in your mouth :/. This was super filling for such a cheap price! Good thing to note is they don't have water, they serve tea instead but it's more like boba tea than herbal tea. 3 stars because the Staff took sooo long to flag down and even when I went to the counter to pay, there were two of them and they ignored me for a while and even went around me. A hefty portion of tastefully greased up porkchops, a mountain of rice with minced marinated pork on top. The side of scrambled eggs speaks to the inner powerlifter in me. We came for dinner during there soft opening. Literally half the menu was not available but as expected for any "soft" opening. The really short menu literally has a handful of items: Pork chop rice, pork chop noodle, chicken rice, chicken noodle, beef stew, minced pork or chicken curry. The prices are mostly in the $9 range, yes this is Irvine so you pay a premium. The entire 2nd pages drink menu isn't available yet until they open as they said. The Pork Chop itself is well seasoned with the right consistency of batter to meat ratio if you've ever had the authentic pork chop in Taiwan. The problem here is the portion sizes aren't that big for the price paid. We found ourselves still hunger after eating, especially if you order the noodles since it doesn't come with the small side dishes. read more

Kingchops is popping up everywhere and there is now on in Irvine. I actually haven't had it even though they have a few locations in california. But today was the day that I wanted to try it out. The name pretty much says it all they are pros at the pork chop but I think they also have many different favorites from their menu. Don't forget they close on Tuesdays so if your trying to stop by just not on a Tuesday. The place gets pretty busy with many different types of patrons. Ordered a pork chop rice, cucumber and tofu with a 1,000 egg. All of this was tasting pretty delicious to me. But again I'm not saying this place is the best but it's pretty high up on that standing. The minced meat and rice is also pretty tasty. My father loves this place and enjoys many different dishes from their menu. The noodle that came with the chicken leg combo was eyyy. The soup had no flavor. The chicken was good though, juicy and crispy. The pork chop rice here tasted very clean. The batter was not super crispy, but it had a good taste. The portions were a bit small. I didn't care much for the sides that the dish came with either. The minced pork rice was good though. They did however provide all the customers with free jasmine green tea. Overall nothing super special about this place. The dried noodles were too salty. All I could taste was the salt, the sodium, it erases all the flavors that I should be tasting. The bowl looks large, but portions were not that much. The dumplings were alright with the chili​ sauce. The pork chops were​ different in that it was not crispy. It had an illusion that it was fried but it wasn't. It was mediocre. I can't stand the styrofoam cups. I don't mind the glass bottle, but please have some plastic cups or glass cups. They sell glass and ceramic cups at the Dollar Tree. They should invest in those. I wear lipstick and hate to directly drink from the styrofoam cups, and when I stick a long straw into a small foam cup, it is absolutely silly. The whole meal looks cheap with the cups. It looks like the restaurant​ cannot afford a person to wash the dishes or they can't afford cups. I am happy that the city of Long Beach is taking initiative to banned foam products in the ​restaurant​, and so should the city of Irvine. No ice machine, it's​ so sad, how an establishment in Irvine could own no ice machine. ​They have no ice, so everything is room temperature. I love iced water with my meal. They try to do the heavy glass bottle at every table so they don't have to go around and refill, so the employees can have more time to stand behind the counter and chit-chat​. Parking: Shared Plaza with other facilities, and might not be able to find parking when busy. We went here for dinner, parking was​ available in front of other businesses​ because they were closed. The bathroom​ is too front and open, right in your face. In front of everyone. It was a single occupant. Just imagine having to sit next to that bathroom. Every time someone flushes​ or makes their duty, all that air just blows your way and into your food. Talk about gross. Overall, I do not recommend​ this place, the atmosphere and all the general knick-knacks that should not have​ been missed by a restaurant​ is enough for me to scream "DON'T GO HERE" I mean, unless if you're into the whole "salty food, I am okay with cheap layout and styrofoam cups with no ice water and watching people exit the bathroom" then, ​by all means, go waste your money here. Business owners should own up to their mistakes. Yes, pleasing me does not increase your revenue. But your lack of politeness and business ethnics in trying to make shortcuts can also wreck your business. Take my review as a grain of salt of you will. We were visiting Irvine today and wanted some Taiwanese food. Decided to dine in. Restaurant was less than half capacity (only 4 tables spread out in 4 corners). Got pork chop, spicy wonton, thousand year old egg with cold tofu, beef noodles and stinky tofu stuffed with sausages. We were used to the crispy stinky tofu and thought it was very interesting to serve it this way. My son said the outside of tofu was crispy and the inside white parr was soft and pillowy and it reminded him of a sandwich! Pork chop was not oily or loaded with thick batter. Very clean inside, used digital menu, digital ordering and optional online payment through their own link (QR code on each table) and provided disposable utensils and a covered water pitcher for our table. Dry Noodle had SO much flavor - there's a lot of sauce at the bottom and I was really grateful for the boiled bok choy and tea because it was a but overly salty in some areas that the sauce concentrated in. But after mixing it all up throughout the meal, it was super delicious. Noodles were chewy, egg was nice, minced pork was great texture and flavor. Service: AVERAGE: glass water container is available to self-serve, and small cup of complimentary black tea with refill is providedl. If you check in, they give you black tea in a slightly larger to go cup. Food: Small selection of menu about 20 items. The presentation looks nice on the black plate, but the food is mostly too salty. Also, I didn't like how they serve the entree separately from the sides as they don't come together on a plate. They serve the side dishes first and the kingchop 5-10 min later. It was kind of hard eating "porkchop rice" when there's only rice and without meat present.
